Epilogue

Previous Chapter

A full year after Twilight gave birth:

It had been a long and absolutely hellish year for Twilight and Arkantos. Their two foals, Inferno, a small colt, though he was just as fiery as his name gave off, several times he nearly destroyed their home with his bursts of magic. Arkantos was the only one able to truly stop the blazes their son created.

The other a filly named Whisper was even worse though, she was quiet and mild mannered most of the time. But when she wanted anything she’d let EVERYPONY in a three mile radius know. Her magic was hard to detect, somehow able to create small runes naturally, there’d be accidental traps set up all over her room and crib, anypony unlucky enough to set them off would be teleported somewhere completely different (duh)… The hired foalsitter became quite intimate with the Crystal Empire before she quit. Now, Cadance and Shining had a room set up for whomever got teleported to the Crystal Empire.

From where it always teleported them, The Crystal Empire, Canterlot, and sometimes to wherever Twilight was, it appeared that her teleportation magics honed in on alicorns.

Twilight had begun to postulate that Whisper was developing more ‘human’ magics, while Inferno was more of a pony in his magical skill. They also provided great research for their mother (though it was only visual as she outright refused to let any harm come to them). As Celestia and Luna provided no help with alicorn foals, the two first time parents were nearly on their own. Had it not been for Cadance’s helpful hand (she desired to learn as much as possible about alicorn foals in preparation for her own foal when she decided to have one), and Twilight Velvet’s own experience, they were able to survive.

Now, one year in the foals appeared to be magically calming down, explosions and bonfires weren’t any everyday occurrence. Nor were random teleportations, and they were finally able to cool off.

It was the first real time off they had since the birth, and neither was going to squander it. They had gotten Cadance and Shining to watch the foals, and the two had just dropped them off with them. Now they were on their way to a private beach with the other girls for a few days to just relax… it was going to be perfect.

After nearly a full day on the rails, they had finally made it to the resort town nestled near the beach. Ark and Spike were quick to carry everything off, leaving the six best friends plenty of time to have fun before any of their reservations came up.

The six mares were exploring the town, none of them having ever had been here before.

“This is amazing! It’s so beautiful here!” Rarity was in awe.

“Yeah! It’s going to be sooo much fun here!” Pinkie nodded.

“Alright, what are we going to do first? We have an entire week to be here, well… at least Ark and I do.” Twilight sighed.

“Why don’t you just keep in contact with Shining and Cadance? Then you can spend an extra day or two here before going back to Inferno and Whisper?” Fluttershy offered.

“Heh… after Inferno nearly torched Ponyville last week… I bet Cadance is going to have one hell of a time.” Rainbow Dash chuckled.

Everypony stopped around them, hell, not even everypony knew what they were talking about.

“That was a terrible pun.” Rarity stated firmly.

“Since yah ain't gonna be ashamed of yerself, ah guess all of us are gonna be.” Applejack said.

“Whaaat? I thought it was funny!” Dash groaned.

“It was not! The ENTIRE town nearly burned down.” Twilight crossed her arms.

“Yeah, but everypony in town ended up in Canterlot! It was a nice way to drop in wasn’t it?” Dash couldn’t help herself.

Twilight smiled a little. “I guess.”

“I’ll give you that one…” Pinkie laughed.

“Just… please don’t make any more?” Fluttershy asked.

“Don’t worry… I don’t have any more to make.” Dash assured. “Besides, we’re here to have fun, not make terrible jokes, right?”

“Yeah! So let’s go have fun!” Pinkie nodded, her Applejack and Fluttershy running off to go explore together. Rainbow Dash took to the air and began to explore too.

“So, what does Ark have planned for you two tonight?” Rarity asked.

“We’re going out to dinner, and then after… well, he doesn’t really let me too deeply into his plans… he still wants to surprise me, even if it always just end with us making love for most of the night.” Twilight giggled, a small blush coming over her face.

“And that’s a bad thing for you two?” Rarity laughed.

“Never.” Twilight shook her head, “He just wants to impress me, and… well, he can’t anymore.” She sighed, “I already know his best, and… it’s always what he gives me. If I need him, he’s there by my side… if I want him, he’ll sweep me off my feet… he’ll never let me down again.”

“We should have trusted you completely from day one… you two have ended up being so perfect together.” Rarity said.

“But?”

“There is no but about it. You two were meant for each other, and you’ve more than made the lives of everypony around you so much better… I’m sure Ponyville will honestly feel less action packed when your foals grow up, it’ll make everypony a bit sadder.”

“I doubt that…”

“Just go and ask anypony how they feel about your foals… they adore them. We all do.” Rarity hugged Twilight, “Now, why don’t we go join everypony else, we’re burning daylight!” She smiled widely, Twilight smiling back at her.

“Yeah, what are we waiting for?” Twilight grinned, the two mares rushing into the town to explore as much as they could.
