Equestria Under Siege

“Hey… wake up… Wake up Night Wolf!” A female voice said.

I was still sleeping, but I could hear her voice, she wanted me to get up, I didn’t want to, I was so comfortable, the bed of the room Vinyl had lent to me was so comfy, I wanted to stay there, but I knew I had to get up, so I made my best and I got up with a heavy yawn.

“You finally woke up, you really took your time huh?” I was still sleepy.

“Yeah, this bed is so comfortable, thanks again for letting me stay here, I really appreciate that” I said, making an effort for not falling asleep again.

“No problem, after all, we are friends, right?” friends… I never got somepony to call a friend other than Ayla.

I wonder what she was doing, maybe she has got some new friends, or maybe she tried the portal herself… who knows, but for now, I was here, with Vinyl.

“So… are we friends?” she asked, again.

“Oh, yeah, sorry, I got lost, of course we are friends!” I gave her a big smile to show her I was telling the truth, she giggled.

“He he, that’s great! Ok, but now that I think about it… I wonder why Pinkie Pie didn’t make your party… I mean, she never takes more than a day for making a party… anyway, who do you want to meet next? We can go with Applejack at Sweet Apple Acres, or to Twilight’s Books and Branches Library or Fluttershy’s cottage, what do you say?” Vinyl said.

I felt like going with Applejack, I like apples, and maybe she could give me some, who knows.

“Let’s go with Applejack.” I said, sure about my answer.

“Mm… ok, we should get there in 5-10 minutes, depending on what we find on the way” Vinyl said.

She was a real friend, I liked her, but I couldn’t stop feeling like something was missing… maybe it was nothing, so we went to Sweet Apple Acres.

After a while, we finally got there, it was awesome, all the apples and the wonderful trees, and there I saw a blonde girl; she was gathering some apples, and there was a man, he was also blonde, also he seemed like a very tough guy. We entered the Sweet Apple Acres, and we got received by a redhead young girl.

“Hey ya’ll, welcome to Sweet Apple Acres!” she gave us a big smile “I see ya are new to this place, right?” The little girl said.

She was talking to me, she obviously knew I was new around here.

“Yeah, I’m new around here, my name is Night Wolf, and yours?” I asked, trying to make a good impression.

“I’m Apple Bloom, nice to meet ya!” The young girl said.

“Nice to meet you too Apple Bloom” I said.

She was a cute little girl, I could imagine she was Applejack’s little sister, I mean, both their names start with Apple, they must be sisters.

“Hey Apple Bloom, can I see your sister?” I asked Apple Bloom.

“Oh, ya mean Applejack? What do ya want with her? Are ya her new boyfriend?” She asked me.

“No! I haven’t even met her!” I said, I admit my face blushed a little.

Apple Bloom seemed to disbelieve me.

“Ok… anyways, she is gathering some apples for the apple cider, over there” she said.

Pointing to the apple trees, so I could guess the blonde girl I saw before should be Applejack, so we decided we should enter and talk to her, we walked a for a while searching for her, and then I saw her.

“Hey!, you must be Applejack! Nice to meet you!” I said.

Applejack turned around to see me, she was surprised and she gave me a smile.

“Hey partner, nice to meetcha! As ya already said I’m Applejack, the most reliable of ponies of whole Ponyville! What’s yer name?” Applejack asked.

“Oh, I’m Night Wolf, I’m new around here” I said.

“Ah, that explains why I didn’t recognize ya, so… what brings ya to Ponyville?” She asked.

I thought I had to lie, but still, I didn’t have to lie, at least not a very big lie.

“Well… I have to admit that what brought me here majorly were your Apples, they are the best apples I’ve tasted in my whole life!” I said.

Applejack’s face began to blush.

“Wow… I didn’t know mah Apples were THAT good, thank ya” She said, surprised.

“I only speak the truth, I love your apples” Applejack seemed to be very happy “Well, thank ya Night Wolf, I…” Then the tough-looking guy came with a big basket filled with apples.

“Hey Big Macintosh! Did ya end up picking the apples from the south zone?” said Applejack.

Big Macintosh had a very calmed expression on his face.

