Prologue

While an Alicorn by the name of Celestia tried to regain her abilities over the sun. A lone man fought with a sword in one hand and a shield in the other.

Oh wait where are my manners please give me the chance to explain what exactly is happening right now. Although I barely know the details myself having only been in this world for a month or so before having to fight the oppressor of Equestria.

It all began when I appeared in this mysterious land by the name of Equestria, it was a land filled with mythical creatures from my worlds lore. They were of all forms and types and probably one of the best places to explore and adventure but that was on the bottom of my to do list at the moment, while I was locked in a sword fight between a shadowed man who wanted nothing more than to take over Equestria and rule in oppression.

Anyway back to the explanation shortly after arriving I was attacked by what I was later told was a manticore, disgusting vile brute he was. So after running from this manticore I was saved by a weird pony creature, she was around the same height as me which was 6 foot 5 but she stood around a full foot higher than me. She was decorated in a beautiful yet torn dress which exposed her curves beautifully causing me to blush ‘Damnit Harold you have a girlfriend’ I thought before punching myself in the leg to stop the blood rushing towards my growing erection. Back to her looks now, she was covered in soft white fur all over her body and her hair was flowing gracefully, it was also coloured 4 different colours and what surprised me was they were all warm colours of the palate.

Stepping forward she looked me over in curiosity “What type of pony are you?” she asked nervously while keeping her distance from me. It was as if I was some kind of evil malevolent being whose sole purpose was to tear her to shreds. “I’m a Human by the name of Harold” I answered with a small hint of friendliness in my voice as I addressed the curious creature. Taking note of the location we were in I decided to take the initiative “Do you have anywhere safer that we can talk?” I quickly asked while hearing sticks and branches breaking in the distance. Awaiting an answer I noticed a tree fall off in the distance and showed a look of horror, glancing over to the creature in front of me, she shared the same look before simply saying “Follow me. Fast” and off we ran, deeper into the forest and unbeknownst to myself deeper down the rabbit hole.

The run to this creature’s house was tiring and uneventful; I tripped over more than once to my embarrassment the creature had to help me up a few of those times. Once arriving she shut and locked the door while breathing heavily and frantically, she looked over at me and froze in shock seeing that I was devoid of any fur and lacked any horns or wings. I returned her look of shock seeing the wings and horn that adorned her body for the first time since meeting her. “So you aren’t a pony?” she asked with fear in her voice “And you are?” I returned in slight shock before starting to laugh in surprise. “This is certainly surprising and one for the books” I laughed out while she suppressed a quick giggle. “My name is Celestia” she spoke to me with a calm and collected voice while peeking through the window on the door. ‘Okay good I know her name’ I thought to myself since we had just broken the ice and this seemed to make me and her feel more comfortable around each other, “So why is a lovely mare living out here by herself?” I asked slowly hoping she would answer my question.

She sat down at a shabby table and motioned with her head for me to sit at the other side of the table; once I was seated she began retelling the story of why she was here.

“I live out here due to an evil pony by the name of Blaire” she spat the name out in disgust before continuing. “He stormed into my kingdom one day and just started demanding I turn the throne over to him” I stopped her and asked what she meant by throne but was met with a quick reply. “I used to rule this once beautiful land as a benevolent and just ruler alongside my sister who is trapped in the dungeons of the castle right now” she said with a small tear making its way down here fur. “So of course I rejected his demand and right then and there he just started slaughtering my subjects while monsters of all sorts poured through the city doing the same thing.” She held back another tear trying to be strong; I placed my hand on hers and assured her it would be fine if she didn’t want to continue. “I fought back against him with magic but he quickly beat me, how was his magic so strong I had no idea. It was probably just because I’m still young and not strong enough yet.” She stopped to look at the small sink made out of the tree’s hollow inside, making a glass of water float over she drank before filling the cup again and placing it in front of me. I drank while she continued “So after my magic did nothing I tried the only thing I could and ran towards my chambers where a sword hung, my mother always said that sword would bring peace and tranquillity to the world as long as whoever owned it was pure enough of heart and wielded it for the betterment of the world. Wielding said sword I still failed against the stallion. So I ran for my dear life, I ran far and long until I arrived in this dirty forest and set up a small camp to live until I gained enough power to defeat him.” She finished the long recount and glanced over to the far wall, looking over I noticed a rather large sword.

“Mind if I?” I asked making my way over to the sword in question, she nodded slowly and I picked the sword up. “This thing is pretty light isn’t it” I spoke while brandishing the blade much to her amazement. “That thing is light!” she spoke loudly “It was heavy as stone for me” she complained while the stranger in her house did a few practice jabs with the sword.

“Nope this thing is definitely light in the entire sense of the word” I finished while holding it at my side, doing so caused my pocket to start glowing and feel warm. “What’s in your pocket?” The mare asked. “Just some gems a family member found when we were exploring.” I answered taking out the six gems while they glowed magnificently in the dim light, I dropped the gems when I realized that while being here was awesome I may never see my family or son ever again “No No No” I spoke to myself “I need to leave this place and get back home” I finished my small shock episode and looked to the mare still sitting down.

