Two hours later:

“I’m sorry I was so distrustful of you earlier.” Shining said after taking another bite out of his food.

“It’s fine… at least you weren’t as protective as I was over my sister.” Ark said, lightly kissing Twilight’s neck before feeding her another bite of food.

“You hav- had a sister?” Twilight asked.

“Yes… her name was Amanra she was named after my peoples Goddess of Beauty.” Ark said.

Twilight placed a hand on Ark’s cheek and pushed her back against his chest.

“As beautiful as my sister was… I have my goddess right here…” Ark whispered, kissing Twilight’s cheek.

“Ark if you don’t mind me asking… where were you before?” Cadence asked.

“I was previously the prince of the Ricanthian Empire.” Ark said.

Shining choked back a little food.

Cadence’s mouth fell open.

“You were a prince…” Shining said in disbelief.

“No… no. I’m an Elementalist. Though I specialize in Pyromancy and Aquamancy.” Ark said.

“Oh… I get it now.” Shining nodded.

“You have seperate magic schools?” Cadence asked.

Ark nodded, “There are a few schools though there is an infinite amount of specializations… I’ll just give the basic schools.” He said.

“Now I know why you called me an Illusionist…” Twilight said.

“You have NO idea.” Twilight said with an exasperated sigh. “Not only does she make a mockery OF magic but she lies about EVERYTHING.”

“Such as…?” Ark asked.

“She said she fought an Ursa Major… she couldn’t even tell the difference between a Minor and a Major…” Twilight said.

“She said she fought a constellation?” Ark questioned.

“No… no an Ursa Major is a really large creature… I’ll show you a few books on the animals that live here a little later.” Twilight said.

“Monsters are nothing new for me… just I hope the gods haven’t cursed your world with chimeras.” Ark said.

“They aren’t all that bad.” Twilight said.

“The one’s you know may not be… but ours are violent… monsters through and through.” Ark said.

“Wow…” Cadence mumbled.

“They’re hard to kill… but most of the monster species are.” Ark said.

“I’m guessing you’re ‘the master’ at killing those monsters.” Shining said.

“No.” Ark said. “I’m no master at killing those beasts. When I did regularly fight them I was just a soldier doing his duty.”

“A soldier…” Shining repeated slowly.

“What kind? If... there are different types of soldiers in your old world.” Cadence asked curiously.

“I was more of a battle mage. It’s a mix between a knight and a sorcerer. So I was trained in marksmanship, swordplay, fencing, riding, and large weapon combat.” Ark said.

“A knight… I like that…” Twilight said. “I know I’m safer with you around then.” She laid her head down against his chest and fell asleep rather quickly.

“She really loves you.” Cadence observed.

“And I really love her.” Ark said as he looked down at Twilight and smiled. He kissed her forehead which caused her to shift around a little.

“I’m a little surprised… out of all the suitors she would have had… she’s chosen someone who isn’t even from Equestria.” Cadence said.

“He’s still better then a lot of them…” Shining said.

“What?” Cadence asked.

“There’s more…” Shining said.

“Sword to sword… or magic to magic. It wasn’t to the death… but someone usually died during the challenge… though I’ve never seen someone die because of something the other person did… just a few overpowered spells that blew up in their faces.” Ark said.

“And if we followed that I doubt anyone would ever get through you.” Cadence chuckled.

Just then Twilight’s phone dinged. She yawned and got it out of her pocket to check it. “Oh… looks like Dash decided to sleep over at Fluttershy’s… apparently Fluttershy was scared someone got into her house…” She mumbled.

“Is she alright?” Cadence asked.

“Yeah… just scared out of her mind.” Twilight said.

“That’s good.” Ark smiled.

Twilight set her phone down on the table and closed her eyes again as she nuzzled her head against Ark’s chest.

Twilight smiled and looked up at him.

“Yeah.” Shining nodded.

Shining coughed a little, “Um…” He mumbled.

Twilight’s smile only widened.

“How could I ever not?” Ark asked.

“If I didn't want a little break…” Twilight whispered.

Ark kissed her again and they held it for a little bit.

“I was actually hoping that it wouldn’t go… well that was already out the door by the time we got here.” Shining sighed.

Ark pulled back from the kiss and smiled widely.

“What?” Twilight asked.

Ark remained silent and entwined his hands with hers.

“Twilly…” Shining said.

Twilight glanced over at Shining. “Yeah?” She asked.

“I feel before you two get really serious about getting married you should at least take him to meet mom and dad.” Shining said.

Twilight smiled and looked up at Ark. “That’s a great idea!” She said happily.

“I’d love to.” Ark said, kissing Twilight on the cheek.

The four of them appeared in Canterlot square in a bright flash.

Ark stumbled after he took a step and he fell into Twilight, his head now rested against her breasts.

Shining sighed and headed off towards the castle.

Twilight’s head snapped to her dad, glaring angrily as she pushed a finger painfully into his chest. “We’re not coming inside until you apologize to him.” She stated, prodding his chest again.
