A Derpy Apocalypse: Dead Mare Walking
Chapter Three - Taking a Walk
Previous ChapterNext ChapterDerpy awoke the next morning, everypony was eating breakfast. She wasn't so hungry, so she decided to add another journal entry. Ditsy took out a pen and began to write another entry.
"Today, feels colder than most days. In real time, it is warmer, warmest to be exact...but...something is just making my body shiver. I know I have feelings for that guy...for Time Turner...but I think it may make my entire relationship with Gunny completely vain. I don't know what to do. He's cute, he's funny, and he seems like the perfect stallion, but...I don't want to feel guilty because of it, because of Gunny. I still love him but, I don't know how he would have felt if I loved somepony else. I am almost to the point I can't mentally handle all the thoughts my mind is trying to process, I might have well become a zed myself. I want to think Gunny would want me to have another stallion if he died, I want to think that he would want somepony else to love me, and protect me, and help me throughout the rest of my dreadful life. But at the same time, I wonder if he meant to tell me the opposite. I wish that part of the page would have been intact, I don't know what to do. A part of me tells me to go for it, and that surely Gunny would want me to be happy...But the other part tells me that I would be a bucking traitor that didn't give a crap about the entire relationship. But one other part of me says...That I should go on a walk and think it through. Come to think of it, it tells me that I should invite Time Turner also...I don't know how this is going to go...but I hope it goes well."
With that Derpy closed her journal. She opened up the tent and walked out. Derpy looked around for Time Turner. She saw him and walked up to him. For some odd reason, she involuntarily wrapped her arms around him, giving him a big hug. She quickly let go and jumped back.
"I'm...I'm sorry I don't know why I just---" Derpy stuttered.
"No it's okay, Ditsy..." Turner said with a smile. "I kind of needed a hug anyway."
"Uhm...do you mind if we go on a walk together?" Derpy said. "I need your help with something, and I want it to be in private."
"Oh..." Turner said, with a confused face.
"It's okay, you don't..." Derpy said with a sad face. "you don't have to..."
"No, I'll go it's just that..." Turner replied. He thought for a moment on what to say. "I just wasn't expecting you to ask me that, because I was going to ask you."
"Oh...wow, really?" Derpy asked with a smile on her face.
"Yes!" Turner replied again with a smile also. He reached down to hold Ditsy's hoof. "You don't mind do you?" he asked. "I don't want one of the zeds to get you."
"No, no!" Derpy said. "Not at all!"
"Well in that case," Turner continued. "off we go!"

They got everything in order, some guns, ammo, radio, and food, and then went out of the camp. They were teased by some of the guards, but Turner laughed it off and would respond with,
"At least I have somepony!"
Derpy on the other hand, gave them a stare that immediately shut them up, though she would laugh at Turners comebacks.
When they walked out farther from the camp, they found a little empty area surrounded by trees. Turner set up a spot to sit for the both of them, and they sat down.
"So Ditsy..." Turner started. "What do you need?"
"Uhm..." Derpy said. She scooted closer to Turner. "You know that guy I was talking about the other day?"
"Yes, I remember." Turner replied.
"Well..."Derpy added. "his name was Gunny, and he was my 'special somepony.'"
"Oh..." Turner said, remembering Ditsy's mentioning of Gunny's death. "I'm sorry."
"Well he...wrote me this letter." Derpy continued, handing him her journal, opened to the first page. Turner read it.
"It appears to be...torn apart." he said, flipping the page back and forth.
"Yes, that's why I need you," Ditsy said again. "I don't know if he's telling me to get another stallion, or stay alone."
"Why do you want to know exactly?" Turner asked. "If you don't mind me asking, that is."
"Because I love you." Derpy said. "And I don't want to feel bad not knowing what Gunny left me." Turner was shocked by this statement.
"W-well...uhm..." Turner stuttered. "Wh-what can I...can I do?"
"See if you can find anything on that page." Derpy said.
"Oh I know!" Turner exclaimed. He looked around for a writing utensil, and spotted one Ditsy was holding. "Ditsy, may I borrow your pen?" Turner asked.
"Sure..." Ditsy responded, handing him the pen. Turner grabbed the pen and gently scratched it across the page.
"A little trick I learned from Sherlock Hooves." Turner said. "Just lightly put it over the next page, to see the indention of the writing, and then you can find what it says!"
"Well, what does it say?" Derpy asked. She looked at the page and reread it aloud.
"If I die at early age, you don't need to be sad over me, if you find another stallion, then go ahe---ad and marry another one, one that makes you happy, I love you too much to restrict you.
~Gunny"
Derpy slowly looked up at Turner with a smile.
"You know what this means, right?" she asked.
"Not...Necessarily..." Turner replied.
"It means I can be in a relationship with somepony and not feel bad about it!" Derpy exclaimed. She went up to Turner and hugged him. "I guess who that somepony is?"
"Uhm....." Turner thought for a moment, if he said himself he would sound selfish but--- Turner stopped thinking as Derpy brought her lips to his. Nice and slowly, but without warning. When Derpy let back, Turner had a big smile on his face.
"I think it was me..." Turner said.
"Yes, silly, it was you." Derpy responded laughing at him.
