Equestria Under Siege

“… What the… where am I? Everything is so… calmed… so quiet… what is this…? Is it… grass…? I need to open my eyes…” Then I opened my eyes, it took me a long time to recover from that fall.

I guess the grass broke my fall, otherwise I don’t think I would survive a fall of that altitude...

The air was cool, and the sun was giving a nice and warm light, I felt… peace, I never felt this before, but, there was something wrong…I knew there was something wrong, but I was not really sure...

But somehow I managed to wake up like nothing, I was taller, and I was stronger, so I hurried to a small pond that was near me and I saw me… a new me…

My hair was longer, I was taller now and my arms were stronger, and my eyes… they had changed to blue and if that wasn’t enough… I HAD A FREAKING HORN!

I never thought this could happen, but… I liked my new look I don’t know why, but I liked my new body, even my horn… it was nice…

“Nice… but… where am I? Am I in the same world as before? Was that machine just a teleporter? Or did I really go to another Universe? I’m confused… I better go look for someone…” And so, I went south… to find someone who can tell me where the hell I was… “Where the hay am I??...” Then I got confused…

“ ’What the hay’… Why the hay I say that? “What!?” Somehow it felt more… appropriate, I don’t know why, but I somehow felt it was better than saying ‘what the hell’, so I kept it.

After a couple of minutes, I got to a town which seemed very nice, and there were people there, so I decided to go there and find a place to sleep and something to eat and drink.

After a while I came up with a sign at the outsides of the village: “Ponyville” how… odd, but still, I went in, I was so thirsty that I could drink a gallon of water.

I found out something… interesting… there were some of them who… could fly! They had wings and they could fly from one place to another…

I would have liked to be able to fly, but instead I got this horn, so far it has been useless, but I don’t really know how to use it, so it may be more useful than I believe it is.

When I entered Ponyville, I found myself with a lot of strange people, some had a horn like me, but others had wings on their backs which they used to fly, and some didn’t have either wings, nor a horn, they were simpler ones.

It was interesting, and they all seemed to know each other and like each other, and I also noticed a great lack of males, they were majorly women, but there were some men around.

Later on, I saw a girl, she was using purple shades and a pair of headphones, she seemed nice, so I decided to talk with her.

“Hey, hello, my name is Night Wolf” the blue haired girl looked at me, she seemed confused.

“Hey! Hello, I’m Vinyl Scratch! Nice to meet you! Are you new around here? I don’t remember seeing you around” She said.

“Yes, I’m new, I came from north” I said.

“Nice, so, you’re from Canterlot?” then I got nervous since I didn’t know where Canterlot was, I could tell her the truth, but I was sure she would not believe me, so I decided to lie a little.

“Err… yeah, I’m from Canterlot” she looked excited about my answer.

“Cool, I have a very special friend who lives in Canterlot, maybe you have heard about her, her name is Octavia” then I got even more nervous, I didn’t know her, but by the look at Vinyl’s face and how she described Octavia, she seemed to be very important at Canterlot, so I decided to tell her another lie.

“Oh, yes! Octavia, I’ve heard a lot about her!” I lied.

“Oh really? Wow, and here I thought she was only famous at the orchestra, but now I see she is very famous there!” She said, surprised.

“Yeah, but hey, I wanted to ask you a favor, could you please give me a tour around Ponyville? It’s my first time here” I asked her.

“Sure! Let’s go, I’ll take you around, first stop, Sugarcube Corner!”

Then we went to that place she mentioned, we saw a couple of people who seemed to know Vinyl, I guess she was kind of famous around, I´m glad I met her, so I decided to try becoming a good friend of hers.

After some minutes of walking and meeting other citizens, we finally made it to Sugar Cube Corner, it was shaped like a giant cake, or a giant cupcake, something like that, by logic, I got the idea that there they sold cakes.

“This is Sugar Cube Corner, a bakery where you can buy cakes, cupcakes and other kind of stuff, here lives Mrs. Cupcake and Mr. Carrot, as well as the completely random Pinkie Pie!, man, that girl is so random that she can pull a cannon out of her ass!” Vinyl said.

