The Death Of Friendship

Hours past, but slow and painful. Spike's body in the centre of the room was still untouched. Nopony spoke a word after Rainbow Dash told Twilight to move along. Twilight couldn't take it anymore, how could she and her friends just sit there when their family and other friends were dead on the cold, hard ground left to rot?

"I can't take this anymore." Twilight mumbled.

"Can't take what?" Fluttershy asked.

"I can't take this, what we're doing now, just sitting here, hopelessly, while the outside world becomes filled with the souls of the past living, our friends, family, ponies we loved and cared for!" Twilight snapped.

"Ah don't know how many times we need to say it, Twi, forget it and move along!" Applejack stated

"No, Applejack! I will not accept it and just move along. You keep saying move along, and yet instead of doing that, you've all gathered in a cave and not moving and what's worse is that you don't care! Before whatever happened last night, the days before. Somepony would die, and we would hold hoofs and stick together, and get passed it together. They would die, be put on the list of the dead and we would prepare a ceremony for their passing, yeah they're dead, but we would still respect them." Twilight explained.

"I know, Twilight, but this is all of Equestria!" Rarity pointed.

"And because it's all of Equestria, you're just giving up? When something threatened Equestria, we, together would use the elements of harmony to defeat the threat. We would unite as friends to save our beloved home, our world. So you're just giving up because it's already happened? Because it's over? How do we know it's over? It could in fact get worse! When Nightmare Moon took over Equestria to make the night last forever. Celestia disappeared, that allowed Nightmare Moon to take over completely. It was over! But then, Princess Celestia came back and defeated her, and that proves that, just because it's over, doesn't mean it can't get better. I suggest you all get out of your foul, depressing moods and help save Equestria from it's hellish future! Who's with me!?" Twilight asked.

Everypony thought for a moment. Then Rarity. Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy all raised their hoofs in the air, willing to help.

"Right, good, well first off, before we do anything, I think we should refer to what I said about respecting the dead. I think we should go back into Ponyville and make a list, like a book, a book of the dead, write every ponies name inside it as honour of their deaths and bury it in the ruins of Ponyville town hall, it's the least we can do for them." Twilight suggested.

Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy left the dark, cramped, uncomfortable cave in the middle of the everfree forest to go identify the dead and give them the respect they deserve. As soon as they reached Ponyville, everypony seemed a bit more happier and their was less depression surrounding their group of friends thanks to Twilight. Twilight took command and started giving orders to everypony to make the job easier and quicker.

"Right everypony, the effects of today has sadly effected us all. But just because they're dead, doesn't mean they're gone. Now, I'm going to go back into my library and give each of you a quill and some paper to write down the names of the dead." Twilight walked back into her library to get some paper and some quills, she soon returned to her friends. She handed them all a quill and a few pieces of paper each. "We shall split Ponyville into six sections to make this quicker." She pointed to everypony to where each of her friends needed to go. "Does everypony know where to go now? Good. See you girls soon." Twilight smiled.

With in an hour, everypony had returned with pieces of paper filled top to bottom of names of the deceased. "Brilliant, thank you girls, hand me your paper and I shall go turn this into a book." Twilight smiled. She went into the library and stuck the pieces of paper together with glue to make it resemble a book. She returned to the girls holding the book of the dead and a shovel. "Come on, girls lets get to town hall and bury this under the floor!" Twilight suggested.

When the arrived at town hall, Twilight immediately started digging a hole to but the book in, soon the hole was big enough for the book to fit and was ready to be put in. "Before we bury this book, I would like to read out the names." Twilight said. She opened it and started reading out loud.

Book Of The Dead: The Dead Of Ponyville

This book reads the dead of Ponyville, who died during the apocalypse that at the moment when written, had an unknown cause. The dead are as follows:

Spike the dragon, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Zecora, Trixie, The Mayor, Cherilee, Discord, Fancy Pants, Flim, Flam, Cranky the donkey, Matilda the moose, Mr. Cake, Mrs. Cake, Iron Will, FleetFoot, Bulk Biceps, Big Macintosh, Granny Smith, Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, Twist, Snips, Snails, Pipsqueak, Featherweight, Derpy Hooves, Lyra Heartstrings, Bon Bon, Vinyl Scratch, Caramel, Doctor Whooves, Octavia, Berry Punch, Carrot Top, Colgate, Dinky Hooves, Thunderlane, Flitter, Cloudchaser, Rumble, Roseluck, Noteworthy, Redheart, Raindrops, Sparkler, Cloudchaser.

These are the dead they are gone, but because they are gone, they are never forgotten.

Twilight finished reading. She put the book in the hole and started burying it into the ground to be found as an ancient discovery in years to come. "There... That's that." Twilight mumbled.

"I'm glad we did that." Rainbow Dash said calmly.

"What now, Twilight?" Applejack asked.

"Time to find out what happened to Equestria. This is our home and I will not rest until I find out what destroyed it. Yeah, we know who died, but now we need to know what killed them. I have a feeling it had something to do with the eclipse, since that was the event going on when all of this destruction happened. We need a starting point. Maybe Princess Celestia or Princess Luna know what happened, I think we should go to Canterlot, see if they know." Twilight suggested.

"What makes you think they survived?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"They're immortal, they can't die, if we survived, I'm sure they survived too." Twilight pointed out. "Now, come on, help me gather food and water, it's going to be a long trip over, so we need survival kits, anything we can find to help us survive, we don't need to raise the death count!"
