The King of Dragons

Spike sighed a he sat in Applejacks house nursing a black eye after getting into a fight with Rumble and his little gang of idiots.

It had been a month since he and Derpy got together and he was the proud soon to be father of a child. Spike couldn't get the grin off his face for a week. Things had their up and down like all relationships do, he fought with his mares and they ended up making up.

He had proposed to Derpy presenting her with a golden colored gem that he dug up himself with Rarity's help. It took him nearly three days of searching but they finally found one.

After that his mares had been very supportive of the two and Pinkie had thrown a party for them in honor of the baby and engagement. Twilight and Celestia had been there along with the rest of his family patting him on the back and congradulating him and Derpy.

Dinky had been excited hearing the news but she had already known since the two had kept her up all night with their loving making that day. She couldn't wait for her new step brother to come into the world and spoil the baby.

She was a little jealous of her mother since she was his first along with the other girls but their happiness out weighted their jealousy.

"Hey sugarcube you ok?" Spike looked up to see Granny Smith walk in with Big Mac carrying a bag of ice handing it over to him as he put it on his eyes letting out a hiss.

"Yes ma'am, I'm fine." He stated as Applejack marched in glaring at him but she could see how worried she was.

"You ain't fine Spike, you got jumped by a bunch of hoofball players!" She growled as he gave a small smile to her.

"AJ, I'm fine really. Trust me my guards hit a lot harder then a couple of teenage hoofball players." He reminded getting a sigh from her as she came and sat beside him leaning into her dragon.

"You had me really worried there sugarcube comin in like that." She said as the dragoness behind him snorted.

"It wouldn't have happened if he had let me step in." Akhe snarled at her king who looked back at her with a smile.

"Now Akhe you should know that I have to fight some of my own battles. I can't have you and the others always jumping in for me. Besides Rumble and his friends got tought a lesson they will never forget." He smirked getting a nod from her.

"Indeed they won't." She said wrapping her arms around her king letting out a sigh.

"You have no idea how hard it was not to disobey you." She stated as he sighed and pulled her in deeper for a hug.

"I'm sorry but I had to teach them that I didn't need to count on my guards to win a fight for me. But I'm sorry that you had to watch." He said nuzzling the dragoness before she pulled out of his embrace feeling almost cold after leaving him.

(Flashback)

Spike smiled as he pulled away from Derpy after staying the last few days with her just taking care of her as much as he could, and maybe being a little overprotective of her. She had forbidden him from going to the doctor with her after he nearly tore one of the male doctors in half for touching her, even if he was just checking on the baby.

"So what are you doing tomorrow love?" She asked as he smiled rubbing her stomach.

"I'm going to go over to a friends house in the Everfree." He replied pulling her into another kiss.

"Love you Spike." She said leaning back into him as Dinky came down the stairs.

"Hey Spike!" She said grabbing his face and pulling it back over the couch they were on and into a lip lock as her mother attacked his neck making him moan before she pulled back with a pop.

"Hey Dinky. Where are you off to?" He asked looking at her outfit, she was dressed in jeans and a hoodie with her mane pulled back in a bun and had a backpack on her back.

"I'm going to head over to hang out with Sweetie Belle and the others at her place tonight. Are you staying over?" She asked while he shook his head.

"Nah, not tonight. I'm gonna be heading over to AJ's and stay with her tonight since she wants to have some time alone with me." He winked making her blush as he looked back at Derpy.

"I love you Derpy and I'll see you when I get back in a couple of days." He said picking the mare up and setting her on the couch.

"Now don't strain yourself to hard and make sure you get plenty of rest." He instructed.

"Spike, you do know that you're dating my daughter right?" She smiled as he rolled his eyes.

"Yeah I know. But you're carrying my first kid so I can't help being a little protective." He said while she cocked a eyebrow.

"A little?" She giggled as he sighed but smiled.

"I know, I know but can you blame me?" He asked as he pulled him down into a kiss.

"No, I can't. I think it's very sweet of you Spike. Now go on and walk Dinky to her friends." She ordered as he gave a stiff salute making both the mares chuckle.

"Come on Spike." Dinky said grabbing his hand draging him out of the house.

"See you when I get back!" He called over his shoulder as she waved from the couch.

"HAVE FUN!" She called back before the door closed.

Dinky sighed as she leaned into Spike walking through the cold autum night towards Sweetie Belles house.

"So what are you gonna name the baby when she gets here?" Dinky asked as he hummed in thought.

"Don't know really, your mom and me haven't really talked about it yet. As far as I know it'll be the first hybrid between a dragon and pony in the last few thousand years." He stated getting a nod from her.

