MondayView OnlineSpike's First Week Of SchoolMondaySpike groggily opened his eyes and looked around the room. For a second he didn't register where he was sleeping, and why he was not in his normal bed. But then he remembered the events of the previous week. How he had turned into a pony and Twilight Sparkle had legally become his mom. Rolling over and getting out of his new bed, he trotted downstairs. When he reached the bottom of the stairs he smelled the slightest bit of smoke. Running into the kitchen, he saw his mother trying to fan the smoke away with her wings while levitating a cook book and throwing what looked like a frying pan into the sink. "What the heck did you do mom?!" Spike yelled at her. "I was trying to fix you breakfast for your first day of school but while I was reading the cookbook it started to burn and I kinda freaked out" Twilight replied. "Well it looks like I'll have to eat cereal again" Spike answered going over to the pantry. Then he did as Twilight had taught him and channeled his magic towards the box and willed it to come down to him. After a few feeble attempts it levitated down to him and set down on the table. "Well down Spike" Twilight praised him "I only started teaching you magic four days ago and you can already levitate. Im impressed.". Spike just nodded his head and began to eat his cereal. He watched as his mom sat across from him and levitated an apple and began to eat it as she read through the cookbook. When he finished he levitated his bowl and spoon into the sink and walked into the main room of the library. He looked at the clock and saw he only had 5 minutes until he had to leave for his first day of school. Quickly he searched the room until he found his bag that his mom had given him for school. Putting it on he was about to run out the door when he heard twilight call after him. "Remember, Spike what's your name?" Twilight asked him. "It's Scribbler. Im a exchange student from Canterlot and Im staying with you until I go back" Spike replied. It had not been his or his mom's idea to pretend that him as a dragon was in Canterlot and that he was not himself. It had been Celestia's idea. That they would let Spike get use to life as a pony. He did not like the idea but he figured Celestia knew best. "Ok Spike, have a good day at school" Twilight called as he ran out the door. Once the library was out of sight did Spike slow down to a trot. Emotions swirled around in his head as he continued his journey towards the school house. He was excited, it was his first time ever really going to a school to be a student. Twilight had taught him different things but he never really got to learn with others. But like anypony would be he was nervous about school. Would he make friends? Would he fit in enough to reveal who he was? Would he do well? All these questions whirled around in his mind as he continued his walk. When he reached the schoolyard he surveyed the scene. He saw fillies and colts running around, playing games and talking to each other hoping to finish their weekend stories before the bell rung. Spike noted the crusaders over by the swings looking perplexed. He figured they must be thinking of ways to get their cutie marks. Spike wondered as he approached the door to the school if he could earn a cutie mark. But his thoughts were interrupted when he walked in and her a voice behind him. "Hello Spike, Im sure your excited about your first day of school" Spike whirled around to see Ms. Cheerilee behind him. "What how did you kno- wait no Im not Spike, Im Scribbler" Spike responded hastily. "No need for that Spike" Cheerilee answered "Twilight informed me of your um change and how your trying to integrate. But no worries I will address you to the class as Scribbler. They should be coming in soon. I'll have you introduce yourself to them". Spike nodded in response right as the bell rung. Spike watched as his new classmates filed in and sat in their designated seats. Cheerilee called for their attention and their eyes drifted towards the newcomer. Spike felt a bit put in the spotlight as they all stared at him but decided not to let it get to him. "Now students we have a new student here today" Cheerilee announced as if they didn't already know "Lets let him tell us a bit about himself.". "Well" Spike began "My name is Scribbler. Im from Canterlot and while I'm here I'm staying with Twilight Sparkle. And umm I like history." Spike told the class. The thing about history was most likely a lie. That was the main thing his mom had taught him and the main thing he liked learning other then magic. "Ok, Thank you Scribbler. You can sit down in the empty seat behind Sweetie Belle." Cheerilee said "Now lets start working on our math facts.". Spike walked towards the desk and sat down. He was between Diamond Tiara and Dinky, with Sweetie Belle in front of him and Featherweight behind him. Seating down he turned his attention to the board and focused as Cheerilee wrote up on the board simple multiplication problems. Spike listened as Cheerilee explained to the class how to do these problems. Spike, already knowing how to do them, let his mind drift off as he thought about all his questions. Why where they learning multiplication now? He had learned how to do this three years ago. He could do more difficult equations and he