Chapter 2: Death's Apprentice
CHAPTER 2: Death's Apprentice

The woman seemed to lock eyes with Ezio for a moment before looking down and start to break down crying. She curled up into herself and cried her eyes out. She seemed young...Was she lost in these woods?
Ezio's blades slid back into the mechanism and trotted over to the girl. “Are you alright madonna?” He looked at her from under his hood and she backed away from him, crying even harder now. “Why do you move away from me?”
“Because you're going to kill me!” Ezio stepped back at the outburst. “You're going to kill me and never let me see my Jace again!” She cried harder at the mention of this.. Jace...A lover perhaps? Why would he kill an innocent anyway? The first tenet of the creed is to stay your blade from the blood of an innocent.
“I would never hurt anybody madam! I-I don't even know where I am to be completely honest!” The woman looked up and stared at him for the longest time. She turned her head as she just kept looking at him with those piercing red eyes. Why are they so hypnotic?! Is she some kind of, god that has taken the form of this... Horse and come to me to guide Ezio?
“Then w-why do you wear that hood? If you're not here to harm me, it would be nice to actually see your face stranger...” She stood up and her body was caked with mud. The only way he could tell that she was originally white was because she had some showing on her face. The tears had washed away some mud on her face and it was showing her cheeks some now.
“I wear this hood because it is a tradition in the creed I am in.” She wide eyed and froze in place hearing 'creed.' “B-But I am not evil by any means madam! I am an assassin...But not for you. You are innocent in my eyes, until you have committed crimes against this world, I have no reason to go after you.” This seemed to calm her down a bit. “But, if you truly wish to see my face..” He took one hoof and pushed the hoof down, his black ponytail shining in the light. His hazel eyes dark and hard as he looked at the other horse thing. He had a serious expression on his face, showing that he meant business.
“Oh, my...Tell me...How did you come to get here stranger?” Ezio seemed taken aback, and his ears folded. How was he doing that anyway?! This is a new body and he can use his new appendages like he's been like this forever. Maybe it's instinct. Ezio looked around nervously and the woman sighed. “I thought so. Your silence tells me everything. Let me guess, it was either teleportation; or you made a deal with death with a second life.”
“Uhhh, how did you..”
“My husband is the apprentice of Death.”
Ezio's mouth dropped and he stared at the woman. “Tell me, what is his name? He told me to ask someone-”
“Pony..”
“What?”
“Somepony. We don't use 'body' in this world; it's 'pony.' Examples would be 'everypony' 'somepony' or 'anypony.'”
“Grazie madonna. He told me to ask anypony around the world about Craimer Xegen..” The woman merely chuckled at his comment.
“That's the name he goes by for doing his work. He's a DJ and his stage name is Craimer Xegen. Everypony knows who that is. We have been alive for over ten-thousand years.” She turned and looked behind her. “Name's Vinyl Scratch by the way..”
“Ezio, Ezio Auditore da Firenze.” She laughed at his name.
“That's the most interesting name by far that I've heard.”
“Well, I am from Italy on Earth. The language there is Italian, not English.” They started to talk next to each other as they walked. No sense in just standing around and being lost even longer.
“I see, explains why you kept calling me... Mado- what did you call me?”
“Madonna, means 'madam' in English.”
“Grazie?”
“Means, 'thank you.'”
“Ah, thank you for clearing that up.” She kept walking and looking down the entire time. Vinyl contemplated over things. What if Jace never finds her? What if this guy is lying to her and he isn't really what he says he is?!
“Something troubling you?” She snapped back into consciousness and looked at him with wide eyes, blinking a couple times.
“Yeah, I'm fine.. Just think....ing? Ezio, what are you doing?”
He had ran towards a dead tree and looked around it, tapping on it with his hoof. He got up on his hind legs and his blades came out, and he shoved one into the tree repeating for the other. “Wait here, I heard something and I'm going to check it out.” He climbed up the tree with his blades and got to the highest branch he could. He looked out and heard the same sound. “People!”
Ezio looked around the area and found a pile of leaves on top of a bush. “Ezio! Get down from there! You're going to hurt yourself!” Vinyl's voice reached him, but he didn't pay any mind. He threw up his hood and backed up on the branch, then ran towards the end, swan diving off the end. The shriek of Vinyl could be heard as he made his descent, but he landed safely in the leaves and bushes; unharmed.
“Dammit Ezio! What the hell were you thinking?! You could have been KILLED!!” Ezio laughed and pulled the leaves out of his hood.
“You would not believe the things I've jumped off of and landed in a small pile of hay.” He looked at her with a smile and started to walk me. “I heard people over this way, follow close.” He was so calm, how could he be this damn calm?! This guy is a serious badass! That was all Vinyl's mind could comprehend about Ezio.
The sounds of ponies grew louder as they trekked on, and started making out who the voices belonged to. “Wait, I think... Is that Jace?!” She ran off, but Ezio grabbed a hold of her tail his his mouth and stopped her.
“Whoa there madonna! You don't know that for sure!” She stopped and sighed.
“Look, being married to the same person for years on end, I think I would know how my own husband sounds.” She took her tail back and trotted off; leaving Ezio behind. He shook his head and followed close to her, wanting to know what this Jace looked like.
As Ezio turned the corner, the sound of crying could be heard. He stopped, and peeked around the corner, seeing Vinyl with... A human?! What kind of nonsense is this?!! Ezio's blades have already popped their sheathes and he was on his way towards the human; but soon found himself suspended in midair.
The human walked over and curiously studied him. “Ezio Auditore da Firenze...I was waiting for you. It's been about two weeks since we last met.” He smirked. “I am Jace, also known as Craimer Xegen..” Ezio stared in disbelief.
“But...You are a human! When I came to be in this world, I was this! How is this possible?!” Jace laughed at the assassin. “What in the cazzo is so funny?!”
“Oh, Ezio you have much to learn..”
