Demons
Exterminated (Blizzard)
Load Full StoryNext ChapterLast night had been awful, on Blizzard Wing's standards. When he last saw Bright Blaze, she was sitting on the middle of the floor, crying her eyes out. Was there something he did? Most likely not, but there is a possibility. It was only 27 hours later that he had the courage to ask her. When he knocked on the door, the only response was an angry yell.
"DON'T COME IN! GO AWAY!"
Yep, Blaze was at it again. But this time, she sounded more heartbroken than hilarious. She was a very overdramatic pony to start with, but only awful news can really get her into situations like this. He knocked on the door five times, so she knew it was him.
"I- I can't talk right now. I just, can't Blizzard." Her voice was much softer this time, now that she knew it was Blizzard. Even though the unicorn and pegasus weren't related, they treated each other like siblings. After all, they were both raised by changelings since they were born. And neither of them knew their parents.
It was only after fifteen minutes that Blaze opened the splintery excuse for a door and let Blizzard in. She had stopped crying on her bed, but her eyes were still red from her long scene.
"Oh, I'm sooooo sorry, Blizzard. I really am, but... I couldn't take it. At all." She said to him. Take what? He thought.
"What happened in the first place?" Blizzard asked her. Blaze just hung her head down and started speaking.
"I was going through the Great Hall, when I saw the queen barking at some changeling carrying a stack of papers. He quickly scrambled off, and in the process, dropped a couple of papers. When Chrysalis left, I snuck over to that spot, and looked at the strange papers." She swallowed hard, and began talking again. "They had pictures attached to them. It was of two couples, with their own newborn. But the thing is, the foals looked exactly like US. I was excited for a moment, until I saw later that on the bottom, there was a large red stamp that said, 'exterminated.' It was awful, never knowing who your parents were, and then seeing a file that said they were dead." This was most likely the hardest thing for Blaze to take in, especially since she always dreamt of meeting her real parents one day.
"It's okay, as long as we're safe. That's all that matters." Blizzard said to the orange mare. She didn't say anything, just nodded and turned back to her bed. It had been a long night for both of them, and they needed all the rest for what could be waiting for them tomorrow.