“Eyup” He said.

That’s everything he said, eyup.

“Great, and did ya had any trouble getting them?” Applejack asked.

“Nope” Big Macintosh said.

‘Nope’ I guess he is of the silent type.

“Hey, this is Night Wolf, he’s new in here” Applejack said.

Big Macintosh looked at me and placed his hand in front of me, probably wanting a handshake.

“Hey, I’m Night Wolf, nice to meet you Big Macintosh!” I said.

I shook his hand, man he really gave a tough handshake, my hand hurt a little after it.

“Eyup, nice to meet ya” He said.

Mm… I think that’s biggest amount of words I will ever hear from him I thought.

“Hey Night Wolf, where are yer staying?” Applejack asked me.

“Oh, I’m staying at Vinyl’s place…” I said.

Applejack looked around and then asked me.

“Oh really? And where is she?” She asked me.

When she mentioned it, I realized she wasn't here… where was she?

“I don’t know, I thought she was behind me… I’m going to go look around for her, that way I can let you finish your job, I’ll see you later” I said.

“Sure, we’ll see ya later” Applejack said.

I made a fast goodbye signal and went looking for Vinyl, she was hard to find, but when I did, I found her at the main entrance of Sweet Apple Acres, maybe waiting for me.

“Hey Vinyl, what are you doing here?” I asked.

She looked at me with her shining purple shades.

“Well… I didn’t want to bother you while you introduced yourself to Applejack, and I also had to check some stuff on my house, so, how did everything go?” She asked.

“Well, she was nice, and her brother was pretty tough and silent” I said.

“Oh, you also met Big Macintosh? Yeah, he is pretty strong, but kind of shy”She said.

“Well, shy is not the word I would use, but alright” I was pretty eager to meet another person, probably Twilight.

“So, come on, let’s go meet Twilight, she is the closest one to this place since Fluttershy is on the other side of town” Vinyl said

“Ok, let’s go” I said

I wondered how would Twilight look like, Vinyl told me on the way there a lot about her, and that she was incredible with magic, I was excited to meet her, maybe she could teach me how to use my own magic! Anyway, I couldn't wait to see her.

On the way to Twilight’s house, we found a girl who was very friendly, her name was Derpy, her eyes were… unusual, I have to admit that I got scared the first time I saw her, but I managed to get to her before she went, I apologized to her and she forgave me, and after talking and getting to know each other, we became friends, and then we decided to keep going, but she wanted to go with us, and we agreed, I really like her company.

So there we were, outside of Twilight Sparkle’s House, it was basically a big tree with windows, you could see books by the windows, I went and knocked the door, a young guy with green hair opened the door

“Hey, I’m Night Wolf, I’m new around here and I wanted to talk with Twilight Sparkle, is she home?” I asked

The young guy seemed a little offended

"Yeah, she’s home, name’s Spike by the way, thanks for asking…” He said

Man, how could I forget asking for his name? I thought

“Oh, sorry, my bad, nice to meet you Spike, it’s just… I am so eager to meet Twilight so she can teach me how to use my magic, I forgot to ask for your name” I explained "Can you forgive me?"

Spike stopped for a moment, he was thinking “Mm… ok, I forgive you, anyways, get in, Twilight is in there, shelving some of her books” He said, pointing at the main door

“Thanks” I said before I got inside the tree

Derpy and Vinyl began to talk with Spike “Hey Derpy and Vinyl, are you here with Night Wolf?” asked Spike to the girls

“Yeah, he is new around here, so I decided to show him around town” said Vinyl

“Yes, and I’m here because Night Wolf and I just became friends!” said Derpy, with lots of enthusiasm

I couldn’t listen to the rest of the conversation because I saw a purple haired girl there, shelving a couple of books

“Hey, you must be Twilight, right?” I asked

She stopped placing the books on the shelves and she flew towards me, she is the first one that I see that had a horn and wings at the same time, she must be important

“Oh, hey, you’re Night Wolf, right?” She asked

I was surprised she knew my name “Um, yeah, that’s me, how do you know my name?” I asked

