Missing Darkness
Strange Awakening
Previous ChapterStar Stream slowly opened his eyes, quickly covering them as the afternoon sun shone through the window. He groaned as he felt the intense pounding in his head make itself know. Great, he thought. I'm having a hangover. He had had these before in his younger days, but none had been this bad.
He slowly sat up, immediately regretting the action as the waves of soreness hit him like a frieght train. He groaned even louder than before, which was followed by a series of whimpers. It'd be a while before he'd be able to get out of bed.
Suddenly, he heard hoofsteps approaching his room. He was sure that nopony had followed him home. Come to thnk of it, he didn't remember most of last night, other than the bat-pony mare try to get him in bed. Everything else was just a big, confusiing blur.
The hoofsteps finally came to a stop in front of the door and an audible 'click' was heard as the door handle was turned. The door creaked a little as it slowly opened to reveal the silhouette of a winged pony against the sunlight in the room behind. "Are you alright?" A strange, but gentle voice asked. "I heard your groaning and whimpering, so I came to check on you." The pony slowly closed the distance between the door and the bed.
There, before the Star Stream's bed, stood a yound bat-pony mare. Her coat was a soft shade of purple, which glimmed in the sunlight. Her mane and tail shared a darker shade of violet that complimented the rest of her body and her amethyst lightning bolt cutie mark perfectly. Her wings were the same color as her coat, but held the muscle tone of a palace guard. The main thing that caught Star Stream's attention was her deep, violet slitted eyes. The just looked as it mixed between the perfect shade of amethyst and purple to make her magnificent pools of violet. This was one stunning mare.
After a few moments, the mare waved a hoof infront of the dazed stallions eyes to get his attention. "Hello?" She said as he suddenly shook himself out of his daze. She noted at how messy and unkempt he looked. He definitely take a shower. "Are you okay or not? Also, you need a shower, like badly." She said with a light giggle.
Star Stream's eyes widened as the realization hit him. How the buck did she get here!? Did we do things that I don't remember? Did we fall in love and get married in a very drunken, inaccurate way? All these questions rushed to his mind as he began to panic. The mare in front of his noticed his expression and went to his side.
"Hey, Hey. Take it easy, chief. Nothing happened between you and me last night, I promise. You just fainted from how drunk you were and I brought you home. I swear to Celetsia that nothing happened." She put up her right hoof to signal her swearm which made Star Stream relax and sigh in relief. The mare just smiled and giggled at that. "I'm Violet Bolt, by the way. We didn't get a chance to introduce ourselves last night, so nice to meet you-?" Violet extended her hoof for the stallion to shake it.
"Star Stream." He said in a hoarse voice as he shook her hoof firm, but lightly. They both smiled at each other for a moment. "Thanks for bringing me home last night. I probably would still be lying there if it wasn't for you helping me." He chuckled nervously at that sudden thought.
"Don't mention it. I've had my fair share of hangovers, so I know how it feels. I just couldn't leave a defenseless, drunk stallion alone to only get worse or end up in the Canterlot hospital." She said as they both shareed a heart-felt chuckle. "Anyway, I fixed you some breakfast and something to help get over the hangover. They're sitting near the kitchen sink. I have to go now, but feel free to visit my house." She quickly pulled out a little piece of paper and wrote her address down on it, then slipped it under the lamp beside his alarmclock. "Cathc ya later, Stream!" She said with a wink as she trotte out the door, pulling it shut behind her.
Star Stream smiled until he heard the shutting of his front door, which, for some reason, made his smile faulter. He grabbed the small slip of paper from under the lamp and examined it, '#524, Trotston Ave., Neighton." He smiled as he read over the address again to make sure he had read it right. it was only a few blocks away from here. He'd have to properly make it up to her, by treating her to dinner, but that was a job for another day. Now had had a breakfast to eat and a hangover to get rid of.
