Chapters Adventure? How About a Flash Back
Prologue
It has been nine years since an evil empire invaded Equestria, Princess Twilight took over the kingdom that was now called Greenwood. After all the darkness in the land had been eradicated, Princess Twilight assumed control over the deadwoods to rename them, and restore their once beautiful looks. Now Twilight sat in her library in her castle researching deep into dragons based on Rainfall’s observations. She then remembered that here in a few weeks was her own version of the Grand Galloping Gala. She had completely forgotten about that, and had to send out invitations to the other princess’s in Equestria to keep up her own reputation.
The next day Twilight went around her own town going door to door like she always did in an event like this collecting volunteers to help put things together. Of course her friends would help, and didn’t expect any much less from them. She had finally gathered a big enough group of ponies up to finally give her speech to her ponies looking up to her. She looked to the side lines as always to see her friends for a small mental boost before the speech, she opened her mouth, and spoke the words written down the paper in front of her.
“Today like every year we are hosting the Great Gala, our celebration of the upcoming feast of November. Today we will need all your help to gather up some supplies just for today, and start planning for the event coming. This will be very important that everything is perfect for when the other Princesses visit for we are hosting the biggest feast in Equestria here in this kingdom. We have to please everypony with the pre-party just to get started on the feast, we start working on the feast her in about a week. So prepare yourselves for some tough weeks, but all of you will get paid well for your work. Hope everything comes together fine for this party, and her are your leaders to help you get organized.”
Twilight turned to her friends who now were approaching the podium. She decided that now would be a good time to send out her invitations to the rest of Equestria before going back to her studies.
Twilight woke up the next morning piled in books, she stood up from the mound of books she had read the night before. Twilight took a look around the room, it was a huge mess what had she done the night before. she looked around the area, and found that she was studying about dragons. She must of had an over reaction to all the new knowledge, Twilight walked out of the room to find that almost all of her castle was a wreck. She took down a mental note I must have learned too much, I should watch how much I read before I go insane again. She walked out to her balcony to see how the materials for the Great Gala had been coming along. As she gazed upon her great kingdom she noticed something was wrong, why was there a shadow over Greenwood.
“Rainbow, where did all these clouds come from? We’re not supposed to have them delivered until later this week, why did they come now?”
“I have no idea why or how they got here, but I think our weather team could get them coraled somewhere else for now. Don’t worry Twilight this celebration is going to be great, we just need to get things together.” Rainbow Dash said as she flew down to meet Twilight.
“I hope so.” Twilight said as she looked down to her city.
Down in the city Pinkie Pie, and Rarity sat a small table issuing directions to the volunteers to make things go along nicely. Pinkie of course was taking care of the food and activities, and Rarity was the one in charge of the decorations. Spike was doing a few things around the castle himself, he had missed being in his huge form, but at least he was bigger than he was before he was transformed into a big beast. Spike was in charge of keeping the castle in shape to hold three other princesses, and Twilight. A good kind of shape to be clean, but not clean to the point in which anypony who walked in had to go through a three hour clean cycle before entering. Twilight entered the castle, and said
“How are things coming along Spike? I just got a notice that not only is Cadence coming, but my brother is coming. We need to have everything done before they get here, notify Chainball that defenses need to be up to Shining’s standards.”
Spike nodded after writing it all down, he opened his mouth, and blew his magic fire all over the paper which then disappeared, and appeared near Chainball.
“Everypony we need to assemble ourselves correctly to specific measurements of our defense patterns, we have guests coming. These guest just happen to be apart of royalty, if anything happens to them whoever is responsible won’t receive their pay for a month, DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!?!”
Chainball said as he looked across his men who all shook their heads in confirmation, none of them had a single amount of fear that anypony would get hurt during this visit. They all knew that no evil had existed in Equestria, or even in Greenwood for almost a decade. This was the final year, and the final season of the fall of the last evil empire known to ponies. Chainball walked outside of the guard barracks, and looked up into the night’s air. This was his home he thought, this is where he belonged here setting up his own defenses, and defending those he loved.