“Oh, Pinkie told me there was a new citizen here at Ponyville and that she was planning a surprise party for him, and since I didn’t recognize you, I could imagine you were Night Wolf, so, what brings you to Ponyville?” she asked me

“Meh, nothing special, what does bring me here to your library is that I’m searching for your help” I said

She seemed confused

“Well… What do you need?” She asked me

“Well, you see… I want your help on using my magic” I said

“Well, using your magic is very simple, all we need to do is to see your Cutie Mark and then we will be able to see in what you can use your magic easily, so, show me your Cutie Mark” She said

“There is another problem… I don’t have a Cutie Mark” I admitted

I rolled my sleeve to show her, and she startled

“WHAT!? How can this be possible? Everypony must have their Cutie Mark at this age, why not you?” She said, she was kind of scared

I honestly didn’t know

“I don’t know, this is why I came to you, I heard you are the best with magic in all Ponyville, I thought you could help me” I said

She began to think, I guess my problem was pretty big “Mm… I can try, but first I must check on my books if there is something about a lack of Cutie Mark on a person, it may take a while, so for now, why don’t you go see Fluttershy? If I’m not wrong, you haven’t talked to her yet, I think you will like her, I’ll see you later” She said

Right after telling me this, she went to look around, probably searching for a book with the information she needed

“Ok, see you later Twilight” I said, but I think she didn't listen to me

I was kind of sad for not getting help with my magic, but I realized she was going to try, so it wasn’t a total failure, and there were Derpy and Vinyl, talking with Spike outside the house

“Hey Night Wolf! How did everything go?” asked Vinyl

“Yeah, did Twilight manage to help you?” asked Derpy

“Well, she said she was going to try, but she needed to check the books she had for a solution to my problem” I said

They got a little sad for my answer, I guess they really care about me huh?

“Oh, well too bad, maybe she will be able to help you later, but for now, I’ll have to leave you by yourself, I have some troubles with my house, oh, and you won’t be able of stay on my house, it’s undergoing some repairs, sorry…” Vinyl said

I was sad, Vinyl’s house was the only place I had to stay, but I guess I had to understand

“It’s ok Vinyl, I’ll find a place to stay for a while, don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine” I said, trying to make her feel better

She was worried, I could tell by the look on her face, so I gave her a good don’t-worry-smile so that she could calm down, she returned my smile with her own, and then she went

“Hey, Night Wolf” Derpy said “I also have to go, I have some work with the post office hat needs to be done, sorry, I’ll see you later”

“Ok, no problem, I’ll see you later!” I said and she also went

I really was on my own, so I decided to go to Fluttershy’s house…

“Hey Spike” I said, Spike was still around here

“Yeah? What do you need?” Spike asked

“Do you know where Fluttershy lives?” I asked, I didn't really know

“Oh, sure, she lives over there, just keep going and you will find her cottage” he said pointing at the direction from which I was coming

“Thanks Spike, see you later” I said, I wanted to make a good impression

“Sure” Spike said, then he went back to the library

After I said good-bye to Spike, I decided to walk to Fluttershy’s cottage.

After a long and lonely walk, well, not that lonely, I could say hello to Lyra and we talked a little, but still I was by myself, the good thing is that I could find Fluttershy’s cottage easily, it was a small cottage at the outsides of Ponyville.

I went to the front door and knocked the door once… no answer, twice… no answer… thrice… still no answer… maybe she wasn’t home, but then I heard a small voice around, it came from behind the house, maybe it was Fluttershy, so I went to see if it was her, and I saw a girl with wings, she had a beautiful pink hair which covered one of her eyes, she was on her knees, talking to some animals, but the way she talked to them was so… kind, so soft

I can’t explain why I had these thoughts in my mind, I never had them before, but she was different… she was special, so I decided to go and talk to her, I approached silently to not scare the squirrels she was talking to, when I was near her I talked

“Umm… hey” I said, softly

The girl got surprised and turned around fast, she looked kind of scared

“Umm… Hi…” she spoke quietly, I could barely listen to what she said

“I’m Night Wolf, I’m new here at Ponyville, nice to meet you” I said

Then she got up and began talking normally “Oh, your name has 'Wolf' on it? Wow, that’s a great name!” She said, it looked like she was beggining to like me

