Teacher for a day

Tornadus and Thundurus were flying home. Thundurus was smiling and giggling to himself.

“Why are you so happy today?”  Asked Tornadus in a sceptical mood

“Why wouldn't I be, it's mine and Fleur's two month anniversary and I finally get to see her parents” he giggled.

“Well lardy darh! I'm soooo happy for you” he replied sarcastically.

Thundurus stared at him with a frown.

“What? Got your mane in a twist?” Thundurus replied grumpily.

Tornadus glared.

“Oh I don't know, maybe the fact that my brother has a gorgeous mare friend who he keeps bragging about. Oh and the FACT THAT HE ALSO TAKES DAYS OFF TO SPEND TIME WITH HER”

“Well then, if it is bothering you so much then I’ll be getting my suit and be having a nice night while you stay at home a be grumpy”

Thundurus flew off in huff with Tornadus following him.

The two made it home. They didn't say a word. Thundurus but on his suit and grabbed a bottle of some fancy looking wine and stormed out. Tornadus on the other hoof sat down with a plate of biscuits and started to read the paper until his brother left.

“Lucky prick, if our mane and coat’s were inverted, I would so ruin his relationship” Tornadus sighed.

He got up and opened a small cupboard in the corner in there was a lot of types of alcoholic drinks.

“Wait, where is it?... Oh he didn't... he did, that bastard stole my last bottle of chateau romani That cost me a lot and I only could find it in Ponyville”

Tornadus slammed to cupboard shut and opened his wallet. After counting his bits he looked up and left for ponyville.

Ponyville

Tornadus was wondering through town when noticed a sign on a pub.

“Happy hour, all drinks half price” That brought a smile to Tornadus. “Well I haven't got work tomorrow so time to enjoy myself”

So he walked in casually.

Inside the pub he sat down and ordered his drink. He looked around as he waited. He noticed a purple mare downing pints of beer with a bunch of stallions cheering her on until she collapsed. The bartender walked over to her

“Ok Berry, you’ve had way too much now stumble on home” he pushed Berry out of the pub.

Tornadus felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around to see his drink had arrived.

“Thanks” said Tornadus as he took a sip.

He started to hear crying he looked around he noticed a mare cry in the corned she had a lot of empty glass around her.

“Hey who that?” he asked to a group sitting next to him.

One of the them looked over, “Who Cheerliee?” he asked

“Yeah, what’s the matter with her?” Tornadus replied.

“Apparently she had a bad break up and now she’s drowning the pain away”

Tornadus took another sip and turned back to the counter. As time passed Tornadus was starting  to get a bit tired. He paid for his last drink and started to walk out. As he did he heard the bartender talking to Cheerliee.

“Look miss, I understand you're upset but it’s time for you to get out and get some rest”

Cheerilee sinvilled, “Why it's not like I’ve got work it’s only saturday”

“No ma'am, it's sunday so get off you're flank and get out” he said as he grabbed Cheerliee by the hoof and tossed her out.

Tornadus left too.He looked at the clock and was about to head home when he noticed Cheerliee stumble to a house. She got out a key and started trying to open the door. After several attempts, the door opened but instead of it being her house it was her neighbours. They pointed to her house and slammed the door. Cheerliee stumbled next door and before she opened the door, she threw up and continued to open the door. As she walked in, she tripped. Tornadus flew over to see if she was alright. She fell on the floor crying and moaning about her ex.

“Umm miss? Do you need any help?” he asked.

Cheerliee stood up before almost falling over again. Tornadus helped carry her in and sat her down on her sofa. She was still crying.

“What am I gonna do? How could I forget that I have to teach tomorrow?”

Tornadus didn't quite know how to reply so he tried to leave.

“You there, would you please cover for me?” Cheerliee begged.

“Whoa whoa whoa. Why not just call in sick? I'm sure a substitute teacher would be fine” Tornadus backed away.

“Come on, please? It's just one day and my class will probably want to make get well cards so you won't really have to teach. So please?” Cheerliee looked desperate.

Tornadus shook his head, “I'm sorry miss but if I recall, it's against the law to teach without a licence”

Cheerliee grabbed him, “Oh please please! Just one day! I'll pay you back, please!”

Tornadus sighed, “Fine, just this once but if I get into trouble, you better tell them the truth” Cheerliee thanked Tornadus and grabbed a bag full of teaching supplies. Tornadus took the bag and left as he did he realized the mistake he just made but he …? and then flew back home.

Tornadus arrived home before his brother. He went to his room and started to look through the bag of teaching supplies and pondered to himself why is he still going along with this, then he heard knocking. Tornadus opened the door, it was his brother and Fleur. They walked in and Fleur sat down while Thundurus poured a couple of drinks.

“So Fleur’s parents not interesting?” asked Tornadus.

“If you must know, Fleur’s parents had to go so Fleur decided she wanted to see our house so anyway apart from drinking what have done?”

“Well I became a teacher for a day”

Thundurus looked confused. Tornadus explained. Thundurus, at first, thought it was a joke but soon he understood.