The next morning Twilight woke up to find that she only had two weeks left before the princess, and the others would arrive. She needed to make sure that everything was pulling together nicely, Twilight walked out of her tower to the balcony overlooking the city’s streets in which ponies moved in their own ways. Everything from this height though looked like an ant colony assembling for some bigger power, Twilight then realized that she was acting as if she was an ant queen. She didn’t want her citizens to act as slaves that obeyed every order she issued, she wanted there to be group, organized groups doing their own tasks. Like that time in ponyville of Winter Wrap Up. She had assembled everypony in a time of need to wrap up winter like they had every year, but that time was on time. Twilight decided that she would have to gather up her friends in order to give out new orders in how they might actually pull things together in this small amount of time, everything needed to be perfect for them. So Twilight organized a few note cards of information she would need to tell them, and would accept questions afterward. She walked out onto the balcony once more to take a breath of fresh air before the meeting begun. She walked downstairs to meet her friends to give out the orders that need to be passed out to their citizens. Once she got downstairs she found herself in an empty room, where were her friends she thought to herself. She looked outside on the bigger, but lower balcony overlooking the courtyard. There she saw only one pony standing, she approached carefully. Twilight got to a distance in which she could barely see the ponies face. She could tell that she was a part of royalty, she wore her royal robes in which covered her identity.
“Who are you? What are you doing here?”
The pony turned toward Twilight, and said
“I thought I might give you an early visit, you seem like you need it. You’re in such a mess right now.”
Cadence then moved in to hug her, but she was knocked over by what seemed to be the force of a freight train, but it was just in turn to be a great hug from Twilight herself. They both entered the main hall where the new meeting was being held, Twilight was a bit nervous about having Cadence there for a meeting about the clean up of the streets.
After the meeting Twilight lead Cadence to her guest rooms in the castle for her to go to sleep. After leading Cadence to her guest room, Twilight headed to the study where she was going to resume her research for the day. She had gotten in the habit of learning a new thing everyday to keep her in pace with all of the other princesses all over Equestria that know more about other things than she knows about magic, they all still had a lot to learn about magic before they all got close to Twilight’s level. She knew that none of them were close, but keeping her mind full of things to insert into conversations made her feel better about entering rooms full of ponies. She may have made those six good friends, but other ponies she still felt a little nervous about. Twilight turned around to find a pony standing in the doorway
“HEY, WHO ARE YOU?!?!” Twilight shouted
The pony simply turned, and walked down the hall until it left Twilight’s vision. She thought to herself am I insane She shook her head at this thought, and chased the figure down the hallway to find that the shadow was a cloud of magical dust. Considering all the experiments she had down in the past, this could just be left over chemicals floating through plain space. Twilight decided to go and gather up the dust, so nopony would get harmed from the dust’s compound. She charged up her horn, and moved the dust into a bag that she happened to keep with her. She walked up to the balcony the dust had lead her to, and looked across the streets of her city.
“I can’t believe it’s been a decade since the last evil ruled this land. I hope nothing ever roles into Equestria like that again.” She turned to see the shadow that she thought was just magic dust. “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!?!”
The pony walked toward Twilight as the shadow followed him.
“I’m very sorry to disturb your perfect silence here, but I believe this KINGDOM DOESN’T BELONG TO YOU!!” The shadow spread over a portion of the city, and continued to expand as the pony flung itself toward Twilight.
Twilight woke up that moment screaming in horror, Spike came running into the room only to find Twilight screaming with no injuries or tragedies.
“What’s wrong Twilight, aren’t you supposed to be asleep, it’s a little late for you to be up Twilight.”
She shook her head, and said
“I’m fine Spike, it was just a nightmare. Things just seem to have been keeping me stressed, I should probably take the day off tomorrow. I think that would be good for the both of us don’t you think?”
Spike shook his head in agreement, and left the room. Twilight closed all of the books around her, and put them away. A gust of wind hit the windows as she turned to see the hallway door open. All this work stuff has gotten to her head, she need to stop being so frightened about the impossible. As that thought floated through her head she walked through the doorway from her dreams, and fell asleep. The next morning Twilight woke up to a beautiful sun rise, and thought to herself
“What a great day to have off” She walked out to the edge of her balcony on top of the castle, and looked upon her gorgeous kingdom.
