Not Fazed

The princesses, the six ponies and Spike, and John, were led up to, what appeared to be Celestia's room, and onto her balcony, on her balcony, was a telescope near the railing of the balcony, one by one, from the princesses to the six ponies and Spike, looked through the telescope, and gasped, John looked through it, and it was confirmed, flying toward the castle, was a giant, blue scaled, dragon, Princess Celestia spoke up,

"Alright Luna, call up all your guards and round them up by the entrance to the castle, I'll do so with mine too." Celestia said, Luna nodded and headed back down the stairs to go summon her guards, Celestia then said, "This is an example of why we need you, we have gotten word from a mysterious mare in a black cloak, that the colony of dragons were gonna attack the castle, but we all thought she was crazy, since we have agreed with the dragons that they could have free access to the "'Gem Mine," if they would stop terrorizing Canterlot many years ago, but, after one of our lead miners reported that the Gem Mine was out of Gems, we began to worry, we could easily make them leave us alone with the promise of another mine, but unfortunately, our other mines have been filled in with water for some unknown reason, we found that odd since there are no lakes or ponds around any of the mines, but the only explanation we could come up with was that each one was connected to an underground lake." she explained, John thought it was highly unlikely that each one would, coincidentally, "be connected to a underground lake," but decided not to question the logic of a world filled with magic.

Everyone's thoughts were interrupted by a loud roar, everyone looked up and saw that the dragon no longer needed a telescope to be seen, in that moment, they all ran down the castle stairs, Celestia stayed behind a bit to gather her guards, they all got outside, to be greeted by Luna and her guards, they all looked up at the dragon that was getting closer by the second.

On closer inspection, the dragon was starting to aim its body at the ground, getting ready to land, right at that moment, Celestia came outside with her royal guards right behind her, one of the guards carried an extra helmet and sword, that specific guard trotted over to John,

"You know how to wield one of these?" she asked, he just shook his head, "Don't worry, its easy." she said, handing (hoofing?) over the helmet and sword, John put on the helmet, and held on to the sword with his two hands, it was a bit heavy, but easy to wield, the guard who gave him the stuff went back over to her spot just in time, as the dragon began to land, one guard shouted,

"Get ready!" right as he said that, the wind from the dragons wings were so strong, it was hard to stand up, then after a few seconds, the dragon finally landed, and let out a deafening roar, then . . . silence.

John looked around, and saw that everyone was completely frozen, the six ponies were terrified along with the baby dragon, all of the guards looked ready to cut off anyone's head if they messed with them, and the princesses looked like John, completely blank faced.

John looked up at the dragon, it looked a little grey around its face, and had a couple of wrinkles under its eyes, it appeared to be an old dragon, it then cleared its throat, and began to speak.

"PRINCESS CELESTIA AND PRINCESS LUNA, AS YOU MAY RECALL, MANY YEARS AGO, YOU MADE A PROMISE, AND THAT PROMISE WAS, THAT IF WE STOP ATTACKING CANTERLOT, THEN WE WOULD HAVE FREE ACCESS TO YOUR GEM MINES, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, THE MINE IS COMPLETELY EMPTY, AND WE COULDN'T HELP BUT NOTICE THAT YOUR OTHER MINES, ARE FILLED TO THE BRIM WITH WATER, SO, LET US MAKE A PROMISE TO YOU!" the dragons voice could be heard miles and miles away, but the ponies were showing no signs of fear, except for Fluttershy, who looked like she would rather be in bed asleep.

"And just what is this, "Promise," your colony has for us?" Luna asked, the dragon let a chuckle,

"I'M GLAD YOU ASKED PRINCESS!" he said, he then looked down at John and smiled, "OH, AND WHO MAY THIS BE, YOUR NEW PET PRINCESS, WHAT'S YOUR NAME?" he asked John teasingly, Celestia growled,

"This "new pet," of mine, just so happens to be capable to stopping you from trying anything!" the dragon then shouted,

"SILENCE, LET HIM INTRODUCE HIMSELF FIRST!"it called, John looked around, and saw that all eyes were on him, he took in a breath, and began to speak,

". . . John . . . my name is John." his voice came out loud and clear, but in a deadpan tone, as if he was talking to somebody he didn't want to talk to, which he was, the dragon let a snort,

"WELL, "JOHN," I DON`T KNOW WHY THE PRINCESSES WOULD THINK THAT "YOUR" CAPABLE OF STOPPING ME, YOUR TOO SMALL, I WOULD CRUSH YOU LIKE A BUG!" he shouted, Luna then cut in?