"So when are you and mom gonna get married?" She asked looking up at him seeing his smile.

"I want one in spring but I think that she might want one in winter. Don't know yet we haven't decided on a day yet. To tell you the truth I never really saw my life ending up like this." He said wrapping a arm around her shoulder while she wrapped her's around his waist.

"I'm glad it did though. I'm proud of you Spike, after my dad left mom I never really thought mom would ever date again. But then you came back and I've never seen mom so happy before." She said leaning into him as his warmth washed over her.

"Thanks Dinky, that really means a lot coming from you." He said watching a big smile cross her face as they neared the beautqe.

"Ok, I'll see you when you get back from the rock farm. Have fun at AJ's Spike." She said pulling him into a passionate kiss while he let his claws run down her back cupping her butt and picked her up while her legs wrapped around him deeping the kiss.

Dinky moaned as she felt him nibble on her lip before she opened her mouth letting him dominate her claiming her as his as she melted into him.

"Ahem." The two broke their kiss and looked over to see Sweetie Belle smilling at them.

"You two can do that on your own time, it's girls night tonight." She said as she stepped to the side as Spike walked in still holding his mare.

"Oh well let me just get out of your way then." He chuckled setting her down while she walked him to the door.

"I'll see you later Dinky." He said bending down giving her a quick kiss before he started to pull away only for her to grab his shirt pulling him into a heated kiss as he pulled back backing out of the house while the two smiled giving each other quick pecks as they talked.

"I have to go, AJ's waiting on me."

"I'm not stopping you."

"You kinda are."

Kiss.

"I don't see you complaining."

Kiss.

"Bye Spike!" Sweetie said pulling Dinky away and closing the door hearing her sigh.

"Honestly." He heard making him chuckle before heading down the road towards the farm.

"I have to say my lord, you really are something." Akhe giggled walking with her arm around his waist.

The two had gotten really close over the last month and a half. Just hanging out or sparing when his mares were busy and they just seemed to bond closer than his other guards did.

"Thanks Akhe. Hey could you do me a favor and let AJ know that I'm on my way?" He asked getting a nod from her.

"Sure, be back in a flash." She smiled taking to the skys while he continued to walk.

He had just gotten to the dirt road leading to AJ's when he saw a bunch of stallions from Dinky's school come out of the woods surrounding him with pipes and large sticks.

"Can I help you guys?" He asked as he saw Rumble with his two stooges walk in behind them.

"Hey Spike, listen I let you have your little fantcy with my mare long enough. I think me and my friends are gonna have to teach you some manners." Rumble smirked while the other stallions laughed.

"Oh so you couldn't face me like a stallion so you had to go and get you buddies to come and help you. Tell you what I won't say anything to Dinky if you all just walk away right now." Spike's eyes became sharp and his body tensed while he got into the Flaming Fist style he learned from his grandfather figure.

"Shut up! I don't need them to fight you." He growled while Spike smirked.

"Then put your money where your mouth is and grow a pair." Spike snapped as the young stallion shot towards him throwing a sloppy punch that hit Spike right in the face.

Spike was surprised by his speed as he turned to see the stallion smiling like he had already won.

"My turn." He voice was low sending a shiver down all of their spines before Spike twisted his body giving a snap kick the stallions leg watching him crumple to the ground with a scream.

"What that it? You're weak. You think you can stop someone like me from taking what they want and protecting Dinky? You stupid idiot, you had her friendship but you just threw it all away from a stupid crush that would never see the light of day." Spike snarled baring his fangs while his eyes went to slits staring down at his prey.

Akhe saw the fight after happen and as she was about to aid her king until she saw his fangs bared and froze.

This was a fight between males and she would only get in the way and insult Spikes honor if she did. So she watched and waited for the outcome as the rest of the hoofball team charged him.

Spike ducked the first bat that was swung at his head before driving his fist into the stallions back hearing him scream as he turned catching a stick and crushed it before his fist found the next stallions face making him fall back screaming.

Spike turned ducking another stallions fist and spun giving a powerful straight into his chest making him fly back into some of his buddies as the dragon turned using his tail to smack some of them away that tried to charge him from behind.

He turned catching a fist in his claw glaring at the stallion before crushing it in his hand making him fall back screaming in pain.

Spike felt turned and back handed another stallion hearing the crack of his jaw breaking when he ducked a lead pipe from Snips. Spike looked up him as the stallion looked up at him in fear at the calm look on Spikes face before everything went black.

Spike felt some stupid stallion try to grab him in a bear hug making him roll his eyes and jumped back knocking whoever it was off balance before landing on him hearing a muffled scream.

