When Spike goes and wants to learn about his past life, he finds out that he was once something that was feared by all. And when giant, ferocious monsters start to appear and turn the cities of Equestria into their battlegrounds, it's up to Spike and his past self to fight these monsters, send them back to where they came from, and save his home. Will he succeed and drive these beasts back? Or will he become something he's trying to stop?
