I stand upright and hold my head

as if it were made of glass

My manors are impeccable

But I really shouldn't boast

It's not like me.

To keep something above

another would be,

a most unforgivable action.

I love to receive gifts from others

in fact one seems to be

smitten to the point

that he simply cannot help

but give me all of everything he has,

As sweet as this is

I live to give

to allow someone something that they had not

would be something of a treat to me

and would not take a second thought

You see I have more than I need

where others might lack

even the simplest of things

to call their own.