The dragon turned swinging his fist connecting with another boys face watching him fly off his hooves and into one a group of his friends that were trying to get up.

"This is it? One dragon and you lot can't even touch me." Spike growled as he watched a few run as he turned grabbing a hoof that was aimed for his side spotting that it was Rumble as he leveled a glare at him.

"Idiot." He growled as he crushed the bone in his shin hearing him scream in pain as Spike dropped him on the ground.

"From here on, I'll be serious." He said and disappeared while the screams of stallions rang through the air.

It wasn't long as he saw the stallions running carrying their friends that couldn't as Akhe landed beside him.

"You let him hit you." She said with her arms crossed not amused as he turned to her seriously.

"I did. Are you going to fault me for defending myself?" He asked as she looked at him and smiled.

"No, I'm proud of you my king. Just wish you would have let me joined is all." She pouted as he threw a arm over her.

"Maybe next time dear." He smiled getting one from her.

"I'll hold you to that Spike." She said nudging his side as they walked the rest of the way to Applejacks.

(End Flashback)

"Ah got to tell you Spike, I'm proud of ya." Big Mac said making Spike smile.

"Thanks Big Mac. That means a lot to me." He said as the stallion smiled.

"Alright younguns lets head on up to bed, Spike you have to get up early and work." The old mare said getting a nod from Applejack and Spike.

"See y'all in the mornin." She called back as Spike followed her up to her room until he turned and headed for the showers.

"I'll be there in a minute Applejack, I got wash up first." He stated heading into the shower as she went to her room.

It wasn't long until he came out with a pair of Big Mac's PJ bottoms on.

"Hey Apple-" He stopped looking at the sleeping mare making him smile shaking his head before climbing into bed with her wrapping his arm around her and pulling her close to him. He felt her scoot back to him letting out a sigh.

"Night Spike." She yawned wrapping her arm around his as he buried his face in her neck.

"Night AJ." He sighed as the two fell fast asleep.

Morning came to early for the young dragon while he felt feather light kisses on the back of his neck making him roll over and pull Applejack closer to him hearing her giggled.

"Come on sugarcube we got to get to work." She sighed while she ran her hands over his chest.

"Do we have to?" He asked feeling her push him on his back and straddle his waist.

"Yes we do sugarcube." She moaned as he ran his claws up her back and back down cupping her butt giving hit a good squeeze making her smirk at him.

"You know Big Mac does owe me a few favors." She waggled her eyebrows while she ground into him making him gasp.

"Don't start something you can't finish AJ, you'll release the beast in me." He smirked feeling her hands run up his chest before she kissed him.

"AJ! SPIKE! BREAKFAST!!!" They heard Granny Smith yell from downstairs making the two sigh.

"We'll pick this up later." She squeaked when he pinched her butt making her growl.

"Tease." She glared at his smirk before he pinched her again making her yelp. Before he knew what happened the two were laughing and wrestling with the other in a tangle of sheets and limbs before he had her pinned with her hands above her.

"Alright you got me Spike." She said her voice trembling hoping he wouldn't do what he usually did while he leaned down nipping her nipple through her bra making her moan and arch into him.

"Stop teasin sugarcube." She whimpered as he nipped and kissed his way up her body hearing her start to pant before he pulled back with a grin on his face while he looked down at the panting mare.

"Don't you do it Spike, ah mean it!" She growled as he got up and made at quick exit leaving the panting mare.

"DAMNIT SPIKE!!!" She screamed as he smiled back at the door while he made his way for breakfast where Granny Smith was beaming.

"You got her again didn't sugarcube?" She asked as he chuckled nodding.

"I just need something quick granny." He stated hearing AJ making her way down the stairs while the old mare tossed him a apple fritter watching him take off out the door to begin to start his work out in the fields.

A few hours later Spike was working the east field while the other apples worked the the southern fields finishing up the harvest before winter came.

As he finished the last of his load and he was blind sided by a red blur digging a trench to the front gate.

"The hell?!" He growled till he saw the red dragon smirking above him.

"What's up hatchling, its been a while." He said holding out his claw as Spike grinned.

"Garble! What's going on drake!" Spike yelled grabbing his claw as he was pulled to his feet smiling at his old enemy.

"You know building my horde and seeing the ladies." He smirked slugging Spike in the shoulder playfully as Spike laughed.

"I didn't expect you till later today." Spike smiled bumping his fist with his friend.

"Yeah but I didn't have anything else to do so I decided to come by earlier." He said throwing a arm over Spike.

"So are you done with work or you still on the clock?" He asked as Spike chuckled throwing his arm over his.