I was glad she talked normally, that meant she was starting to trust me

“Thank you” I said, giving her a nice smile

Then she got all shy again “Oh… sorry, I didn’t mean to bother you…” She said, softly

“Oh, no, there is no problem, I’m actually here to see you” I said

It seemed like my answer made her gain a little bit more trust, she managed to look at me

“Oh… well… my name is Fluttershy” She said

She was very shy, I could barely talk to her, I decided to gain her trust

“Umm… Fluttershy… what are you doing?” I asked

“Well… I’m just helping these little friends to eat” She said, quietly

Yes, that was a zone where I could help, I love animals

“Hey, can I help?" I said "I love animals"

Fluttershy’s face shined, she seemed pleased by my answer

“Oh, really? You like animals?” She asked

“Yes, I love animals" I said, sure about my answer "they are like little fellas who are there with you when you are alone, I used to be alone a long amount of time, so I stayed with some animals from time to time”

It looked like she finally was starting trust me

“Oh, that’s wonderful, could you help me?" She asked to me "I need some acorns for these little guys over here, they need to eat, but they broke one of their legs, can you get them for me?”

“Sure, I’ll get them right away” I said right before I went for those acorns

It didn’t take long to get them, they were not far and I could pick them up easily, when I got enough, I got back to Fluttershy, she was still on her knees, talking with the squirrels, she turned around and looked happy for me to return

“Oh, thank you Night Wolf" Fluttershy said, then turned around to the squirrels "look little fellas, my friend Night Wolf brought you some acorns, here, take them”

The squirrels then took the acorns and began eating, I was happy they could eat them, I guess Fluttershy noticed my happiness, because she looked at me, happy

“You know… nobody helps me with this…" She admitted "I rarely get help from my friends on this, and even more rarely they can help me properly… but you… I’ve just met you and you already helped me and thanks to you, we got food for these poor little squirrels, I don’t know why, but I feel like… I could trust you all of a sudden, you give me that feel of trust that no one else has ever done”

“I have to admit that when I saw you with those animals, I knew you were a good person" I said, I was getting a little bit shy "I don’t know why, but I felt like I had to meet you”

Fluttershy blushed a little, I was happy she trusted me, and that was a great advance

“Hey, do you want to come inside my house?" She asked "I mean, I need help getting these squirrels inside so I can take care of them properly, can you help me?”

“Sure" I said "I’ll help you”

I took gently some of the wounded squirrels and followed Fluttershy to her house, Fluttershy took some as well, we went to her house, she opened the door and we entered, her house was nice and cozy, we placed the squirrels on a pillow located on top of the table, the moment we left them, they fell asleep, and we decided to sit and talk

“So… Night Wolf, why did you want to see me?" She asked me "Did a pet of yours need help?”

“Well… no, basically, I wanted to see you, your friends told me you were a nice person and that I would like you" I admitted "so I came over to see you, and I will also have a question to ask you…”

She looked intrigued “Yes? What do you need?” She asked me

“Well… you see, I have been staying in Vinyl’s house, but now she can’t let me stay in her house because of some repairs or something" I said, hoping for her help "so… I wanted to ask you, do you know anywhere where I can stay? At least until I get a job and enough money to make my own house”

I could see she was thinking, and then she told me “Well… I don’t really think you will be able to rent a room since you just said you needed a job…" She said, still thinking "so… maybe you can stay here… well… if you want to…”

She was blushing, interesting, where did her trust went? But still, I had no other choice and this opportunity may not repeat

“Really?" I asked "Can I really stay here? Isn’t it too much trouble?”

“Oh no" She said "it’s not a problem, I actually have a room for visits, you can stay there”

I was so happy I found a place to stay

“Thank you Fluttershy!” I said

I couldn’t help it but to hug her, I was too happy, and I could see she blushed a lot when I stopped hugging her “Oh, I-I’m sorry, I-I’m just too happy! I couldn’t help it” I said, nervous.

I don’t know why she blushed so much, maybe… nah, it can’t be I thought.

