The Adventure of Commandos and Daring Do

“All right team in line now” Ordered a purple unicorn as group of eight unicorns lined up.

“I have just received a message from the Princess” he barked.

“The Princess eh.. this gotta be good eh” said orange unicorn. “So Corba what is it, eh?” he continued.

Corba stared at him, “It doesn't concern you Maple Star, Celestia asked for this mission to be given to Commandos and only him”

Commandos raised an eyebrow, “Just me sir? he asked.

“Yes now suit up, you're going into the jungle and it’s hot today” he said as he passed Commandos his saddle bag and the letter.

40 minutes later over the drop zone

“Ok Commandos on the count of three, jump” said one of the pilots.

Commandos nodded as he prepare to jump.

“1...2...3 go”

Commandos leaped out of the plane and fell down towards the jungle he pulled his parachute and glided down softly. When he landed, he packed up his parachute and got out his map.

“So just a bit north from here is the temple of truth and in it is the mask of truth which allow the user to read minds. Hmm I bet the princess wants to keep it away from evil or something. I don't know and I don't care” he thought to himself as he began to walk to the temple.

In the temple

As Commandos look around for any traps. He noticed a bunch of darts in the wall. Commandos used his magic to pull one of the darts out.

“Hmm it’s poison tipped and it look fresh” he pondered as he tossed the dart to one side and continued down the path. On his way through the temple he noticed that more and more traps have been set off and he began to wonder if he was too late. As he approached the mask room he noticed a Pegasus slowly approaching the mask.

“So this is mask of Truth?” she said as she slowly picked it up, checking for any more traps. As she turned around she noticed Commandos.

“Who are you?”

Commandos chuckled, “That’s funny, I was going to ask you the same thing”

As the mysterious pegasus walk towards Commandos, she stepped on a floor switch. She turned around to see a massive wave of water coming towards them. The torrent of water swept them away. As they approached the entrance, a large pit opened up. Commandos looked around and noticed a large root on the ceiling. He used his magic to lower the root and as he fell, he bit it and held on for his life. He felt a sharp pain from his back. He look down top find the pegasus was holding onto his tail. As the water stopped, he swung on the root and flung him and the pegasus to safety.

“*cough* Thanks for the save*cough*” she said.

“Ok, two things: One, who are you and two, why are you here?” he asked.

“I'm Daring Do and this baby is joining my collection” she said as she admired the mask.

“It was but now its coming with me. The princess sent me for it and I'm not to coming back empty hoofed” Commandos argued.

He used his magic to take the mask. As he exited the temple, Daring flew over him.

“Hang on a second! I did all of the work! That mask is coming with me!” she glared at Commandos.

“You're both wrong, the mask is mine” said a mystery voice from the shrubbery who was followed by large group bandits which surrounded them.

“Who are you?” they both asked.

“I am the Top hat, greatest thief in all of Equestria” he laughed.

Daring and Commandos stared at him with raised eyebrows.

“Wow really that's your villain name the top hat that the worst one I heard so far” complained Daring Do.

The top hat stomped his feet.

“Grrrr how dear you, Hat-ions get them!”

The group of ponies attacked and as Commandos and Daring tried to fight back they were quickly overpowered and captured.

“Well this day went great. First I was flushed out of a temple and now I'm prisoner to the worst named villain in equestria” moaned Daring.

“Look, I have almost thought of a way out so could you be quiet?” replied Commandos.

Daring growled and mumbled to herself.

“Ok, here’s the plan: That guard has been bursting for piss for while now. When he goes, I'll use my magic to break are cuffs then we get the mask and run back. As I can tell, by all these drips of water, we must be under a spring. One big blast and flush, we get a ride out”

Daring look sceptical but agreed none the less

“So as we got time to waste, who are and why did you go to the temple?” asked Daring.

“The names Commandos. I'm apart of the Royal Guards and Celestia asked me to get the mask for her” explained Commandos.

They sat patiently they heard the guard ran off.

“Ok lets go” order Commandos as he broke the cuffs.

The two snuck through the base. They found the mask. Daring quickly gasped when the mask was removed and an alarm went off. They were soon being chased by guards as they made back to their cell they saw the Top Hat.

“Looks like you're trapped now. Give back my mask” he snapped

The two looked at each other and smiled as Commandos fired a large bolt of magic at the roof. The roof began to crumble and soon water was gushing out. They got towards the exit and they noticed a sharp drop.

“Hold on!” screamed Daring.

Commandos grabbed hold as Daring began to fly. The two made back onto dry land. Daring turned to Commandos.

“Not bad out there” she smiled.

As Darkness fell, Commandos lit a flare and the two began to talk about all sorts of things.

One and half months later

“Hey guys, I'm off to lunch” Commandos said as he took of his armour and put on his saddle bag.

Commandos wandered through Canterlot with the occasional sip of his drink. He walk to bench overlooking the forest.

“What’s with the glum face kid” said a mare.

“That like the 8th time I’ve heard somepony said that today and I'm not glum, I just don’t smile” Commandos replied  the mare sat next to him.

“Well why don't you like to smile?” she asked.

Commandos looked at her briefly and looked back at the forest.

“No special reason, I just don't”

“Well fine, I was trying to be nice but noooo~ you have to be jerk” the mare stormed off.

As she did, a pegasus landed next Commandos, “How do you do that? You knew what she was going to ask and acted to make her go away”

Commandos smiled “You know me Daring, always one step ahead”

The clock began to chime.

“*Sigh* Well looks like my lunch time is up” Commandos said disappointingly.

“What's the matter?” asked Daring.

“Its just that the only time I get to see you now is when I'm on break and most of the time, you're busy. I just wish that we could spend more time together” Commandos replied.

“Well it's like you said, it’s gonna be difficult but in the end, it will be worth it. And come on, when are you wrong?” Daring said, trying to cheer him up.

Commandos smirked as he got up, threw his rubbish in the bin then gave Daring a kiss then left.

“Oh hang on!” said Daring as she flew in front of him.

She pulled out a hat which looked a lot like hers and placed on Commandos’s head and then flew off

Commandos adjusted the hat and continued.
