Vega

After waking up in the medical wing of E.F.Y.A., I was bombarded with questions from both aunt Alexia and Auriel. Most of them along the lines of 'How are you feeling?' or 'Are you okay? What happened?'. I had spent the majority of The evening answering to the best of My abilities, and had learned in the process that not only did I not break my instructor's bones, but utterly destroyed his ego and pride. This of course was welcome news for all three of us since according to Alexia, the man was a complete asshole, and deserved nothing less.

Once I was released, I had made his way back to the dorm, where I could finally be alone with Belecruu. Standing before the full body mirror, the onyx skinned entity appeared before me instead of my own reflection. The daemon smiled wickedly, revealing rows of razor sharp teeth, his forked tongue flicking out his maw every now and then. "Well today was most entertaining..." The daemon hissed only to get a nod in response. "You've improved mortal. The incompetent one known as Crowly, has learned a lesson in pain." He added as he continued to smile.

"I know... I was the one who did it remember?" I replied dryly standing before the immortal being of the Nether. "So what's on the agenda tonight?" I asked crossing my arms in mock boredom.

Auriel Lunae

1915 hours, Male Dormitory

Today had been very eventful for me as I silently walked down the halls of the dormitory, avoiding anyone's gaze if possible. Being my second day at E.F.Y.A., I was still nervous. This was my second time in the male dorm, and at this time, I could feel all eyes on me. Upping the pace, I made my way to room 1496. I could feel the blood rush to my face, as several boys pointed and spoke in hushed tones about a girl, no less a halfbreed in the dorm. I wanted to hide away, but pushed the feeling aside.

I know Mrs. Alba said that he was okay, but something just doesn't feel right... I thought as I passed a group of students that were making cat calls and lewd gestures. I could already feel my face burning with embarrassment from their perverse displays, but still pressed on. Once I had reached the end of the hall, I found the room I was searching for. Upon the heavy wood door displayed the numbers 1496 in brass inlay .

I raised my hand to knock but stopped when I heard voices from the other side of the door. I could immediately recognize Vega's, but the other for some unknown reason sent chills down my spine. It was deep and gravely, yet soft like a whisper. I let curiosity get the better of me, and put my ear to the door to listened in.

"..... So what's on the agenda tonight?" Vega said to the mystery person. There was a growl, and the other spoke almost in a whisper. Thankfully my hearing was above par, but I still had to strain to listen in through the solid wood door.

"Another time mortal... It seems our conversation is no longer private... Handle it any way you see fit. We'll speak again soon" The person replied. My blood ran cold as fear overtook me once again. How could he possibly know?! I screamed in my mind. Of course I didn't have time to come up with a possible answer, as the door swung inward, causing me to lose balance and fall face first.

Vega

1915 hours, Room 1496

Auriel hit the floor hard, with a low thump, laying there for a moment, letting out a low pained groan. I was startled at first until I realized who it was "Auriel? What are you doing here?!" I half shouted. Relieved it was only her, I bent down and grabbing a hold of her left bicep and pulling the girl to her feet. I had firm grip as i hoisted her up, before quickly shutting the door. I led her to the second bed soon after before outing on a serious face. "How much did you hear..." I asked, my tone now even.

Auriel simply looked to the floor, pulling a strand of hair nervously. A nervous habit I guess. After several moments she spoke "Not much really..." She replied quietly, hiding behind her long bangs. "Only the part where he called you mortal and that, the conversation was no longer private, and for you to... Handle it... Sorry..." She added, her eyes now misting up.

Immediately I let out an audible sigh of reliefe, before taking a seat beside her and wrapping an arm around her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. "You probably have a few questions..." I asked getting a small nod from Auriel. after a a while of hard thinking I spoke once more. "Okay, but you swear to me that whatever is said, stays between us and this room got it?" I said, my to even and firm as I got slightly energetic nods from her. Satisfied that she wouldn't rat me out, I nodded before adding "Well go on. Shoot." in a neutral tone. Belecruu had told me to deal with it as I saw fit, and for some reason, I felt as though he could trust the fine skinned girl.

Auriel had clearned her throat, mustering as much confidence as she could before speaking in a more audible tone. "Well.... Who was it that you were talking too and where did he go?" She asked, looking me in the eyes. She quickly averted her gaze adding "If you don't mind me asking that is..."

The display was too cute, I couldn't help but smirk at the display, as she played with a lock of her Burnish Gold hair nervously. Contemplating on how to explain it to her, I let out another sigh. Belecruu is gonna tourture me tonight... I thought before thinking of the best was of telling her. "His name is Belecruu, a daemon-" I began, Only to quickly be cut off by Auriel.