She thought about how great of a princess she could be on this great morning, she decided to think about it as she did her normal morning routines. Once she had finished she looked at the city from the lower balcony, and announced
“Everypony gather around, I have an announcement to make.” She took a deep breath as the ponies all gathered up into the courtyard below. “
As princess of this city I call a day off for everypony on this beautiful morning, I hope you all enjoy this great day!” The ponies cheered, and moved on with their day. Twilight walked away from the balcony, and entered her own main hall to relax. She knew that some ponies would enter the hall to thank her, but she just wanted to relax.
After several hours of greeting ponies that entered her hall, Twilight decide to get up and do something productive. She walked up to her study room in which she thought she might as well resume her studies on historical events. Not a lot of ponies studied history in their time, so Twilight would have another thing to pull up in the middle of dulling conversations. After even more time of sitting there learning about the history of the wars all over Equestria, she heard a noise come from the hallway behind her. She looked behind herself hoping it was Cadence, but the hallway was empty and dark. Twilight stood up slowly, she still remembered the dream from the other night where a dark cloud was about to throw her off of her own balcony. She was hoping it was a dream she could remember it so clearly, but she also remembered waking up in the library afterward. Twilight entered the dark hallway, and went on a short walk looking for anything suspicious. The darkness formed behind her, and surrounded her creating a thick cloud of dust around her. This cloud then started to glow with some sort of dark magic, and showed Twilight a vision of the future. This didn’t seem right for Twilight to see, as the cloud dissolved into the air she fell to the ground in disbelief. She woke up the next morning with her head piled in books. She had to look around for an answer to these terrible dreams, she called a meeting with all of her friends to inform them of this and what she was going to do about it. The meeting started, and Twilight stood up to say
“I need you five to take care of preparations for the celebration her in a two weeks. I’ve been having troubles, and the only pony I know that has any sort of idea how to fix my problems lives far away. I’m going to visit Zecora, I have a big feeling that she will have any idea of how these dark things are reaching my mind. I also hope that she will have a cure to it. I will see you all soon.” She left the room with her bags packed and Spike at her side.
Spike turned to Twilight, and said “What sort of bad things have been happening? I thought everything was fine, nothing bad around the castle has been happening.”
Twilight sighed, and ignored the question. She didn’t want to be rude, but she also didn’t feel like talking about it.
“I’m sorry Spike, but I’ll have to tell you another time. It’s happened too recently that I feel not comfortable enough to talk about it.”
Spike then sighed, and looked at the ground as the both walked through the woods. Many ponies had decided not to live in the city, but build their own village out in the woods to keep their own small lives to themselves. Twilight decided to take the path that led straight through the small town to rest up, and gather food and supplies. They both arrived in the small town that seemed to be resting for the day, Twilight and Spike walked up to each store hoping that a pony would show their faces, but not a single place seemed to be open. Twilight and Spike decided that if nopony would answer them that they would have to setup camp until tomorrow. In the middle of the night Twilight wandered off into the forest, and experienced the same nightmare she had been getting for the past few days. This dream frightened her because it involved the destruction of her city and her friends. The next morning she was woke up, and saw Spike with all of the supplies that they needed for their journey.
They both spent the next few days traveling along, and talking about topics that Twilight had educated herself with. They finally reached the borders of the Everfree forest, they both decided that taking the original route would be nice rather than taking the path that led straight through Canterlot. This path was the path they had taken when they had accepted the quest that called to them to show the darkness the light. Twilight knew what she would find ahead one thing in particular she was excited about was the first exciting event in their journey the cave that had shown then long distance teleportation. They entered the cave from the back entrance that had never revealed itself, she then also remembered that the entrance was blocked off by rocks. She then said to Spike
“We will rest here tonight, I always wanted to travel back her to understand the magic that happens in that room again. Every object just seems to move on their own around one central point, and also had carved out their own paths.” The next day they finally made it to Zecora’s shack, and Twilight had asked for the cure. Zecora had never heard of such a disease, but had heard of several other things similar to it. She brewed up a small potion that might help with this nightmare, Twilight decided to travel back to Ponyville for the day. Everypony there seemed to be very happy to see her, and let her get to whatever she was doing. Twilight took a sip of the potion, and headed off to sleep.

