The Princess and the Star Gazer.

Chapter 1: Stargazing

     Comet Tail is sitting on a hill about half a mile outside of Ponyville. This certain spot is a good spot for stargazing. Comet is a yellow coated unicorn with a bit of grayish blue mane and tail and eyes. And his cutie mark is a comet like image with a star at the end. He was busy admiring the night sky until he hears what sounds like two voices. He quickly looks around him until he sees two figures in the distance. At first he doesn't recognize them so he decided too get closer.

     When he gets close he immediately recognize them: Spike the little dragon assistant and Princess Twilight Sparkle.  He then finds himself admiring her from afar. For the past few years when she first moved in he steadily grew too admire her. Then that admiration turned into a crush. At first he thought he had a chance, until she became a princess it then became a dream too him. Because now she seems too be out of reach since he sees himself as a simple common pony.

     Before he can do anything he can't help but eavesdrop on them. The first one too speak he sees is Spike "Twilight I thought we were out here to look at the night skies."

     "Spike, we are out here too see if Luna changes the night sky every now and again."

     "And this started about last winter if I remember."

     "Indeed Spike. Though for some time now I never thought of it. Until last winter."

     Spike gave out a long sigh and says "Alright. Though do we really need too bring all these books?"

     "Of course Spike. Some of those books has pictures of the night sky for the last many years."

     Comet then smiles at him remember that he read all the same books. And he knows some things about the night sky. When he thought of this he realized that he might have something in common with her. He then smiles and skips away back towards Ponyville thinking he might have a shot too go out with Twilight. Though he knows it will be a while before he confesses his feelings too her.

Two months later

     Comet Tail is walking down the streets of Ponyville heading towards the library too return a book he has gotten from there. He has been going there every week for the past two months. Though on the outside he may be interested in the books he's getting. Though too him he is in fact going there too try to build up the courage to talk too Twilight. Though he may not have the courage too talk to her he at least get different books. Like books on stars, even a Daring Do book that has her on a adventure where clues are in the stars.

     When he finally arrive at the library he knocks on the front door. When it opened up he sees Spike was the one that opened it.

     "Hey Twilight, it's Comet Tail." Shouted Spike towards the inside

     "Oh is it that time. Let him in." Said an angelic voice that Comet recognize all too well.  He then walks inside and inside sitting at the center table is Twilight and a white unicorn mare whom he knows is Rarity. A beautiful mare but not as beautiful as Twilight.

     "Hello Twilight. I'm here too return a book I borrowed last week." Said Comet

     "Alright Comet. Just place it on the desk." Replied Twilight

     He then walks towards the desk while overhearing both mares talking.

     "So Twilight, how was that trip too Canterlot last week?"

     Twilight thinks for a bit and replied "Well it was fine. Celestia is still doing well. And Luna is fine and my family is still happy as always."

     Rarity gets a concerned look hearing Twilights answer sounded like she wasn't excited and says "Darling, is something the matter?"

     "Well it's that, one day I thought Blueblood was acting strange."

     Rarity after hearing that name gets a disgruntled look and says "Don't worry about that snob. He probably was acting like the idiot he is."

     "Your probably right Rarity."

     Comet Tail after hearing this remembers that week. He was a bit worried that she had a coltfriend in Canterlot. Though after she returned he later learned from his friend Blue that she was there visiting her family. He was then glad and happy too hear this that he rented a couple more books from the library. He then drops off the book and rents another book whom Spike helped him with while Twilight and Rarity continued talking. He then gotten the book and leaves feeling that wasn't the right time.

     After Comet left Rarity then says "So that stallion that comes in, how often does he arrive?"

     "You mean Comet, he comes by once a week to get a book."

     Rarity then smiled and says "Oh, I saw him looking towards us, or more at you."

     "What do you mean? He just comes in and rents a book for the past two months."

     Rarity then shakes her head at her comment and replies "Twilight, he seems like a nice colt. And besides if I remember we aren't getting younger. And I think it's about time you get a stallion for yourself."

     "Come on Rarity, I work a lot. I don't think I have time for romance."

     "Alright. If you insist."

     Both of them then continued talking about other subjects besides love and colts.

     Comet Tail on the other hoof was mentally hitting himself. "Stupid me! Another day missed."

     He then goes into the park and sits down on a bench and pulls out the book and starts too read it. Though he is also again trying too think of a way too talk to Twilight. Quietly he then starts to talk too himself. "Maybe I should talk to Rarity. Though that might never work. Though she could help."

     He then shrugs his shoulders and continued reading his book.
