Chapter 1: The Necklace
Load Full StoryNext Chapter"Twilight what's in that tree over there?" asked Rarity,
Rarity was a pony with purple perfectly curled mane. Her body color was white. Her eyes were the color of a clear blue sky. She was one of the elements of Harmony along with Twilight. Rarity was the element of generosity.
And Twilight was the Element of Magic. Twilight had a regular medium length haircut with bangs. The one thing that stood out about her hair was she had a pink and dark purple streak going down the middle of her hair and back. Twilight's body color was the same as her mane color.
Twilight and Rarity were on a morning stroll to help themselves be more awake Rarity and Twilight decided to go to the park and walk a few miles. They walked and admired the beautiful scenery of blooming trees. It was the beginning of spring. As they were walking Rarity noticed something shimmering in the trees. Rarity and Twilight decided to go check it out. They went to a tree that had just started to bloom and hanging above them was a necklace. "It looks like a diamond necklace!" gleamed Rarity, Rarity had a fond for beautiful things. Especially diamonds which is what the necklace Rarity found was made of.
It was a beautiful Crystal Diamond Snowflake. And it was dangling from a tree. Twilight reached up with her hooves to get it. Twilight almost caught it, but it fell to the ground with a PLOP!
Rarity shrieked, "Twilight you don't just knock it down like its plastic! Its fragile and could easily break! Oh that necklace would've looked great on one of my dresses!"
As usual Rarity worried more about detail to her dresses than a human being. Twilight was unamused by the way Rarity treated a necklace, she looked on the ground to see if the necklace wasn't broken. Low and behold the necklace was fine. It was still in perfect condition and there was not a scratch from the fall. "Oh thanks Celestia! I didn't want a beautiful necklace such as that to be ruined by a fall! Twilight you need to be more careful!" said Rarity, Picking it up she examined it closely looking at all the detail that was put into making the necklace.
Twilight was mad at Rarity even though from time to time Twilight was a klutz that didn't mean she couldn't handle priceless jewelry! Twilight could handle anything. She was after all the element of magic. She handled all those villains along with her friends and they turned out fine.
She just had to get used to the idea that she was a princess now. And that made her feel weird. She was different now. She had wings and a horn, not like Rarity who only had a horn. She was trying to get used to flying, but so far she always got hurt. Right now she felt like a klutz and it was going to be like that for a while. Or until she got better at flying.
Rarity picked up the necklace with her magic and examined it she thought Ooh! This would look great on one of my dresses for my next fashion show!
But then she looked at Twilight. Twilight was admiring the necklace that she was holding. This was the first time Rarity has seen Twilight admire a piece of jewelry. "Twilight why don't you keep the necklace?" Twilight was surprised. Rarity would have loved to use it in her next fashion show. Twilight smiled "Rarity I don't know what to say...."
"Think nothing of it Twilight! You keep it. It looks like you really like it and I could always find something else to use on my dresses for my next fashion show."
"Thanks Rarity! I know you probably wanted to use this for a dress, but that was very generous of you."
"You don't need to thank me! It was my pleasure! Now I need to show you how beautiful you look in that necklace! Let's go to my place so I can find you a perfect dress to accompany your new necklace!" Rarity made sure that Twilight was not suspicious of her behavior. She wanted to stall Twilight so that she wouldn't pay attention to the party that was secretly planned for her and with that Rarity and Twilight were of to Rarity's as they trotted along the grass Twilight's footprints started to leave snow in its place covering the ground.
Twilight did not notice this. She was paying more attention to the scenery around her than beneath her feet. She was noticing all the colorful buildings as she passed them by. She looked at Mr. and Mrs. Cakes Bakery and that made her hungry. She was in the mood for something sweet. To satisfy her sweet craving. Rarity noticed Twilight looking at the building. "Are you hungry? Would you like me to get you something Twilight?" She asked Twilight.
"Yeah I'm in the mood for a Pinkie Pie cupcake. Would you get me a batch please?" Twilight asked handing her some coins to pay for the cupcakes. She looked worried and shoved the money back into her bag.
"I'll pay for them you don't have to a pay a thing dear! I'll be right back with the cupcakes!" She said it rather quickly. I glanced at her and she smiled. Her smile looked more forced than kind. She clopped quickly into the store and Twilight sat at an outside table waiting for her to return.
Rarity quickly clopped at a pace that didn't make her look like it was obvious she was hiding something. She opened the door with her magic and went in. Pinkie Pie was starting to get the decorations set up. Applejack and Rainbow Dash were late to get to Mr. and Mrs. Cakes bakery.
Rainbow Dash quickly ran in along with Applejack. "Sorry I'm late!" They both said in unison. They took a moment to catch their breaths they were both sweating from running the whole way there.
"Have you forgotten how serious I take my parties?" Pinkie asked. Rainbow Dash and Applejack gulped at the same time knowing they were going to get a huge speech from Pinkie.
Rarity ignored them and went to see Mrs. Cake. She was at the front register checking to make sure she had her daily quota of money. "Hello Rarity! What can I do ya?" She asked.
"I need a quick batch of cupcakes. Twilight is waiting outside." Rarity averted her eyes to Twilight sitting outside at a table in the window.
Mrs. Cake Quickly went and brought out a batch of cupcakes. "Here you go sweetie its free of charge," She handed Rarity the six cupcakes. They were covered in pink whipped frosting with Pinkie Pies cutie mark made of fondant on top of them. "Make sure you stall Twilight for a while because were going to need it." She smiled and waved as Rarity left the building.
Rarity went to Twilight and set the cupcakes on the table. "Here you go," Rarity said Twilight used her magic to pick up the cupcake. It was covered in a pink aura. The cupcake was hovering in the air and Twilight moved the cupcake towards her mouth.
"Now that hits the spot!" Twilight said happily.
"Glad you enjoyed it." Rarity had herself a cupcake as well and they finished off the rest of the cupcakes. They headed towards Rarity's place.