“Learn?! All I know is that you've been alive for longer than you should be! What year is this anyway?!”
“The year is 2045. I have the power to go back and relive mine and Vinyl's moments together. I enjoyed the old days. Coming to this time, loving my wife, having fun with my friends. I had to give my friend up today. I forgot he had his funeral today.” Jace looked down and sighed. “I had to take his life... Again.”
“I'm sorry but, I couldn't relate to that.” Ezio sat there, taking in every word from this...Being. He wasn't human clearly. Possibly a lesser god if he is intertwined with Death himself. “But, I can relate to the fact of loosing a loved one. I'm sorry for your loss; requiescat i-”
“In pace...” He looked over at Ezio and smiled. “I speak Italian.” Ezio wasn't really surprised by this. If he was Death's apprentice; than of course he would have to know other languages.
“Well, we should be getting back to our home; it is getting late.” He walked off with Vinyl leaning on his leg. “I forgot this was the time you got lost in the woods.”
“Oh suuuurrrre, you just wanted to get the sex afterwords!”
“Damn! You know me to well.” The two laughed and Ezio just followed awkwardly. He didn't belong here. He belonged in a world where he could just sit and read a damn book! Not have to be in Death's home and have the constant worry of doing something wrong and being dead forever.
“Ezio, something troubling you?” Ezio looked up at Jace who wore a sympathetic look on his face.
“No, nothing at all.” He looked down and Jace just shrugged as they continued to walk.
After a while, they found themselves in the shadow of the lustrous mansion that Jace and Vinyl owned. “Well, welcome to your temporary home Ezio. Just until you can get yourself a job and get your own home. Your florence wont work here; you're going to have to use bits.” He pulled out a handful of gold and silver bits from his pocket and showed him the currency. “Gold is the most, silver the second most, copper being the least. One-hundred silver bits can be turned into one gold bit.” He put the money back in his pocket and looked at him. “You will have to get rid of your weapons and armor if you wish to relax. You may wear it when at home and may practice with weapons here; but only in emergencies can you use your blades and armor outside of the mansion.” Ezio nodded in agreement and walked to the entrance. “Your room if on the second floor, first door to your left. Get in and make yourself comfy.”
Ezio pushed the door open and gaped in awe at the amount of gold and shiny things in this home! What are those on the walls? Some, circular disk that is lamented in gold...Is it a dinner plate? Highly doubt it. It has a hole in the middle of it.
Ezio's curiosity led him upstairs and to his room, where he found a strange black box on a dresser and a comfortable looking bed. What is that black box though? It looks like...Plastic? With glass over it. What does it do? Ezio tapped a curious hoof on it and jumped back as sound came out and a picture started to move on the screen. The sound of laughter could be heard from behind him. Jace was standing with a smaller black box with buttons on it.
“Never seen a television before..” He walked over and turned it off with the box. “Sorry, forgot, Renaissance times. A television is a box that shows moving pictures. Entertainment in these times revolves around this. The ponies of Equestria developed these in 2030 when electricity was being more mass produced. They got more machines and technology from this and were able to make televisions. After a while, they were put on the market for customers.” Jace turned the television on again and saw as a pony got a pie to the face. Ezio let out a chuckle and looked back at the bed.
“I would like to... Be alone to inspect my new body. To see where....Heh, everything is now. I will take a rest as well, my journey here has taken a toll on my new body.” Jace nodded and walked out the door, tossing the box on the bed and closing the door behind him. Ezio looked at his hooves and bit off the gloves, slipped off his hidden blades, and tossed them on the bed. “Now, how to get these robes off.”
After some difficulty, he eventually got it off and was now staring at a naked him. It seemed that many of the inhabitants here did not wear any clothes. They also had strange markings on their butts, and it seemed Ezio's was the symbol of the creed. “Hmm, I wonder what that is..” He shrugged and walked to a door; opening it and inspecting the inside. What is that giant bowl thing? So many questions...Better sleep on it and just, wait it out till morning. First day, a pain in my ass.

CHAPTER 3: Coffee?
“Ahhh, cazzo! My damn neck...” Ezio groaned and rubbed his neck, closing his eyes as he tried to relieve the stress that was on it. He blinked away the sleep in his eyes and looked around the room he was in. “Well, at least I know I wasn't dreaming..” He jumped out of the bed and stretched out his body; giving his neck a good crack as his back a chance to get back to the right alignment.
“To be young again...It feels rather nice.”
“I agree..” Ezio's head whipped around to see Jace standing in the doorway of Ezio's room. “If you don't know how old you are exactly, you're at the age that you started up your own guild of assassins. I know as much as Death himself Ezio; so I know all about you.”
“If you know so much, than you know why I chose to take an easy path in life after meeting you and your master.” Jace nodded and stepped into the room.
“I do understand why you would do such a thing; but it took me by surprise to be honest. I thought you liked the killing in your life.”
“I wish to forget it.” The tone Ezio used was cold and serious. Jace smiled at this statement and walked to the balcony doors in Ezio's room. “I never wanted to kill anyone, all I wished to do was live my life as a damn banker! But those bastardos killed my family; and I had to do something.”
“I see...So it seems I was wrong about that much.” Jace shrugged and walked to the door again. “If you wish, you may walk around the town and see what there is to offer. Go find my friend Rarity in town and ask her for clothes. Get something with a hood; I know how much you like those. Just, nothing menacing. People will avoid you more than try and greet you.”
Ezio nodded and Jace left the room, leaving Ezio alone. He thought about the words that had been said just mere seconds ago; thinking back on all those times he had killed men for there crimes. He shook the thoughts out of his head and got dressed; with some difficulty. He threw up his hood and looked on his body, taking off any and all weapons on his person. The only thing he had left, was his wristblades. People hopefully wouldn't question him about that much.
