the equestrian adventures of John Smith
Well this has been an interesting morning thought John Smith as he tried to bring his haunches to the too small chair. He sat in a small chariot that was being pulled along by four pegasi. They were on the way to Canterlot castle to meet the princesses.
He had started off his day like any other. He woke up before any sane person would ever think necessary, also known as the time that was needed to get to high school on time. He rolled out of bed and landed on the ground of his bedroom with a loud thump. He groaned inwardly at his predicament, he had to get to school and not be bored out of his mind.
John got up and got dressed he wore a T- shirt, jacket, and jeans. He went downstairs and at the last step jumped down. He then landed back in front of his room.
“Wha-, HOW DID I GET HERE?!” shouted an outraged John. “My staircase doesn't even end in a door!”
John turned around and walked down the staircase slowly again. This time when he reached the end he walked on as if nothing was wrong. Puzzled he continued on to the kitchen. when he passed a window he saw it was the dead of night as it should be. When he passed the next window it was midday. Determined to ignore this John kept on to the kitchen.
He walked into the kitchen. we took one step cautiously into the room and slowly crept toward the fridge. He took a step on the tiled floor-
“Wait. Why is the floor tiled. And why is it pink and yellow.” asked John out loud
Once again he ignored this and continued on his way to the fridge determined that this was a dream. when he reached for the handle of the large white fridge it suddenly vanished in a puff of smoke.
“Oh come on!” John said “I just want some food!”
As soon as he had spoken two fruits appeared on the floor. One was blue and the other was red. In front of them was a note. John cautiously walked over to it read the note
John,
These two fruits can lead you to very different places. The blue apple will take you back to your bedroom where this will be nothing but a bad dream. The red will bring you to equestria.
John lunged for the red apple and as soon as he grabbed it it turned back into the note. Confused he looked back to it now
you can not touch either fruit until you have read the letter. You see i knew you would go for it right then.
If you take the blue fruit you will get to see your family and live a normal life, happy and content.
the red fruit will take you to equestria just maybe not the one you were expecting. You won’t get to see any of your friends or family ever again.

John picked up both apples and looked at them. He thought for a while which one he should take. He did want to take a large bite out of the red apple, but at the same time he did want to be happy.
“Hold onto your butt’s” John said “this is going to be one hell of a ride” with that he sunk his teeth into the red apple.

a warm welcome on Ponyville
John awoke suddenly. He was on an empty hill overlooking ponyville. It was daytime at about mid-noon and he could see the small and indistinct shapes of the ponies moving about in the town from where he laid on the ground.
John slowly started to stand only to find that his center of gravity was completely off center. He made it half way up before falling back down onto the ground. John looked himself over and saw that he had two large black wings on his back.
“Oh my god. I’m a pegasus!” John exclaimed
He reexamined his body. He was a large black pony with a close cropped green mane and tail, both of which had tinges of black in them. He felt the strange new appendages of his tail and wings and gave them a flex and a flick.The tail refused to move and he managed to move his wings a small amount.
“Ah damn.” John said “looks like i'm walking for now.”
He looked over himself one more time and saw that he had a radioactive symbol for a cutie mark that appeared on both sides of his body. John impulsively reached up and scratched his head still laying belly down in the grassy hill. His hoof stopped in the middle of his forehead and he tried to focus his eyes upward to see what the problem was. There sitting in the middle of his forehead was a long slightly curved horn that was black like his coat.
“I'M AN ALICORN!” John shouted.
John tried to get up by placing his hind legs up first and pushing but couldn’t quite get the hang of it and quickly fell back down onto the ground. He tried again placing all four of his legs hoof down on the ground and pushed with all of his legs. He managed to get up this time.
“Oh yeah!” John said
He confidently started to walk forward and fell again almost immediately. He couldn’t quite get the rhythm down. He did his four hoof method of standing and managed to stand once more. He took a tentative step forward like he had seen the other ponies in the show do and then brought the opposite back leg with the front one after the front leg had touched down.
“Ok” said John “So I can stand and I can walk. Cool.”
John slowly started his long walk toward town. As he approached the edge of town he saw some ponies homes and others going about their daily business. The town was designed to have two main roads that intersected and met in the town center where there was a farmers market of sorts going on with all different sorts of ponies selling different food. John was hungry and started to make his way toward the market noticing other details about the town.
Ponyville, for it was Ponyville, was much smaller than he had thought it would be. there were homes and other businesses along the main roads and more homes along other back roads that connected to the main ones. From where he walked he could see the distinct shapes of the library, Rarity's fashion boutique, and the city hall.
As he approached town a group of ponies saw him and ran away. This kind of ticked John off seeing as Ponyville was supposed to be this nice little town where everyone was nice to each other. It was not supposed to be a town where everyone ran away from strangers.
John continued farther into town on the main road. When he reached the edge of the buildings all the ponies had run indoors, shut the windows, and presumably locked the doors. He continued into town square where the vendors were hiding by their carts, not wanting to leave them undefended yet not wanting to stand out in the open. John walked over to the trademark apple cart that was in town square.
