Power is Corrupt
Bad Apple
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe first stop they had to make was a little farm on the edge of town. The people here were in charge of the food. It wasn’t hard to find. On the very edge of town, there hung a sign that said “Red Field Slaughterhouse” along with some graphic graffiti sprayed across it. Blackfield stopped the car and turned it off next to a big flatbed truck, since she assumed this was where the parking spot was.
Blackfield and Spike stepped out of the car and looked around. The setting was a bit gloomy, with the sun just barley starting to come up, and clouds parked permanently above their current location, and they could vaguely hear a wolf howling in the distance. They shuddered and hesitantly walked up to the front gate, though the gate was closed, the sign on the front of it said “ENTER”, so they just climbed over. Just past the acres of apple trees, they saw a little farmhouse in the distance, so they decided to go and check it out. Spike looked at all of the big, juicy apples as they walked by and his mouth watered. Though he just ate, he didn’t exactly get his fill.
So without thinking, Spike plucked one of the apples from the trees.
“Spike! What are you doing!?” Blackfield nagged at him.
“Oh come on! I didn’t get enough time to eat since you were rushing me so much! Besides, who’s it gonna kill?” Spike said with a bit of irritation in his voice.
Before spike could take a bite from the apple, they both heard a gunshot and the apple exploded in Spike’s hand. Blackfield panicked and looked around. She just barley caught site of someone hiding behind one of the trees in the distance.
Blackfield drew her sword from her sheath and held it in front of her.
“Who’s there!?” she shouted into the many sprout of trees out in front of her.
Blackfield was responded to by what sounded like a western cow-girl. “The owner of this farm! Who the fuck do you think you are stealing from me!?”
Blackfield gave Spike an I-told-you-so look and looked back to where she saw the person hide. When she looked back, she saw a woman in a long, light brown jacket, red leather bikini top and bottom, a long heavy looking sword strapped to her back, and a cowgirl hat, pointing a desert eagle straight at her. Before she knew it, the girl fired 6 shots.
If Blackfield wasn’t good enough with her sword to block bullets, they all 6 of those shot probably would have gone through the same hole, but one of them did barley graze her cheek. She was a good shot…… The woman proceeded to run a bit farther away and take cover behind another tree. Blackfield tried her best to get close, but every time she tried, she was pushed back by a flying storm of bullets. There was no way in Hell that she was gonna get close. She was gonna have to use her magic.
Blackfield sheathed her sworn and summoned her magical energy by mumbling a few chants, and felt the burning of fire in her hands. Blackfield opened her eyes and shot a fire storm of meteors in the direction of the woman. But she was very quick, the woman proceeded to dodge-roll her way out of their path, and shot a few more rounds at Blackfield, one of them finally hitting Blackfield directly in the shoulder. She shouted out in pain and collapsed. Spike look at Blackfield and anger began to build up inside him. He looked at the woman and ran as fast as he could towards her. he may not have liked blackfield very much but he wasnt about to let her take this!
Though his scales were bullet-proof, the bullets did cause a sharp pain where they hit. Spike ignored all the pain and continued to charge at the woman with full force. Once he got close enough, spike summoned all of his strength and gave her strong right hook to the face. The punch was fierce enough to knock her back about 10 feet and make a dent in one of the trees. Spike walked up to her to check if she was dead, but to his surprise she stood back up, groaning a little bit, obviously OK. The woman looked at spike and wiped the dripping blood from the side of her mouth.
Spike was surprised to see her standing again. Normally a punch like that could take off a stone golem’s head! Spike growled and raised his fist to hit her again, but before he could bring the pain, the woman gave him a hard uppercut to his ribs. He heard a loud snapping sound as the punch connected, and the woman then gave him a roundhouse kick right across his face, knocking him back quite a bit. As Spike stood, all he could hear was a loud ringing in his ears where the woman had kicked him. Spike tried to find the woman, but his vision had been blurred. That chick sure knew how to give a good kick.
Just then, Spike was hit in the back of the head and he collapsed to the ground. He turned over and looked up at the woman, with one of her feet on his chest, pointing the guns right where the bullets would go through; his eyes. Just as Spike thought it was the end he saw a quick flash of silver fly up next to him and slice the woman right across the eye. She screamed out in pain and dropped her guns. Spike looked up at his savior….. Pinkamena. She was holding a hatchet in her hand that had blood dripping off of the sharp tip of it.
Pinkamena licked the blood off of the blade in a bit of an erotic way and held out her hand to help and lifted him up.
“You go and get Blackfield, I’ll watch over Bad Apple here…..” She said to the beaten dragon man.
Learning her name, he realized why this had all happened. Bad Apple was the owner of this farm and wasn’t too happy about when Spike took the apple without her permission. He suddenly felt guilty when he looked down at Bad Apple. She was still screaming out in pain, holding her eye, trying to stop it from bleeding.
He sighed and when to retrieve an unconscious Blackfield. He threw her body over his shoulder, as did Pinkamena with Bad Apple, and followed her to the farmhouse. Spike was a little concerned about walking right up to the home of the girl who just tried to kill him, but he had to see if there was anybody there who could help her. Once he got up to the house, Spike knocked on the door and waited impatiently for someone to answer. Once they finally did, the man who opened the door was about eight inches bigger than Spike, and had the build of a freaking rock monster! The man looked at Bad Apple and stepped to the side, letting them in, his expression unchanged.
When Spike walked in, he saw a girl inside with three of her friends. They seemed awfully familiar. But that wasn’t important now, he set Blackfield on the cleared table right next to a now unconscious Bad Apple. The man from earlier came in with what looked like a first aid kit and told them, to leave. Spike wasn’t about to obey, but Pinkamena grabbed his arms and pulled him out of the room. They sat on the ground with one of the teenage kids in the room while the other two sat on the ground trying to kill each other at Call of Duty.
