A view of a green and blue planet suddenly appeared, dark clouds and flashes of light were also in view. A storm was on the peaceful planet that was Equis, and darker things were brewing under that soup of lightning, thunder, and water.
Suddenly, a island comes into view, showing the island of Neigherland. A group of humans with ponchos were running across the mud, and the youngest, a man, had a box in his hands. He looked to be around twenty five, and he had glasses that looked like they were older than our time.
A group of men pass him as he cleaned his glasses, all of them were carrying a firearm, contrasting the young man from the group.
"Let's go! Let's go!" A commanding voice blared, walking right next to the man. The Sargent put his hand on the younger man's shoulder, making him jump a little, frightened.
"Sargent, you'll men will need these." He said in a shaky voice, as he lifted some crosses made from wood.
The Sargent gave a knowing smirk. "Are you a man of Celestia?"
The younger man sighed, and glared weakly at the Sargent. "Yes, but I hardly see the point--"
Suddenly, the Sargent handed him a M9, smirking still. "You'll need on of these."
The wind howled, causing them to move. The rain was ice cold, trying to claw into the men's skins.
"I don't see why Neitler would send a team of Nazi scientists to this dump. There's nothing here but rocks and sheep."
"Ruins! Not rocks! And there's a line between our world and another-a fabric or clothe if you will. They're trying to tear open the fabric and bring something from the other side to turn the tide of the war!"
"I don't see why, Starswirl! It's hopeless to-"
They took cover behind a ill, and looked over to see a strange machine and many Nazi scientists working on it.
"What in Sam's Hell...?" The Sargent muttered under his breath.
"They must be here for the sheep." Starswirl remarked sarcastically, causing the Sargent and a nerdy looking soldier to look at him.
Suddenly, a strange being, wearing armor and a hat on his helmet walked out, his hands behind his back.
Starswirl zoomed in with the telescope the Sargent handed him.
"Neitler's top assassin! This must be bigger than I thought." Starswirl muttered to himself.
A bald man walked with a young woman, the woman carrying a umbrella for the both of them. The man had an animal skin cloak, and the woman wore a regular Nazi military wear.
"You don't have to do this." She said, giving the man a pleading look.
"My love, I have to. Neitler doesn't accept failure." The man then kissed her forehead, and smiled. "Use this-" He hands her a book. -"to find me if I don't make it."
He then hugs her briefly, and stepped out from under the umbrella. Lightning lit the sky, and thunder boomed in the distance.
As he steps a few yards from the machine, the Equestrian army troops ready their weapons.
"Today! I will prove that Neitler shall win this war!" The bald man yelled as some scientists attached a strange device onto his arm.
The large machine started to spin, mechanical clicks and whirring sounds filled the air. The assassin watched on, silent as ever. A blue ball formed in the middle, and then, to the Nazi's, the portal seemed to suck the sound out.
The portal then expanded, and a nearby light started to shake. It then flew into the portal. As it went to the other side, sound stopped. The flood light kept going, heedless of directing or speed.
Suddenly, a large crystallized astriod appeared, slowly rotating.
The light bounced off some shards before settling. It's light gleamed on one spot. The spot moved, and a large eyeball appeared, it's pupil focusing on the painfully bright intruder.
Back to the group, a scientist heard something nearby.
The Sargent pulled the pin on a grenade, and quickly tossed it over. The grenade landed and hit the masked scientist's foot.
"GRENADA!" The scientists yelled in panic before it exploded. His leg was blown off, along with most of his arm. The remaining body was filled with shrapnel.
The scientist beside him was caught in the shock wave, shrapnel and fire hitting his body, killing him instantly.
The Equestrian soldiers ran from their hiding spots, fire and metal poured from their weapons. A few unsuspecting soldiers barely had time to look before solid lead impacted their bodies.
Soldiers ran to and fro, weapon fire and yells of the wounded our dying filled the air.
The assassin pulled his tonga like blades out. He walked towards a soldier, made a quick movement with both of his arms. The soldier fell dead, his arm and a few ribs were sliced off.
Starswirl cowered on the ground, his fear evident before the battle began.
A nearby Nazi soldier was blown back by a blast of a grenade. He hit the blue ball of plasma that was the portal, before his skin, weapons, armor, and finally bones were melted into nothingness.
Starswirl got up, only to be shot in the leg. It grazed his leg, but pain shoots through his nerves and hits his brain like a freight train, causing him to cry out in pain. The cry alerted something that was far deadlier than a bullet; the Assassin.
The Assassin walked slowly towards Starswirl, before the Sargent stood in front of Starswirl.