“Uhh hello?” John asked the pony behind the cart “Can I get some help.”
An orange pony with a blonde mane peeked out from around the cart. John quickly recognized her as Applejack.
“W-Well what do you need Mr. alicorn sir?” she asked timidly
Oh crap! John thought to himself I’m an alicorn, that’s right. Shit she’s waiting for me to say something. Uhhh play dumb!
“Well that depends on what you mean by alicorn.” John said feigning ignorance.
“Well you have wings and a horn…” the orange pony said as though that would explain everything. She took a cautious step out from behind the cart.
“And that shows what exactly?” John said while thinking
“That you have both wings and a horn means you are and alicorn.” She said as though this would explain everything any better.
“Soooo does that mean that everypony will slam their doors in your face the second you walk into town?” John asked sarcastically
The orange pony looked alarmed as though she thought the action offend him.
“No! Oh course not! Well we don't get many alicorns around here. Not that we never see any! It’s just that there are only two that are known about in the entire universe.” she blundered (A.N. : Can you believe blundered is an actual word? Seriously google it. Now try to explain why you have searched the word blundered to anyone who is looking at your web history. Now wonder why someone is going through your web history. Now you are thinking about them finding this page and reading this rather long author's note. Now who ever you are who’s searching this persons browser history stop it.)
John watched her blunder through her sentence and tried to resist laughing but a smile still crept its way across his face. As John watched a large blush spread across her face.
“Well then.” John said
“Uhh yeah.” she replied
They stood there awkwardly for an uncomfortable amount of time before one of the doors opened and a blue blur whizzed up in between John and Applejack.
“And what do you think you're doing buddy!” the blue pony said accusingly. The pony John realized as Rainbow Dash from his years of bronydom. He looked in awe at the pony in front of him.
“Dash! Stand down girl.” Apple jack said
“This guy giving you trouble AJ?” she asked
“Uhh Dash you might want to reevaluate our towns new visitor.” she tried to whisper to Dash.
“Yeah I don-” Dash stopped talking when she saw the wings and the horn.
“He’s a….” Dash trailed off
“Eeyup.” Applejack said mimicking her brother
“A…..?” John said
“An alicorn” said a new pony that walked out of the door Rainbow had just come from. She was small compared to John just like the other ponies. She was purple with a purple mane that had a streak of light purple and one of dark purple.
“The real question is where you came from.” She said as she walked over.
“That is a good question that I would like the answer to.” John said turning to face the new pony. John recognized her as Twilight Sparkle as she continued to walk over to him.
“It’s not every day that we get an alicorn that strolls into town.” Twilight said
“It’s not every day that ya get teleported off of you planet and into a new body.” John rebuked
“What?!” Applejack said
Rainbow looked at John with wide eyes and a slack jaw.
“Well… that is different.” Twilight said “How did you get here?”
“Didn’t I say I didn’t know that much.” John lied
“OOOHHHH! NEW PONY!” came a shout from down the road.
John looked down the road to see a pink blur racing toward him. John didn’t have time to think as a pink pony climbed up his side and sat on his back. The pony started to experimentally play with his wings, unfolding and folding them.
“Ooooo! You have BIG wings. You must be a fast flyer. Are you a fast flyer? I think that you would be and- OOOO YOU HAVE A HORN TOO! You must be an alicorn, ya know because of the wings and the horn that makes you an alicorn.” the pink pony started to bounce on his back. “Do you know Princess Celestia and Princess Luna? Are you new to town. If you are new to town then you probably don't know Princess Celestia and Princess Luna and- mmhmhmmmhmhm” the pink pony was silenced by Twilight as she muted the pink one with her magic.
“Alright Pinkey that’s enough.” Twilight said as she lifted the still bouncing pony off of John’s back.
“Well I see that her parents were rather creative.” John said
“She did grow up on a rock quarry.” Applejack said offhandedly
“And what is that supposed to mean missy!” Pinkey said as Twilight let go of the spell.
“Nothing” Applejack said
Pinkey got in Applejacks face and narrowed her eyes. “I'm watching you” she said to the orange pony.
“Girls! We should get him to talk to Celestia. Maybe she can clear some of this up.” Twilight said. “Spike! Come here please.”
a smallish purple and green dragon walked out of the building that the others had come from. he walked nervously and quickly going to stand by Twilight.
“Yeah Twi?” he said
“Spike please send a letter to the Princess.” Twilight said
One hour later John sat in a chariot with Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie pie, Spike, and two new ponies one called rarity that was white with a purple mane and was a unicorn and the other was a small timid yellow pegasus with a pink mane. Rainbow Dash was flying along outside of the cart .
“Should I be worried?” John asked
“No, I don’t think so.” Twilight said “Not unless you have something to hide.”
John looked away from her guiltily as he got his first view of Canterlot.
