My Little Enslavement

The rooster let out several loud crows to welcome the morning sun but soon stopped as he heard feed being tossed into the ground by its owners. “Good morning little guy, thank you for helping to wake up all the sleepy animals again.” Fluttershy gently patted the rooster and placed some extra seeds in front of it, which he quickly began to peck at. She was beginning her usual morning chores: feeding the animals, collecting chicken eggs and cleaning up unwanted waste.

Just as she was preparing a nice, warm bath for a brown bear she heard somepony’s wings flapping, followed by a loud thud coming from the front of the cottage. As she came around the corner she found a mail carrier, her face flat in the ground and letters scattered about. “Oh Derpy, are you okay?” She rushed towards the yellow haired pony and helped her up.

“Ohh… I just don’t know what went wrong. One minute I was perfectly fine then suddenly I spin out of control.” Derpy dusted herself up and bean picking up the letters, with Fluttershy’s help, and stuffed them back into her bag. “Now… why did I come here... Oh yeah, this is for you.” She placed her bag on the floor and began tossing out letters one by one, looking for the one she was supposed to deliver.

“Umm… is this the one?” Fluttershy held up a blue envelope with her name and address on it.

“Yep, that’s the one!” She scooped up the letters into her bag once more and secured it. “Yet another successful delivery from special mail mare Derpy. I bid you farewell, receiver of mail, I must go to my next adventure.” Derpy began to get a running start and soon took off to the sky once again, just barely missing a tree in the process.

Fluttershy looked at the letter and saw that it was from Discord.

“My dearest Fluttershy, I write to you today not to bore you about my latest trip to the great chasm, which I jumped over on a rocket powered motorcycle, but to invite you to a nice relaxing picnic. You see, over at the Everfree forest there are these magnificent little carnivorous plants that bloom out of flowers that I know you’ll enjoy. I do hope you find it in your heart to join me, I have included a map that marks out the area so you can find it. Yours truly, Lord of Chaos/Daredevil, Discord. P.S.: Don’t tell anypony else about this, they’ll probably say it’s too dangerous and think I’m evil. P.P.S.: If you happen see Twilight , tell her she smells <3”

The map he had sent looked more like a treasure map, but it seemed that he was thoughtful enough to show her the least dangerous way there. Her heart filled with happiness, she loved spending quality time with Discord and enjoyed hearing his stories. She rushed into her house and began packing but then heard the bear growl at her. “Oh… I’m sorry mister bear, I know I promised you a nice bubble bath but I don’t get to see my friend too often.” She went opened up a cupboard and pulled out a jar of honey, which she then handed over to him. “Here you go, I hope this makes up it. I’ll give you that bubble bath tomorrow, I promise.”

After filling a pack of sweets for them to enjoy, she followed the instructions marked out in the map. She decided to leave Angel home, he and Discord still didn’t get too along with each other. Once the clearing was in sight, she began looking for any signs of her friend but none were found. A nice cloth was set on the floor, a tree stump was being used as a table and a tea kettle was over a small fire pit. “Oh, I guess he went to get some more stuff for us,” she said to herself, ”maybe I’ll begin setting up as well, he’ll want to eat some sweets when he gets back.” As she began placing the different snacks she had brought a rustle from a bush caught her attention. “Hello….” Fluttershy peered in the direction and was surprised by whom came out.

Princess Cadance was covered in leaves and brances, as though she had trekked through the forest. “Oh, hello Fluttershy, I see you were invited as well.” She held up a blue envelope, similar to the one that Fluttershy had received.

“Princess? I thought Discord said to not tell anypony about this. Oh, I hope I didn’t read his letter wrong.” She had a bit of a panicked look but thankfully the princess was there to calm her down.

“No, he said the same thing on mine. I guess he only wanted to invite certain ponies for this event, though I’m curious to know how he knew about me being in town.” She went over to the tea kettle and opened the lid with her magic then placed a few leaves inside. “Would you like some? Discord mentioned about some special plant around the area that would make some wonderful tea, he just didn’t mention how difficult it would be to get.”

“Oh yes, that sounds lovely, thank you.” She pulled out a cup from her bag and served herself and the princess some tea. She quietly sipped it but noticed the princess was looking around the area. “I’m sure Discord will come back any minute, did he happen to mention where he went?”

“He didn’t,” Cadance replied with a smile on her face. “He’s not even here, I’m the one who sent you the letter. I needed you here, I needed you to be away where nopony will notice.” She used her magic to lift her cup of tea and poured it to the ground. “Also, thanks for dinking that special tea. The leaves I used make a nice sleeping potion.”

“I… I don’t understand. What are you talking about?” Fluttershy began backing away from the princess but her legs began feeling wobbly. She fell to the grass on her knees and looked at Cadance, her vision slightly blurred as her eyes began to close. “Why are you….” Was all she managed to say before she completely collapsed.

“Sleep well my dear Fluttershy,” said Sunset Shimmer as she walked out from the forest, “you have long days of training ahead of you.”