was stuck learning simple multiplication. "Well I see our new student has become bored with my lesson" Cheerilee said "Would you like to tell me and the class why Mr. Scribbler". When Spike realized she was talking to him, he felt immediate dread. "Umm well you see Miss. Cheerilee, I already know this, I can do advanced multiplication." Spike responded. "Really then would you care to tell me what 136 times 45 is" Ms. Cheerilee demanded. Doing the math in his head Spike answered "Six thousand, one hundred and twenty". "That is correct" Cheerilee answered "Good job Scribbler, but I still expect you to pay attention". Returning to her lesson she continued to talk. Spike turned his attention back to the boring lesson until he felt something hit him on the side of the head. He looked over at Diamond Tiara and she cast him a smirk and pointed at the paper. Grumbling, Spike turned his attention to the paper and opened it, inside it read 'You smart new colt. At lunch come see me at my table'. Spike turned to Diamond expecting answers to only see her turned towards her friend Silver Spoon. Deciding he might as well see what she wanted he decided to go see her at lunch. Spike say quietly and payed attention through the rest of math, science (astronomy, that he caught up easily), and history (The Griffon wars of 3451-3709, he already knew about it. But he still had to continue with that section) before lunch finally came. Spike simply got up, and got his lunch out of his bag and walked outside. He looked around for an open table and saw Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon waving him over. He trotted up cautiously and sat down across from them. "Hello Scribbler right" Diamond Tiara asked. "Yeah" Spike answered. "Well since your new I thought we could talk" "About what?" "Oh many things like, your staying with the Princess" "Yeah, but don't expect any favors" "Oh she went out of style awhile ago. I mean if she was a real Princess she would like in a castle." "Yeah sure" Spike said trying to keep his voice leveled. "Yeah and so what's your cutie mark" "I don't have one yet" "Oh.... well that's to bad" "So let me guess you don't want to continue talking to me?" "Oh your funny, why in Equestria would I do that" "Oh no reason" "I want you to be our friend." "Oh well thanks Diamond" "No problem. We'll tell you the rules tomorrow". Silver Spoon nodded her head at Diamonds Tiara proposition. Spike just opened his lunch and ate quietly as Diamond yakked on. He turned around and saw Sweetie. Scootaloo and Applebloom watching him. At seeing him noticing them the turned away and pretended to be in a deep conversation. As he finished his sandwich he heard the bell ring. Throwing away his trash he walked back into the classroom and sat down. "Now students it's time for silent reading. Get out your books" Cheerilee called as the class walked in. Spike went and looked in his bag fearing that he had not brought a book. But thankfully being the son of the queen of books, he found one in his bag. Taking it out he began to read when heard someone whispered to him. "Pst, pst, pst" Turning to his left he saw Dinky trying to get his attention "What?" Spike whispered to her. "It's not a good idea to become friends with Diamond Tiara if your a blank flank" Dinky whispered. "I know what im doing. She doesn't seem that bad' "You'd be surprised" Dinky whispered and turned back to her book. Spike looked at the cover "Time Travel: Could It Be Real?". Shaking his head he turned back to his book wondering why the heck would she be reading a book like that. The rest of the day passed in a blur, all that was left was art anyway. Spike had to admit though art was not going to be his strong point. His painting of a flower looked more like a blob of yellow and green. As he packed up and put on his bag he heard to pony calling him. He turned around Diamond Tiara and Sweetie Belle calling for him. He didn't know exactly who to go to. So he just pretended he had not heard either and left. But he and The Crusaders had the same route home. So he ran into them. anyway. "Hey new kid" Scootaloo called. "His name is Scribbler dingleberry" said Sweetie Belle. "Don't you two start" Applebloom said. "Hello" Spike answered them. "We just wanted to welcome you to school and give you a warning" Scootaloo said. "Stay away for Diamond Tiara, she's a royal pain in the butt" Applebloom said. "Especially since your a blank flank like us" Sweetie Belle said. "Umm ok but I don't need a war-" Spike began before he was cut off. "Wait Sweetie you knew he was a blank flank and you didn't tell us" Scootaloo said. "Well it's obvious isn't it Sweetie" Applebloom said. Before they could question him further Spike ran towards home. He opened the door and closed it behind him. He noticed Twilight levitating numerous books around her with a perplex look on her face. Deciding it was best to leave her alone Spike headed towards the kitchen and started his homework. Just as he was finishing up his conclusion on the Griffon general's tactics for the war of Clousdale did his mom walk in. "How was your first day of school dear" Twilight asked walking over to the pantry. "Fine, it was easier then expected" he replied. "Really why?" Twilight asked levitating numerous objects and food around her. "Well half of it you had already