The Death Of Friendship

Nightmare Moon started mocking the ponies with an evil laugh. "Muhaha! I love the bravery of you six, but did you know that even with your bravery, you can't win all the time. Especially with me!" Nightmare Moon laughed.

"All the evil ones say that and most of them always fail. What makes you so different?" Rainbow Dash giggled.

"Because I am Nightmare Moon! I have already taken over Equestria once before." Nightmare Moon replied.

"Until Princess Celestia stopped you..." Applejack interrupted.

"And Celestia is dead!" Nightmare Moon smiled.

"We stopped you with the elements of harmony!" Twilight pointed out.

"Which you don't have with you, so you can't stop me, can you?" Nightmare Moon laughed.

"No, but we can escape from you!" Twilight shouted. Twilight's horn glowed with sparkling magic. It surrounded the rest of her friends ad suddenly the vanished right in front of Nightmare Moons eyes. It was a teleportation spell. Twilight and her friends landed outside the portal of where the entered. Rainbow Dash was the first to stand back up and address Twilight.

"So what now? We run away? Why did you teleport us?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"A few reasons. One, she said we couldn't stop her. Two, we teleported because we are going to get something that will defiantly help us stop her." Twilight replied.

"What? So I'm guessing that we go retrieve the elements of harmony?" Rarity asked.

"Precisely. And not only that, but I read about the elements of harmony when we first got hold of their power. I know what they can do, they can reverse time. We can bring Equestria back with them, but it's just a theory, reverse time has never been used with the elements of harmony before, so at the current moment, it's just a theory." Twilight replied.

"So how do we know it'll work?" Pinkie Pie asked.

"I don't but we do know that it works on nightmare moon, and that's the main thing, avenging Equestria is the main thing." Twilight replied.

"Good point!" Applejack said. "I suggest that we get a move on!"

Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Applejack ran to the tallest tower in Canterlot castle where the elements of harmony were hidden. Twilight was worried, she had a feeling that Nightmare Moon would of sent some of her followers to kill them once they got to the tower and only one of them needed to die for the elements of harmony to fail because they didn't have enough keepers. Twilight, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Applejack reached the tower. Twilight turned to the rest of her friends.

"Girls, I have the slightest feeling that Nightmare Moon has sent her followers into the tower to kill us and stop us. I would like to point out that this needs to be team work, because as you all know, there needs to be six element keepers for the power of the elements of harmony to work, that means if just one of us fail, then the rest of us fail, we need to stick together on this!" Twilight explained. Twilight opened the door with her magic, they saw something surprising, nothing but an empty room. I don't get it. I was sure that Nightmare Moon would send reinforcements to stop them, I wonder why not... Twilight thought to herself.

Twilight slowly walked in the tower, she was still very suspicious of why no pony was there to stop here, after all, the elements would bring her doom. Twilight just decided to go along with it, she couldn't be bothered to deal with all the commotion anyway. Twilight grabbed the elements of harmony, she passed them around to their individual keepers, then ran back towards the portal.

When they reached the portal to the dream vortex, they waisted no time at all, they jumped through the portal with the elements of harmony, curtain to defeat Nightmare Moon, but not sure if the could restore Equestria once and for all.

"Nightmare Moon! Show yourself!" Twilight screamed, making sure she heard her inside the spinning vortex. Suddenly a blueish black figure appeared right in front of them. "Hello, "Princess Twilight Sparkle!" Nightmare Moon laughed as she mocked Twilight of her powers.

"Ready for your doom, we know these work on you, so you can't win." Rainbow Dash said seriously. Rainbow Dash being serious for once? Wow!

"I know I can't win, but I will still win." Nightmare Moon replied.

"How can we not win?" Twilight asked curiously.

"Yes, you will kill me, but you won't be able to restore Equestria!" Nightmare Moon laughed. "Since I'm going to win anyway, just do it, kill me."

"Ready girls?" Twilight asked. "Excellent!"

The six keepers activated their elements. Nightmare Moon suddenly screamed in huge amounts of agony, a white glow from the outline of her body, and then nothing, she was dead. I can't believe it, it was that easy! Twilight thought to herself. She turned to her friends. "Girls! Remember, the elements are telepathic, all we need to do is think of Equestria to bring it back!" Everypony thought of Equestria, all of the best things. But some were in doubt of the elements from what Nightmare Moon said, they wouldn't work. Suddenly, there was a bang and nothing happened for a few hours, the dream vortex collapsed, the ponies were teleported back to the throne room while they were passed out. A few hours later, they woke up.

"D-Did it work? Did we save Equestria?" Rainbow Dash asked.

Twilight got up and looked outside to see the same dead world. "No, we didn't...." Twilight said depressingly. "We've failed..."

The rest of the ponies got up. "So what now?" Fluttershy asked.

Twilight put her element of harmony back on top of her head. "Well, there's no point in living in a dead world, it would be toucher to see a reminder of what it used to be everyday. We may as well be in peace once and for all..." She pointed her element at Fluttershy, and fired some kind of powerful bolt of energy, she wasn't there after that, Twilight had disintegrated her, dead.

"Why did you do that?" Applejack screamed with a tear in her eye. "She was our friend!"

"I told you, because there is no point in living in aw world that is going to cause us pain everyday..." Twilight replied. She pointed the element at Applejack and done the same. Then Rainbow Dash, then Pinkie Pie and then Rarity. It was for their own good, it's better than them suffering. Twilight thought to herself. And now for myself. Twilight used her element to destroy herself, with one though left to say. I had a good life until this disaster. I couldn't save Equestria and everypony else, but I saved the survivors from a living hell. Goodbye world and goodbye life, turns out being one of Celestia's students was the death of me, it would of been better being just Twilight Sparkle. After that thought of regrets, there was nothing. Even after death, Nightmare Moon had won. Pony kind was no more. The end for everything.