Chapter 1
The Split
Twilight woke up the next day fully rested, she looked around to find that Spike had left the tree to go on a walk. She was so happy just to know that potion worked to keep the nightmares away. She walked outside to find half of ponyville asleep, did she really lose that much sleep to the original nightmares? She took a small walk over to Sugar-cube corner to see if Mr and Mrs Cake had anything prepared for her to eat, she was starving. She entered the shop to find it pitch black. Twilight scrapped her hoof along the wall to eventually find the light switch. When her eyes finally adjusted to the light a loud noise accompanied the dozens of ponies she saw before her. It was almost as if Pinkie Pie had thrown a party for her. Vinyl Scratch had taken over the party business when Pinkie had to move to Greenwood, everypony in ponyville had shown up the the party as a little welcome back/going away party. Twilight walked up to Vinyl, and said
“Why would you host such a party in the middle of the night?”
Vinyl looked at Twilight “I got Luna and Celestia to delay the day night cycle for this party to be a big surprise, I really hope you like it.” Twilight looked at the ground, and responded “I just wish my friends were here, if you would excuse me for a moment I need a little fresh air.” Twilight walked outside, and used her magic to summon a friend to help her with her current troubles. Discord appeared, and realized that Twilight needed a little help for now.
“Could you possibly send a message out to the six of my friends to enter the portal leading to Canterlot in my quarters to accompany me to this wonderful party. I hope Vinyl won’t mind you joining us too.”
Discord shook his head in agreement, he knew that in a party like that he could use his powers to produce a little chaos and get away with it. Who knows what he could end up doing, he is the soul of chaos.
Twilight entered back into Sugar-cube corner to find everypony starring at her.
“What are you guys looking at?” Twilight said while with the piercing eyes starring into her.
Nopony responded, she looked back down on the ground to find a puddle of water in front of her. The puddle showed her what was wrong, through the reflection of herself in the puddle she noticed that somehow she had grown an extra horn. She took a moment to think about it, this had to be good. Didn’t this mean she could do twice the magic she could before? This mis-formation on her head disrupted the party, Twilight lifted her head from the very convenient puddle on the ground to look back up at the crown still all gaping at what they were seeing. Twilight decided now was the time to speak up
“Let’s not care about this now, I’ve already had a stressful enough week, could we all just enjoy ourselves for this night.”
Everypony shook their heads, Twilight approached Vinyl again, and said
“Is it possible to bring this party more outside, I’ve invited quite a few more ponies to this great party of yours. I don’t think we will need anymore food, I believe this extra horn I have here will help conjure even more into existence.”
Vinyl entered the room full of partying ponies to redirect them outside.
Luna came down from the night sky to greet Twilight, but saw the surprise of the double horned princess before her. “What is up with this?” Luna exclaimed.
Twilight looked up to the sky, and said
“I have no idea, but I’m sure I’ll be fine.”
As the night went on she found even more parts of her body multiplying at random. This seemed to be very strange, by the time her friends had arrived she looked like a freak. Eight legs, two heads, two tails, four ears, two eyes, and two horns. Her friends decided to take a different approach than others. They all reassured her that nothing was wrong with her, but she should check with Zecora to see if anything was truly wrong with her.
Two knocks on the door of Zecora’s shack Twilight thought would be enough, but when no answer was give Twilight thought she had been in a friendship with her long enough that she could just enter without being rude. Zecora was sound asleep, in a situation like this one even sleep of a dearest friend would have to wait. Twilight walked over to Zecora who was laid down on a small brown cot. Twilight took a moment to rethink that she might want to let her sleep, and confront her about this tomorrow. After a split second of thinking she decided it was best to wake her now for this was an emergency. Twilight approached the cot, and shook Zecora until she woke. Moments after Zecora woke she stared at Twilight in horror.
“What has happened to you Twilight, I thought this potion would bring light to your night. Obviously this does not seem right.” Zecora rhymed.