He walked out of the room and down the stairs to hear some conversation from deeper in the mansion. He walked towards the conversation and soon found himself in a living room with many golden items in the room. He saw fancy dressed ponies talking to one another. When he entered the room; all attention was turned to Ezio. They all stared at him with looks of shock and curiousness. They mumbled to themselves about who he was and he saw one brave pony walk over to him. “Who invited this...Peasant to the party?” The others chuckled at the statement and Ezio stood there still, keeping his cool.
“What do they call you...Peasant?” Ezio looked up, his eyes menacing and burning with hate. The pony one stood with a smirk planted on his face; knowing that this pissed him off.
“I don't need to give my name to the likes of you.” He spat on the ground in front of the pony, who started to back off a bit.
“Such disgrace to show a noble such as I. A commoner such as yourself should be punished for doing such a thing in the likes of Prince Blueblood; nephew of Celestia herself!” Ezio kept the gaze held on the pony.
“I wouldn't care if you were the ruler of the universe. I hate cocky arrogant stronzos like yourself!”
“Those sound like fighting words sir. Are you trying to get yourself into a tussle?” Ezio jumped up onto his hind legs and his blades popped from their mechanism. This made Blueblood back away and the crowd gasp in shock.
“I would advise you didn't unless you wish to lose a head.” Ezio's words were cold and the look in his eyes said the same thing. Fuck with me; you die. This made Blueblood back off into the crowd and Ezio's blades go back to their hidden state. “Answer one question for me, why are you all in this mansion?”
“W-We are here for a party...We rented this space for the nobles of Equestria to catch on political affairs and such. This home also doubles as a meeting hall for the ponies who can afford it.” The answer came from a rather tubby looking pony wearing a top-hat and tuxedo.
“A party? I am sorry to have intruded in on your get-together. I am new to this home and I was looking for a friend. Farewell..” Ezio turned tail and left the room, heading for the stairs again. He saw Jace standing at the top of the stairs, staring at Ezio.
“I take it you met the nobles. I honestly do not know why Celestia gives her nephew eternal life, but I believe they have done things for her in the past that were on the highest of importance.” Ezio chuckled a little.
“He's just a big figa when blades are introduced.” Jace shook his head.
“What did I tell you about weapons in this world?”
“You can never be to careful. I hardly know this world; what if I need to defend myself in such a way that I would need to intimidate, or possibly kill?”
“You do have a point...As long as you keep your blades hidden from others, you may have them. Only use them for self defense.” Ezio nodded and walked towards the front door, pushing it open and shielding his eyes from the light that flooded over him. They quickly adjusted and he found himself in a very colorful world. He was drawn back by the brightness of colors, and he grew sick of them rather fast. Being in a world of dull browns and reds for his entire life, and then coming to a place where all the colors were bright and colorful, just made him sick. He pulled the hood down further to shield his eyes from the sun and walked down the cobblestone path through the front iron gates of the lustrous mansion.
His steps were slow, not really in a big hurry to get to where he was going. He saw a sign on the side of the road and it read 'PONYVILLE 0.5 MILES.' 'Guess that's where this..Rarity lives..' Ezio thought to himself as he continued down the path.
As he got closer to the town, he started to see many ponies in vivid colors, just staring at him. Ezio looked around, seeing that none of these ponies wore clothing. Guess it's not common for ponies to dress up on everyday occasions. It's probably just for special events or something.
A few minutes of walking pass and Ezio found himself in a small town with wooden buildings with hay thatched roofing. Many ponies working stopped and gave him looks as he walked through the town. He didn't care, he was used to it at this point. Even in Italy he didn't look like everyone else. The robes were a dead giveaway of him being an assassin. Many people just thought he was a wealthy man who needed to protect himself from people. But, when he drew his blade, and saw the look in his eyes, they knew exactly what he was. An assassin.
'Now, where do I find this Rarity...Better stop and ask around.' He stopped in front of a cafe and walked in through the front doors. Many ponies stopped what they were doing and just stared at him. It was dead silent in the room, all but the sound of a single ponies hoofsteps could be heard as Ezio made his way across the room to the front desk. He pushed down his hood and looked at the pony behind the counter. She had brown eyes and a light brown coat. Her hair was a dark brown color that had highlights of white in there at points.
“H-Hello sir!” She had a smile on her face that tried to hide the fear in her eyes. “W-What can I get you today?” The fear in her face was evident and Ezio tried to change his facial expression from hard to a more softer look.
“I am looking for Rarity...I am new in town and I heard that she can get me some new clothing.” The pony seemed to look relieved when he said that as other ponies started to talk to one another and go about there business.
“Oh, certainly! She has a boutique around the middle of town, it's not hard to find at all.” Ezio bowed slightly.
“Thank you miss...”
“Mocha Latte, and it was my pleasure mister...”
“Ezio, Ezio Auditore..”
She seemed to raise a brow at his name and Ezio decided to come up with a quick lie. “I am a noble from out of town. I came here for a little peace and quiet from the big city.”
“Ah, that explains the clothing then. Well, while you're here, care to stop and have a quick drink and possibly a snack as you continue your search?” She wore that same smile she had when she first saw him, but the fear in her eyes was no longer there.
“I wish I could, but I don't have any money of my own. I had every bit stolen from me by thugs on my way here.” Mocha Latte gasped and put her hoof to her mouth.
“That's terrible! Here, I'll make you my special right away! Free of charge!”
“Oh no, you don't need to do that for me...”
“But I must! After what you've been through, I should at least do something for a man such as yourself.” She gave a wink as she walked to the back of the shop and started to make Ezio's drink.
Ezio wore a soft smile as he stood there waiting for his drink. This place isn't half-bad! The peo- ponies are friendly, he can bluff his way here and get the things he needs, and he can say his name here and make a lie to cover up the fact that it's strange!
Soon, Mocha came back with a tray on her back with a cup of hot...Something. “Here you go sir! My special coffee blend!” Did she say, coffee? Well, this place isn't so different from Italy! After my first drink of coffee, I didn't really like it. I guess it just grew on me over the years.