“Well good luck with it. If you don't mind, I have a mare friend to get back to”

Thundurus left and Tornadus went back to his room and soon went to sleep.

The next day

Tornadus woke up early he grabbed the supplies and began to leave. When he went down stairs he noticed his brother and Fleur on the couch. Tornadus left, he stretched his wings and took off but he looked back at his house.

“Noisy prick, could he make her scream any louder” he thought to himself and headed to ponyville.

Tornadus approached the school. He looked around for any other teachers.

“Hmm I can’t just walk in and start teaching. Looks like I have to sneak in”

Tornadus creeped around until he found a free class room.

“Wow, they left the window open. It just gets better and better”

He snuck through the window and shut it behind him. Tornadus approached the door he looked around for any sign of trouble he open the door slowly he looked at the number.

“Room 4A. Hmm Cheerliee, said that her class was 4B so it must be close”

Tornadus looked around until he found the room.

“Well I was wrong... Stupid school” he moaned he looked through. The window he saw that all of Cheerliee student were sat down talking to each other. Tornadus took in a deep breath and enter the classroom all eye were on him.

“Hello class, I'm your substitute teacher Mister Tornadus”

He wrote his name on the board and then passed a piece of paper with squares on it to one of the student.

“Ok class, please put your name in the box that represents your seat” Tornadus asked

After the class wrote their names, practically all of them put their hooves up.

“Now you're all probably wondering where Miss Cheerlie is” the class nodded in unison.

“She is fine. She just wasn't feeling well but she should be back tomorrow”

One of the students raised her hoof.

“Um yes, umm...” he look at the paper “Twist, is it”

Twist nodded.

“Could we make get well cards for miss Cheerliee” Twist ask.

“Of course you can” Tornadus said which made the class happy.

Tornadus thought to himself, “Ok this keep them occupied for a while”

The class started to make their card. Tornadus wandered around trying to act like a normal teacher. He had to answer a few question. The bell rang Tornadus looked at the clock.

“Okay class, time for a break” the students dashed out of the classroom joyfully. Tornadus looked at all of the student cards.

“Aw man, their almost done and it only their first break” he muttered to himself he started to rummage through his stuff.

“Cheerlie you drunken dits, you didn't tell me what to teach them. Hang on Tornadus, what did you learn in school when you were their age”

Tornadus thought long and hard, “Oh yeah, you were asleep most of the time. Damn you past me!!”

Tornadus took in another deep breath.

Later the class walked in and sat down and continued making their cards but soon they were finished and soon the class were staring, waiting for the next task. Tornadus started to worry. He looked at the clock and there was still twenty minutes left until lunch. A student raised their hoof. Tornadus looked at the paper again.

“Yes Applebloom?”

“Excuse me sir but you look familiar and your name. Are you, by any chance, related to Thundurus of the Catastrophic Colts?” Tornadus looked nervous.

“Um... Well yes, he is my twin brother”

The class started to talk amongst themselves.

“So were you aware that you're brother was a no good thief?” said one of the students.

“Excuse me Diamond Tiara but I would appreciated if you didn't call me or my brother no good thieves”

Tornadus passed for moment as he just released what he just said and the class stared at him curiously.

“Wow that's awesome! How many ponies can say that they’ve been taught by one of the members of Catastrophic colts?” one said.

“Yeah Scootaloo is right! Hey mister Tornadus, could you tell us a story of one your adventures?” said another.

Tornadus gave a sigh of relief as the bell rang for lunch.

“Um maybe after lunch ok”

The class nodded and agreed as they left.

“Ok time for me to chow down. This teaching thing hard work or is the fact that I have no idea what i'm doing?” he thought to himself.

All of the Students walked and sat down and waited for Tornadus to start.

“Alright class, what do you want to know?” He asked.

“Oh, oh what was it like being a member of The Catastrophic Colts?” asked Scootaloo.

“Well life was different to say the least. Everypony acted different but after a big screw up we started to bond. It's kinda funny how we all change”

The class gave him a confused look.

“Umm well most of you know Blaze, right? Always happy to help”

The class nodded.

“Well when we first met, he was arrogant and selfish. He only cared about being in charge but he was a bit of a wuss when it came to water. We all know that fire and water don't mix but Blaze, if someone spat a drink near him, he would be cowering ten feet away. Then you got Commandos, he was our uptight planner. He always had a plan or two but everything was work with him. He never used to any funny it was always work him and Blaze never got along. Those two wanted to be in charge and they would always be at each other arguing, trying to prove who's best. Then there’s Smasher, the guy was definitely the one with the biggest heart but the lug had a small problem. He didn't quite know his own strength. The problem was how strong he was. I’ve seen the guy smash a safe in one punch, and Psy-Psy, well, I’m not really sure about him. We never really talked. He loved his privacy. He only ever talked to Commandos and that was in private. Then there’s me and my brother. Well Thundurus loved to goof off almost as much as his snacks. The kid loved to eat and well me, I never really tried to fit in. I was more occupied with protecting Thundurus because, well we were considered the best and with that fame came fans and enemies and some ponies weren't happy with our fame. The amount of fights we got in must be getting close to a 1000. Anyway, any other question?”

