Dark Turn

THE NOTE

It was another sunny day in Ponyville. and Fluttershy was on her way to the library also known as her closest friend twilight sparkles home, and where twilight planned for them to meet up for tea and to catch up on the latest gossip, books, or whatever they felt like talking about.

just last week Fluttershy finally gained enough confidence to confess her love to twilight, which was a very big deal for her.well not really confess, more like it slipped when she was deep in one of her romantic fantasies and blurted it out, but twilight took the news a lot better than Fluttershy had thought. of course twilight didn't jump around like pinkie pie does when a catchy tune is stuck in her head. but she was very happy with fluttershy's newest confession.

except for one small instance, Fluttershy didn't say anything about it in fact she noticed it long after their private celebration. but she did notice a certain cold and evil feeling coming from twilight like she was almost afraid of Fluttershy avoiding eye contact which was a problem fluttershy herself has been dealing with. plus the lavender mare seemed like she was kinda rushing to say goodbye. but that didn't matter to Fluttershy cause twilight said she loves her too. and that to Fluttershy is a whole new enchanting feeling that she wished had come sooner.

although they aren't dating yet only because they are great friends and neither of them want to do anything to ruin that or that might change things to much. not to mention Twilights parents recently going through a diverse. for many small reasons that twilight was tired of hearing her mother complain about. and now having royal and important duties. Fluttershy couldn't just let everything hit Twilight all at once.but Twilight said she is totally fine with all these big changes in her life and isn't worried about it, but Fluttershy still has her doubts about her lovers stress levels.

the walk to Twilights house seemed a bit longer then usual manly because Fluttershy couldn't control her day dreams and fantasies about the purple mare. which Fluttershy was very strict on keeping her thoughts age appropriate and as far away from the very detailed and a little disturbing stories rainbow dash told her about nights she had spent with her idol Daring Do. and filled her mind with romantic evenings and cuddling, every girls dream she assumed.

she sighed to herself, breaking her out of her wonderful daydream and into a much sadder reality. she then noticed she was standing a few feet from Twilights house.

Fluttershy had fantastic manors and knew never to interrupt somepony while their busy.

so before she knocked on the door she looked in the window.

"huh? odd there isn't a single light on in there."

Fluttershy just stood their staring through the window trying to see what was inside, it seemed like not even Celestia's sun could even make a dent in that kind of dark.

"well she wouldn't be reading in darkness, and she couldn't still be sleeping its almost lunch time, unless she is sick and trying to get some bed rest. but if she was sick she would have cancelled or sent spike to tell me she wasn't feeling well."

she let her curiosity get the better of her and she knocked on the door and called for twilight. (which was like a small whisper). no answer so she knocked again this time however with a bit more force which to Fluttershy was nothing more than a slight tap. and this time the door opened slightly. she noticed the door hadn't been closed or locked by its previous user which was very common in their small town, but twilight wasn't quiet used to a small town with very little crime so this was very odd. Fluttershy then opened the door as wide as it could go so she could let the light of the day brighten up the dark house at least enough for the main room to be slightly visible. all that could be seen inside the house was a long scroll on top of reading desk the corner of the room.

"twilight are you home the door was opened so I thought I would just come in, I hope your not upset with me, oh please don't be upset with me!" she yelled out but no answer. "twilight are you home! we agreed to meet up here, well at least angel said it was today. you know just how forgetful i can be!"

she quietly giggled to herself remembering how many meetings and important dates she has been late for because of her lack of focus. the small giggle only lasted a few seconds and even then it made the echoing silence that much more awkward.

after a minute of waiting Fluttershy began to grow impatient.

"oh! the scroll it might tell me why she isn't home" Fluttershy said to herself.

Fluttershy put down her saddlebag which was starting to get heavy even though it was only filled with two books she was returning and her umbrella just in case rainbow decided to prank her with a rain cloud. even though rainbow had never pranked her before she heard stories and would be prepared.

after setting her saddlebag down she trotted over and grabbed a match from the drawer of the desk which was stocked with everything anypony could ever need for late night studying. she grabbed the match with her teeth and lit it with her hoof after lighting the candle on the table were the scroll was. she began to read it at first to her self but after realizing what she had just read she yelled it out loud.

"Twilight Sparkles Suicide Note!"
