Creature of the night (Prolouge)
Load Full StoryNext ChapterBen smiled at the night sky. Although no one was there to receive his gesture. It was ironic, that he felt so alone around other people but here, by himself, the star lit blackness above along with his favourite patio chair, he felt complete. It was something he could never understand this feeling of awe and happiness in the night time. He could spot the constellations in the seemingly random splatterings of lights among the dark abyss. There was Orion, Sagittarius, the Plough, Hydra, Leo and countless more. He imagined travelling between them in his antimatter drive powered space ship. Pummelling through space like a bat out of Hell, just waiting to find out what lay ahead of him at his next destination. He longed to escape his current life as a 13 year old British kid living a boring life in Gods own county, North Yorkshire. He frowned at the thought of God having his own county. Half the religions in the world seemed to think God created the entire world. What makes this place so special? Sure it's beautiful, but there are plenty of equally perfect places in the world that could easily outclass it. The Lake District in the county of Cumbria for example, was the prettiest place he had ever been. But he knew of one place that blew them all away, blasted them out of the water with a Nuclear bomb. The night sky.
"Anyway!" He shouted aloud to himself in the void silence around him.
"It's 11:30, I should be getting some kip now".
And with that he disappeared into the council house he called his home. Only to reopen the back door again to whisper,
"Goodnight, night"
Little did he know then, what was to be of his life. The kind of purpose he longed for would come, but he would have to wait. Just like he always did. Whatch, and wait.