I couldn’t hold my laugh about that, it just sounded so wrong “Hey… what’s so funny…? … oh… I get it… HAHAHAHA, I didn’t realize how wrong that sounded HAHAHAHAHAHA” we laughed a lot, and then a girl with really fluffy pink hair suddenly came out of nowhere and hugged both of us.

“HAHAHA, what are we laughing at guys?” said the pink-haired girl.

“Oh, it’s you Pinkie! It was nothing, actually, we are here to see you!” said Vinyl, after a couple of seconds I finally realized that girl was Pinkie Pie.

“Oh, hey Pinkie Pie, I’m Night Wolf, I’m new here, nice to meet you!” Then Pinkie suddenly got surprised and she ran very fast and disappeared right behind a light pole…

“Ok… that was very… Random…” I said.

“See? What did I tell ya? She is so random, but very funny, and she makes the best parties of whole Ponyville, and she is probably preparing a party for you!” She said, excited by the idea.

“A party? For me? But… why? She doesn’t even know me!” I asked, intrigued.

“Yeah, she doesn’t, but she always does this kind of stuff with the new people that come to Ponyville, she did with Twilight… Oh! By the way! We need to keep going, you will see Pinkie later, but now, we better go to the next stop, Carrousel Boutique, where Rarity lives” Vinyl said, she didn't lose her enthusiasm.

This whole place was very weird, but still, it was better than my world, at least here people made parties for newcomers…

We went to Carrousel Boutique, on our way there, I saw a couple of shops and some houses, they all seemed similar, but different at the same time, it was nice.

But something really caught my glimpse… there was a shop that was named Quills and Sofas… I believe they sold Quills and…Sofas? But why would someone sell only two things, and worse, two things that don’t have anything in common? Well, I don’t know, and I don’t think I want to know.

On our way to the boutique, Vinyl and I talked a lot, we got to know each other and I realized we had a lot in common, I liked her, she was funny, energetic, and 'explosive' from moment to moment, but not explosive in a bad way.

I finally made a friend, it was quick though, I don't know why she liked me that much, but it was nice having a new friend so fast.

After a minute or two, we saw Rarity’s house, The Carrousel Boutique, it was the only house that seemed to be a house for a princess, so my first thought was that Rarity maybe was of the egocentric type, I didn’t really like that kind of girls, actually, I hate that kind of girls, but still, I may be wrong, so I decided not to make prejudices and try to know her better.

“And here we are, this is Carrousel Boutique, here lives the best designer of whole Ponyville, Rarity, we should enter, who knows, maybe she will make a suit for you!” Said Vinyl.

I got interested on that… a change of clothes wouldn’t be bad.

“Yes, that would be nice, maybe…” a scream that came from the Boutique didn’t let me finish my sentence, it sounded like it was something important, so we decided to get is fast, then we saw a purple haired girl who was screaming.

“OH NO!! I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME! OF ALL THE THINGS THAT COULD HAPPEN, THIS IS THE WORST POSSIBLE THING!” I got scared, so I decided to ask her what was going on.

“Hey, what’s going on? Are you ok?” Then she looked at me anxious.

“Oh dear, I could use your help, could you please help me? Pleaaasee??” She asked me, very scared.

This was new for me, someone asking ME for help? It’s usually the opposite, but I decided to help her.

“Yeah, what do you need?” I asked her, worried.

“Oh, please, could you help me find my…” and then she calmed down out of nowhere.

“Oh, wait, there it is” she said, right before she went to a desk and took a piece of shiny cloth.

“So… was that the problem?” I asked, confused.

“Well, yes my dear, the problem was that I couldn’t find this piece of Golden Silk, it’s very hard to craft and I need it for a special order, but here it is, so it’s ok now” She said, before she went back to the mannequin.

I couldn’t believe that she was so worried about that cloth, It looked very rare, yes, but she was screaming like if her mother had died or something like that.

“Ok… anyway, hello, I’m Night Wolf, I’m new here in Ponyville, nice to meet you” I said to her.

Rarity looked like she realized something “Oh, that explains why I haven’t seen you around here, you are new, and from where do you come?”

“I come from Canterlot” I lied again, these lies will accumulate and kill me soon I thought.

