Chapter 5: Guidance
Previous ChapterNext ChapterAn hour later:
Twilight sighed as she relaxed back into Ark’s grasp. “So warm…” She mumbled.
“I’m always happy to warm you up.” Ark smiled, kissing her neck a few times.
Night placed a few glasses on the table and filled them with water.
“Thank you dad.” Twilight smiled as she took two of the glasses.
Night smiled back as he sat down beside Velvet.
“I’ve been wanting to know, how did you two meet?” Velvet asked.
“Um…” Twilight mumbled. “He fell out of a portal… with a crossbow bolt in his neck… and I saved his life…”
“Why would you have a crossbow bolt in your neck?” Night asked.
“It’s a long story… that I don’t enjoy even thinking about…” Ark said quietly.
“I want to make sure my dau-” Night was cut off as the front door opened up.
Cadence, Shining, and Celestia entered the house.
“Hey mom, hey dad.” Shining said.
“Hello.” Velvet smiled.
“It’s so good to see you two.” Celestia smiled.
“Likewise Princess.” Night nodded.
“And it’s always a pleasure to see you Twilight.” Celestia said.
“Princess.” Twilight bowed.
Celestia chuckled, “Twilight it’s alright we’re all family.” She said. She paused for a moment as she looked at Ark, “Well, not all of us.”
Ark stood up and bowed, “Your highness.” He said.
“Why don’t we all sit down?” Celestia asked.
Twilight nodded and walked over to the couch.
Shining and Cadence sat down too.
Ark took a seat beside Twilight, while Celestia sat across from them.
“I’ve heard a little bit about your relationship with Twilight… but I want to hear what you both have to say on it.” Celestia said calmly.
“I l-” Ark was cut off by Twilight.
“I love him with all my heart and want to stay with him for the rest of my life.” Twilight stated quickly.
“Are you sure that you truly love him?” Celestia asked.
“I’ve never been more sure about anything Princess.” Twilight said.
“I’ve seen this happen many time before…” Celestia said.
“Seen what?” Ark asked.
“A relationship started on lust… but most never make it past that.” Celestia said.
“It’s… more than just that…” Twilight said.
“I would say time will tell but…” Celestia smiled. “I can already see that you’ve excelled in breaking through that barrier too...”
“You could say that…” Twilight chuckled.
“It’s great to know tha-” Celestia stopped and looked around.
“What’s wrong?” Shining asked.
“When did you arrive?” Celestia asked, looking directly at Ark.
“About three days ago… why?” Ark asked.
“My sister and I both felt that massive burst of magic… and I just felt it again.” Celestia said. “This time… it was a lot closer…”
“That could either be very good… or very very bad.” Ark said.
“Um… very bad would be?” Twilight asked.
“The rebels.” Ark said, a tinge of fear in his voice.
“And… the good?” Twilight asked.
“The Royal Guard’s found me and it’s a scout trying to locate me.” Ark said.
“How many more would be coming through if it is a scout and he finds you?” Celestia asked.
“The remainder… which is if they’re all still alive… fifteen.” Ark said quietly.
“And if they’re rebels?” Twilight asked.
“Then it’s an assassin.” Ark said. “And that’s all they’ll assume they need.”
“Well they didn’t expect us.” Twilight smiled.
Ark smiled and hugged Twilight. After a moment he pulled back and stared at his hand.
“What’s wrong?” Twilight asked.
“Give me a se-” He was cut off as a small fire appeared in his palm.
“Is… that good?” Twilight asked, staring at the fire.
“This means my magic wasn’t as far gone as I thought…” Ark said. “And that also means now if it comes to it I can stand my own ground…”
“Is there something else it means?” Celestia asked.
“It means I’m also a lot easier to find.” Ark said.
“Let them come… you’re not alone you know.” Twilight said, grabbing his hand gently.
“I’m sure with all of us here we can more then take on a single person.” Celestia said.
“I’m not worried about myself…” Ark said quietly.
“We’ll be fine…” Twilight said reassuringly.
“I know I won’t le-” Ark was cut off as the sound of an armored fist knocking on the door echoed through the house.
Night got up slowly and looked out the window. “He’s armed…” He said. “With both a sword and a bow…”
Everyone else looked at Twilight and Ark.
“What do we do?” Twilight asked quietly.
“I feel if he was an assassin… he’d have definitely taken a different route… then knocking on the front door.” Ark said.
“What is h-” Night was cut off as the door’s lock clicked open.
“Yeah he’s no rebel… they prefer just blowing the door up over picking it open.” Ark said.
The door was pushed open, “Sorry for that I just can’t wait any longer.” The armored man said.