Ezio took the cup and surprisingly, his hooves are very flexible! They can grip the handle of the cup with relative ease and he tipped the cup to his lips and took in the bitter brown drink. He smiled softly and chuckled as he put the cup down. “It's been a long time since I had time to enjoy myself. You would not believe the things I have went through.”
“Oh, I couldn't imagine. I'm just a common pony. Now, a noble like yourself should have many things to care about. Politics and such are a hassle for anypony in this world we live in today.” As she was talking, Ezio was taking another sip and he nodded in agreement.
“Though, my specialty isn't politics. It is about business than anything.” Mocha nodded and Ezio took another sip. “Though the business isn't that big, it's still a handful..”
“What?”
“Err...Hoof-full of work. The papers and the workers and this and that. It's hard work.”
“Oh, I can relate. I've owned this cafe since my mother passed away. My father is still around, though that's because he helped Celestia with something in the past and he got the favor of immortality.” She shrugged. “I don't see him much but he's still an amazing stallion.”
Ezio nodded and soon finished his drink. He put up his hood and smiled at Mocha. “Well, thank you for the drink. It's been too long since I've sat down and enjoyed some small chat.” Mocha smiled at him.
“Thank you for talking with me! I enjoy small chat whenever I can get it. I've been so busy lately. I hope you enjoy your stay here in Ponyville Ezio! See you around!” Ezio nodded and walked towards the doors, pushing them open and walking down the path again; filled with coffee and happiness.
“Maybe living here won't be all that bad..” He thought outloud.
His thoughts kept him entertained all the way to Rarity's boutique. It was a very beautiful building, though not as big as Jace's mansion. It was round and was painted pink, blue and white. There were two stories and the upper story had pillars and ponies impaled through the pillars. It came up from largest at the bottom to smaller at the top and was capped with a cone with orange and yellow swirls with a spike protruding from the top of the cone. It had a red flag on it that blew gently in the breeze.
Ezio walked up to the door, not giving a care in the world, and then he heard it. A scream from inside the doors.

CHAPTER 5: Howdy!
Author's Note: Well, I see a lot of comments of Rarity and Ezio being together...Let me tell you guys right now, they're NOT together. I never said they were. All she did was give him a thank you kiss and Ezio was born in a time of chivalry, so he kindly kissed her hoof. I never said they were together, it's just a strong possibility. Also, WHOOO. I’M BACK TO THIS FIC! WHO’S HAPPY?
'This is great! I thought it would be annoying with a lot of people here; but this is one of the best parties I've ever had!' Ezio smiled as he walked around the mansion, introducing himself to the ponies of Ponyville. He shared a good laugh between him and a few of the ponies, and he even taught some to speak a little Italian. Mainly one or two words like grazie or madonna.
He was introduced to everyone and was fairly liked by the residence. If they could get used to Jace, then they could get used to a pony that had a funny accent and wore strange clothes. The residence got used to seeing Jace walk around with a hood most of the time, so they weren't all that bothered when Ezio wore it.
Ezio looked around the room after being introduced and didn't see Jace anywhere. He asked around but no one said they saw him at all. He started to get curious, but let it slide since people were starting to dance to the music being made by the woman of the house.
As he moved to the beat and watched some ponies start dancing with each other, he noticed Black Gold walking upstairs. Ezio narrowed his eyes and moved through the sea of ponies, careful not to disturb anyone. He walked up the stairs and tailed Black Gold into Jace's room.
“I told you to come home an hour ago Gold..”
“Hey! It's not my fucking fault that you only let me out once a month to go see my daughter and say hi to everyone! If it didn't have to recharge my batteries after two days of being out of your mind, I would be out forever!”
A audible sigh could be heard from Jace. “I'm sorry...I know how hard it is for you to be with your daughter...Aksheal is still working on trying to lengthen your time out of my mind but it's hard to do! He can do it because he's a god, and has the power. I WANT you to be happy Gold! You're part of me, and you're probably the best part of me! You've been around for as long as I have and since the day you came to be, I've been happy when you came out. After Coal died..” Another sigh. “You were really my best friend. Zeke is my teacher but, he's not a friend that you can share things with. He's Death! He doesn't want to hear about my problems...”
“I'm sorry I snapped at you Jace...It pisses me off that I can't see my daughter for more than two days! It also makes me mad that I have to lie and say that I did something for Princess Celestia and she granted me eternal life! I don't want to lie to Mocha...” 'Mocha?! Black Gold is her father?! What is this nonsense?! This doesn't make any sense! It makes just as much sense with me and Desmond! I still don't know who he is...'
“I know...But Mocha wouldn't understand...She would think you're crazy!” Ezio was leaning in to hear but he lost his balance after a while and fell forward, making some sound. “What was that?” The sound of footsteps could be heard as Jace went to go check it out. He poked his head out the door and looked around, seeing nothing. “Must have been my imagination..”
Ezio let out a sigh as Jace went back into the room. He jumped down from the ceiling he clung too with his wristblades and ran off back to the party. He let his mind wander after getting back into the crowd of ponies. 'Letting him out of his mind? What in the hell does that mean?! Who is this Aksheal that I heard about? Another god like Minerva? I need a drink..'
He made his way over to the bar that was being run by a pony in a nice suit. “Ah! The man of the hour has come for a drink! What can I get you today?”
“Get me something strong...” He sighed and rubbed on his temples a bit, trying to make sense of what he just heard.
“Ah'll have what he's havin'..” Ezio raised his head and looked to his right. An orange mare wearing a hat was sitting next to him, looking quite sad.
“I haven't seen you here before...Did you just arrive madonna?” The bartender passed him his drink. “Grazie.” He took a sip of his drink just as the mare got her drink.
“Thank ya...Well, yeah Ah just got here...Ah had ta be at mah husband's funeral today..” She took a drink of her drink. “He was a great man...Did many things fer our world...Ah'm certain you know his friend...Jace..”