“Look at me Harold” She spoke with impatience now seeing as the gems could very well save her kingdom and the man wielding them was having an episode, “I Promise you that I will return you to your family or world” she spoke with hope in her voice. “But first we need to take down that bastard Blaire, and I’m sure you are the one to do it,” and so our adventure began which fortunately lead me to learn how to wield the sword with quite proficiently. I even found out that those gems could be inserted into a spot onto the sword to add a small power to it, which was pretty cool I had to admit and even managed to get Celestia to admit it as well.

Over the span of a month I grew quite efficient at tossing a gem onto the blade using its power and swapping it out for another, my quickest time was 4 seconds for a swap time. During this month we also left the forest land and were heading directly for Canterlot, as Celestia informed me during the way here. “I don’t know if I can do this Celestia” I spoke to the mare who was now my only friend that I cared about. “Trust yourself brave Harold, I know you can do it” she assured me. “Just make sure you can hold Blaire off for as long as possible, once you see the sun rising you will know that I have succeeded in bringing peace to the land and regaining my powers over the sun” she reminded me of the plan which we had gone over many times before reaching the edge of the forest.

While walking up the long pathway leading to the elevated city I began to feel doubt and fear taking hold of my heart but a reassuring look Celestia’s way replaced it with courage. Unsheathing the sword I walked with it at my side and held the first gem in my hand, nearing the gates I heard shouting in a deep voice “They have monsters with them” Celestia whispered while the gate slowly slid open making a loud noise and revealing a gigantic monster holding a lamp post as a weapon.

My eyes grew wide as he charged me with a roar, holding the post high above his head. I instinctively shoved the first gem which happened to be the red one into my sword changing it into a much shorter sword that gave me a massive speed boost. I shot forward dashing towards and then past the creature. Slicing deeply through it when I dashed by, groaning in pain the Ogre I decided to call it fell off the pathway and down towards the ground hearing a thud I decided to continue my venture forward with Celestia in tow.

Fighting our way through the town I felt the gem start to get hot and popped it out replacing it with an orange one, the sword shuddered softly before growing longer and wider now forming into a greatsword my arms also bulked up more to accommodate the new weight and reach of my sword. Swinging in wide arcs I cleared wave after wave of demon spawn I heard Celestia call them while she blasted a few with her magic. I held onto the sword tightly and felt it start to burn my hands but continued slashing through them. I soon started to get over run and while managing to get back to a safe distance I knew this would be impossible with just us two, sliding another gem out I popped the pink one in and my sword immediately reformed into a small flute. Smacking my lips I began to play a melody on the flute which would attract any animals within a 10 mile radius to come and fight for me, and sure enough they came running from the forest in a frenzy of blood lust. I saw wolves made of timber leap into the fray and start tearing creature limb from limb, I continued playing to help strengthen their purpose to fight while the flute grew blazing hot in my hands I popped the third gem out. While replacing it with the purple one which shaped the sword into a sabre, this allowed me to increase my skins density while reducing the density of anything hit by its swipe.

The battle was bloody and will haunt my nightmares for years to come but all I thought of while fighting was my Son and Wife sitting back home probably scared to death that I went missing. I slashed at a few heavily armoured monstrosities causing their armour to crack and break before they were overwhelmed by furry but deadly woodland critters. Finally starting to get somewhere I noticed that Celestia had already run into the castle while Blaire had just exited the castle with an army of cronies protecting him “down to 2” I spoke to myself while readying the blue one and slamming it in as he neared me, My sword leapt from my hands and started to transform on the ground shaping itself into a large cannon that fired of 3 consecutive shots into his army of bodyguards. Most perished in the hail of cannon balls and those that didn’t die were soon set upon by the many animals who now feasted on the blood of enemy troops.

Blaire lowered his gaze and snarled as he saw me, stepping forward the unicorn sent a bolt of magic towards me which sent me flying backward and crashing through a window of one of the houses in the city.

Glass had pierced through many places in my skin but I stood back up and jumped back through the window, ready to fight the evil Unicorn. All around me a battle was raging and there were mass casualties on both sides, I felt a little sick seeing all the blood that was in the streets that was now decorated with bodies from both sides. “I’m sorry animals” I mumbled softly before lowering my gaze to the unicorn, the look he had in his eyes was sickening and made my stomach churn uncertainly. He threw his cloak on the ground and stood wearing a set of armour decorated with gold and gems, I honestly found it to be completely stupid and useless to have all the gems.

“My my my” The unicorn spoke out with a voice that sounded almost normal aside from the fact it was filled with hate and curiosity, “I never thought that someone would come and try to usurp me so quickly” he finished while readying his horn for another magic blast.

I slotted in the next and final gem which was lavender in colour and slightly cracked from the last time I put it in to test it, when I almost blew a hole in myself and the entire forest. My sword vibrated in my hand seemingly unable to control the power this gem was giving off and I started to feel it backfiring “Please work” I whispered to myself before pointing the blade at Blaire letting a large bolt of magic fly off towards him.