Twilight took some time to explain all the things that have been happening to her in the past few hours. Zecora fished through her small library of books to find one specifically for that potion, apparently it had more uses than Twilight had thought. It explained in the book that in order to destroy the nightmares you must tear that part of your self right off, and this is what it was in the middle of doing. Twilight was in a bit of a shock after reading this, was this other Twilight that was connected to her going to live in fear of everything. Even in the book it said that what ever you remove from your current self would live on until cast to another world. She either had to live with the nightmares or completely remove this terrified version of Twilight off of her to live on without those dreams of horror.

Chapter 2
Flash from a False Past
Twilight woke up the next morning to find that all of the extra body parts she had unfortunately grown were no longer existing. She pulled herself out of bed to go find Spike to pack their bags and leave. She thought the first place she would find him was Sugar corner Twilight moved out the door, and made her way down the street. She finally made of to Sugar cube corner to look for Spike who was nowhere to be found. The sky was still black with the beautiful moon shinning bright. When Twilight walked in she found herself in the same situation as the night before in a pitch black room. This time she didn't really have to search for the light switch. When the light came on all the same ponies were there as if last night didn't even happen. Twilight then experienced the same night as before except for her body never ended up growing its own parts to double up. She had talked to everypony noticing that they had no memory of the night before, she didn’t feel as if that dream was a nightmare, but more of a very dark corner of her mind. Princess Luna flew down from the night sky again as in the previous night.
“Do you out of everypony here remember anything about last night, or am I just being a little too paranoid?” Luna starred at Twilight with a strange face.
“Now what are you talking about Twilight, Last night you were sound asleep. I hope that potion Zecora gave worked it’s purpose, you seem to have gotten the sleep you’ve needed. What else could be the matter?”
Twilight took a deep breath, and shook her head, and said “Nothing, it must just be some side effects I’ll go talk to Zecora about. I’ll catch up with you later.”
Twilight took a stroll down to Zecora’s shack in the Everfree forest, ever since the adventure she had taken nine years ago this place didn’t seem so scary after all. She finally had reached the shack when it seemed to be in the same situation as before, now she thought would be the right time to rephrase her question from last night. She entered the shack, and woke up Zecora as before
“I’m sorry to bother you, but I seemed to have a dream last night…..”
Zecora hopped up out of her green cot, and said “Are you telling me my brew didn’t work?”
Twilight shook her head, and said “Yeah, yes it did but I thought I might ask you about this other dream I had last night. I dreamed about this exact day, and that I had a double of myself growing out slowly until it would have to separate for good.” Zecora took some time to explain it to Twilight, and she finally got the answers she was looking for, and decided to call it a night. She made it back to the tree, and decided that one more day in ponyville would be OK with her.
Twilight woke up the next afternoon, she still had no idea where Spike had wandered off to. Now this was something she would need the help of her other pony friends with, were those dreams just producing the hallucination of Spike? She shook off the thought of her mind playing more tricks on her. Twilight left the tree to find Spike ready to leave with all of their bags packed, and breakfast setup for before they leave. The thought of him doing all this for Twilight made her smile. They both talked over the small breakfast that Spike had prepared, and headed off the the train station. This time Twilight just wanted a small ride back to Greenwood, she would be late if she didn’t take the boring path anyways. They both reached the train, and Twilight took a look at Spike who was her little friend, but has grown to be taller than her.
“Spike, I need to tell you something when we reach Greenwood. I’ve had an interesting time here, and I have a very interesting story to tell. It’s about how that potion Zecora gave me helped, but it’s effects will never leave me until I decide to let go. Just thinking about letting go of this one effect just destroys my world around me, and I thought it would be good to get an outside opinion. I know you and I think alike, but this just is a serious matter that I will only discuss with you and our friends.”
Twilight glanced back to ponyville as she and Spike boarded the train. They had both made it to Canterlot where Twilight decided to pay a small visit to Princess Celestia, Twilight decided that this was no time to speak about her troubles in ponyville. By night time, she decided that this was the time for her and Spike to rest again. Princess Celestia let them borrow a room in Canterlot castle. After a refreshing night Twilight woke up, and packed up the small amount of stuff they had unpacked and left for the portal. When on the other side all of her friends waited eagerly, Pinkie of course had already prepared a party, and all of her friends took place in preparing it too: Rainbow Dash made sure the sky was clear, Rarity made a beautiful entrance back, and pull together all of the most beautiful decorations she could get, Fluttershy had gotten a few shier animals to show themselves, and cheer up the population, Applejack and Pinkie Pie prepared the food. Twilight entered the portal, and ended on the other side disoriented. She opened her eyes to find this amazing party just for her. Too many things had made her happy with her trip especially the fact that she would have to live with those terrifying nightmares anymore. Everything seemed just fine.