“I do...” He took a sip of his drink. “What was the name of your husband if you don't mind me asking..”
“Coal...Coal Buck...Great man..” She sighed and looked over at him. The two locked eyes for a minute and stayed like that for about a minute before their eyes moved from each other. The blushing was noticeable on both of the ponies. Ezio coughed and rubbed the back of his neck.
“Erm...Well...I have no doubt he was a good pony-”
“Human...” Ezio quickly turned to look at her.
“Human?! I thought Jace was the only human.” The mare shook her head.
“Naw...Well, he's the only human here now anyways...Ah miss that boy ta no end. He was the greatest thing that ever happened ta me...” She looked down and then back up at him. “Names Applejack by the way...Howdy stranger..” She tipped her hat to him.
“Ezio Auditore..” He reached out his hoof for a shake and Applejack shook his hoof. “It's nice to meet you Applejack...”
“Likewise...Ah'm sorry if Ah'm not all chippery at the moment. Ah really ahm glad Ah met ya Ezio. But Ah won't be mahself until Ah get ovah his death..” Ezio nodded and took another sip of his drink.
“I understand...I had to deal with death as well. I lost my brothers and my father all in one day..” He sighed. “I still remember it like it was yesterday.” Memories played back in his mind like a movie as he watched his father and two brothers being hanged on the gallows.
“That's horrible..Ah'm sorry fer yer loss...” He shook his head.
“Don't worry about it...I've gotten over it long ago..” He looked in his cup and saw that there was still a good bit of alcohol in the glass. He took the glass and put it to his lips, chugging the rest of the contents down and letting out a satisfied sigh. “Well, I better get back to the party...Nice meeting you Applejack..”
“Likewise..” Ezio moved away from the bar, getting back into the crowd of ponies and enjoying himself. That mare still lingered in his mind. She was so sad, and looked so helpless. He wanted to do something for her, but what?! All he could tell her was that things were going to be alright, but he didn't know if they would be for her or not. He pondered this until the party died down and ponies started to go home.
After wishing ponies safe travels on their way home, Ezio retired to his room. He threw off his robes and hopped onto his bed, staring at the remote to his TV curiously. He tested a button and the TV turned on. Satisfied with figuring this out, he got under his covers and watched Mare Grylls adventure through the toughest terrains known to man.
As he watched, he let his mind wander to the events that happened that day. Saving Rarity, meeting Black Gold, having the party, the discovery of Black Gold being part of Jace, Applejack losing her husband, and everything in between. His thought his new life would be less chaotic, but it was far from it from what he could tell.
“Maybe some sleep will calm my nerves..” He thought outloud as Mare Grylls made her way through the Hoofrican Rain Forest. He watched until the show was over and clicked the TV off, getting down into his sheets and laying his head on the pillow.
“I just want tomorrow...To be a normal day...” He closed his eyes with that final comment, and drifted off to sleep. Too bad a normal day wasn’t on his agenda.
Author’s Note: Really sorry about the lack of updates for this story, everypony! I’ve just had writers block REAL BAD. Like to the point where I couldn’t even write a sentence without having to get someone to hold my hand through it. But, I hope to come back to this! HOPEFULLY!

CHAPTER 6: The Apple
“EZIO!” The assassin jolted to the yell, and groaned, rubbing his head. “Wake up! I got a job for you..” Ezio turned his head and saw as Jace walked off, the sound of a door opening from down the hall. “Hurry up!”
Ezio shook his head and sighed, hopping out of bed and grabbing his assassin garb. ‘Well, if it’s a job…’ He thought to himself, sliding into his robes. He threw up his hood, and trotted off into the hall, seeing Jace leaning against a doorframe.
“Come.” He says, walking inside. Ezio follows behind him, and the room turned out to be a large library of sorts. “I need you for a very important mission, Ezio… I need you to find out something… Something that has been wracking my brain for a while now.” He walks to a large desk, and points at a map. “Just as you came into Equestria, Aksheal has been acting… Strange. Lately.”
“You still have yet to tell me who this… ‘Aksheal’ is…” Jace sighs and runs a hand through his long brown hair.
“It’s complicated… He’s a part of me, and is me in all standards… He looks over my Dream Realm that I have, a little gift of Reapers…” Ezio raises a brow, and trots to the desk, hopping up onto his hind hooves to get a better look at what he was pointing at.
It was a large map of Equestria, and his finger laid on a large mountainous region, a good ways away from where he marked Ponyville. A soft glowing came from where he pointed. “...What is it?”
“I believe Aksheal has picked up the traces of another Apple…” Ezio snaps his gaze towards Jace, who stares back. “Yes. I know. You didn’t want to live this life anymore, but it is a problem. If fallen into the wrong hands… Or hooves… This could mean the end days for Equestria.”
“How is this possible?! Where did it come from?! How did it get he-”
“Allow me to explain… YOU.” He shoves a finger into his chest, and he promptly falls back onto all fours. “Are what brought them to power… They were lying dormant, and apparently, they’re EVERYWHERE. Every world, every dimension, every plain of existence. Aksheal is already trying to deal with the Apple that has been registering in his world of Markarth, and has only been able to locate one. In total, we have three in three different worlds, all connected for some reason. And YOU are the one that made them activate again..”
Ezio looks down, and tries to process the information. “So, what do I need to do?”
“Travel to the mountain ranges… There you will find a cave near the peak, housing this Apple of Eden… If you can recover it, and get back, we can find out what all this means, and we can put it all to rest.”
“And if I fail?”
“Then it’ll be my job to recover them… You’re best suited for the job, because you know what you’re doing in all this. I’m just the powerhouse, I’m no assassin.” Ezio raises a brow again and Jace rolls his eyes. “Alright. I’m a magical being who has the ability to kill anyone and anything that I see fit, but that doesn’t mean I know how to use and detain an Apple of Eden. I only know what you’ve done in your past life, Ezio. Nothing less nothing more.”