taught me. I think I made some new friends too" "Really who Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Applebloom. Right?" "No, im kinda already friends with them" "Not really, so um Dinky then?" "No she's weird" "Why do you say that?" "Well with parents like her's what would you expect" "Derpy and Doctor Whooves are nice ponys" "Yeah sure anyway, it's Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon" "Really are you sure Rarity and Applejack said that they seem to tease Sweetie Belle and Applebloom" "I didn't see them do that today" "Well whatever you say Spike" Twilight said placing the soup she had been making on the table. Sitting down they ate dinner. "So how was it" Twilight asked hopefully. "You went a bit overboard on the flavor, But you didn't burn it" Spike responded. "Ha ha ha. Your hilarious. Now go get ready for bed." "Fine" Spike said getting up from the table and heading upstairs. As he laid in bed after Twilight had turned of the lights, he stared at the ceiling, wondering was it really a good choice to become friends with Diamond Tiara. But before he could decided an answer sleep came along with Luna's dreams.
TuesdayView OnlineSpike's First Week Of SchoolTuesdayThe next morning as Spike reached the bottom of the stairs, he readied himself for the smell of smoke, but was surprised to smell none. Walking slowly towards the kitchen, peeking his head in he expected to see- well he didn't know what to expect. But was surprised to see cereal and milk already sitting out on the table along with a note. Spike, Celestia needed to see me immediately in Canterlot. Sorry I couldn't say have a good day to you in person but duty called. I should be home before dinner. -Mom Spike just shrugged at the note and went and made his breakfast. As he sat munching on his cereal he began to think a bit more about what his mom had told him the night before about Diamond. Spike knew that there was apparently a history with them and they had said that mean thing about his mom yesterday. But everyone has a mean streak in them. But on the other hoof when he told them he was really just a dragon who had turned into a pony, they may have had a different reaction. Spike still debating what to do when he looked at the clock to see what the time was. Seeing he should have left for school a few minutes ago, he threw his dishes in the sink, threw on his backpack and ran out the door all the way to school. As he approached the schoolhouse he looked around the schoolyard looking for a place to wait for the bell to ring. He saw the Crusaders running around doing who knows what, Dinky was sitting on a bench reading another huge book and then there was Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon by the swings. The first to notice him was Diamond who waved him over. As he walked over to them he noticed out the corner of his eye, Dinky looking up over her book. He saw shaking her head as if to tell him not to acknowledge them, but Spike continued over to the pair. "Scribbler, it's so good to see you" Diamond said to him. "Hey umm I guess its good to see you too I guess" Spike answered. Diamond laughed and said "You are so funny, isn't he Silver Spoon" "Huh oh yeah he's so funny, hahaha" Silver Spoon answered Diamond. "Anyway we need to tell you the rules you need to follow to be in our group" Diamond began but before she could continue the bell rang. "Oh well you'll have to tell me at lunch then Diamond" Spike said as he headed towards the door. Entering the classroom now as a whole was chaotic. As Spike seemed to have to push his way to the back to put his bag away and then again to get to his seat. Sitting down he turned his attention to the board. Once again he listened to Cheerilee explain what to do and then handed out a paper. "You have twenty minutes to finish the worksheet. If you finish before then turn in the paper to me and then you can read" Cheerilee told the class as she passed out the worksheets. Spike levitated his pencil ready for the worksheet and as expect, they where all simple problems. He finished them in mere minutes and went up to Ms. Cheerilee's desk and handed the paper to her. He headed back to his and noticed that a few of his classmates where looking at him surprised at his quickness in finishing the problems. When he reached his desk he sat down and opened his desk and took out his book. As he began to read he realized it wasn't the same book as yesterday. Looking at the title he saw it was "History of The Solar Empire", Spike knew he had not put that book in his bag. He had kept the same one in as yesterday, but apparently his mom had changed it out for a more informational book. Signing he opened the book and hoped no one notice and tease him about it. Before he knew it Cheerilee told everyone to stop and turn in their papers. Putting away his book he looked towards to Cheerilee wondering what he would be learning now. "Now class today were going to be looking over the different constellations. These will be on your test so pay close attention" Cheerilee said "Scribbler can you please pass out the papers". "Sure Ms. Cheerilee" Spike answered. Walking up and taking the papers and began to pass them out. When he finished he sat back down and listened to Cheerilee drone on for an hour about the constellations. "Now can anyone tell