“You’re… breaking into my house and you expect…” Night began.
“I just need to con-” The man froze as he stared at Ark. “By the… It is real!”
“Brandon?” Ark questioned.
“Sir, yes sir!” Brandon saluted. “I was sent here to locate you!”
“You seem too good to be true…” Twilight said skeptically.
“What do you mean?” Brandon questioned.
Ark opened his mouth for a second before he slowly glanced over Brandon’s armor. “That’s… too fresh…” He mumbled.
Brandon gulped a little saliva back.
“Who are you… really.” Twilight asked slowly.
“I’m…” Brandon mumbled.
“A pathetic liar.” Celestia said.
Brandon whipped out a dagger, before anyone else could react Ark hit him with a solid ball of fire sending him backwards out the door.
When everyone looked back at Ark his hand and arm were covered in flames. “No, you don’t.” He stated.
“What the hell!” Twilight said.
Ark was breathing heavily as he stepped around the couch and slowly walked towards Brandon who was trying to stand again.
“Please… don’t kill me…” Brandon pleaded.
“You don’t seem to understand that it’s not my decision on your fate now…” Ark said, stomping down on his wrist and cutting off the spell Brandon was attempting to channel. “And you’re just driving the nail deeper…”
“Princess do you want me to take him into the cast-” Shining was cut off.
“Twilight, what do you feel should happen to this man?” Celestia asked calmly.
Twilight stared at the man for a moment. “I don’t know how things work where you come from… but I’m not going to let anyone die today.” She stated, looking back at Celestia.
“Shining you can take him in.” Celestia said.
Shining nodded and quickly tied the man’s hands up.
“I’d suggest using something to cut off spell channeling.” Ark said.
“Don’t worry he won’t be getting out until I deem him fit to leave.” Celestia said. “I’ll need to alert the rest of the guard that things could be changing… if you need me at all I’ll be at the castle.” She walked out of the house with Shining and Cadence.
Ark looked back for a moment before staring at the ground.
“What’s wrong?” Twilight asked.
“Nothing…” Ark said quietly.
“Ark.” Twilight said, putting a hand on his shoulder.
Ark continued to silently stare at the ground.
“Please don’t ignore me Ark…” Twilight said softly and pleadingly.
Ark looked back at her, “I wanted so badly to protect you…” He said quietly.
“I don’t need protecting Ark…” Twilight said with a smile.
“No matter how many times I’ll hear that… I can’t believe it…” Ark said as he hugged her.
“If I’ve learned anything from being married to your father Twilight… Is that men need something to protect, even though they might be overstepping their bounds.” Velvet said.
“Being who I am… that’s just increased tenfold.” Ark chuckled.
“Well it’s good to know I’ll always have you then.” Twilight said and nuzzled herself against him.
“You know… seeing as he is a prince… and I’d assume a knight… wouldn’t your one friend Rarity just fall for him too?” Velvet chuckled.
“I’m not scared I’ll lose him to anyone.” Twilight smiled
“Why would I want anyone else?” Ark smiled back.
Twilight pressed her lips to his and melted into him right away.
Their tongues gently rolled and rubbed against each other.
“It’s good to see that you two feel that there’s more to being in love then just sex.” Velvet joked.
Twilight broke the kiss, “Mom, Dad do you mind if we stay here for the night?” She asked.
“Not at all.” Night smiled.
“Then let’s go to bed early…” Twilight smiled, her horn flared to life and both she and Ark were teleported up to her bedroom.
“I’ve got to say… they look cute together.” Velvet said.
“Yes. They do.” Night nodded.
Velvet wrapped herself around Night, “Why don’t we head off to bed?” She asked, nuzzling herself against him.
“I’d love that…” Night smiled.
Twilight laid down beside Ark and nuzzled herself against his warm body.
“I want to try something new tonight…” Ark said softly.
“Can we just sl-” Twilight stopped as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her even closer.
“I want to hold and cuddle with you all night long…” He smiled.
She nuzzled his chest and laid her head down, “That sounds nice.” She said.
“Twilight…” He said quietly.
“Hm?” She questioned.
“I just want to ask… do you want any children?” He asked.
She looked up at him, “With you? Yes. Yes I do.” She said, “If I were in season… I’d tie you to our bed and ride you until it ended…”
“You know I’d enjoy it.” He smiled.
She smiled and rubbed her nose against his. “I love you so much Ark.” She said.
“I love you more…” He said.
“No, you don’t…” She said.
“Yes, I do…” He said, kissing the end of her nose.
“Nope.” She giggled.
“Yep.” He said, kissing her on the lips.
“Oh yeah? Then why don’t y-” Twilight was cut off as she moaned. “Mmm yeah… right there…”
Ark smiled as he massaged her back.