Ezio sighs, and cracks his neck. “How do I get there, what am I bringing, and how long will it take?” He asks, looking into Jace’s red eyes.
He smiles, and walks over to a bookshelf, pulls back a book, and the whole shelf swings forward, revealing a small room with assorted blades and armaments and the such. “You will be going for the Crystal Mountains, a day’s train ride from Ponyville…” He says, pointing to a large map of Equestria on the wall. “From there you will go through the Crystal Empire, and make your way to the top of this mountain.” He points, and his finger lands on the top of a large mountain near the Empire. “From there, you will have to find a cave… I take it it would be elaborate, though it can’t be for sure. I’ve never heard of any cults or guilds or the like that would’ve taken it upon themselves to hide away this Apple from anyone… Though I may be mistaken. There could be secret assassins living in Equestria, but it’s not a given.”
Ezio studies this map, and locks it into his brain for the path that he has to take. “What about food? Supplies?” Jace leads him over to a case, and opens it, tossing him a saddlebag full of food, a bedroll, and other assorted things he would need along the way.
“You take your weapons, your supplies that you came with, and anything else you may need. It’s going to be cold, so dress warm.”
“Don’t worry, I have all that covered…” He says, patting his chest with a smirk. “When do I leave?”
“As soon as you are ready to go…”
“Buona…” Ezio mutters in Italian before trotting out of the room, filled with knowledge and slight excitement for the trip. “I was just starting to miss the old days..”
A few hours later, and some walking done, Ezio is at the train station, along with Jace who wore his cloak and hood, along with Ezio in his full assassin garb, his supplies, and all of his weapons ready to be used. “Now, I can’t stress this enough that Ponies will try and pick fights with you. It doesn’t matter who, if they are innocent, take them down, but don’t kill them. I’m the judge of that. I give you free reign to kill anything that is hostile towards you, and or will try to stop you in this mission..”
“Grazie… What is this machine called again?” Ezio asks, looking at the large train in front of him.
“A steam train. It gets you from point A to point B faster than walking or riding a horse as you would know best..”
“And now I am the horse..” Ezio sighs, and shakes his head. “Still not fully used to this…”
“Don’t worry. You’ll figure it out.” Jace says, patting him on the back. “Good luck, Ezio. Once you have the Apple, come back as fast as you can. Don’t tell anyone that you have it, it’ll just cause more problems.”
“Got it… Addio amico mio..”
“Viaggi sicuri, amico…” Ezio smiles at the Italian goodbye, and reaches out a hoof. Jace grabs a hold of his forearm and smiles back at him. “Give ‘em hell…”
“I plan on it..” The two turn, and go their separate ways as Ezio boards the train as the conductor yells that the train will be departing soon. He finds his way to his seat, and sits down, looking out of the window to Jace. The train lets out a whistle, and then starts to chug along. Ezio holds up a hoof to Jace, who returns the gesture by putting his hand up, and then walks off as the train gets rolling.
Ezio sighs as he sits in his seat, and watches the landscape around him start to move, and slowly starts to speed up as the train gathers speed along the way. ‘This is nice… Don’t have to move… It’s a large carriage..’ He thought to himself as he threw off his hood and leaned back, making himself comfortable as he started to think.
He thought about all the possible enemies he could encounter along the way. Templars were the first ones to cross his mind, next coming to guards of the Apple. ‘No, Jace said there was no written knowledge on these groups being here… But what if it wasn’t written..?’ He thought hard about it, trying to fit pieces in his head together as the train chugged on.
‘This should take a while… Jace said it would take a day for me to get here on this.. Train. Better get some sleep so I’m ready..’ He thinks to himself. He throws up his hood again, and covers his eyes from the light so he could sleep peacefully. He hunkers down on the soft train seat, and sighs a sigh of content. “Stessa merda, altro giorno…” He says softly to himself, chuckling at the phrase as he slowly drifts off to sleep.
Little did Ezio know, that tomorrow was going to be the day that his skills were put to the ultimate test.

"Ezio, wake up you old fool..." Ezio's eyes opened slowly and he found himself in the middle of darkness. He looked around and sat up, feeling the familiar warmth of a hood over his head. "Good, you're awake.."
Ezio turned his head to see a man in black robes with a red trim, holding a scythe. "Surprised to see me? I thought an assassin was supposed to embrace Death." He held his arms out with a chuckle. "Well, come and embrace me, Assassin.." Ezio jumped up, his blades at the ready.
“If you are truly Death, tell me one thing, what is my age and when did I leave the good Earth?” His eyes were locked on the hooded figure, standing with blades out. He wasn't about to take any chances with this guy.
Death only chuckled. "A feisty one. I remember your type." He floated around Ezio as he spoke. “You are 65 years of age....Oh, let me get my book..” Death held out a bony hand and a black flame encased rose from his palm. A book was left in place of the flame after a while and he flipped through the pages, pulling out a pair of reading glasses and moving a finger down the entries. “E..E..Ezi...Ezio Auditore! Here we g- Wait.. That was another Auditore... Ah, here we go! Ezio Auditore da Firenze! Ah, here we go. Cause of death, heart attack.” He closed the book and it fell into dust.
"My own student was like you, full of fight, not afraid of anything. I think you two would get along quite well. Let me call him, he needs a bit of training at being Death."
He snapped his bony fingers and a black flame came from next to him, a figure in gold robes and black trim forming beside him. The figure turned and narrowed his red eyes as he looked over to Death. "This is a joke correct?" Ezio just stood, confused.
"I'm sorry but, I have to say something." The master and student looked over at Ezio at the same time. "If you are Death, why have you hesitated to make your decision? Isn't Death supposed to make the final decision rather quick?"
