Chapter 5

The Fall

Applejack watched everything behind the rock she was hiding.

(Oh no, that’s cruel) she thought.

Then she watched beside the thrown of Sombra:

Twilight was lying there, helpless, tied and no magic she could use to do something.

She just watched sad at the ground.

(Poor Twilight, ah have ta’ help yer’)

Applejack started to run to the next rock where she could hide.

Now she was close enough to see King Sombra staying at the control pedestal and doing some settings at this horrible device.

All the pegasi inside the giant energy ball had a very sad and painful look at their faces.

Applejack took a closer look when she found Fluttershy.

(Oh mah’ gosh, don’t ya’ worry Fluttershy, soon you will be free)

Applejack shed one tear as she realized how bad this situation was.

If she couldn’t set them free they would die.

It badly hurts her thinking about such things.

She had to make some Plan on how she could help Twilight.

If Twilight could come free they had a better chance to free everypony but this wasn’t as easy as bucking some apples down a tree.

(Hmm, if ah want ta’ free twilight ah have ta’ get her free from that necklace) Applejack thought

The ropes Twilight was tied up where no problems for her.

But there was a padlock at the necklace so she has to find the key to open it.

“Hmmm”

Applejack took a closer look to find the place where the key was.

She found it after searching for two minutes.

There it was, at a wall.

But in front of it was one minion of king Sombra. The minion stared around like Sombra would kill him if he would close his eyes.

Applejack knew it was the only way to get Twilight free so she just started to create a plan out of the current situation.

She searched around to find something useful she could use when she saw that the handrail of the stairs were ropes.

“That’s it!”

Applejack scurried to the stairs and took the rope with her.

She started to walk down the stairs, as she reached the ground she started to hide herself behind some crates.

She was very close to the key and the minion who was watching over it.

Applejack took the rope and started to scurry as close as she could.

Then she started to swing the rope like a lasso and throw it towards the minion.

She had to cover his mouth so he could not call for help.

Success! Applejack ran towards the tied up minion and gave him a buck.

The minion was knocked out. To prevent the other ones to realise what happened she took him and laid him down behind some crates.

Now she could get the key.

She ran towards it and took it.

She scurried towards the throne, still hiding behind every box so no one could see her.

When she reached the throne she started to unlock the necklace and untie Twilight.

Twilight took up her head

“Applejack!”

Twilight was very happy to see her.

Applejack helped Twilight up.

“Ah would never leave mah’ friends in the lurch” Applejack said to her.

Twilight started to rub at her horn.

“I have to get this spell of” Twilight said.

“it can only be done by the one who casted the spell or by a princess” she said.

“But you are a princess!” Applejack looked at Twilight.

“Well, I don’t know if it works when I’m doing it on my own. I tried it before but it didn’t worked” Twilight looked deep into Applejacks eyes.

“Ah know you can do it Twi, ahm believin’ in ya!” Applejack looked into Twilights eyes.

“You’re right” Twilight said.

She started to perform some spell against the field around her horn.

It started to Glow and the field around it started to get unstable.

*Zap!*

Twilight successfully removed the ban from her horn.

“Applejack, you wait here while I will have a little talk with king Sombra.” Twilight told her.

“But Twi-” Applejack was interrupted by Twilight.

“Applejack, there are no excuses. I have to do this on my own” with this sentence she started to run towards the pedestal where Sombra was standing and controlling the big machine.

“Let them go or I will give you a lesson” Twilight shouted at him.

“How did you get free!?” Sombra bewildered looked at the purple unicorn standing in front of him.

“Wherever, you can’t stop me finishing my plan!”

With this sentence Sombra’s horn started to glow and a big flash hit Twilight.

She felt down and hit the ground but was standing up again and started to shoot at Sombra. They both started to collide their streams and fighting each other.

Applejack horrified watched everything what happened in front of her eyes.

She thought about Twilights warning. Twilight doesn’t want Applejack to come with her and help to fight against king Sombra.

But Twilight never said anything about helping the pegasi.

Applejack watched to the pedestal when she saw that Sombra had left it to fight against Twilight.

That was her chance. She started to run towards the pedestal.

When she arrived at it she started to watch at all the levers and switches.

There must be one that could turn off this cruel device.

Applejack pressed on some buttons when the device came to a stop.

All the pegasi inside started to groan caused by the stop.

King Sombra realised that the machine stopped working.

He groaned angrily, throwing Twilight away with one powerful shot.

When he turned around to see what has stopped the machine, he started to walk closer to the orange earth pony.

“You fool, what have you done”

His horn started to glow when he angrily looked at Applejack.

He let out one powerful shot that hit Applejack and brought her to the ground.

Twilight got up and started to scream when she saw Applejack lying there.

“No one treats my friends like this!” Twilight started to shot at him again.

Her Horn started to release more power than before.

The stream from Sombra was getting weaker and then it happened.

Twilight hit Sombra causing him to hit the ground. It seemed that he was K.O.

Twilight started to run towards Applejack holding one of her hooves to Applejack to help her up.

“Are you ok?” Twilight asked her with a worried look.

“Ah think so” Applejack answered.

They both started to run to the pedestal and looked at the switches.

When Applejack found one big switch lever with the description ‘Energy field’ she started to run towards it.

She did one big buck to turn the switch down.

Suddenly a loud sound filled the underground dome.

The energy field started to disappear when all the pegasi started to fly out of the dome.

Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash started flying down to the ground beside Applejack and Twilight.

“Thank you so much” Fluttershy started to cry when hugged her.

Everypony was free now and they had their friends back.

Twilight started to think about how much their friends meant to her.

“Whaaah!”

Suddenly they turned around saw that King Sombra got up and caught Rainbow Dash.

“Dashie!” They started to scream.

Twilight lost no single second and turned to Sombra, her horn glowing.

“Don’t come any closer or she gets hurt” king Sombra said when he saw Twilight ready to fight him.

Twilight’s horn suddenly stopped glowing. She didn’t want Dashie to get hurt.

“So you like your friend, huh?” Sombra started to laugh evil.

He started to tie her up and walk towards his thrown.

He laid Rainbow Dash down and brought some device from behind his thrown.

“Now your friend here will pay for what you’ve done”

Sombra took the device that looked like a harness and started to wear it on rainbow Dash’s Body.

He strapped the belts of the harness and plugged the cable into a Device beside his thrown.

Then Sombra turned the device on.

Thy cyan Pegasus started to groan painfully.

“Nooooo!” Twilight started to scream.

The device seemed to suck out the energy of Rainbow Dash.

Dashie’s eyelids started to fall closer.

She could feel how her body got weaker and weaker.

Twilight started to perform some spell.

Her eyes started to glow white and she seemed to hover over the ground.

Then it happened: Twilight fired one big white stream at king Sombra and everything went white.

“Noooooooo!”

King Sombra painfully screamed inside of the white light.

Then the white light stopped.

Twilight felt down to the ground as she realised that she has defeated king Sombra.

Applejack started to run to the device and turned it off.

Twilight and Fluttershy followed Applejack.

Rainbow Dash was lying there.

She tried to stay awake but then her eyelids completely closed and everything went black.