Everything Seemed Just Fine
Chapter 3
Everything Seemed Just Fine.
Spike walked into the library to wake up Twilight from the mounds of books she had always made at night.
“So, Twilight you told me that you would tell me what happened. So what did happen?”
Twilight sighed, and decided to ignore the question and move on with her day. Twilight began to examine the preparations her friends made for the other princesses to visit her kingdom, so far all she had checked had been good. Everywhere she had walked this new secret was eating at her soul, knowing that a part of her own personality was torn apart and left to roam the known world. She thought to herself.
“Maybe these are just side effects?” As the days went on the feeling only got worse as if somepony had cursed her rather than healing her. She wanted to take a trip down to the Everfree forest to have a talk about these side effects to Zecora, but with the upcoming events she had no more time to leave her kingdom for another trip like the previous one.
Nights had passed, this new feeling creeped over her as if she was being torn apart even more from the inside, after a few weeks the day had finally come for her to present herself to the other princesses. The way she was feeling, Twilight didn’t even want to be in the sight of anypony that she would have to talk to, everyday she became more and more depressed, and dove deeper into a dark cave of hatred. When each princess came to talk to her, she tried to hurry each conversation, because she knew that it would be important to be nice to her fellow rulers of Equestria. After the big celebration, all of the Princesses gathered in the central hall of the castle, and said their goodbyes.
The next day Twilight decided that she needed some help with this new feeling of hatred, and destruction. So after a long selection she picked out a few volunteers to help her throughout the castle, this was the first mistake she had made in the past few days. After the days got worse and worse she called upon even more of her city to help her get herself together. After a few weeks some ponies started to complain, could it be that bad? She thought to herself, she didn’t see it as that bad, but an excuse. So she worked those who had complained even harder. As her friends had to sit by, and watch as she tore not only herself, but her reputation apart they all knew what to do. They all organized a small party to try to cheer up Twilight from this strange act she had taken up. She was carried into the room, one by one all of her friends lost even more hope in her recovery. All of them thought that a friendly meet up would surely cheer their old friend up, but as the day moved on she only seem to get worse. Nopony knew what kind of illness this was, or even if it was. So each pony took their time to observe what she was going through, not even Pinkie Pie had any idea what was going on. Twilight’s emotions were going off of the scale, days moved on as the friendly five tried to pull Twilight together.
A few weeks later Twilight woke up in the worst possible mood, she moved about the castle throwing fits everywhere she went. Every corner she turned she caused a new form of destruction, when all of her friends appeared to try and stop her. She simple complained, and said she needed no help. Dark thoughts slipped into her mind as she roamed the castle searching for answers to this new pain growing the the back of her head.
“Why must I always be disturbed by them, each problem I have they always try to help. Maybe I should banish them from the kingdom, and rule Greenwood by myself.” Twilight looked at herself in a nearby mirror, and noticed something she had only seen one. All over her body not a single bright color was showing, the more and more she thought about it, the more it made sense. Evil was growing on her, evil wasn’t just what all of the bad guys thought was good, but it was a disease. Something that grows on its hosts, maybe you could call it a parasite, and there was only one cure. Twilight tried to pull herself in the other direction to get help from her friends to bring her happiness again, but her legs seemed to be weighed down like cinder blocks. She took another glance at the mirror to she a hallucination show itself through her own magic. A new form of magic she had never seem before.
“If you even think that you’re going to escape my grasp, you’re going to need a lot more power than you posses. I have your whole body in my own control, I control your speech, your legs, and basically everything that you need to contact the outside of you.” The hallucination moved around her to show its face, it was a horrifying pony with sharp teeth, and shatter eyes with red around them. The armor he wore made him look even worse, it made him look as if he was twice as big as he should be.