"Nah, I'm done now. Just let me go talk to my mare." He stated getting a nod from him.

"Sure dude, do your thing I'll be here." Garble shrugged looking around while Spike pulled back and headed to find AJ.

After a while Spike came back with a smile and motioned for the other dragon to follow him as they took flight.

"So what do you want to do dude?" Garble asked as they flew.

"Well, I was thinking one seeing if your weak ass actually got any better after our last match." Spike suggest as Garble smirked and nodded.

"I'm gonna beat you this time Spike." Garble challenged as the two flew towards his sparing valley.

Rarity sighed as she walked through the town heading for Twilight's tree for some of the alicorns tea. She just had a hard breakup with Thunderlane after seeing him making out with a mare that he told her nothing about. After she confronted him about it he blew her off and said he was meaning to call it off for weeks.

"Stupid stallions." She growled as she glared at a few before she walked into Twilight's library and froze seeing the mare with a depressed look on her face.

"Twilight?" Rarity called to her friend making her look up and sigh.

"Hey Rarity." She groaned and let her head hit the table with a loud twack making Rarity wince.

"Darling are you ok?" She asked getting another groan.

"Flash dumped me through a damn letter today." She sighed looking down at her tea as Rarity rushed up to her friend.

"Oh darling I'm so sorry." She cooed as the mare waved her off.

"It's better this way. He's all the way in the empire and I'm here, you know what they say about long distance relationships." She smiled before she saw the ruined makeup on her friends face.

"Rarity what's wrong?" Twilight asked as the mare smiled.

"Thunderlane and I broke it off as well after a very heated argument today when I found him cheating on me." She sighed as her friend wrapped her in a hug.

"Oh Rarity, I'm so sorry." Twilight said squeezing her friend.

"Why don't I make a fresh pot of tea." Twilight offered while Rarity nodded.

"That would be lovely dear." She stated as the door was kicked open and a pissed off looking Rainbow Dash stormed in.

"TWILIGHT! I NEED YOUR TEA!!!" She yelled before she spotted Rarity and blinked.

"Hey Rares, what are you doing here?" She asked floating over to her friend who smiled at her.

"Soarin?" She asked getting a growl from the mare catching sight of Twilight who had three cups and a kettle on a tray for them.

"Soarin?" Twilight asked getting a nod from Dash as she grabbed a cup and downed it in one go.

"Yeah, stupid jerk was just using me to brag to his stupid friends while he and Spitfire started to date without me knowing so we could break it off! But no! I just had to catch him with his friend bragging about how easy I was for a lay!" She yelled before pouring another cup and downed it.

"So I guess we're all single again." Twilight sighed as Dash looked at the two.

"I'm sorry guys I didn't mean to throw my problems in your faces." She sighed plopping down in a chair.

"It's fine darling, so what are we going to do now?" Dash asked as Twilight shrugged.

" I don't know but I think dating is off the schedule for me for a while." She grumbled as the other two girls nodded as the door was kicked open yet again and Pinkie stood at the door with a hand on her hip and she was pointing at them.

"PINKIE IS HERE!" She yelled making them smile.

"Hey Pinkie." Dash waved as the mare grinned and walked up to them.

"I declare that we have a girls night out!" She commanded as the others looked a little less enthusiastic.

"I don't know darling, I'm not feeling in the mood to go out tonight." She said as Pinkie looked at her like she was dumb before smiling.

"Not tonight silly filly, I mean around this weekend. Just us girls so we can have some fun." She suggested as they thought about it before nodding.

"Sure I could get away for a little while." Dash agreed while the others nodded.

"GREAT! Now I have to go tell Spike my plans and let the others know." She replied and bounced out the room while the others laughed a little.

"We can always count on Pinkie to make us smile." Twilight stated while the other girls nodded in agreement.

"I wonder where she will be taking us." Rarity asked.

Spike sighed as he felt his wounds healing while he relaxed in one of the lava pools near dragon mountain.

"Got to say, you're lucky I agreed that not to use my martial arts and stuck with just brawling." He said as the dragon across from him chuckled.

"I knew I had a chance if I handicapped you enough." Garble smiled panting a little.

"So when do you go back?" Spike asked as Garble groaned sinking into the pool.

"I'll be leaving in a few hours actually, the girl I'm with right now is wanting me home for dinner tonight." He stated getting a nod from him. Garble groaned getting up out of the lava pool and stretching popping his back and turned to Spike who was just getting out.

"I got to get going dude, I'll see you when I see you." Garble stated pulling on his clothes before taking flight while Spike waved goodbye to his friend.

"Later dude."