"Assassin, you have much to learn about Death." Ezio turned his attention to the golden cloaked apprentice. "We have the power to give second chances, to give you another chance at life. You have lived your life to your fullest and have done all you could when you were among the living...You have deserved this as much as the next. Not to mention, we do like one who is not afraid of Death. This is how I came to be Death's student."
"So, I get another life eh? Do I get to choose how old I would like myself to be?"
"Yes, you get the freedom of how old you are, and what world you would like to go to."
"I choose to go to a world that will be easy on an old man such as myself. I don't wish to run around all over God's forsaken Earth in search of artifacts. I wish to live in a home and be with a woman. To be a father and not have to leave my kin so suddenly because of my age." The gold cloaked man looked at him with his red eyes.
“What age would you like to be for your new life?”
“Young as I was when I started my adventures...But... Keep the van dike..” He chuckled and stroked his beard. “I've taken quite a fancy to it..” Death nodded and ripped a hole in the darkness with his scythe. The hole grew in size and it revealed a yellow swirling vortex.
"This world shall suit your requests, assassin. Make sure to say hello to my student while you are there." The man in the golden cloaks bowed towards Ezio, who looked utterly confused.
"You'll know when you see him. He is not like the others." Death chuckled and then sunk back into the ground of the blackness. The golden cloaked man remained, looking right at Ezio.
"As you leave this place, your weapons will remain. But this land you are traveling too will not take to kindly to the weapons strapped to your body. I suggest you come to my home as quickly as possible when getting there. Ask for Craimer Xegen, though that is not my name, people will understand what you mean. I hope to see you soon, Ezio Auditore da Firenze." The man sunk into the ground with one last thing to say, "Enjoy your stay in, Equestria."
Ezio stood alone now, in the middle of a dark room with a portal to his new life in front of him. He was going to get the life he always wanted, and possibly more! But there were so many questions going through his mind right now. Who is Craimer? What is Equestria? What does he mean, 'he isn't like the rest?' Hopefully, these answers will be answered when he stepped through that portal. It looks so mesmerizing, like when he first looked upon the Apple and it's knowledge was revealed to him. He was almost blinded by the light, but didn't care; he just stood and watched as colors intertwined and changed to the shining gold of the rest of the portal. He found himself walking closer to it, until he reached an arm in and pulled it back, seeing that all his fingers were still in place. He stepped back quite a ways and looked back at the portal.
"Your new life starts here Ezio.." He told himself. "Let's see what it's like.." He took off at a full sprint, and when he got close to the portal, he jumped in.
He started to fall into a vortex of golden colors and electricity all around him. He tried to keep his cool but he ended up loosing his composure at about five minutes of free falling through this yellow hell.
As he fell, he saw memories of his past life flash before him, seeing his father, their execution, his triumph over the Pope, killing Cesare Borgia, and seeing the bones of Altair. His life flashed before him as he fell, yelling as his arms flailed around hopelessly, trying to grab onto something. He soon saw a white light and was encased in it's full glory, blinded, and on his way to a new life.
* * * *
“Agh, la mia testa!” Ezio opened his eyes slowly and groaned as he felt his head throb. He reached around and rubbed the back of his neck, when he stopped in mid rub. He brought his hand around to his face and yelled out when he saw it. It wasn't a hand! It was a hoof!
“Che diavolo?!” He looked at his other appendages and realized he wasn't even a human anymore! He was a horse of some kind! What did Death do to him?!
“Have I been tricked by Death himself? I said a new life! Not a new damn body!” He stamped a hoof in frustration and sighed, sitting on his haunches. He looked at his body and saw he was still wearing his weapons all around his person. He remembered Death's warning about the people around here not liking others with weapons. He sighed and looked at his surroundings. “A forest? This makes everything so much better!”
Ezio stood up and heard some rustling from right next to him. He quickly got into a stance on his back legs and his blades popped out of the mechanism and he stood at the ready for anything to attack him. What he wasn't ready for, was the brilliant white of a female horse walking out of the bushes.

Chapter 4: Trouble in Paradise
CHAPTER 4: Trouble in Paradise
Author's Note: Rendering out last parts of a game playthrough, at midnight, with coffee and Skrillex? Yeah, I think I'm going to have a pretty good night tonight. Better than last night...That was the equivalent of shooting myself in the foot. Might rant later in a blog post, whateves. Anyway, enjoys!
Ezio was snapped out of his high on life when the scream came from inside the boutique. He reacted fast and got onto his hind legs and jumped to get hold of a windowsill. He climbed up and started to climb for the top, for that's where the screams came from.
Once he got to the window he looked in, he saw a black and red stallion attacking a white unicorn, much like Vinyl but with purple hair instead of blue. Ezio wasted no time and smashed through the window, standing tall and menacing in his robes. “Leave the lady alone...”
The stallion turned and smirked. “Ohhh, a tough guy! What are you gonna do? Shower me with money you stupid rich sunnuva..” He then saw Ezio rear back on his hind legs and the blades slowly fall out of their sheaths.
“Awww, looks like the big man brought some toys! Well, blades or not I'll still kick the shit out of- OOF!” A yellow and black blur shot across the room and made contact with the black stallion, sending him flying into the wall. The blur happened to be a yellow and black pegasus with red eyes.
The pegasus stood in front of Ezio and he turned to face him. “Beat the buck outta him..” He said with a smirk. Ezio chuckled and walked over to the black stallion, cracking his neck and bringing his hoof up and bringing it down on the stallion's face. He repeated this over and over until the stallion was barely conscious. Ezio got off of him and the stallion stood, and stumbled out of the door.
The next thing that happened caught Ezio totally off guard. He was tackled by the white pony that was being attacked and started getting hugged. “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” She planted her lips firmly on Ezio's and this made him go wide eyed. She cried as she kissed him, and soon pulled from him and hugged on him some more. “If you hadn't had been here, I don't know what that brute might have done!”
“What's done is done..You are safe miss...”
“Rarity...Oh, thank you for saving me darling!”
