The Death Of Friendship

Before the ponies was a white Alicorn, lying still, dead on the floor. But Celestia was immortal, how could this have happened?

"I think we need to just realise the obvious. Whatever killed Celestia, an immortal being, also destroyed all of Equestria and murdered everypony! Girls, I don't think we can fight this..." Rarity. said in disappointment.

"Well, I don't know about you, but I'm not giving up, I was loyal and always be loyal." Rainbow Dash shouted.

"Neither am I, I don't care how powerful this thing is, I'm going to find out what this thing is and why it did what it did! Before I moved to Ponyville, Princess Celestia was one of the only few ponies that truly understood me, other than my parents and my brother, I'm not going to let her die without finding out what this thing is, if it's the last thing I do!" Twilight shouted enraged by the truth of what happened to her teacher.

"What do ya suggest we do, Twilight? What can we do?" Applejack asked, she was lost, didn't know what to do next, just like everypony else.

"Honestly, I don't know? Princess Celestia was the only reason I came here, to get some answers of what she thought this was or what to do." Twilight said calmly, looking at the ground as if there wasn't any hope left in the world of so called "Friendship."

"Twilight?" Applejack asked, she though for a moment, thinking what she was going to say to Twilight to give her at least a little hope to convince her to carry on. "You have recently been transformed into an Alicorn, a princess. Equestria has been destroyed with all other princesses dead. When you were transformed into an Alicorn, it wasn't just for Princess Celestia trusting you completely, but it was for your responsibility and leadership. You were crowned an Equestrian leader, everypony became your loyal subjects, now I beg of you, Princess Twilight Sparkle, t o take leadership and responsibility for your own, I ask of you now, to command your remaining loyal subjects, us five, to help find out what happened here and what happened to Princess Celestia, and as your friends, we command you to not give in hope. Together as one, we can overcome this massive problem."

Twilight turned to Applejack, she looked stronger and more confident. "You know what, Applejack? You're right. I'm not giving in. Right, where do we start?" Twilight asked, she started thinking of everything, everything she thought could have caused this. "Ah, I've got it! The key to any investigation is clues, we need to get out there and find some! We'll do the same thing as we did in Ponyville, split Canterlot into six sections." Twilight, followed the same idea as she had for investigating Ponyville, she pointed out to everypony where they needed to go. "And with all sections covered, we should have investigated the whole city in no time. Listen everypony, check everything, break into shops and houses, find everything! On and Pinkie Pie?!" Twilight looked at Pinkie.

"Uh... Yeah Twilight?" Pinkie Pie replied, nervously.

"I can read you like a book, I know what you were thinking when I said break into shops and houses. Due to the circumstances, I want to make this clear. We cant go dilly dallying around, what we're doing is serious. Pinkie Pie. No. Stealing. Cakes. From. The. Shops! You can go in there, but to find clues, not confessionary." Twilight made it very clear, digging the memory of herself taking about not stealing the cakes.

I... I don't think I could do it! How can somepony not go by a cake store and not eat a cake. Who cares if it's the end of the world as we know it, there is CAKES! Pinkie Pie thought to herself, she mind was screaming.

"Everypony ready? Good! See you girls soon!" Twilight waved the rest of her friends off before they entered the dead, deserted city.

Meanwhile, up in the sky of the dead world, evil was brewing, invisible to the unfortunate survivors who had to see their dead world like what it had been reduced to. If you looked up into the sky at the same moment the ponies split up to investigate the city, you would be able to tell something was up, the sky was glowing dark blue. Little did the ponies know that on the other side of the dark blue sky, somepony was looking down on them, following their every move.

"Princess! The ponies of the legendary elements of harmony are moving again, once again investigating." the strange black coated pony hissed.

"Good job! Keep an eye on them, but I wouldn't worry to much, I wanted them to survive this, and mot only that, everything is nicely falling into place!" Their princess smiled followed with an evil laugh!"

Meanwhile, back on earth, everypony has searched everywhere, and nopony had found anything.

"Did anypony find anything?" Twilight asked, nervously, she was eager to know what they've found that could have a chance of helping them.

"No, nothing." Rainbow Dash replied. Fluttershy walked over to the balcony of Canterlot castle in disappointment, thinking that their trail had come to an end, until she looked up. There was no dark blue sky, that had suddenly disappeared, but it was something else she noticed.

Fluttershy ran back to the others, she couldn't believe, what she had noticed and could help them find out more, much, much more! "Twilight, I think I may have found something!" Fluttershy screamed in excitement.

"Well? What is it?" Twilight asked.

"Well, have you noticed that when we all woke up this morning to find out what happened to Equestria, dead and lifeless. Did you notice it was still night? And that it's now twelve hours later and it's still night?" Fluttershy asked.

"No, I didn't, good job, Fluttershy!" Twilight smiled.

"No, no! There's more! Also, did you notice that the moon has a pony in it, once again, like a mark, looking exactly like the legend of the mare in the moon?! And, did you notice that none of us have found Princess Luna's body?!" Fluttershy took a breath from long explanations.

"Oh, Dear Celestia! You're not suggesting that it was Princess Luna?!" Twilight screamed in worry.

"No, but what if Luna changed again? Because this is what Luna wanted to do one thousand years ago, and that her symbol is in the moon, once again, I'm suggesting it was the mare in the moon!" Fluttershy explained.

"Nightmare Moon!" Twilight gasped in fear!