"A DAEMON?! WHAT IN THE NAME OF SELENE ARE YOU THINKING?! YOU COULD LOSE YOUR SOUL!" She practically shouted, shocking the hell out of me from the sudden outburst from such a timid girl. Seeing my reaction to her outburst, her face flushed from embarrassment, before shying away, hiding behind her hair once more. "Sorry... Please continue..." She said timidly, making me shake his head as I refrained from laughing.

composing myself once again i began once more "Right, as I was saying, He's a daemon contracted by the goddess to keep the balance." I explained getting nods from her, before continuing. "Belecruu contracted me to be his host, in order to keep the balance." I added, only for Auriel to give me a questioning look.

"But why you?" She asked getting a small chuckle, as I reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Trust me, I've asked the question numerous times, and he still gives me the same answer. I just learned to roll with it." I replied with a small smile. "As for where he went, He never really left. He can make himself visible in my reflection. If he chose to, he could probably show himself to you when you least expect it. Though I must warn you, his form is quite terrifying." I said with a tone of warning, wanting to prepare my only friend who is possibly afraid of her own shadow.

"Okay, why are you being so compliant? You could have just blew me off, and denied everything." She asked getting a nod from me as a reply. What was really confusing her was how calm I was telling her this. Even I'm surprised by this, as I have no clue why I'm so comfortable telling her this.

Thinking for a bit, I had come up with a truthful answer "Well, as you can tell, I don't have many friends, and I don't plan on losing you as one. So the way that I see it is, I should be honest and pray for the best." I replied casually, getting her to beam at the revelation.

For the next hour, I had answered all of Auriel's questions to the best of my ability, occasionally having to be vague on some of the answers, due to Belecruu hissing in my mind. By 2015 hours, we decided to call it a night, and Auriel returned to her respective dorm.

Time unknown, Vega's Subconscious

"You foolish mortal! Do you realize what she is capable of now that she possesses knowledge of our pact?!" Belecruu shouted. His form was partially obscured by the scenery he had chosen for Vega's dream, which was probably as creative as a brain dead ferret. The entirety of the realm was a dull grey, with a red mist floating about in the non-existent air. Ia just stood there with a look of annoyance as the daemon nagged.

"Can we please just get on with the lessons? we're wasting precious seconds in which I could be learning." I replied in annoyance. This had been going on for two hours which in reality could have actually been three seconds, or twenty minutes. I don't really understand it, but time has no place in the dream realm or as Belecruu called it "The Psygick Box".

With a huff, the Onyx colored daemon nodded, and his right claw ignited in red flames. "Very well Vega... Observe..." He growled as he shot his clawed hand forward towards the ground. Instantly, the flames began forming intricate circles with lines and glyphs bisecting and connecting until it was one solid mark on the grey floor. "Are you familiar with Arcana?" The daemon asked, only receiving a shake from my head as a reply. "I'm not surprised... Very few know of it's existence, and fewer know how to harness it. Arcana is a dead art. It has been eons since the knowledge was lost." Belecruu explained as several more of the circles appeared before him, as he traced the symbol in the air with his claws.

"This is an Arcane Circle. Tell me what you observe..." The daemon ordered as I studied it carefully. It was beautiful, how the lines and complex markings meshed together to create something so complex yet simple in design. Captivated by the display, I finally spoke. "An intricate web of perfect lines and circles, glyphs that I don't recognize, and a pulsing energy coming forth..." I said, bringing an unnerving smile to the daemons maw.

"Indeed... What you are seeing and feeling is mana in it's basic form. Mana is Power, raw energy drawn from ones own soul and harnessed." Belecruu explained as several glyphs appeared before him. "In order to understand Arcana, you must first learn to understand mana and the glyphs you see before you."

"Wait... Are you teaching me magic?" I asked confused interrupting the daemon as it drew more symbols in front of him. The daemon simply laughed at my ignorance. Suddenly, I felt a searing pain, engulfing my entire being as the symbols glowed a blood red. I wanted to cry out, but the pain was too much for me to even make a sound as blackened lines and markings trailed across my skin as seven blank arcane circles formed on the canvas that was me. Lying in the void of my own my as tears streamed down my cheeks. I had never felt so much pain before in my entire life. After what felt like an eternity, Belecruu spoke.

"Mortal, you've been using magic since you awoke that morning levitating above your bed." he said with a twisted smile, clearly enjoying the sight of me in agony. "These marks will allow you to properly channel manna. The more you channel, the more the lines will stretch across your being. The more powerful you are. And the more at risk you are at being corrupted by the power." He said as he watched me writhe on the ground. "Use the girl to keep you from corruption. If she is the friend you believe she is, then she'll do what is necessary..."