“Now where do you think your friends are, I’m sure they’ll enjoy their banishment. Your relationships are on the line, aren’t you going to try and do anything about it? No I didn’t think so, I guess you just don’t like your friends anymore.” His voice was poison to Twilight, only if she could gather enough strength to break free of his spell, It was only a matter of time before he found a way to ruin her complete life in total, what was she going to do?

Chapter 4
Faded Voices
Twilight’s body moved in it’s own free will, as this mysterious pony controlled her, from who knows how far away. He obviously had some connection to her castle. He seemed really upset about her taking over this land for herself, but what could she do? She was ordered by Princess Celestia herself, the most powerful Princess she had met, to take the kingdom. The master of the Day Night cycle, with magic powerful enough to banish you to the moon. The only thing she had found herself to think was more powerful than Celestia, was the Elements of Harmony. She tried to open her eyes, but this monster wouldn’t let her even twitch and eyelid. She watched through the filtered vision of her new enemy, he showed her only as he pleased. He moved about the castle covering it with chaos everywhere he went, he destroyed everything she had liked about the place to gain more and more power over her. She struggled at the sight of everything she had accomplished being destroyed right before her eyes, he moved her up the tower as if she was heading to sleep, but it was unlike for a creature such as this one to give pleasure to its host. When she reached the top of the stairs, he opened the doors to the balcony, and called upon the citizens of Greenwood.
“Of course this is what you’re doing, you simply can’t just do this to an innocent pony.” Twilight said to the voice in her head.
“Well what do you think I’m doing, I’m destroying an guilty pony. One that has treated her kingdom like a pack of slave for the past month. Why would I let a monster like you continue on?”
He did make a good point, but it wasn’t valid enough for Twilight, she took a moment to think before he gave off his big speech. All she needed to do was let go, she really believed that this would work, so she took a deep breath in her own mind, and thought about her friends. That’s all she cared about, and he could never take them away from her, the pain slowly faded as her mouth opened to speak.
“You will not rule over my body anymore, YOU ARE BANISHED!” The voice faded slowly away, she looked down at the city who awaited a speech from their princess.
“Everypony, citizens of my empire. There was an intruder to our kingdom, and caused some terrible things, but he is gone now. A parasite was he, destroyed my reputation. Forced all of the ponies in this city to work for nothing, put me into unbelievable pain beyond that I’ve felt before. This pony was after what he claim was his, but is ours. He planned on terrible things that will never happen, and infiltrated only by magic, no real form showed itself from the shadows in which it came. This pony will try to reach me more, but I will not let such a thing happen again. I’m sorry for all the hard days everypony had worked to try and make the beast feel better, but no more shall you ponies do work for me. You shall only do work for your own selves. Work hard everyday to buy yourself new, and work hard for those you love. I’m now officially pulling all of taxes out of the picture, I will make my own money to put this kingdom together. Throw fundraisers for things we will need, but no longer will you have to server me like you have before, no go take a day off for now. You’ve all done your best, and have a good night.”
She looked around the castle only to find that the beast did minimal damage to the things she really loved, she met up with her friends as they all gave her a group hug before she could go into detail. The potion she had taken from Zecora had being switched with one that gave another pony control over you as long as they took things you loved away from you. This was known as a want parasite, for warlords to tear their enemies apart using their emotions. The voice slowly faded back in as Twilight starred into the sky, she was unsure if it was coming from inside or outside her head. When she saw a small white dot expand in the sky she knew that she wasn’t the only pony hearing the voice slowly fade in, the dot expanded itself more and more until it covered the whole sky. A pony blacker than night, fangs instead of teeth and shattered eyes appeared. Twilight had seem him before, this wasn’t pleasant for anypony to see, he was a terrifying pony. Not only was he scary in his physical form, but he wore massive sets of armor that supported his deep voice that shot into everypony’s ears as they tried to cover them, he spoke very loudly and very clearly.
“This kingdom is mine, your land is mine. Your lives are worthless.”