I watched Blaire’s face contort as the magic hit him with a force that shook the ground around them and pushed me back, I slid back watching Blaire take the magic completely and explode sending another wave of force which threw me back even further. I regained my balance and almost collapsed from exhaustion until I saw the smoke clear and a figure come into sight from the smoke.

“No Fucking way” I yelled in anger as Blaire stepped out of the smoke not unharmed but still able to stand properly and walk somewhat fine, “There is no way” I yelled to him.

“You little bastard” He growled with rage and hate while holding his horn which had snapped off due to the immense magic power that hit him. “I will make sure you and everyone you know and love pay for this” he yelled with rage which made the ground tremble and stepped towards me.

I popped the last gem out and was reduced to using the sword as a normal sword, picking up a shield from a fallen enemy I stepped towards the evil Stallion readying my weapon and shield. Blaire unsheathed his own sword and came running towards me with the sound of weapons clashing filling the air through the town.

We traded blows for a good minute, sizing eat other up for the sword fight that would soon ensue, “I must win for my family and for the good of this world” I mumbled to myself while blocking one of his overhead strikes. The moment I blocked Blaire’s strike I countered and slid my blade across his chest leaving a huge gash in him.

“I swear I’ll make you pay” Blaire said while spitting blood at my face blinding me temporarily, seizing this chance he dove forward and stabbed his blade right through my leg causing me to scream and my vision to blur. It was at this time I knew that I would most likely die, I grabbed the hilt of his blade and held it in my leg. He tried to yank it out but failed miserably and stared up at me with fear in his eyes, meanwhile my eyes were cold and dead inside. I thrusted downwards and stabbed right through him and into the ground below him, coughing up blood and laying on the ground he began to utter his final words.

“You think you can kill me that easily?” he asked with a small laugh “I’ll be back and when I come back you won’t be around to save your poor ponies and princesses” he smiled up at me before holding his horn up and disappearing into a cloud of dust. I collapsed over onto the hard ground breathing heavily and unable to move anymore due to the injuries I sustained. Looking up with the last ounce of strength I had I saw the sun start to rise and a Beautiful Alicorn doing it, with this my vision went black and I fell into a deep slumber.

Days Later

I woke up in a very sterile white room that smelt of medicine and a dentist’s office. Sitting up I found my leg was bandaged and so were my other injuries, looking around I saw the room was practically empty aside from an Alicorn princess who lay asleep in a chair on the other side of the room. Coughing loudly I managed to wake her from sleep and notice me being awake too.

“Oh my” She said with tears flowing from her eyes “I’m so glad you made it” she finished while crying tears of joy and rushing over to hug me. In her chokehold of a hug I heard he say things like “I thought you were dead” and “I prayed every night to Faust for your wellbeing” plus many more which I didn’t hear due to my face being buried in her hug.

Once she pulled away I saw her wipe tears away from her face while saying “I also found out a way to get you back home” she smiled with happiness and began talking about how I would be returned to my world. I noticed as she spoke there was a tinge of sadness in her voice that couldn’t be hidden well enough ‘Was she sad that I could go home’ I thought as she continued her speech before finishing with “Unless of course you want to stay here and rule with me?” she gave a look of hope in her eyes before I shook my head and told her I wished to go home to my family.

She looked heartbroken but simply nodded and told me to get ready immediately since I only had a short period of time until the spell was unable to be cast. I got out of bed limping a bit and grabbed the sword and my clothes’. Dressing myself was a hassle due to the many bandages that covered my body but I got it done in a minute or so and head out the door to follow Celestia.

Walking with Celestia was probably the longest experience of my life, everything felt awkward since she didn’t speak to me the entire way to her castle where she claimed I would be sent back, “So how is it to be back in power?” I asked but she didn’t respond and just gave a small sound that said yes.

Reaching the castle finally we stepped inside and I saw a circle on the floor and all the gems arranged in patterns around it “Step inside the circle and wait, you will be transported back in a minute or so” she said with a sad voice.

I’ll tell you right now that stepping into that circle and standing there for a minute was harder than fighting Blaire since I had to watch Celestia cry softly and cutely “Good Bye” I said happily before disappearing and leaving the mare to instantly break out in crying and sobbing “Good bye” she responded to herself while crying her eyes out.

I appeared in front of my house with the sword in my hand and my bag on my back “Damn forgot to give this back to her” I said to myself before hearing the door open and a little voice scream “Daddy!” I turned around and noticed a small boy named Jesse run towards me, kneeling down I caught him in a hug “Hi son” I spoke back to him and held him in a loving embrace.

“Welcome home dad” the boy spoke to me and I responded “Good to be home son.” I picked my son up and carried him into the house while shutting the door behind me, my life was normal again although I’ll never forget what Blaire said to me before disappearing. Looking at my son who was in my arms I prayed he would never have to deal with that monstrosity and then I prayed that the monstrosity never returned.