Wednsday, 0600 Hours, Male Dormitory, Room 1496

I awoke with my body completely sore, and my face and chest wet with a sapphire ichor. Cursing silently, I slowly slid from bed, feeling the blood trickle down the exposed skin. Each step I took, felt as if I were walking on hot coals, which only made me move quickly to the bathroom. According to Belecruu, what happens in Psygick box, has a bleeding effect in the material world. He never said that it meant I would literally bleed.

The cool tile of the bathroom floor, alleviated the burning sensation almost immediately. Disrobing myself, I quickly turned the shower on to a comfortable temperature, which happened to be ice cold. Belecruu, whatever you have done, it really sucks I thought before stepping under the icy shower. Sapphire blue, pooled at my feet as the cold water cascaded down my form, rinsing the blood from my face and chest, and soothing the burning sensation that enveloped my skin.

Steam began to rise from the hybrida's body, as the lines that had formed on my body within the Psygick Box, took form. Letting out a sigh of annoyance, I turned off the water with a flick of the wrist, as the knob was enveloped in psyonic energy. Stepping out of the shower completely dry, I stepped in front of the now fogged up mirror, despite the water's temperature, and observed the markings that now covered my body. Upon closer observation, I had found several circles similar to the one Belecruu shown me, only devoid of glyphs. "Interesting..." Was all I really could say before wrapping myself in a towel and made before making my way to the door.

0620 Hours, Male Dormitory, In room 1496

I sat in wait on Vega's bed, pondering what he might have learned from the daemon. after several minutes of waiting in silence, my concentration was quickly broken when I heard the shower turn off. After several more moments of silence, I heard the bathroom door creak open, as steam rolled out into the small hallway. Not wanting a repeat of the previous morning, I tightly closed my eyes and turned away, my already cheeks flushing red at the memory.

Hearing the door shut behind him, I fought the urge to turn to look at him. Oh please be decent, oh please be decent... I prayed. "Auriel?! What are you doing here?" Vega asked in surprise as he quickly shuffled to his bed. "Well, I guess better to have you over here now than later. You need to see this."

Twilight

Celestia's light shined through my bedroom window. slowly jarring me from my sleep. Groaning in annoyance, I turned over in order to avoid the early morning light only to get another ray come through the other window five minutes later. Slowly I threw off the covers, as I sat up rubbing the sleep from my eyes. Celestia, why do you deny me sleep I thought before slipping off the edge of the mattress. Shivers ran up my spine as soon as my feet touched the cold, hardwood floor. After a moment of stretching, and hearing several joints pop back into place, I slowly made my way to the bathroom before stripping to nothing but my birthday suit as my hand and horn ignited in a magenta aura as I turned the shower on. A couple of seconds later after I found a comfortable temperature.

I must say, despite it being a daily task, it was one I enjoyed the most as beads of warm water rolled off my lavender coat and skin as scrubbed my mane and coat with a generous amount of shampoo, getting ready for the day ahead of me. Twenty minutes had passed, and finally I turned the stream of water off. Steam floated about the modest sized bathroom as a result of the hot shower. Using my magic, I evaporated the rest of the water off of me while I went about tending to the more tedious tasks of brushing my mane and teeth.

After getting dressed, I made way way down to the kitchen to find Spike hard at work making breakfast for the both of us. Grabbing a cup of coffee, I found my seat and slowly took in the aroma of the black drink. "Sleep well?" Spike asked, breaking the silence as he flipped a pancake from the pan to a plate with several others stacked upon it.

After processing the question I took a drink from the dark bitter beverage before answering with an unladylike grunt. I had been hang around Rainbow Dash too much, as it seemed her attitude was starting to rub off on me. "I really need to hold off on the late night studying." I replied with a yawn as the purple scaled drake came over and set both plates down on the table before taking a seat himself. I simply thanked him with a nod as i levitated over a bottle of maple syrup and added a healthy amount. Spike on the other hand added a handful of crushed emeralds before drowning it in mapley goodness.

0900 hours, Golden Oaks Library Basement

After going over a rather short checklist, I decided to try my hand at a spell I had been wanting to try for some time now. Flipping to the correct page of Starswirl The Bearded's journal, compliments of Princess Luna from my last birthday. Upon the page was a diagram and list of materials to preform the spell. From what I gathered, The spell should allow me to enter the mind of another being from another world. I was bouncing giddily at the prospect of not only entering the mind of another being, but the potential of learning about their culture. Getting back to the task at hand, I set to work gathering the proper materials for the highly complex spell.