“Why don’t you pull yourself from your own shadows to fight like a real mare.” Shouted Wolf Tongue
The massive magical hologram turned toward the voice, and spoke “You really think I’m so stupid to pull myself from the shadows against your monstrous army, you will be seeing me very soon.”
The image dissipated, and formed a black eye in the sky watching over the kingdom. Twilight glanced to her friends who's mouths gaped at the site of the shattered eye in the sky. The terrifying red shattered eye blinked every five minutes, and never moved from the spot it looked at. The red moved like fire, the black darker than a black hole, and the cracks like a shattered mirror. The ponies looked deep into the eye only to find the most terrifying thing to them, this eye was cursed with an evil magic. Twilight would need some help from other ponies to block the sight of it from the sky, and decided to take a small trip to the crystal empire leaving her friends to manage the ponies again.
Adventure? How About a Flash Back
Chapter 5
Burning Fate
As Twilight boarded the train to the Crystal Empire she took one last glimpse at the castle that rose into the dark of the sky where the black eye stared at the city waiting for any chances for destruction. The five below it looked up to it pondering what sort of trickery it could be conjuring up. It looked fixed on one spot, but every few hours one would look up to find it in a new spot. They eye would move when nopony was looking. It was a poison seeping into the skin of those it looked upon, the blackness growing darker every second, and the cracks of white light burning those eyes that stared into them for too long. Twilight hoped that nopony would try anything while she was gone, she starred out the window as the train departed Greenwood. She looked around the train to find about a tenth of the population of Greenwood starring at her as she turned to see them. She looked at all of their worried faces.
“Don’t worry about them, everything will be just fine.” Twilight said.
She let down her head and fell asleep, after all she did need some rest. She woke up to find herself in the middle of a red desert, this didn’t seem the little bit familiar to her at all. What was this a dream? She stood up off of the ground, and took a look around. This was not anything she had seem before for, where was the train. She tried to open her eyes, but all that happened was the burning of the sun dried her eyes before she could pull them completely open. She decided to take a walk around, maybe she could find an exit from this burning wasteland. She lifted on foot, and placed it just in front of her. She did this for hours, and ended up to find Greenwood just beyond her. She picked up the pace, and only found that the closer she got the further it got. This was going to be a long journey for her, and she knew that it would be painful to.
Ponies gathered all around Twilight as her body lay there shivering, she was moving limbs around as if she was running, they all looked down as their princess drove herself into insanity running in place mumbling, and dreaming her worst dream. Twilight looked up to see the sun glowed black, she didn’t know how such a color could glow, but it did. This frightening sight made her look down to the ground to see the sand sinking below her. The land was falling, and the only choice was to run. She ran on and on until she found only one spot that wasn’t falling beneath her. When she stopped the black eye came down from the clouds to meet her.
“My name is In Kendov, and this is my prison. No pony has escaped, and now I have a princess of a great empire trapped in my burning hell. This shall be your fate, give up your empire and I’ll think about setting you free. Otherwise you’ll be trapped in the burning dream and never wake up, the clock is ticking Twilight. Even now your own citizens group around you to see the body other their princess sweat in one of the coldest environments in Equestria.”
Twilight looked to the black shattered eye as a body formed around it, her legs felt like cinder blocks as the figure appeared into her sight. She tried to look away, but his body seemed like a magnet for all eyes. He starred at her as she struggled, and only every once in a while would take a moment to look away. Twilight starred down, and thought to herself that she would make it out for her friends. Her empire needed her. At the moment that she had those thoughts the weight of the cinder blocks lifted off of her hooves, and she sprung out and tackled In Kendov. He fell to the ground, and said.
“Now you’ll never escape.” He vanished into thin air as Twilight lifted herself off of the ground.
She thought this is no wasteland, it’s only a dream. The dreamers have control over their own dream, all they have to do is think to change it. She took a moment to think intensely about her home Ponyville. The more she thought building showed themselves, and the whole desert changed in her own command. She thought more as ponies showed themselves around her, and the darkness went away. She had just taken control of the situation, now was the time to open her eyes. She woke up on the train with ponies surrounding her, and all starring with pain. She had no idea what had just happened, but then just decided to ignore it. Nothing this pony could try would make her give up on her friends back at Greenwood nothing.
