After her coronation ceremony, the newly-crowned Princess Celestia, was locked inside her bedroom, despite the hundreds of ponies waiting to congratulate the two mares who defeated the tyrant, Discord. The events of the past few weeks had gone by in a haze for her. She also didn’t feel all that well. Could it have been because of…?

No, it couldn’t be. To defeat a monster only to bear its child inside her, that would have to be like irony’s idea of a joke.

No, it would be Discord’s idea of a joke, a little pessimistic voice spoke to her. Celestia doesn’t consider herself a pessimistic person, and at that moment wished she could turn it to stone as well, because it was actually thinking more realistic than she herself was.

Anyway, she just needed to check to make sure.

For as long as she could remember, Discord had a crush on her, even back when she was a filly, though he was at least a hundred years older than she was. She shuddered at the idea that he had a pedophilia problem with her. At least he was responsible enough to wait until she was old enough, she’d give him that.

When she was only thirteen years old, her mother, Queen Faust, had run off to find some other world described in some old pony tale, and left her, Luna, and her father behind to fend for themselves. She had actually grown quite fond of her mother, since her father was more fond of Luna. Because of her mother’s leave of absence Equestria was weakened and was quite perfect for a successful hostile takeover.

And, indeed, it was taken over, by none other than Discord, a self-proclaimed god of chaos. His reign was quite possibly the most horrible time period to have been experienced by ponykind, since the winter caused by the Windigos (if one actually believed that legend). Taxes were at an all-time high, and farmers had to give four-fifths of their crops to him as tribute. Those who were unable to pay had to sell one of their family members to him into slavery.

That was actually how she ended up with him in the first place. After losing the title of being the royal family, the remaining three of her family were forced to become farmers. Unfortunately, one year, they lost most of their crops to a hot tea rain storm Discord caused, which turned the crops poisonous, and left her father bedridden for the duration of the harvest that didn’t happen. Discord specifically wanted Celestia to be sold to him instead of Luna, and her father was too weak at the time to argue. After saying her goodbyes to them, they left for Discord’s Palace, and on the way there, he told her what was in store for her:

“You are different from the rest of my slaves,” he told her, walking upside-down on air. “You see, I have a special purpose for you. I… Well, I’m not exactly sure how to say this, so I’ll just say it: I’ve loved you ever since you were a filly.”

She stopped in her tracks, her eyes widening with realization. So that’s why he wouldn’t accept her father’s offer for Luna. Has he been stalking me all of my life? she thought, suddenly very scared, and knowing perfectly well, that she didn’t even know who he was until he took over Equestria.

It seemed what he had planned for her was to have her be his love slave, although he phrased it as being his “goddess of chaos”. She had to admit to herself that being called a goddess did actually sound appealing, although she thought she could do without the chaos part of the title.

She had noticed his crown, which was made of an ugly-looking black metal with a grey stone in the middle, and asked him about it, more specifically what was it made of and why not gold.

“I didn’t make it myself, and I’m not entirely sure myself what metal it is. This crown and me go back to when I was only a child. I was part of this group, which we called the Elements of Discord. I was the Element of Chaos and the leader of that group. There were six of us. And these were given to us as a symbol of our unity.”

“Who were the others?” she asked him.

“I’m a trifle deaf in this ear. Speak a little louder next time.” This was one of his favorite jokes, which basically meant, answering your question would be telling too much.

In time, she realized that the way to get the best treatment from him would be to actually love him. She didn’t, but she pretended to, anyway. He actually fell for her pretending to, or at least it seemed that way. Maybe he was giving her credit for at least trying.

And then, when she was old enough, and it came to the love-making, it turned out that Discord had such strange, daresay “chaotic”, fetishes, which he had no problem whatsoever in experiencing. He would do such strange altercations to her body (as well as his own), such as giving her a second butt with no tail on her chest (he called them breasts, but she could clearly see her cutie mark on them), or switching her gender part with his and making her do him. Whenever she complained about this, he would simply say, “Hey, what do you expect when you’re in love with the god of chaos?”

Later on, she began to find that maybe she did love him after all. She asked him if they could be married. Discord, at first, was against the idea, knowing that to marry her, he would have to free her from enslavement first. He suspected that if he did that, she would use her new freedom to try to escape. In the end, he gave in, and was only a few hours away from her big day when, that night…

She was awoken from her sleep by her soon-to-be husband shaking her awake. At first she thought she was still dreaming, as he seemed to be acting weird saying that they needed to leave the palace immediately. Then she saw into his eyes and saw that he was panicking, and he never panicked about anything. He turned around and started shoving things into a bag.

“Okay, just so I can tell you about this dream when I wake up, what’s going on here?” she asked.

He stopped what he was doing and stared at her for a moment, as if to comment that this wasn’t a dream, but then thought better of it. “No time to explain. Besides, you don’t wanna know. Just know we need to leave tonight and as soon as possible.”

“Would it be easier to pack with some light?” she asked, reaching out to light a candle.

“DON’T LIGHT THAT!” he exclaimed, making her drop it. He paused. “I’m sorry, but if you light that they’ll find us.”

“Is the palace under attack, or something?”

“I’m afraid things are a bit worse than that.”

There were then hoofsteps coming up the tower stairs. Discord immediately snapped his talons and then the two of them were outside, running away. The funny thing is she didn’t see any soldiers outside the palace. It would be even stranger when she realized the next morning, he left his crown behind. Their marriage was cancelled that night.

They never went back to the palace, and now that she was outside of its boundaries, actually amongst its people, that she saw how bad things were for ponykind. Ponies starving, dying, getting badly burned by a hot tea rain cloud here, getting infected with the blue flu there. She couldn’t believe she had forgotten that, after being within those palace gates all the time.

It was during this time in which Celestia came across Luna again. Luckily Discord wasn’t around at the time, thus giving them a chance to talk. She found out from her that their father had died from the crop that had poisoned him within mere hours after she left them. Her sister was left without a home, having to sell the farm afterward, and had to resort to petty theft for food. Hearing her sister say all of this, she knew that Discord’s reign had to end.

Celestia and Luna had kept in contact, in secret, after they parted that day. Luna searched old archives for anything that could be used against Discord, and summoned her sister the moment she found out about a bit of ancient magic called the Elements of Harmony. The went deep into the Everfree forest, found the Tree of Harmony, gathered the elements and left to face Discord.

She had to restrain herself from bursting out into giggles when this happened. Here they were seriously going to turn her would-have-been husband to stone, and he was thinking that they were simply playing with him. He heard her call the gems the Elements of Harmony, and thought they were simply playing with him, possibly parodying that little gang of delinquents he was part of as a child. She just wished he knew how real the elements were before he was defeated. She would have wanted to see the look of horror on his face before he died.

Putting her attention back on the present, she went over to a vial of potion in which she made, not to consume, but instead a concoction to test whether or not she was, indeed, pregnant. She levitated a sewing needle, and poked herself with the tip to get blood on it. She then held it over the vial so that the blood would drop inside it.

The liquid turned from a clear liquid to a bright shade of pink. She tested positive.

Her jaw dropped and her eyes widened, looking at the pink substance like it just jumped out of vial and started doing ballet. Considering whose child she was pregnant with, she was almost surprised that it didn’t.

What am I going to do? she asked herself. How will this affect my ability to rule? What will my subjects think of me when they find out? What will they think of him? Will they treat him poorly because he’s different? Why am I thinking of it as a him? It could be a her couldn’t it?

For some reason she knew it would be a boy. And she knew her subjects could never know about him, Faust knows they’ll treat him wrong because of what he is.

She left her room, and went downstairs, knowing she at least needed to tell her sister the news.