Rarity got surprised by my answer, “Oh darling! You come from Canterlot!? Oh my, I love Canterlot, tell me, and how is Canterlot these days?” She asked, excited.

“Err…” I didn’t really know what to tell her, I have NEVER been on Canterlot, NEVER, so how would I know how it was these days?

So I decided to tell the thing that always works “It’s nice, sunny days and cool nights, you know, the usual” I said, trying to hide my lie tone from Rarity.

She looked confused, like if what I had said didn’t match with what she knows, oh man, I was nervous, I knew it wouldn’t work.

“Mm… ok, seems Canterlot hasn’t really changed, but there’s som…” she said but then a loud noise was heard in the back of the Boutique “Oh, Im so sorry, I’ll go see what’s wrong” Rarity went to the back of the Boutique to check what was that noise.

“Sweetie Belle!! What are you doing!? … Wait… is that my golden silk!? Why did you cut it!?” Rarity said, very angry.

Then another voice could be heard, it was the voice of a little girl.

“I’m sorry sis, I wanted to help you with your request, and I thought I could use some of your golden silk to reduce your work a little…” The young voice said.

“But Sweetie Belle! That was for an important request from a very important client! Oh dear Celestia, it will take forever to make more!” Rarity said, with a very stressed voice.

“I’m sorry sis” The young voice said, she sounded sad.

“Just, go, I’ll go make some more…” Then I saw a young girl with pink and violet hair go up the stairs of the Boutique, she seemed… sad.

A couple of seconds later, Rarity came back “Oh, I’m sorry darling, I believe our chit-chat will have to be postponed, I have to make more Golden Silk before it’s too late, but let’s talk again sometime, ok?” She said with a touch of desperation on her.

“Ok, we will talk later, I really hope you manage to make that silk on time” I said, I have to admit I was pretty worried.

“Thanks” and she went out the door that was the moment we decided to go.

“Ok, I guess we could… I dunno, look, we have a couple of options here, we could go visit Twilight Sparkle, she just became an alicorn a couple of days ago, we could also meet Rainbow Dash, but I’m not pretty sure where she is… but she can’t be hard to find, and we could go see Applejack, she lives at sweet apple acres, but it’s kinda off the road, and there is also Fluttershy, she is usually in the woods or at her house, so… who will it be? Or… we could call it a day and get some rest, I believe you must be hungry for that long walk from Canterlot to here aren’t you?” Vinyl said, I could see she was trying to get over the akward situation we just went through.

“Well…” I was kind of tired, but I wanted to meet at least one more, you know, to have some friends and maybe having someone to rely on, “Ok, what if we go search Rainbow Dash?” I said.

“Mm… ok, let’s see… oh, I know where she may be, she must be somewhere around Ponyville, maybe resting on a cloud or something…”

Resting on a cloud? Was that even possible? “Ok… let’s go” said Vinyl and so we decided to look for Rainbow Dash.

After a while, we found her, she was actually sleeping on a cloud, and I couldn’t believe a person could sleep on a cloud, but I guess that was not the weirdest thing I’ve seen around here…

“Hey, Rainbow Dash!” Vinyl yelled so that Rainbow could hear her, Rainbow woke up and looked at us and then she pulled out her wings and flew right to us.

“Oh, hey, what’s up?” Rainbow Dash said with a cool-girl tone.

“Hey Rainbow, I’m just showing this friend Ponyville, and he wanted to meet you” Then she stared at me, and she smiled.

“Hey buddy, I’m Rainbow Dash, the fastest Pegasi you will ever see” She said, I could see she was bragging about her skills.

“Hey, nice to meet you, I’m Night Wolf” I said, the most polite and cool way I could.

“So… what brings you to Ponyville?” asked Rainbow, and again, I had to lie, I mean, what else could I do?

“Well… I came for… nothing in special, I only came to see this place and maybe live here for a while” I lied, Rainbow seemed confused, and then she asked me another question.

“Ok… so, from where do you come?” she asked.

“Well… I come from Canterlot” I lied, again, then she seemed even more confused.

“Wait, you live in Canterlot, but you decided to move to Ponyville? That’s not something you don't see every day, but still, how did you find Ponyville? Did it fill your expectations?” she asked, looks like she was suspecting about my answer.