me how the constellations where formed" Cheerilee asked. Dinky's hoof was the only first to fly in the air. "Yes, Dinky" Cheerilee called on her. "Stars are formed in clouds of dust and gas in space but because the clouds become unstable and start to collapse. The material in the center begins to heat up from the pressure, and this is want eventually become the star" Dinky answered. "Sorry Dinky, while that is an imaginative response, that is not the answer" Cheerilee responded as some students began to giggle at Dinky's stupidity "Anyone else, Scribbler". "Well" Spike said as he was called on "Luna makes the stars and constellation". "Good job Scribbler" Cheerilee praised him. "That's wrong!" Dinky shouted out "My dad told me that's how stars are made". "Well Dinky he is not an expert and everyone knows that Luna made the stars" Cheerilee responded with the sound of annoyance in her voice, "Well then everyone is stupid and wrong! My dad knows more about space and the galaxies in his screwdriver then all Equestria put together" Dinky yelled again. "Dinky we go over this all the time, I know you have a big imagination but that is not true. Now please calm down are I'll have to have another meeting with your parents" Cheerilee said again trying to keep her voiced leveled. "Yes Ms. Cheerilee" Dinky responded. "Good now back to class" Cheerilee said turning around " Pass last nights homework up to the front and we can began are lesson". Spike looked over at Dinky and heard her whisper "Your all wrong" Shaking his head Spike turned back to the front and listened about how the Griffin's made one big mistake that cost them the war. When lunch finally came everyone seemed to run outside as if their life depended on it. Getting up and getting his lunch, Spike headed outside and towards Diamonds table. Sitting down he began to eat and listened as Diamond told Silver Spoon about her latest toy she had gotten. He was almost done with his lunch before she noticed him. "Scribbler, I didn't notice you where here" Diamond said in what seemed like an apologetic tone. "Obliviously" Spike said under his breath. "What was that" Diamond asked him. "Nothing" "Good anyway its time to tell you the rules. Now rule one, don't become friends with the Cutie Mark Crusaders" "Wait why, I think they don't seem so bad" "That's what they want you to think. Rule two, don't even TALK to Dinky" "What, why that" "Didn't you hear her in class today, she's a complete nutso. Rule three that applies to you right now, if you don't have a cutie mark, get one as soon as possible. For that one Spike had no objection. But he still sat there wondering, could he even get a cutie mark. Before the rules where further discussed the bell rang signaling for class. As Spike entered the class room he began to think maybe he shouldn't continue this friendship with Diamond Tiara. While he was supposed to be reading his book, he sat at his desk weighing the options of a friendship with Diamond. On one hoof, he would be considered popular, but on the other hoof that didn't make up for having other friendships. But while running his laps during gym he decided the best option was to terminate his friendship with Diamond. When he went back to class he ignored once again Diamonds wave and just walked out of the school. Walking home was a bore. He had half expected to see the Crusaders but they where apparently off crusading. When he reached the library he went inside and just like the day before he did his homework. But when he finished, his mom was still not home. So he began to read the book that Twilight had stashed in his bag. He was almost done with the first chapter when he heard the door open. "Spike, I'm home. I got some food" she called. Walking in the kitchen she plopped the bag onto the table and turned to Spike "You will not believe the day I had" she said. "Tell me about it" he said as he took out his tofu burger. "Well apparently the Griffins wanted to rewrite the treaty we have but of course Discord thought it was a perfect day for a prank......"
WednesdayView OnlineSpike's First Week Of SchoolWednesdaySpike was beginning to see why so many fillies and colts disliked school. Before he had turned to a pony he would have to wake up around eight or nine. He used think that was horrible but waking up at seven was even worse, but of course not as bad as winter wrap up. When he got out of bed he stretched and mumbled to himself about how tired he was. Stumbling down the stairs he went into the kitchen and saw his mom sitting in her seat sipping coffee. Glad to see she had given up cooking, he went and got himself cereal. "So, Spike how do you feel your fitting into the new environment" Twilight asked him. "You mean school right?" Spike asked her. "Oh yes, of course. How do you feel your fitting in?" Twilight asked again. "Great" Spike told her. "Are you sure?" "Yep, could tell them today I was a dragon and I'm really Spike" "Well you can do that Friday. We need to make sure" "Don't worry 'bout it. I'm fine" "If your sure" Twilight said, looking at the clock she said to him "You better get going". Nodding his head, Spike got up, grabbed his bag and ran out the door. As he was trotting to school he saw the Cutie Mark Crusaders were only a few steps ahead of him. "Hey guys, wait up" he called. "Hmmm, oh hey new