Star Flare is Equestria's first and only thaumaturge. When the Summer Sun Celebration approaches, Princess Celestia sends him a letter asking him to attend to ensure that her plan to deal with Nightmare Moon is carried out successfully. He agrees, albeit reluctantly, and sets off for Ponyville, prepared for the worst. What he ran into though, was not quite what he was expecting. He decides to stay in Ponyville, and weird stuff happens. But weird stuff is normal for a thaumaturge, so he's okay with it.