Fluttershy was in a state of shock, she didn’t move, I was getting worried.

“H-hey, are you ok?” I asked.

She remained still for a while, a couple of seconds later, her blush began to lower until she went back to normal.

“Umm… sorry…” she said while she covered her face.

Looks like her shyness came back, so I decided to talk to her, to make her be more comfortable with me around.

“So… err… nice carpet you have there!” I said, pointing to the floor near her.

She looked at me, and then she looked where I pointed “Umm… there is no carpet there…” Fluttershy said.

“Oh, really?” I said, while scratching the back of my head “he he, my bad” I said, I was joking, just to make her laugh and feel more comfortable.

Fluttershy giggled “You’re funny” she said “Well… I think it’s time for me to show you your room, follow me… well… if you don’t mind…” she said, quietly.

She was still very shy with me, but she was super kind “Sure, I don’t mind” I said, she gave me a small smile over her shoulder.
When we were going up the stairs, I could see two doors, I knew one of them was mine.

Fluttershy moved to the second door on the second floor and opened the door, I could see the room, it was a nice room, it didn’t really have a lot of stuff in it, but that was ok.

“Here it is, this will be your room… well… if you want…” she said.

“It’s great!” I said, giving her a good smile so that she could know that I was happy with the room she wanted to give me.
“Oh, thank goodness, I was worried you wouldn’t like it” she said, relieved.

“It’s perfect, I love it, thank you Fluttershy, this really means a lot for me” I said, thankful.

The room was just perfect, it had a nice bed, a night table with a clock and a closet, it was obviously empty, but I could fill it with some clothes.

After checking my room, I went with Fluttershy, and we talked for hours, I don’t know why, but I liked talking with her, and so did she, or at least that’s what I thought.

I told her about my lack of Cutie Mark, and she, like everypony else, was surprised, she also told me how she got hers, it was an interesting story, basically, she fell from cloudsdale, a city that is made of clouds, and she fell to a forest filled with animals, at first she was scared, but then she discovered she actually liked animals, and that’s where she got her Cutie Mark.

Fluttershy explained to me what a Cutie Mark exactly was and that they take time to appear, but not as long as mine, but she told me not to worry, that I would get it soon enough.

Then, while we were talking, Pinkie Pie suddenly entered the cottage and went directly to Fluttershy.

“Hey Fluttershy! Do you want to come to Night Wolf’s par-tay? It’s his welcome party and everyone is going to come, even the princesses! It’s the first time the princesses come to a welcome party for someone, it just that Twilight talked to them and wanted them to come because Night Wolf doesn’t have a Cutie Mark and they were surprised by the fact he didn’t really have one and the wanted to see him in person which is why they will come and meet him in the party I’m inviting you to, which will be awesome, here, take this invitation so you can know where it will be and you can come to welcome him” Pinkie Pie said, very fast and it looked like she didn’t notice me.

“Umm… hello Pinkie Pie” I said.

“Oh, hi Night Wolf… wait… woah!!” and she ran and entered the refrigerator.

“What the…” I said, then I got up and decided to go to the refrigerator to get her out of it, but when I opened the door… she was not there, there was only food and common stuff…

“Huh!? But… HOW!?” I asked, amazed, confused and scared, all at the same time.

“Well… It’s Pinkie Pie after all, she usually does this, and I guess she didn’t notice you until you talked to her” Fluttershy said, not amazed at all.

It was incredible, that Pinkie Pie, just broke a law of physics, she did the impossible, but, judging Fluttershy’s face, I could assume… it was a normal thing for her.

“Well… at least she left the invitation, that way we can see where the party will be” Fluttershy said, then she took the invitation from the table.

“So… where will it be?” I asked.

“It says that it will be in Sugar Cube corner, at 8 P.M. of today” she said.

“Oh, good, then I should get ready, there are 4 hours left for the party to begin” I said, kind of exited.

“Oh, you’re right, but for now, I’ll stay with these little fellas, they may need my help, you should get some rest, looks like the party will take long” Fluttershy said.

And she was right, that party was going to be the longest party of my whole life… not that I had many before…