ki- Scribbler, I mean Scribbler" Scootaloo said as the three slowed down for him to catch up. "Hey, so I was wondering, since you know you guys are, you know are searching for your cutie mark and stuff if maybe I could join you one day" Spike asked them. "Well you don't have a cutie mark and we could always use some extra ideas. I guess you could do some crusading with us sometime" Sweetie Belle told him. "Yeah you could give us some of 'ur fancy, Canterlot ideas" Applebloom added. " I really don't have many fancy ideas, but I have some ideas" Spike told the three. "Well, we can talk about them at lunch today. I mean if your not going to sit with Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon" Sweetie Belle said adding emphasis on Diamond Tara and Silver Spoon's names. "Nah, I don't think I'm going to hang out with them" He told them. "Good, there both a bunch of brats" Applebloom said. The four continued their conversation, on whether or not they'll ever find their cutie marks until they got to school. Before Diamond Tiara could have had a chance to look for him, the bell rang and the school day began. Spike sat down in his seat and took out a pencil. He could hear Diamond Tiara trying to get his attention, but ignored her. Cheerilee once again handed out a paper on multiplication, but this time it was two pages, front and back. "Ok, class no instructions today, just practice. You must work together in pairs or in teams of three" she said. Spike noticed she seemed a bit frazzled, but she was a teacher after all. She probably was just tired from grading and such. Diamond tried to get his attention again but Spike ignored her again. He looked in front of him to see the crusaders working together. He turned to his left and saw Dinky with no partner. "Hey, Dinky want to be partners" he asked her. "Uh sure" she said "But wouldn't you rather work with Diamond Tiara". "Nah, I think I'm gonna tell her she can find another pony to be her new crony" he told her. He watched as Dinky held back a laughed but nodded her head in approval of being his partner. The pair worked together and the entire time he could feel Diamond Tiara's glare. He and Dinky working together finished the problems surprisingly fast, even though Spike had to explain to her sometimes what to do, but that was fine with him. When the finished the gave their papers to Ms. Cheerilee and sat back down. Dinky took out another book, this time about space and Spike, trying to keep Diamond Tiara's attention away by reading his. Soon math was over and it was time for science. "Now, class today were going to talk about the moon" Cheerilee spoke. "Now as Luna raises the moon, depending on what day it is, she will show from only a sliver of the moon to the entire moon, know as the full moon. Luna's moon also effects the tides of Equestria as well. Now would you all turn to page 154 in your science books, read pages 154 to 161". The class all opened their textbooks and read the assigned pages. "Now for homework tonight all of you are to answer the questions that go along with the section" Ms. Cheerilee told the class. Some of them groaned but all wrote it down in their books. Then, the history lesson began on The Battle Of Fillydelphia. It was a boring lesson. Not much really happened during the battle. Equestria retreated but about three months later they would regain Fillydelphia. Then finally, much to Spikes delight, it was time for lunch. He grabbed his lunch and hurried outside to the schoolyard. He went over to the table that he saw that the crusaders normally sat at. "Hey girls" he said as he sat down, "Hey Scribbler, we where just writing down some ideas for ways to get our cutie marks" Applebloom said "Have any ideas" "Well, maybe we could-" but Spike was cut off before he could finish his sentence by cruel laughter. He turned around to see Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon laughing at them. "Oh this is rich, almost as rich as me! The Cutie Mark Losers are talking to are friend Scribbler" Diamond said in a mocking tone "Why in Equestria would he help you with something as stupid as helping you earn your cutie marks. Come on Scribbler, you don't need to sit at this loser table. You it with us" Spike looked at the crusaders looking at Diamond Tiara. In their eyes there was hatred but also embarrassment. No way was he gonna let those bullies push them around. "No" Spike told them firmly. "Excuse me?!" Diamond asked him. "Your excused. But no way, NO way can you treat them like that Diamond. Those are my friends and your just being a jerk" Spike told her. "What in Equestria are you talking about Scribbler" Diamond Tiara growled. "You heard me, they are my friends and your NOT gonna mess with them. And you better stop being mean to Dinky. Just cause she doesn't always make sense doesn't make her CRAZY" Spike yelled at her. "I.. I.. I CAN"T BELIVE YOU I TREAT YOU SO NICLY NEW COLT AND YOU STAB ME IN THE BACK! I CAN'T BELIEVE I THOUGT YOU WERE CUTE. UGH, I SPENT MY TIME ON YOU FOR NOTHING" Diamond yelled, then with a hmp she turned around and with Silver Spoon stalked away. "Wow, that was AWESOME" Scootaloo said. "I can't believe you stood up to Diamond Tiara for us" Sweetie Belle said. "You definitely deserve to be a Cutie Mark Crusader" Scootaloo said. "Really" Spike