A Savior From The Stars. (A Halo: ODST Crossover)

Chapter Five: A Noble Sacrifice.

Canterlot train station was busy with the recently victorious pony army. Captain David sensed something was, off, he scanned the area and noticed a cloaked pony at the far end, hiding behind a corner of the building, looking as if they where waiting for somepony. He needed to hear what was going on. He marked the pony with his visor and targeted them for audio. He started to direct his troops transporting the prisoners to line them up at the train station. It was then he heard the pony talk as another pony walked up to the first hooded pony, he knew the voice instantly.

"Hello Commander Diamond Shield" Tenderfoot said "how are plans for tonight? How many ponies are loyal to the cause?" He continued, the ODST walked over to a bench and sat down, watching as his soldiers loyally fallowed his orders, good, he feared he would need their loyalty soon . He then heard Diamond Shield talk "it just you, myself, and four guards." He said calmly.

A chuckle came from Tenderfoot "good, I can't wait to see the pain on that humans face as I slay pathetic princess of the night, I might rape her first before I kill her, then I'll kill him too!" A chuckle came from Diamond Shield.

"We still have old Sun Butt and that damn sorry excuse for a pony Twilight. She should never have been given that power" Diamond Shield said "but a problem is that brother of hers. I'll kill him myself" he continued. " Tonight a new rule will rise" he paused for a moment " Let the black hand grip the sword, and may your strike be true" he stopped, and Tenderfoot finished "slay the demon, so that Gods may die." The both said "the brotherhood of Kings shall rise again."

Hidden to the world, David's eyes held hatred. He quickly wrote down a letter explaining what he just heard "Princess Celestia, I have grave news, I just discovered of a plot to kill you, Twilight, Luna, Shinning Armor and myself, two of the conspirers are non other than Tenderfoot and Diamond Shield. I'm making a plain to counter these enemy's to the crown. I believe they will strike at the strategy meeting tonight, I request that Luna is not informed, I will be sending my most trusted soldier to protect protect you and Princess Twilight, trust no one in the royal guard. As for Luna,  I will defend her myself. I want you to tell your guards my soldiers are for added protection with the enemy soldiers just brought in. You loyal Captain, David" he rolled it up, and wrote a spell on it and lit it on fire, sending it in a puff of magic.

It was now he called over his lieutenant over " Lieutenant   Braveheart, I have troubling news" he explained the situation, a look of anger burned in his eyes.

"Captain" Braveheart said. "I'll defend the Princesses to my last breath. What are my orders?"

David looked down and sighed, he motioned for a pony with pure plack fur, and a matching mane, by the name of Nightwings to come over to him. Turning back to Braveheart "you take Nightwings and go do security detail for Princess Celestia and Twilight" he said as he watched rest of his soldiers taking care of the prisoners. He mumbled under his breath "God I hate war".

-New Mombasa, October 20th, 2552-

"Master Chief" David said running up to the Spartan and helped him stand up " i heard on the radio you took down a corvette by yourself, not bad sir" the chief looked at him.

"Where's your unit?" He asked looking around, the Chief saw him look down.

"I've lost contact with Liberty shortly after landing, sir" David started but then heard his radio crack "this is ODST Fire Team Phoenix, we are pinned down by six ugly ass Hunters, need support over. Chief and David shared a glance and took off in Phoenix's direction. They where above the battle, and the hunters where right below him, David needed stopping power, he grabbed his anti materiel rifle and popped off its suppressor and started to open fire, four shots ran out. One down. The hunters next to him assumed it was the marines they had pinned, then another four shots, another down, Chief in the meantime had jumped down and fought two hand on hand, David quickly loaded boom boom boom boom, a third dropped, chief had dropped one and was in the middle of fighting the second when a rock came flying in and blew up the other. David looked up seeing at least 10 squads of marines getting out of pelicans. One picked up the Master Chief, who gave the ODST one last glance and nod, as like "good job soldier." Then flew up into the air.

Another pelican came to pick up David, he didn't know this but this would be the last time he saw earth, at least, with humans on it. The drop ship flew up and docked with Liberty, he figured there was a communication glitch, and that's why he lost contact. A voice came on over the PA system " all soldiers to cryo tubes, prepare for slip space departure." Without hesitation, he headed to his cryo tube but was stopped by the admiral, with a salute the admiral spoke "at ease, I heard of what you did on the battlefield, good job, Sergeant" and like that, David was promoted.

-back in Canterlot-

David stepped into to main hall with Luna, his heart pounding. He wore only the skin tight suit that ODST wore for "formal" events, mostly in front of superior officers or when receiving medals. The two traitors and the four he guessed as their cohorts stood at the foot of the staircase leading to the throne room. Once at her throne, Luna sat. And Tenderfoot began. "Princess, the recent battle that, that "thing" was proof that that monster is dangerous. I advise you" Celestia cut him off.

"SILENCE" Celestia bellowed in a voice that shook the very earth. "I trust David with my very life, his loyalty is true and pure, unlike you, you traitorous fith!"

It was then that tenderfoot lost it. He lunged up the stares but the other traitors were not with him. Davids soldiers and the personal guard already had them either in battle or captured.  David got between Tenderfoot and the princesses. Tenderfoots had thrusted his knife his into flesh, drawing fresh blood, Luna could only look on in horror...