Spike looked over at the girl next to him and recognized her as the girl from the street when Pinkamena was driving them to their new home. The girl looked up at him and smiled. He looked down at the other two kids and saw that they were the three other girls who accompanied her when running across the street. Pinkamena decided to leave the room, but not before giving the 4 teenagers a dirty look and walking off. Obviously she didn’t like their little group, but why?
As if she read his mind, the pale girl with the junkyard outfit spoke up without taking her eyes off the screen. “We don’t exactly get along with Pinkamena. We may have caused her quite a few problems in the past”
Spike wasn’t too surprised to hear that the 4 teenagers caused someone trouble.
“What did you do to her?” he asked with sencire curiosity.
Now it was the girl in the orange, skull decorated hoodie’s turn to speak up.
“Eh, we’ve robbed her store a couple times, jumped her, we’ve mugged her quite a few times also. And in return she ‘accidentally’ hits us with her car. Only when she’s the only one in the car though.” She said with a cigarette in her mouth and killing the redhead with a quickscope.
That would explain why she didn’t run them over when she saw them in the street.
It seemed like Pinkamena and the group of kids had their own little war going on.
The one next to him decided to introduce herself first. “Appleboom, I’m the one who came up with the idea of the Tramp Stamp Terrorists.”
She held out her hand and Spike didn’t hesitate to shake it.
The girl with the AK-47 introduced herself next. “Crimson Fury, I’m mainly the one to take action and goes into our little schemes head first!”
The girl with the striped red and orange hair looked over at him after putting her cigarette out in the ashtray. "ah'm Bads Bleed. I guess you could call the the 'cavalry' of the group. if crimson fury fails, i head in next. and if i fail, the whole group comes in"
Then there was the last one. “Bell Toll. I mainly plan out the operations and since I’m the only one of the three of us who has a driver’s license, I handle evacuation and escape routes, plus I share the same psychic powers as my sister.”
Well…. four weren’t the little rookie trouble makers Pinkamena made them out to be, they were downright professionals!
“Do your little robberies and muggings usually go well?” Spiked asked intruiged.
“Usually, but sometimes we get in a little over our heads….” Crimson Fury said, her jaw starting to tighten in anger.
Apple Boom spoke up after her friend. “Like this one time when we tried to rob Killestia’s royal safe. We’re lucky we escaped alive!”
Spike was surprised to hear these 4 had the guts to actually try to rob the Goddess Killestia! Let alone actually manage to get out alive! Before he could ask any more questions, Spike was interrupted by a bandaged up blackfield walking into the room. Her arm was in a little cloth wrapped around her shoulder and her shoulder was covered by a bandaged.
A little of blood was seen bleeding through, though not too much… That’s when He heard the intense screaming from inside the kitchen where the man from earlier was treating Bad Apple. It sounded as though she was in twice as much pain as when they brought her in. He didn’t want to, but Spike’s curiosity got the better of him and he went in to see what all the commotion was about. What he saw may have been imbedded into his memory for life... Bad Apple was laid across the kitchen table, thrashing and screaming, while the man seemed to be cleaning out the eye socket that had been injured.
Spike looked at the little tray next to the man and next to all the little tools of surgery, he saw a sliced eyeball and it’s stem lying on the tray.
Before Spike could leave the bloody scene, the man spotted him and shouted. “You! Come over here and help me hold her down! Quick!”
As much as Spike felt like he was about to vomit, he rushed over and helped restrain Bad Apple’s head and body. The guy who was working on her finished up cleaning out her eye socket and stuck a small rag into it to stop the bleeding, and finished up by wrapping a bandage right around her head, across her eye. Instead of giving her something to help put her to sleeping, the man just cleaned up the mess from the injury and walked off, leaving Bad Apple on the table crying. Spike felt bad for her, but there was nothing he could do.
So instead, he just took a seat and waited for the woman the stop crying. After about 10 minutes of sobbing in pain, she finally cried herself dry and wiped her….. Eye.
“You ok now…?” Spike asked meaningfully.
She looked over at the large dragon man and gave her eye one last wipe. “Yeah… I am now…”
“My guess is you’re not too used to pain?” He asked a little jokingly but mostly serious.
She chuckeld and and spike couldnt believe he could get her to smile again.
“Nah, I’m pretty used to pain, hell I experience it every day, sometimes it’s just worse than others, but I’ve never really had my eye split open before, so it was a little surprising to me.” she said looking at the mess she had made.
Spike smiled back at the Woman “I know what you mean”
Bad Apple raised an eyebrow. “Wadya mean?”
Spike chuckled and lifted his shirt, exposing a large scare right in the middle on his belly. “My scales may be strong, but they’re not invincible, I took a sword straight though the gut, impaled me all the way through, lemme tell you I’ve never been in so much pain in my life.”
Bad apple looked shocked. “Where in the hell did you get impaled by a sword!?”
Spike laughed out loud, surprising the one eyed woman.
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you! But enough of that, who was that guy who was fixing your eye?” spike asked a little curious about the tall, silent man.
“Hm? You mean Big Bad Mac? He’s my brother, we usually come to him if we need some serious help. Though it’s usually rare, since ‘serious’ here isn’t that common...” she answered casually.
Spike wanted to continue the conversation, but Blackfield called out to Spike, telling him they had to leave. After they were done checking up on the food preparations like they were supposed to, which they came to a conclusion that it was handled and delicious, they smiled, waved goodbye and walked back to their car.
It had been a long day and it was getting dark out. After thinking about it, Blackfield realized the ceremony wasn’t actually for another week, she decided that she and Spike would go back home since it was already dark out and get some sleep.