“Yeah, it really did, I like it a lot, but… I still don’t have anywhere to sleep or… any money for that matter…” I said, trying to sound helpless.

Vinyl looked at me and she said “Hey, and why don’t you stay in my house? At least until you find a work and a place to stay” Vinyl said, she was really trying to help me.

“Really? Would you do that for me?” I asked, surprised for her kindness.

“Of course, I mean, you are very funny, but of course, you will have to pay me rent.” She said, I believe she was expecting me to accept.

"But..." I replied "I don't have money..."

"Don't worry" she replied "You can pay me once you get a job."

“Seems fair enought, thanks!” I said, gratefully.

“No problem” Vinyl said, with a big smile on her mouth.

Then Rainbow Dash decided to get in the conversation “Hey guys, I gotta go, I have some clouds to clear and stuff to do, so, seeya!” she flew to another place, she was pretty fast.

“So… what do you wanna do next?” Vinyl asked me.

I was getting really tired, I just wanted some sleep. “I guess we could call it a day? I’m getting really tired, I could use some sleep and maybe some food” I said.

She also seemed a little tired, “Ok, I could also use some sleep and something to eat, let’s go to my house, I have some cupcakes and apple cider we can eat and drink” And we set course to Vinyl’s house.

“Wow, your house is awesome!” That’s what I said when I saw Vinyl's, it was great, and it had some music there for the ambient.

“Do you like this kind of music?” I asked.

She seemed surprised by my question “Like it? I make it! I’m also known by the name DJ-P0n3, ‘cause I’m the best DJ of all equestria!” She said, I can be wrong, but maybe she was bragging a little, still, I was surprised.

“Really? Wow, that’s awesome! but anyway, what about that food? I’m beginning to feel hungry…” I asked, trying to be polite.

“Oh, yeah, I nearly forgot, just sit here, I’ll be back in a moment” and so I sat at her table, it was blue with purple chairs, it was a cool place to live, the only thing I hoped was that she turned off the music when we would go to sleep.

She didn’t take long to come back, and she brought some mugs of Apple cider and a couple of apple pies, and she levitated them, and then I realized what the horn was for, it’s for magic! How could I not think of that? It was obvious, I decided to ask her about it, and she seemed to be very confused.

“Huh? What do you mean? Have you never used magic?” She asked me, intrigued.

“Well… no, I haven’t…” I answered, honestly.

“Wow, you come from Canterlot, the city of Unicorns and magic, and you haven’t used magic yet?? Now that’s something weird, but anyway, we better leave that for tomorrow when you meet Twilight Sparkle, since her special talent is magic, after all” she told me.

“Special talent?” I asked, confused.

“Yeah, you know, her Cutie Mark? ... wait a sec… you don’t have a Cutie Mark yet!?” she asked.

“Err…” I mumbled.

“Here, let me see your shoulder…” she said and then she rolled my sleeve up and she got surprised.

“Wow! I’ve never seen someone your age without a Cutie Mark! It’s so weird!” she said, looking very surprised.

“And do you have your Cutie Mark?” I asked, to see how a Cutie Mark should look like.

“Of course I do, look” she rolled her sleeve up and I saw a music symbol, was that a Cutie Mark?

“And what do Cutie Marks symbolize?” I asked since I was curious.

“Wow, you are very weird, but anyways, a Cutie Mark symbolizes your special talent, like being a carpenter, a singer or even an athlete, or like mine, which shows that my special talent is music, every one of our age has their Cutie Mark, well… everyone except for you, I guess you haven’t found your talent yet, but don’t worry, it won’t take long, you will get it when you least expect it, but for now, I think it would be better for you to get some sleep, you seem pretty tired, and I’m tired too, so, let’s go to sleep.”

And so we decided to go to sleep.

“This is a very weird place, people can fly, some can use magic, and everyone has a strange tattoo-like thing on their shoulders that represented their special talent, now that is some weird stuff, but… I guess it has more sense than I can think of, maybe I’ll get used to it… but for now, I will sleep… I don’t know what else I will find out tomorrow…” I thought.

And I was right, I could have never imagined what would happen the next day, it was so crazy that well… It changed my whole life forever…