asked. "Definitely" Applebloom said. The four laughed and for the rest of lunch talked about the new induction of a new crusader. "We will definitely need to re-write that induction speech" Scootaloo said. "Your right Scoot, that will be your job" Applebloom told her. "What!" Scootaloo replied as the three others laughed. But before she could argue about it the bell rang and the four headed back to class. "Thanks for saying that about me to Diamond Tiara" someone said from behind Spike. He turned around and saw it was Dinky. "It was nothing" he told her. "Not to me" Dinky replied and then ran inside. The last class of the day was art again and once again Spike did horribly. As he was packing up he looked at his latest drawing and stuffed it in the bottom of his bag and put his backpack on. He headed home and once again, with no company. When he reached the tree house he could hear his mom humming to herself. Most likely doing her royal duties. He just headed upstairs to his bedroom. Sitting on his bed he looked around his small room, it used to be a closest, and saw how bare it was. His mom had done it quickly and he hadn't really cared to decorate anything yet but he realized how plain it was. It had a simple bed and nightstand with a lamp. There was a single bookshelf with a few of his favorite books, but nothing else. Maybe at dinner he could bring it up, but he didn't want to bother his mom. Deciding he would mention it he got back to his homework. Make that two things he now knew why his classmates disliked school.
ThursdayView OnlineSpike's First Week Of SchoolThursdayThe next morning as Spike munched on his cereal, he let his thoughts wander. Becoming a Cutie Mark Crusader seemed like an exciting event, at least to Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo and Applebloom. But the thoughts of whether or not he would even be able to earn a cutie mark still danced in his mind. He had been a dragon, but now he was a pony. Was it just a spell that changed his appearance, or was he truly a pony. He had yet to get anything along the lines of x-rays to see if he had pony autonomy, so it was a possibility. "Spike, dear, did you hear me?" Spike heard Twilight's voice ask him. "Huh, no, could you repeat what you said" Spike asked his mom. Sighing she nodded her head and said "I said I need to take you to the doctors today. I'm going to pick you up sometime during lunch". "What? I'm going to miss school. What about the work I'll miss? You never missed a day of school" Spike questioned his mom. "Clam down Spike, you'll just have to get your missed work from Ms. Cheerilee" Twilight answered her frantic son "Now you better start to head off to school or you will be late". Nodding his head Spike got up and grabbed his bag and headed off for school. Along the way he ran into Sweetie Belle. "Hey Scribbler, are you excited?" Sweetie Belle asked when she saw him. "About what?" He answered, confused. "Duh, about your Cutie Mark Crusader Induction, tomorrow after school" "Oh, well then yeah" "I can't wait either! The last time we inducted someone was Babs Seed. Who knows when you go back to Canterlot you could start the Canterlot section!" "Heh yeah sure, I guess" "Yeah, to think, we'll have another member" Spike nodded his head but then realized something "Hey why isn't Dinky a crusader, she doesn't have her cutie mark?" "Uh, well I guess we just never thought to ask her. I mean she always reading her books and by herself. I mean I guess we could ask her" Sweetie Belle answered as the pair approached the schoolyard. As they passed by Diamond Tiara, Spike heard her whisper 'blank flanks'. It looked like Spike was not on Diamond's list of targets. But he didn't really care, when he saw Dinky he grabbed Sweetie and pulled her over to the filly. "Hey Dinky we have a question to ask you" Spike said to his friend. "Oh, what is it Scribbler" Dinky asked, directing it mainly at Spike. Nudging Sweetie to ask her to join, he heard Sweetie take a breath and started on her sepal "So Dinky, me and the other crusaders, including Scribbler, where wondering if you would like to join The Cutie Mark Crusaders seeing as you don't have a cutie mark. Were inducting Scribbler tomorrow after school and want to know if you want to be inducting as well?". "Well sure, I could always use some socialization with ponies my age, instead of ponies hundreds of years older then me" Dinky answered "I would be honored to become part of your group". Spike and Sweetie ignored the bit about ponies her age and congratulated her. Soon the bell rang and the went inside to the school house. The school day was similar to the days before. Nothing excited really happened. Math was another worksheet, astronomy was more about the moon and during history, they went over the conditions of the forts during the war. Soon lunch arrived and Spike waited for his mom to arrive to get him for his appointment but with the new induction coming up, the crusaders table was full of excited babble. Dinky now was sitting at the table instead of on a bench reading her book. So there was now an extra mouth in the conversation. "So when should I show up?" Dinky asked the three main crusaders. "Don't sweat it. Just come with us after school tomorrow" Scootaloo replied. Spike just nodded along, he didn't really have that many questions. He was