The Princess and the Star Gazer.

Chapter 2: Courage

     Two weeks went by and Comet still hasn't talked too Twilight about anything other then the books he was getting. And everytime he gets back home he finds himself face planting onto the desk. After he banged his head and received a headache he went back too his books he gotten and went in front a mirror in his bathroom trying too psych himself up.

     "Come on Comet, how hard is it to talk too a mare."

     He looks at his reflection expecting an answer until he shakes his head and says "Come on Comet. Let's just go."

     He then picked up the books in a gold aura and started walking out the door and towards the library. When he comes up towards the library he noticed a sign on the door. When he comes up too it it reads:

Sorry. The library is closed for today because of an emergency.

     Comet is at first confused because usually Twilight gives a reason why she closes the library. He then shrugged his shoulders and put the book in a slot where he knows where ponies can return any books they have. After he is done he then turned around and walked back down the street towards his home wondering where Twilight is today.

     After he left and goes on some errands he fails too notice a pony coming right at him until

     "BUMP"

     "Ouch!"

     Comet then rubs his head and says turning hugs head towards the pony "Sorry, I didn't see you there."

     When he sees whom he bumped into his jaw dropped and sees he bumped into Twilight.

     "Twilight! Ah I uh sorry."

     Twilight giggled and says "That's alright Comet. Though it was also my fault since I wasn't looking myself."

     Both continued trading apologies until they stooped and both started giggling. "Well too make it up too you, how about we go for a drink?" Asked Comet

     "Well, guess I could. Even though I don't have anything now and I gotten back." Replied Twilight

     "Great! I know a good place."

     So then Comet helped Twilight up and walked towards a small cafe. They started too talk until Comet realized "I think I'm finally taking Twilight out for a date! If you can call it that. Who cares, thank you Celestia."

     Comet and Twilight are seen sitting at a table talking and laughing.

     "Wow, you and your friends sure have interesting lives." Said Comet

     "Yep. Though lately things are quite and slow that the trouble seems too have died down." Replied Twilight

     Comet then takes a sip from his drink and says "So what were you doing at Canterlot? Some business with the Princess?"

     "Something like that. Though it was just a small matter on the drought in Appleloosa."

     "Wow, that sounds serious."

     "Actually it was simple too do. Seems like Fancy Pants helped a little since he commissioned a blimp that's going to carry gallons of water too the town."

     Comet then suddenly grew interested and impressed "Wow, he seems to be very popular."

     "Guess you could say that." Said Twilight "He sure is the only pony in Canterlot that's concerned with what's going on outside of the city."

     Comet continues listening too Twilight until she takes a sip of her drink again and he says "So Twilight, just curious what's your plans for tomorrow?"

     Twilight suddenly gagged on her drink until she takes a breather and says "Well uh Comet, I uh..."

     "Oh just say yes!"

     Both Twilight and Comet jumped at the voice and turned towards it and sees Rarity standing nearby.

     "Rarity! What are you doing here?" asked Twilight

     "Oh I come here three times a week. Until I saw you two here and I was curious at what you two are doing here."

     "Well me and Comet are just here having a drink."

     Rarity suddenly gets a close smiling at Twilight "Oh really? Well then I guess this is like a date."

     "What!?" Both Twilight and Comet said

     "Well, seems like I'm right." She then suddenly gasped and says excitedly "We must get you ready for tomorrow night!"

     "But Rarity! I hadn't agreed too it."

     Rarity then looks at Comet and sees he had a disappointed look on his face until Twilight says "Well, then again I guess I can spend time with him."

     Rarity then did an imitation of a fan filly and says "Well then best get you ready! Though what are you going too do with her on this date Comet?"

     Comet then noticed both of them are looking at him and he stutters out "Well I was thinking of a moonlit picnic under the stars." "At the hill where I first fell for her."

     Rarity the swooned and says "That sounds so romantic." She then turns at Twilight and says "Well now best get you ready Twilight."

     She then grabs Twilight and pulls her towards the Boutique leaving Comet alone watching the two mares smiling that he is going too get the chance too be with Twilight. Even though she is a Princess and he is a simple pony. He then did a hop, skip and a jump at his table though he stopped when he sees some ponies looking at him. He then blushed and payed for the drinks and went home happily whistling along the way.

     The next day in the afternoon about an hour before the dun sets. Comet was going through the things he needed for the date. "Okay, basket check, sandwiches check, cider check, clear weather check, blanket check, rose check." He looks at the mirror at hugs reflection and says "All cleaned up and a bow tie ready and mane combed down."  He then picks up the basket and walks out of his home and towards the library.

     About thirty minutes later he finally arrives and holds the basket and pulls out the rose with his magic and knocks on the door.  He didn't have too wait long when the door opens and hugs jaw drops and he can't help but stare at the mare in front of him. Twilight has her mane braided and her eyelashes seem too flow gently from her eyes.

     "Well, hello Comet." Twilight said blushing a little

     Comet then finally shakes his head and hoofs over the rose saying "Wow Twilight, you are beautiful this evening."

     Twilights blush goes deeper and says "Thank you Comet." She then takes the rose and steps out the door as she is smelling it. Both of then then head on out and unknown too then five pair of eyes are watching them.

     "Rarity, why do you want too follow them?" Asked Applejack

     "Yea, I don't do much with this love stuff. I could be napping." Said Rainbow Dash

     "I can't wait too throw them a party!" Said an excited Pinkie Pie

     "Well if they want too I'm sure they will tell us about it." Replied Fluttershy

     "Come on girls," said Rarity "Aren't you curious on how it goes?"

     "Nope. Though even if I am we should respect their privacy." Said Applejack

     And the five of them continued talking about it unaware they lost the two of them. Both of which are heading outside of Ponyville.
