Fears
A Few Words

As she wrote her last few lines, Fluttershy could see a small purple bird flying right towards her. Smiling, she sang along to the little tune the bird was greeting her with, before turning her attention back to the passage in the book she had just finished, the crayon still on top of it, where she had dropped it moments earlier.
"Today was certainly eventful, wasn't it Angel? Singing in front of all those ponies... I never thought I had it in me." Angel only frowned at her.
"Well, maybe not in FRONT of those ponies, but it's a start, right?" Fluttershy continued. This time the bunny nodded before hopping away, off to find some carrots she mused. Still, she couldn't help but feel some gratitude towards him, after all, without him there to help Rarity convince me, I would never have said yes!
"Hey Fluttershy, I uh..." Before the voice could say anything else though, it was interrupted by a shriek and in an instant, Fluttershy was hovering an inch above the ground staring right at the suprise entry, who turned out to be no-one else but Rainbow Dash. With a blush, she landed her hooves back on the stage.
Rainbow Dash meanwhile ran her hoof through her prisma mane, a small grin on her muzzle. Still, Fluttershy couldn't help but feel something was off. Rainbow wasn't exactly her usual self, she figured.
"Hehe, sorry about sneaking up on ya, guess I should know better huh." Rainbow stopped chuckling and frowned instead, before looking back up straight at her.
"So... I uh, what I wanted to say was... uh. hm" Shifting her gaze back at the floor, Fluttershy could almost swear she heard her friend mumble something to herself under her breath. Her mind seemingly made up, Rainbow looked back up, straight into her eyes, a sense of determination clearly visible.
"I just wanted to say that... I'm really proud of you Flutters. You know, for singing. In front of us. I just... I know that you're not... the best in front of ponies, but you really did it, y'know? I guess I just wanted to let you know that." Rainbow finished with a hint on her face, before lowering her gaze to the floor and adding "Aaand you're a really great singer."
Dumbfounded by the sudden praise, Fluttershy could only stare at her best friend. Was that a hint of a blush on her cheeks?
"Anyway, uh yeah. I gotta go. Bye Flutters!" And she was gone, just when she had finally found her voice again. "Thanks Rainbo...w, uh, bye? Wait!" she stammered out.
A warm feeling enveloped her chest at that moment. Was it pride? No, it was... different. But Fluttershy pushed the feeling aside. "huh", she thought to herself as she gazed up at the sky,"guess I'm not the only pony who has some fears to conquer." The hint of a smile starting to appear on her muzzle.