mainly waiting to leave. Before lunch he asked Ms. Cheerilee for the work he would miss, but their was none. So all he could do now was sit and wait. But when he finally started to become included in the conversation when of course the time when his mother arrived. He had heard a few of his classmates start to whisper to each other, a few others started to seal in excitement but most of them just where quiet. Turning around he saw his mother land by the edge of the school. "Bye guys, I have to leave early" Spike said turning towards his friends. "Aww that's too bad, why?" Dinky asked him. "I have to go to the doctors" "Oh well bye" Sweetie Belle said to him. Nodding he got up and ran over to his mother. She levitated him onto her back and flew off. They couldn't really carry a normal conversation while flying, but they attempted to. "So how was school, dear?" "Fine, where we headed?" "Canterlot, your going to see one of the castles doctors, just in case your still a dragon on the inside" "Oh well I guess that makes sense". The rest of the journey was like this and as the landed, Twilight hit her face with her hoof and said "I could have just teleported". Spike just laughed and Twilight gave him a look that should have been menacing, but they both ended laughing instead. The pair walked down the hallways and soon reached a small office by the hospital wing of the castle. Knocking on the door Twilight asked "Dr. Smith, can we come in?" A muffled colts voice came from behind the door "Come in" Twilight led in her anxious son into the office. When Spike had been a dragon he had not partially liked doctors. They had sometimes been too afraid to even touch him at times. This Dr. Smith did not ring any bells. But when Spike saw the doctor, he saw a colt with a brown coat and slicked back black hair. On his flank a cutie mark of a stethoscope. "So, Spike Sparkle, an interesting patient, a dragon turned pony. Today where just going to get some x-rays and see how your insides look. Now follow me as we go into the room next door" He said looking at Spike. Spike just nodded his head and got up and followed the doctor. He led him into a room with another door leading into another room. Between the rooms was a sheet of glass. their was a control panel full of buttons and inside the other room a projector like object hung from the ceiling. "Now please step into the other room and stand, with your side facing the camera" the doctor instructed Spike, he than handed him a coat like thing and told him to put it on. Spike just followed the doctors instructions without a word as he stood in front of the projector. After a few minutes, the doctor told Spike to some out and wait for the results to come in. After a few minutes, Twilight went in with the doctor to look at them. When the pair came back out and Twilight went over to her song and hugged him. "Your x-rays reveal that you are a full pony, inside and out" Twilight told him. "Really?" Spike asked. Laughing Twilight replied "Really, now lets go hone". Thought this time she teleported home instead of flying. When they arrived home, Twilight went into the kitchen to make dinner and Spike began working on his homework. Feeling more like a normal pony then ever.
FridayView OnlineSpike's First Week Of SchoolFridayWhen Spike woke up the next morning he felt a pit in his stomach, metaphorically speaking. He didn't know why he was worrying about this now. As earlier he was fine with telling everybody. But now he was nervous. All types of possibilities of who his friends and classmates would react. The crusaders would most likely be intrigued with the fact that he had become a pony. But what if the weren't. What if they didn't want to be his friend anymore and decided he was not fit to be a cutie mark crusader. And there was Dinky as well. Just because she was kinda weird doesn't mean that she would still want to be his friend. What if she was angry that he lied to her about himself. There was Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, but they would probably just use it as another insult or a way to tease him. Spike just sighed and told himself to calm down, he would have to tell them eventually, he couldn't go around for the rest of his life as Scribbler. Walking downstairs and into the kitchen, he saw Twilight was reading through what looked like another cookbook. As he went and got himself some cereal he said to her "Mom are you thinking about cooking again because we both know that won't turn out well" "Cooking is just doing what a book tells you. It can't be hard im just doing something wrong" Twilight replied. "Not everyone can cook mom" Spike said rolling his eyes. "Spike, I was one of the best unicorns as magic and because of that I became an alicorn. I think I can handling boiling a pot of water" Twilight said. "Whatever you say mom" Spike said. Going back to his cereal and worries. It was not long before he was heading to what felt like his doom. The closer he got to the schoolhouse the bigger the pit in his stomach seemed to grow. The first thing that happened when he finally reached his destination was an ambush. "Scribbler are you ready!!!??" Scootaloo screamed after she had toppled Spike over. "Ummm I guess" Spike answered still dazed. "You guess?! You should be excited!" Scootaloo yelled at him. "Yeah, yeah