Applejack knocked on the door to Golden Oaks Library, waiting expectantly for a purple unicorn to answer the door.

Surely enough, the door opened and there stood the pony in question.

"Hello, Applejack. What are you doing here?" Twilight asked, smiling genuinely.

Applejack straightened her hat with her hoof before saying, "I'm here t' pick ya up for our date, remember?"

Applejack watched as Twilight's eyes widened in realization, "That was today?! Oh my gosh, Applejack. I'm so sorry, I totally forgot!" Twilight grinned nervously. "Would you excuse me for a moment?" with that, she took off inside the library and up the wooden staircase into her bedroom.

Twilight used her magic to open up her dresser drawer, and began rapidly searching for something to wear.

"Too frilly," she said, throwing a dress over her shoulder with her magic. "Too causal," said Twilight, throwing a plaid shirt over her shoulder.

"Ah-ha!" she said, holding up the small yellow dress that Rarity had made her on her birthday almost three years ago.

She quickly used the spell that Rarity had taught her a few months ago that put clothes onto ponies without struggle, then rushed out of her bedroom back to the doorway, where Applejack was waiting.

Twilight took a moment to catch her breath, "So.. Applejack.. Where.. Are we... Going.. Too... Eat.. At?"

Applejack grinned, "I was thinkin' we could eat at Sugarcube Corner."

Twilight raised an eyebrow at her date, "And eat only sugar for dinner?"

Applejack leaned in to nuzzle Twilight, "If ya' get tierd of sweets, then we can go back 't Sweet Apple Acres and eat sandwiches." Applejack smiled, and Twilight smiled back at her.

"That's better," she said, wrapping a wing around Applejack.