She relaxed and nuzzled her head against his chest, “Good night…” She mumbled.
He kissed the top of her head. “Good night to you too…” He said.
Twilight closed her eyes and fell asleep.
Ark soon followed and his grip on her loosened slightly.
Dream:
The air around Arkantos was chilled. The night sky was covered in smoke and clouds.
He stared around the field. He could tell it had once been green and fertile. Now it was pot marked and scarred with the blasts and impact zones of magic. Bodies laid strewn about some torn apart others dangling from spears, poles, trees, or laying broken on the ground.
“I would ask what this is…” A female voice said quietly.
Ark spun around and drew his long sword. “Who are you?” He questioned.
“I am Princess Luna, Princess of the night and of dreams.” She said.
“Dre- And you decided to…” Ark began.
“You’re having a nightmare. And frankly… I can see why…” Luna said.
“This was… the first confrontation with the rebels… and I failed… I failed everyone…” Ark said quietly.
“You did? Then why is it that this isn’t the last?” She asked.
“I let so many men and woman die!” He said.
“Any leader knows there’s risks to everything.” She said.
“Risks that could have been avoided…” Ark sighed quietly.
“What are yo-” Luna started.
“I gave the order that caused this…” Ark said. “I sent thousands of people to their deaths…”
She remained quiet.
“Even better… I caused thousands more to die… I left villages unprotected because I wanted to end the rebellion… because I wanted to get the empire back to normal…” He stammered as he fell onto his knees. “It was entirely my fault… every single… one of them…”
“No it wasn’t. You did what you thought was right. And they all followed you to it BECAUSE they wanted to! They trusted you and they would have and did die for you.” She snapped.
He flinched.
“Even I can see that what you truly fear is YOUR PAST FAILURE! Let it go! Stop hanging onto the past. Look to what you have now.” She said. “You have a beautiful woman hanging onto you in her own sleep. You have her hanging onto your every word… your every touch… She love you to no end. Don’t let every failure overpower your successes. That won’t end well. And I speak from experience.”
He looked up at her.
“It seems you have work to do…” Luna said calmly.
“Wha-”
Ark’s POV:
My eyes shot open and I heard Twilight crying softly in the bathroom. I quickly got up and walked over to the door. “Twilight?” I asked softly. “What’s wrong?”
The crying stopped immediately. “N… nothing.” She said shakily.
“Twilight… please I can’t help if you don’t tell me what’s wrong.” I said.
“It… was just a bad dream… there’s nothing you can do.” She said.
“Then why don’t you let me in?” I asked. “If I can’t do anything about it, I can at least hold you and help push the fear away right?”
She paused for a moment before the door clicked open. “Okay…” She sniffled.
I quickly entered and locked the door behind me before sitting down beside her and gently pulling her against my chest. “I know you really don’t want to tell me about the dream… I still want to hear it though…” I said softly.
She looked up at me for a moment, “You were leaving me…” She said quietly.
I held her a little tighter and kept quiet.
“I dreamt… you had been cheating on me and… that you said they were better than me…” She sniffled, “And you told me… I should just give up and stop trying to fall in love… that I was w-”
“Stop.” I stated. “First of all… I’m never going to leave you… you’re everything I want… no everything I NEED. You’re more perfect than what I can ever stress… the only one of us who has to fear that they aren’t good enough is me…”
“Ark…” She said quietly.
I smiled and kissed her, “I love you so much Twilight.” I said softly, gently caressing her cheek.
“I love you too… Thank you.” She smiled, nuzzling herself against my chest.
I hugged her closer and pressed my face into her hair.
“My crying couldn’t have woken you up… Not that I regret it not happening.” Twilight joked.
“You weren’t the only one having a nightmare…” I said quietly. I shivered slightly at the thought.
“Why don’t we go back into the bed and… not sleep. Together.” Twilight said with a growing smile.
I smiled and lifted her up and set her down on the counter. My smile grew as I pressed my lips to hers.
She moaned softly, closing her eyes and wrapping her legs around my waist.
I reached out and managed to grab the door handle and pop it open. When it was fully opened I lifted her back up and slowly carried her back out to the bed. I broke the kiss momentarily, “I bet by tomorrow… we’ll just be on the floor…” I joked.
“Well… you’ll be on the floor. I’ll be on the most comfy bed in the world.” She joked, poking my nose.
“Let’s not waste anymore time then…” I said as I kneeled down on the bed and slowly laid her onto her back. My dick already hard and pressing against her pussy.
“Let’s try not to wake everyone up… even though that’s not going to be the hardest thing tonight.” She said.