ok im ready" Spike said. He was ready for his induction, but was he really ready to tell the truth. After getting up he slowly walked away from Scootaloo after she saw Dinky enter the schoolyard. Heading inside to the classroom, he could at least spend some time figuring out what to say. "Spike, are you ready to tell the class who you are?" Cheerilee asked him when he walked in. "As ready as I'll ever be" Spike responded as he sat down in his seat. It was not long before the bell rang and his classmates filed in. After they all took their seats Cheerilee said " Are new student has something he needs to tell us" Everyone turned their eyes to Spike and he gulped. Calling forth his courage he walked to the front of the room and took a deep breath before he began. "Earlier this week I was introduced as Scribbler and an exchange student from Canterlot. But the thing is I lied." Spike said, he could already hear some of his classmates whispering. " You see Im not that at ALL. My name is Spike and all of you know me already. I was Spike the dragon, but now Im Spike the pony a magical accident happened leaving me a pony. It was decided I would try to integrate into the school before I was reviled to who I was. I hope you all will not look at me any differently" After finishing his speech Spike went back to his seat and sat down. He could already feel the stares and the whispers of his classmates, all directed at him. Deciding he should just ignore them he turned his attention to the lesson. Thankfully no partner work was not needed that day so he didn't have to face his friends. But soon lunch came and he knew he could not escape confrontation. He grabbed his lunch and went and sat down on one of the benches. At least he would escape the questions here. But soon he felt the presence of some pony in front of him. He figured it was Diamond Tiara but when he looked up he saw Sweetie Belle looking at him. "What are you doing sitting her Scrib- I mean Spike? You should be sitting at our table. Were disusing the induction. You don't want to miss it." She told him. "Wait you still want me to be a cutie mark crusader even thought I lied to you" Spike asked confused. "So what Spike. You were the crusader's friends even before you.... turned into a pony. And Dinky doesn't seem to care that much" Sweetie told him leading him over to their table. When he got there no one seemed to really notice. Applebloom and Scootaloo were arguing over the rewritten speech. When he sat down and no one objected he took out his sandwich and began to eat. At least until he felt someone punch him in his side. "Ouch, what was that for" he said looking next to him at Dinky. "That's for not telling me that you were Spike" She said. "Sweetie Belle, I thought you said that Dinky didn't care" Spike said confused. "I said she didn't seem to care THAT much" Sweetie replied. "You could have told me, I mean you were like my first real friend" Dinky told him "You have to expect some anger on my behalf" "Point taken. Never lie to Dinky" Spike said causing laughter from the others including Dinky. The five friends began to talk about the induction and everything that was planned, at least until Diamond Tiara walked over to them. "What do you want Diamond Tiara" Spike asked the filly. "Nothing that concerns you freak" Diamond said to him. "Spike is not a freak" Dinky said to her. "Oh your so right, your the one that's a freak, Scribbler, I mean Spike is a freak of nature, two different things" Diamond Tiara said. "Dinky is not a freak" Spike said to Diamond in a warning town. "And Spike is not a freak of nature" Sweetie Belle told Diamond. "Yeah, you are" added Scootaloo. Scowling Diamond Tiara walked away. Obviously off to complain about them to Silver Spoon. "You're not a freak Spike" Applebloom said. "Yeah I know, I won't let it get to me" Spike said to her. "I hate Diamond Tiara" Sweetie Belle said in almost a whisper.Even though no one said anything, they knew they all agreed. The rest of the day was fairly quick and soon the group was headed towards the Apple farm. Even though most of them were talking excitedly, Spike was silent occasionally nodding. When they reached the tree house the trio lead the two nonmembers up the stairs and gave them a grand tour. "And that's where we think up ideas for crusading" Scootaloo said. "Now let us induct you as a Cutie Mark Crusader" Sweetie Belle said excitedly. " We the Cutie Mark Crusaders here by induct you as one of are own. To be a true friend and fellow Crusader." Scootaloo said "Know Sweetie Belle will give you a cape and you will be an official Crusader" As Sweetie Belle gave them their capes Applebloom said "Wow you really did a good job of shortenin' it" "Yep only took me two minutes to right it" Scootaloo replied "Now that you have your capes welcome fellow crusaders. We will begin are crusading tomorrow as I am in fact need to go to the doctors. Goodbye" As they all left for their separate ways Spike looked at his friends all one last time before heading home. 'If this what it feels like to be a pony. I hope this spell never wears off' he said to himself as he headed home. Author's Note I finally finished it. Oh god im a procrastinator for this chapter. I wrote it one bit at a time. But I feel good about how it turned out. I hope it was worth the wait.