“Well, I didn't do it all..” He looked over at the yellow pegasus who just stood there with a smile on his face. “What are you smiling at?”
“Oh, you two...You look so cute together.” Rarity and Ezio started to turn beet red at his comment and this got a chuckle out of the yellow pegasus. “Are you alright Rarity? That guy hurt you?”
“No but he was about to if you two hadn't been here to save me! Thank you...Oh I'm sorry darling, I didn't get your name!” Rarity turned towards Ezio who was still blushing under his hood.
“Ezio madam...Ezio Auditore...I am a noble from out of town..” She went wide eyed and started to try and fix up her mane.
“Oh! A noble! I'm so sorry you had to come in and witness this sir..” Ezio put up a hoof for her to stop.
“You do not need to look your best for me. I am only here for some new clothing. Where I'm from, it is normal for the civilians to wear clothing. But, it does not seem that way here. I just need something less...Flashy...And a bit brighter than black and gray if you have it. Plus, I really enjoy hoods. If you could add one to the mix, it would be appreciated.”
“I will get right on that order darling! It will be free of charge from me after all you had to go through. I just need to know where you are staying currently..”
“I live with uhh...Craimer Xegen I guess..” This made Rarity stop and stare at him with a confused look.
“You live with Jace and Vinyl Romero? Well, that makes sense that you wear clothes now. You're not a noble at all!”
Ezio sighed. “Yes, that is a lie I make up for the common folk to not be suspicious about my strange name..” He looked into her eyes with a deadpan expression. “I am from Earth...” This made Rarity even more confused than before.
“Then..Shouldn't you be a human, darling?”
“I guess getting a second chance from Death doesn't do that. I was like this when I came here.” She nodded.
“I know who Jace is; and others do as well.” Now it was Ezio's turn to be confused.
“Others?”
“The other Elements of Harmony! Did he leave that part out?” A slow nod came from Ezio's head. “Well, me and five other ponies in Ponyville are what's called the Elements of Harmony. There are six in total; Honesty, Kindness, Laughter, Generosity, Loyalty and Magic. I represent Generosity. My five other friends represent the others.”
“That must explain the reason of your eternal life then...”
“Yes, it is rather marvelous! I get to make fashion the way I see it in the future! I think it's just grand.”
“Well, thank you miss Rarity; but I will have a little chat with this pony over here and leave you to your work.” He raised her hoof and kissed it lightly. This got a bright blush out of Rarity when he did and she trotted off downstairs.
“Well, that didn't take long for you to find a love interest...” The yellow pony was now laying on the ground. “Well, it was the same for Jace in the long run...”
“Who are you..” Ezio's words were now cold, not as cheerful when he was talking to Rarity.
“Such hate...I am a representation of Jace...I am the pony that manifested inside of him and finally just, broke free! It took me a while but I got out when a spell went wrong a long time ago. I've been around here and there..” He put a hoof out. “Names Black Gold, I know about you Ezio. I live in the same house with you. You just never see me around since I'm around just being myself.”
Ezio reached out and shook his hoof. “It's nice to meet you...” His attention was now drawn to his wings and tail. “Metal wings and tail?”
“Huh? Oh! No, this is a special kind of feather gel that sticks wings together. It helps with the sound of the wings since their now stuck together... The black things are bracers to help when I fly. My tail is the same way, I just think it looks cool like that.”
“I see...Well, Black Gold, I must go now. I hope to see you around the house. Thank you for helping me with that stronzo.”
“You're welcome Ezio. Arrivederci amico~” He smiled as he jumped out the broken window and flew off into the sky.
“Well, this has been a very interesting day..” He walked down the stairs to see Rarity getting busy on his order. She gave him a small wave on his way out the door and he returned the gesture, closing the door behind him.
Ezio started to begin his long trek home, getting into the downtown area of the small town, when he was confronted by a pink pony.
“OHMIGOSH! You're new here! How do I know you're new here, well I know everypony, but I've never seen you before! I have to get started on a surprise party! Though it's not a surprise anymore that I told you about throwing a surprise party, so I guess that's fine! That reminds me of a funny time about telling...” Holy flying bards! This pony is pazzo! I need to get out of here before... “Ah! I gotta get that party started!” The pony ran off in a cloud of dust and Ezio coughed.
“What...What just happened?” Ezio looked around, not talking to anyone in particular. He blinked a couple times trying to comprehend what the hell just happened! A pink pony ran up and started talking at lightning fast speeds; something about a party, and then ran off. 'I really am going to need to have a stiff drink when I get back to the mansion..'
As Ezio reached the mansion, he felt happy to be back. But, there was something..Odd about the house. The lights were off. Meh, probably not home at the moment. Well, that's good! He could search the entire house without anyone telling him otherwise.
Ezio approached the door and pushed it open and was greeted with a loud SURPRISE! This was enough to make Ezio yelp and fall on his side and get laughs from the ponies in the mansion. He was helped out by Jace in getting up and he was laughing.
“Well, I should have warned you about Pinkie! She throws parties for all the newcomers in Ponyville! Looks like you're not going to get any sleep tonight Ezio!”
'….CAZZO!!'
* * * *
“GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO!” The crowd chanted as Ezio downed his fifteenth mug of alcohol that night. The pony in front of him was blathering drunk at this point.
“Ave' I evah told ya about tha time I lost at drinkin'? Cause, I just deed...” The pony passed out right in front of everypony and Ezio's hoof was raised high.
“WINNER OF THE DRINKING CONTEST!” The crowd cheered as Ezio stood proud and jumped on his hind legs and blew kisses out through the crowd, laughing and having fun.
'Maybe this wasn't a bad idea after all!'
Author's Note: Yeah, short chapter...I just really wanted the party out of the way so I can get to the more fun stuff later on. Also, Black Gold, haven't mentioned him in another story. BUT HE WILL BE IN THERE. MARK MY WORDS. Kthnxbai