Time passed as Tornadus told the class many different adventures, of course, editing them a bit for their sake and for Tornadus’s ego but as the last bell rang. He waved the class goodbye and left to return Cheerliee’s bag and all of the cards the class made.

Tornadus knocked on the door after a couple of minutes the door opened. Cheerliee looked worse than yesterday.

“Um Cheerliee, you don't look so good. Did you have a few more drinks by any chance”

“Just a few *hic* small drinks” she replied, Tornadus was doubtful.

“Right well here’s your bag and Umm...”

Cheerliee started to approach him. Tornadus tried to back away but she grabbed him.

“Umm... Cheerliee I think you had a bit too much” as he said that, Cheerliee forcefully kissed him.

 “Whoa!” Tornadus said as Cheerliee grabbed him dragged him inside and slammed the door behind him.

Cheerliee stumbled into the kitchen where she started to pour two glasses of wine. Tornadus looked around as he tried to figure a way out when he noticed the label on the bottle. He walked up to Cheerliee.

“I see you have an exquisite taste of wine” he said as he started smell the wine before having a sip. He washed it around his mouth before gulping it down.

“This brand is quite expensive. I didn't think a teacher’s salary could afford it” he said as he finished his glass.

“My ex got for me” Cheerliee muttered.

A tear formed in her eye as she threw her glass to the ground, shattering it into millions of pieces. Cheerliee collapsed as she began to cry heavily

“What have I become! Drinking on work days as a complete stranger does my work and then offering him sex”

“Cheerliee” Tornadus said, offering a hoof.

Cheerliee got up and stared at him.

“Do me a favor?” he asked as he wiped Cheerliee  tears away. “GET A GRIP! LOOK MISSY, WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOU LIKE HAVING A BAD BREAK UP, IT'S OK TO GET UPSET BUT INSTEAD OF DRINKING, TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS!” Tornadus yelled as he shook Cheerliee about.

“But... but...” Cheerliee mumbled.

Tornadus glared and shook his head. Cheerliee put the bottle away.

“Now while I clean this mess, you better start planning for your job. You’ve got a class to teach tomorrow”

Cheerliee slightly left and got out some textbooks as Tornadus started to sweep up the shattered glass, there was a knock and Cheerliee opened the door. It was a tall blue stallion

“Deporte!” Cheerliee sounded surprised “What are you doing here?”

“Um yeah, hi Cheerliee. I just thought I would visit, you know, to see how you were, you know, after the fight and all”

He was smiling greatly and smelled like he just put on a whole bottle of cologne. Cheerliee looked sceptical.

“Really, I think you meant to say was sorry Cheerliee but my mare friend that I was dating at the same time as you left me... Please take me back”

Deporte looked a bit nervous, “Um she wasn't my girlfriend, she was some chick”

That made Cheerliee furious and Tornadus poked his head out and asked, “So let me get this straight, you slept with a stranger yes, no, maybe and you got caught so now you’ve come crawling back to Cheerliee? Wow, just wow”

Deporte pushed Cheerliee aside, “Wait, look who's talking huh” he said with a smug look. *Smack*

Chreeliee slapped him across face.

“How dare you you come crawling back and then accuse me of sleeping with someone just because he inside my house. Now you have three seconds before I slam the door into your face”  Deporte began to sweat heavily, “Um um... Threesome?” he said nervously.

Cheerliee slammed the door as hard as she could and stormed passed by Tornadus and gave out a large sigh.

“Can you believe I was in love with that guy?”

Tornadus walked over to her, “Well that was the past” he said comfortingly. He looked at the clock “Wow, it's gotten late”

“Yeah, you better get going” Cheerliee said as she opened the door. Tornadus left, he was wandering around thinking what he was gonna eat tonight when Deporte and two other colts stepped out.

“I don't know who you are but you made me struck out with Chreeliee so me and my boys are gonna teach you a lesson”

Deporte’s goons surrounded Tornadus.

“Okay three things: One, the name is Tornadus. Two, it's not my fault that all you think about is sex and three, that was a horrible pun and you should feel bad for making it”

That only made Deporte angry. The three swung as Tornadus flew up avoiding their attacks.

“Hey come down and fight properly” yelled one of the goons.

Tornadus rolled his eyes as he landed in front of them.

“Happy now?” he said.

The group charged. Tornadus jumped up and slammed Deporte on the back of his head. He charged and punched one in the stomach the other ran away.

“Sorry Cheerliee” he said as he ran away.

Tornadus looked at Cheerliee. Deporte got up and brushed himself off

“You saw that right Cheerliee? He just started beating us up”

Cheerliee frowned.

“I’ve been a teacher for five and a half year now and I know when a bully is lying. Now you and your friend better leave before you embarrass yourself”

The two ran away.

“Well this day has been different” Tornadus said as he watched the two run away.

“I'm sorry about dragging you into this”

“Ah don't worry about it. Your class was alright” Tornadus replied.

“Oh that reminds me, I said I’ll pay you back and I’ve still got some of that wine left”

“Well you did promise, so sure”

Tornadus followed Cheerliee back to hers.