It turned out that the materials were quite easy to get a hold of and was already on hand here. The setup on the other hand was the hard and tedious part, as each line had to be perfect. It had taken me several hours, but in the end, it was worth it. Focusing my magic on the sigil before me everything started to fade from existence. There was a surge of energy as I felt my own consciousness leave my physical shell, and before I knew it, I was standing in a dull grey void as a red mist floated about. "Who the fuck are you?!"

Vega

Unkown time, Psygick box

I had been practicing swordplay with several shadow like entities when there was a blinding flash that took me by surprise. Once my vision cleared, what stood before was a bipedal creature that appeared to be female. She had a lavender coat, and looked like a hybridization of human and an earth horse despite the coat color. The other thing that seemed off that banished the Idea of hybridization from my thoughts was the long spiral horn protruding from her forehead. "Who the fuck are you?!" I practically shouted getting the being's attention.

"Oh wow! By Celestia it worked!" The being cried out smiling ear from ear which only proceeded to annoy me. I repeated the question once more.

"I said, who the fuck are you?! Now answer me before I feed you to Belecruu" I said with a slight growl not sure if she was a threat or not. Upon hearing his name, Belecruu stepped up behind me looking terrifying as usual. His smile quickly unnerving the mare.

She stood there staring at the two as the color slowly drained from her features. after several silent seconds, she managed to steel her nerves enough to reply. "My name is Twilight Sparkle. I am the personal-" She began only for me to cut her off by getting in her face.

"I asked for your name, not your resume." I said getting her to shy away slightly. "I'm going to ask you once, How and why did you enter my mind?" I added taking a step back figuring that she wouldn't try anything. Seeing her relax slightly she went on to explain herself.

**************************************

"And so that's how I got here" Twilight said finishing her story. I just stood there staring with my jaw hitting the floor at the prospect of other beings that not only knew how to use magic, but was completely normal. Realizing that she was finished, I quickly recomposed myself before summoning a couple of chairs. Being that it is my mind, I could do what I damn well pleased.

"Well since you answered my questions, I suppose I could answer some of yours since I have nothing better to do." Twilight seemed to beam with joy, since she could finally learn something new that nopony else knew.

"Well, let's start with the basics. What are you?" She asked taking a seat across from me while giving a appraising look.

"Homo-Celestius... Hybrida. A hybridization of human and Celestian." I replied before asking one of my own. "And what my I ask are you?" I could tell by the light blush on her face, that she was embarrassed for not fully introducing herself.

"Well, I'm a Unicorn Pony." she replied nonchalantly only to get me to more interested. "So hybridization, how did humans achieve that?" She asked getting me to smile this time.

"Well it all happened about a hundred years ago. You see Humanity was still young technologically, as we started colonizing other planets with our system. On Mars which is where I currently reside, Human soldiers found some alien ruins and went in to check it out. What was found was a goldmine of technology and knowledge, along with our greatest threat. As the history books put it, they found several rows of stasis pods full of alien creatures. How they woke up was never really explained, but they were hostile and attacked the soldiers. After quickly eradicating these aliens, the humans sent in their scientists and recovered the bodies and technology. While searching through their Databanks they learned not only the alien's origins, but also what they were. Currently known as Celestians. That was in 2187. By the year 2257 the first of my kind was created by taking human children from the ages of three to five by creating what is called a Retrovirus." I explained going into one of my favorite subjects; history. "Before you ask what a Retro virus is, it's an organism that is created by taking both the DNA and RNA of a creature and introducing it to another organism. From there the virus attaches itself to the others genetic code and rewrites it, effectively causing the organism to mutate."

"So your people isn't the result of Humans and Celestians copulating? Interesting" She simply stated before gesturing me to go on completely enthralled from the history lesson that was going on. Not wanting to keep her waiting, I continued.

"By 2262, The Celestians Invaded the human colony on the moon Titan. Our numbers skyrocketed as we were now being created to combat the fuckers and take back Titan. It was not until 2292 that we had killed the last of them and reclaimed Titan. By then, my people were seen as heroes and recognized as their own race. By then, Hybrida were breeding with one another creating what are called Purebreds or True Hybrida. Since then, the manufacturing of my kind stopped and I was born a year later." I said finishing the history lesson. "Although Superior than humans in some ways, we have our weakness. Humans are physically stronger than us, and have tenacity, what a lot of my kind lack in. On the other hand, we are faster, smarter, more agile and are extremely adaptive to our environments."

This went on for what felt like several hours as we learned more about each others peoples. Deciding that we both want to keep in contact, Twilight taught me the spell she used to link into my mind and had it bond to her. we also decided to do this about once a week, so we could share knowledge. After giving a final goodbye to the mare, I slowly left my mind to join the waking world once more.
