Forgotten Princess

I waited two years and decided that it was time. That year on Nightmare Night I waited for my sister to be alone and the went to her.

"Luna my dear sister it has been to long since I have talked to you." I said once nopony other than Luna could hear.

"Who are you?!" she said quickly. "I have only one sister, and that is Celestia!" Luna yelped, startled.

"I forgot how young you were when she banished me to the Everfree. I should have figured that she wouldn't have mentioned me to you, nor to anypony else for that matter."

"What are you talking about? Celestia tells me everything now since we are the co-rulers of Equestria."

"She wouldn't have told you because she blames me for mom disappearing."

"Princess who are you talking too?" the voice of a mare could be heard from be hind me.

"Twilight, I have somepony I need you to meet." Luna began. "Has Celestia ever mentioned to you anything about us having another sister?"

"No Luna, why do you ask?"

"This unicorn claims to be my sister and that Celestia sent her away when I was young." Luna said angrily.

"Actually Luna I am an alicorn like you and Celestia." I told her as I stretched my wings.

"I have an idea, lets settle this tomorrow at the palace with Celestia. You two can stay the night at the library with Spike and me. What is your name?" Twilight asked me obviously ready to return home.

"It is Blacklightning but the few ponies who know who I am call me Lightning."

"Okay. Lightning you will stay on the couch on the first floor and Luna you will stay in the guest room."

"Are you sure Twilight? I don't want to be in your way we could just fly to the palace tonight." Luna asked trying to be polite.

"Yes I am sure and besides what if what she told us is true, do you think Celestia would want to see her this late at night?"Twilight asked hoping trying to convince the princess to stay.

Later that night I was awakened by Luna who was climbing onto the sofa next to me. "What are you doing Luna?"

"Nothing I just wanted to tell you that you could go and lie down in the bedroom because I don't sleep much during the night."

"You know Twilight will be mad if we switch. She'll think that I force you out of the room."

"Don't worry about her she is harmless and besides the bed is far more comfortable than the sofa."

"Thank you Luna but I am used to sleeping on uncomfortable objects. I did live in the Everfree forest since you were a little bit more than a foal after all."

"If your sure you don't want to." She waited for a response, "Well good night talk to you in the morning." She told me as she returned to her room.

The next morning we worked out a way for me to get out of Ponyville without being noticed. Twilight had the idea to cover my wings with an invisibility spell so that they would not be seen. Luna had suggested that I cover my wings with a cloche so that she wouldn't have to cast the spell. I had preferred Luna's plan but Twilight's mind could not be persuaded easily so we ended up using her plan. Once we were out of the eyesight of anypony in Ponyville, Twilight removed her spell and we flew toward the palace. As we flew over Canterlot the ponies below started to follow us to see the princess but the ponies soon realized that she had an unknown alicorn with her, I wished we would have came in the night at least then we wouldn't of caused a commotion when we got here. When Celestia noticed the commotion, she wanted to know the meaning of it. I then stepped out of the crowd, she had a look of fear and sorrow on her face.

"Whats wrong sister I mean no harm to anypony, not even you after my long banishment." I told her in the calmest voice I could muster so not to scare her anymore than she already was.

"It's just that I thought that I would never see you again. I regretted sending you away, and I spent all the time I could trying to find you." she said frantically.

"You could have at least told Luna about me!" I yelled at her," I mean the first time I talked to her in who knows how long and its an argument about if I'm telling the truth or not." I finished saddened by the fact that I used such a harsh tone of voice.

Twilight, Luna, an I followed Celestia so that we could get away from the crowd, "Light I need to talk to you in private okay, I'll let you calm down before we talk. Tell one of the guards when your ready they will bring you to my room." Celestia said after we entered the palace. She then walked over to some guards and gave them instructions that I could not hear.

"I'm sorry I didn't believe that you were my sister its just that Tia has never kept  anything from me before." Luna told me as she was starting to sob .