"What was this promise of your colony's?" she said, the dragon let out another snort,

"WELL, ITS QUITE SIMPLE REALLY, ALL WE NEED YOU TO DO, IS EMPTY THE MINES THAT ARE FILLED WITH WATER, AND WE WON'T ATTACK!" the dragon said, Celestia cringed a bit,

"I-I'm sorry, but we . . . we don't have enough resources to do that." she said, the dragon growled,

"AWWWWWWW, THAT'S TOO BAD, CAUSE WE'RE AWFUL HUNGRY!" he said, he then looked down at John and smiled, "OH, YOU LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE ENOUGH MEAT ON YA TO LAST ME FOR THE TRIP BACK TO TELL MY COLONY THE "BAD NEWS!" he said, picking him up with two fingers and putting him close to his mouth, everyone began to yell at it, yet John made no attempt to struggle,

"PUT HIM DOWN, NOW!" Celestia called, the dragon smirked,

"FINE, HE DOESN'T SQUIRM LIKE I LIKE MY PRAY TO DO!" he said, dropping John, but when John got half way down to earth, the dragon took his tail, and whipped John into the castle wall, before landing on his back on the ground, everyone gasped,

"JOHN!" Celestia called out in shock, but, to everyone's, and even the dragons surprise, John slowly got up to his feet, a cracking sound coming from his back making everyone, even the dragon cringe, John noticed the dragon cringing, and gave a confident smirk, and began to crack one knuckle at a time, making the dragon cringe more,

"STOP IT!" he shouted, but John continued to crack each knuckle, eventually, the dragon looked like he was on the verge of tears, the dragon began to growl, his growl got louder and louder, until finally, his growling was shaking the earth, "THAT'S IT!" he shouted, before breathing fire in John's direction, John barely managed to jump out of the way, "FINE, IF YOUR NOT GONNA COOPERATE, THEN SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR PATHETIC LIVES!" he shouted, throwing a punch toward the group of ponies, but they managed to avoid the punch, but the poor castle received a huge hole through it, a guard then called,

"ATTAAAAAAAAAAACK!" and in seconds, all of the guards, John, the princesses, and the six ponies with Spike, began to attack.

The princesses, Twilight and Rarity, and a couple of guards, were shooting powerful spells at the dragon, all of the pegasi were flying around its head, attacking its head and every once in a while, shouting a witty comment at it, and the earth ponies were either bucking its feet, or slashing a sword at its feet, John was hacking and slashing at its feet, even Spike was helping, he was using his tail like some sort of jack hammer, and hitting its feet, the dragon then shouted,

"FOOLS!" he then stomped on the ground, stunning everyone, except John, who just kept slashing at his feet, which was then interrupted by a giant foot nearly squishing him, the dragon then knocked the stunned pegasi to the ground, and kicked the earth ponies into a group, so now that his attackers were in one group, he leaned down, and he breathed a wad of fire at them, they just barely dodged the flames, "HOLD STILL!" he shouted, breathing more fire.

John had to think of a plan, and fast . . . John noticed that when the dragon leaned down, he had a type of tunnel vision, in which, the dragon was only focused on one thing at a time, so he had an advantage with that, he then remembered that, the neck, was one of the weakest points of a body, one swift karate chop to the neck, and you could die, it was risky, but he had to try it.

The dragon drew in another breath, before breathing more fire, John dodged it, and went in the opposite direction of the group, the dragon didn't notice, and kept his flames on the ponies and Spike, he sneaked his way under the dragon's head, pointed the tip of the blade at the dragons neck, and with one hard thrust, jabbed the blade into the dragons neck, the dragons eyes widened, and he began to flail around, his head swinging violently, and when the dragon's neck was in John's reach, John pulled out his sword, and stabbed it into the dragon's neck, the dragon was trying to gasp for breath, but the air that he sucked in was escaping through the two holes in his neck, and so was his blood, John pulled out the sword again, and with the hardest thrust he could muster, he stabbed the blade right into his neck again, the dragon's flailing began to slow down, and he started to look tired, with one final attempt for air, the dragon began to topple over, and John began to run as fast as he could . . .

but his running was cut short as the dragon toppled, and his jaw landed on top of John's legs . . .

And everything went black.