"This is for Equestria, you son of a bitch!" The Sargent said, pulling his pistol out, and firing it at the Assassin's chest.
The bullets were deflected off of the Assassin's chest. The Assassin, although wore a helmet, seemed to give a unamused expression, before slashing the sword against the Sargent's chest. The Sargent fell back, injured, but alive.
Starswirl spotted a grenade nearby, and crawled to it. He then grabbed it, pulled the pin, and threw it. The Assassin gave a frightened expression, then ran towards the grenade; on the other side of the machine.
He put his arm through the small space, trying to get the grenade without cutting his arm off with the fast moving blades.
The grenade then exploded, making the Assassin fly backwards into a pillar, before a pipe impaled him.
A few sounds, like a clock ticking, filled the air, and he looked down, the clicking sounds stopped. The grenade that had been thrown at the portal had done untold damage to the machine, making it spin out of control.
The man with the strange device attach to his arm screamed in pain as his eyes flew into the portal. The man screamed again, and he was pulled in by the portal, which now was a forth of it's size. His waist was almost pulled in, his back bending back in an unnatural way, and a few snaps were heard, making him scream, before being bent in half and pulled into the portal, making the ball of plasma disappear.
The Equestrian soldiers watched the whole thing, some even feeling bad for their enemy. They then lifted their arms and cheered, rain pouring off of their helmets and armor.
"We did it!" The nerdy looking soldier cheered, helping his Sargent up.
"No...we didn't." Starswirl said, getting up, a sharp stoning sensation filled his leg. It felt like ten bees had stung him in the same spot at the same time. He then said through the pain, "The portal was open for far too long. Something may have crossed over. Have your men search the camp."
Starswirl then walked into a strange building, about as tall as a motor home, but there was a coffin inside. He sat down, and pulled out a piece of clothe, and tying it around the wound, hissing through his teeth slightly.
The nerdy soldier looked around the ruin, staring at strange inscriptions on the wall.
"Hey, aren't these Dovah?" The soldier asked, seeing some strange markings on the wall.
Starswirl looked at the inscriptions, then said through gritted teeth, "Kosiir do hokzii. Yes, it's Dragon language."
Suddenly, a blur passed by, making the soldier put his weapon up. He shivered, looking over the coffin like ruin to see a...statue.
He lowered his weapon, his fast breathing becoming steady. Suddenly, the purple blur passed by again, making the soldier fire to shots, the creature making a screech as it jumped on a ledge. He pointed his gun at the creature, showing it was...purple?
"What the Tatarus is that?" The soldier asked, his light pointing at the creature. It gave a scare screech, moving a stone that was shaped like a claw.
"Lower the light, you're scaring it." Starswirl said, putting his hand on the soldier's gun, lowering it. Starswirl gained an idea, and quickly pulled out a long bar of chocolate. On the top, it said "FILLY RUTH". He opened it, and took a bite, making over exaggerated happy sounds. He held it out to the creature, making it give a chirp. It moved it's stone away, soldiers pouring in, aiming their weapons at the creature. He made a motion that made the soldiers lower their weapons.
"What in Celestia's beard is that on his hand?" The Sargent asked, staring at the dragon like creature.
"I think that is his hand." Starswirl said, stepping back in surprise as the creature used it's purple stone like arm to grab it, devouring the sweet candy in a few seconds. A burp resounded, and the creature wiped it's mouth. "Someone get me a blanket." Starswirl said, a soldier jogging away. The soldier looked to where the Assassin was impaled, only to see a metal tube, but no body.
He came back, giving Starswirl the blanket. Starswirl grabbed another Filly Ruth out and waved it near the blanket, making the creature's emerald eyes trail it. "Come on!" Starswirl said in a fatherly voice.
The creature kept into the blanket, Starswirl holding him like a father would to a child.
"It's a boy." Starswirl said, making some soldiers sigh.
"It's just a baby boy." The nerdy soldier said.
Later, in the morning, the group of soldiers were huddled together, all doing a pose. The nerdy soldier held a camera, pointing some soldiers into a proper point. Starswirl looked down at the young, purple and green dragon, making the baby Drake smile. A soldier held a bayonet near his head, a cross attached to the blade, hanging over the young drake's head.
Later that day, the soldiers named the young dragon like creature. It may've not been an appropriate name, but it stuck anyway. They called him...
Starswirl smiled, and muttered, "Spike."
The picture was then taken, a flash blinded the soldiers for a moment. The photo developed, showing them with the young dragon. The moment was immortalized, forever bound to their memories and this paper.