"Its alright Luna she had her reasons behind keeping me from you but I must be off she is waiting for me." I said as I hugged her and turned to tell the guards that I was ready. As I was leaving the throne room I turned and noticed Luna crying into Twilight's shoulder. I'm gonna have to talk to her later. I thought to my self as we reached Tia's room. "Did you have to keep me from her Tia?"

"I had to keep her from knowing about you so that I could try and keep one of my sisters." she told me as she started to cry.

"I understand why you did it but she still should have been told, and right now she is an emotional wreck because she just learned about having another sister and is looking to Twilight for comfort because neither of us are there right now."

"I'm sorry Light, its just I made a mistake and instead of facing it head on I tried to cover it up please forgive me."

"I forgive you but it is Luna whom you should be asking for forgiveness from, she was the one emotionally hurt not me."

"Okay I'll go and talk to her when were done here." Tia said in a slightly better mood.

"Now that that's taken care of you should know that I have learned to use an ability that allows me to see the corruption in a pony's heart."

"How is that even possible Light? I thought that was only something that Changelings could do."

"Changelings can only sense emotions to feed. But how I can see how pure a pony's heart is simple. I started to do research in my banishment and I found that every alicorn has their own special ability, mine is to see into pony's hearts."

"Its okay Luna I'm sure Celestia had her reasons for not telling you or enypony for that matter about her." Twilight Sparkle told the crying alicorn to try and cheer her up. "I wish Pinkie was here she would have no problem cheering up Luna." she thought to herself.

"Twilight I know that she had her reasons its just I wish she would have told me." Luna tried to say in-between sobs.

"Hi princess why are you so sad it makes me soooooo upset when ponies are sad." said a pink mare that came from outta no-ware.

"Pinkie were did you come from?" Twilight jumped surprised at the sudden appearance of one of her friends.

"I noticed you two leaving Ponyville with a strange pony so I decided to follow, but when we got away from Ponyville you went and flew off so I had to try and guess were you guy went." said the bouncing pink pony.

"I thought nopony was following use I guess I was wrong."

In a better mood "I'm glad she followed us now I see why she is the element of laughter." Luna said starting to giggle. "Now that I'm in a better mood I think I should ask you something Twilight. Pinkie can you go and get you something sweet to eat I know your hungry."

"Sure thing princess." she said hopping toward the kitchen.

"Twilight I have a question that only you can give me the answer too."

"What is it Luna?"

"I would like to go and live in Ponyville for the time being, and would like to stay with the one person there that can contact my sister in a hurry. Could I stay at the library with you and Spike?"

"I don't see why not princess, but shouldn't you make sure with Celestia first?"

"She shouldn't mind and besides she is the one who is telling me to go and be with ponies other than the ones that are always at the castle."

"Luna can you come see me please?" said Celestia standing in the hall that heads toward her room.

"Bye Twilight."

"I'll be at the library if you need me." she said walking toward the door.

"Coming."

When Luna finally got close to Celestia she said "I'm sorry for not telling you about her sooner its just I did not want you to be mad at me." Celestia said starting to sob softly.

"It's alright Tia I'm not mad that you didn't tell me because I understand why you didn't. Now it is getting late lets set the sun and raise the moon then we can continue this conversation."

About five minutes later they arrived in Celestia's room where I was taking a small nap on the ground. "Lightning wake up she is here we can finish our talk now." Celestia whispered softly nudging me.

"I getting up give me a second. Luna why are you so depressed that your letting so much darkness into your heart don't you know that is how she will return."

"How did you...what the....Okay now I'm confused." Luna said taking a seat next to me.

"Maybe I should tell her about what I learned about my self while I was living in the Everfree Forest."

"Maybe you should tell her."

"Wile I was in the forest after Nightmare Moon defeated and you returned to normal I took up refuge in the old castle and read through the surviving books in the library I learned about what I was able to do which was to see the light and darkness in everypony's hearts, but that's not all I learned while there. I also learned about this."
