Chapter 1 (INCOMPLETE! THIS IS JUST A PREVIEW)

In Equestria, Twilight's friends and the other Princesses were beginning to worry . The portal was going to close soon, and there had been no sign of something exiting the portal. A ripple in the mirror began to emerge, and Rainbow Dash stepped closer to the mirror, thinking it would be Twilight Sparkle that was going to step out.  However, it wasn't Twilight who came through, but the demonic form of the human Flash Sentry, now in a pony form. His head was poking out of the portal muzzle-to-muzzle with Rainbow Dash.  With a fanged smile on his face, he walked out of the portal, with Sunset Shimmer's cutie mark on his flank.  The Mane 6 and the princesses were terrified to see this demon before them.

Out of the portal next came 2 demonic mares; one a dark lavender, and another a bright yellow. They too bore Sunset Shimmer's cutie mark. And last but not least, the demonic form of Sunset Shimmer herself came through the portal. Sunset emerged as a demonic Alicorn, with her mane burning as brightly as the sun, and two demonic wings that were so sharp they could slice the air. With a demonic grin on Sunset Shimmer's face, she said, "Do you see it NOW, Celestia?! What I am truly capable of?! I told you I was ready to be made an alicorn then, and look at me NOW! More than fit to rule Equestria in you and your sister's place! Equestria... and the WORLD!"

Celestia was horrified to say the least.  She had not expected Sunset Shimmer to come through the portal.  Much less with an army of demonized ponies.  She could have sworn she even saw a demonized version of herself and her sister Luna among the army.  "Sunset Shimmer?  Is that truly you?  What happened to you?" she asked with a fearful tone in her voice.

Sunset Shimmer still wore that malicious grin on her face, and pointed to the crown on her forehead, still burning with black fire.  "Take a wild guess Celestia!"

When Celestia looked at the crown, she noticed that it was the Element of Magic that rested on her former student's head.  Except, she could sense that the Element of Magic was corrupted, and she could see the gold metal of the crown slowly turning black, and the gem turning from light purple to blood red.  "That's not possible!  Only Twilight could use the Element of Magic!"

"Oh please!" said Sunset, "You of all people should know that if the original bearer is gone, then the Element would simply seek another to wield its power."

"G-gone?" said Celestia with a tone that could be compared to a mother losing her child.  "Wh-what do you mean Sunset?  WHAT DID YOU MEAN?"

"TWILIGHT SPARKLE IS DEAD! BY MY OWN HOOVES, I HAVE DESTROYED EQUESTRIA'S LAST DEFENSE! NOW YOU SHALL ALL FALL TO THE WRATH OF MY ARMY, THE SATANIC SUNSET, AND I, SUNSET SATAN!"

Celestia broke into tears.  She had valued Twilight Sparkle as not just a student, but as her own daughter.  All those long years of Twilight's studies flashed in Celestia's mind.  From when Twilight was first accepted as Celestia's personal protege, all the way to the events of Twilight's venture through the mirror.  Words cannot express the grief Celestia felt at losing the only pony she considered her daughter.

And she hated Sunset Shimmer for taking Twilight Sparkle away from her.

"Sunset Shimmer...  I WILL END YOU!" said Celestia.  As she said this, she summoned forth a glowing scythe as large as her body, and proceeded to lunge at Sunset Shimmer.  Sunset Shimmer summoned forth her own weapon, a blade made of fire, and used it to block the incoming hit from Celestia's scythe.  The weapons made a great flash as they collided with each other.  Sunset Shimmer had rarely seen her former mentor in combat, so she was not quite sure what to expect Celestia to use against her.
