(That morning)

Spike woke up before any of them and looked over at Dinky who had shifted in her sleep and was now facing him breathing softly with her arm wrapped around him.

He smiled and eased himself out of her grip and headed downstairs to start breakfast.

Dinky moaned as she felt around for her dragon but when she couldn't find him she grumbled and opened her eyes to see he had indeed left. She rubbed her eyes and got up heading down to the kitchen to see her mother drinking a cup of coffee.

"Good morning muffin." She said spotting her daughter as Spike came around the small island with a plate with toast.

"Morning Dinky." Spike said handing her a plate as she stared at him in shock but smiled at him taking the plate.

"Thanks Spike and good morning." She said and started to show down on her breakfast.

After a while Derpy had left for work after giving Spike a kiss promising to find some time to see him again.

Spike looked back at Dinky who was in a pair of jeans and a tank top that showed her stomach as she walked up to him.

"Come on Spike." She said taking his hand as he nodded locking the door and following the mare down the road where they met up with the former crusaders.

"Well hello Spike." Scootlaloo said flying up to him as he heard a low growl from Dinky.

"Hey Scoots, long time no see." He said as she smiled.

"I'd say, where have you been?" She asked as he told them briefly about his disappearance leaving out that he was royalty.

"Wow that's crazy! So what are your plans now?" She asked as he shrugged.

"Just live my life I guess. I'm heading over to Appleblooms place to help AJ with the farm." He said.

"What are you doing after that?" She asked as the girls waited for his answer.

"Hm, well I don't have really anything else planned but I was just thinking of taking Dinky on a date." He said looking over at the blushing mare and smiled getting a small one in return.

"WHAT!?" The crusaders yelled making him jump and turn to them.

"Yeah me and Dinky are going out, she asked me out yesterday. So I think I'm gonna take her out for the day after I pick her up from school today." He said as they gawked at Dinky who took his hand and leaned into him with a small smile on her face.

"No way! Dinky scored with you!?" Scootaloo asked in disbelief as he nodded taking his hand from hers and wrapping it around her.

"Yep." He replied.

"Why is that so surprising?" Dinky asked glaring a little at Scootaloo.

"It's just that we thought you would be to shy to ask somepony like Spike out." Sweetie Belle spoke up.

"Besides, Spike's always been after Sweetie's sister we just didn't think that he would be after anypony his age." Applebloom said as they walked inside the school yard.

"Well as you can see we are together, and to prove it." He said and bent down wrapping his arm around her and pulled her into a searing kiss as her arms wrapped around his neck while she deepened the kiss before they pulled back needing air.

"I'll see you later Dinky." He said winking at the panting mare and took flight headed towards the farm.

Dinky was in a haze as her three friends stared at her slack jawed as a goofy grin spread over her face.

"Wow." She whispered before the bell ringing snapping her out of her daze before rushing into the school as a certain mare glared at her.

(Hours later)

Dinky sighed as she closed her locker after her friends badgered her for details on Spike. She started to head to her next class when she saw Rumble coming towards her making her sigh. He had been bugging her for a while now for her to date him but she just didn't like him like that and only saw him as a friend.

"Hey Rumble." She said as the young stallion marched up to her.

"What the hell Dinky?" He asked as she groaned, it seemed that word really did pass quickly around the school.

"What Rumble, if you're pissed that I'm dating somepony save it. I told you I don't see you like that. Get that through your thick skull." She growled making him blink before he narrowed his eyes.

"So it is true, who is he. I'll show him that only a real stallion can date you." He growled as she started to say something before she got an idea.

"Tell you what, you think you're more of a stallion than mine is? Come meet him after school when he comes and picks me up." She said as he smirked.

"Done deal and once you see how much of a wuss he is you'll have to go on a date with me." He said as she rolled her eyes.

"I don't HAVE to do anything with you Rumble. But I think you'll be real surprised who my stallion is." She said pushing past him and headed to her next class.

"I'll make you mine Dinky you'll see." He growled under his breath watching her go down the hallway.

(Sweet Apple Acres)

Spike hefted another two large apple basket over his shoulder and headed for the apple cellar. Applejack had put him to work straight away in the east fields with her while Big Mac worked the west fields.

As he went down the cellar and put the baskets down he wiped his brow from the hard work he had been doing all day with the Apples. Big Mac had been really surprised when he saw Spike since he wasn't at the party when he got back.

The two had talked a little bit before AJ and shooed them off to work. It was now 3:30 pm and he was about to tell AJ that he was going to head over to pick up Dinky and take her out for a date when all the lights went out in the cellar.

"Ugh. Better fix that real quick before I head out." He mumbled to himself as he looked around heading to the cellar door which he was pretty sure he left open incase something like this happened.

"AJ? You ok?" He asked as the mare moved towards him.

"Hey Spike, where are you?" She asked feeling around as he walked up to her taking her hand that was outstretched.

"Right here. I was just about to come find you when this happened." He said holding her hand as he guided them to the cellar door until he felt her stop.

"AJ?" He turned to see the mare was looking down like she was trying to come to a decision over something.

"Hey Spike, we've known each other for a long time now right?" She asked out of the blue as he raised a eyebrow.

"Yeah, I would say that we have, 15 years if my math is right. Why what's up?" He asked as she squeezed his hand.

"Ah know that you got a lot on your plate right now, what with mares and politics and all. But ah was wonderin if ya'll were interested in havin dinner with me in a few days from now?" She asked as he looked at her in shock.

You're a hard worker and always have been and are loyal to a fault when it comes to your loved ones." She said taking his other hand as she looked up at him almost pleading.

"Ah want that in my life Spike, ah NEED that in my life. Ah want a family one day Spike and when Ah look at you Ah can see myself with you and some kids living happily together on a farm raisin them. Ah don't care about the others mares in your life cause ah know that you'll take care of all of us and loves us all the more. Please Spike, ah don't want to be alone no more." She said her voice giving out in the end as she waited for his answer.

Applejack sighed as she fell back against the wall and slid down with a silly look on her face.

"Spike listen, Rumble has been causing me trouble for a while now and when he found out that I was dating somepony he flipped and started to talk about he was gonna show you that only a real stallion could have me. So I told him to tell you that if he felt so strongly about it." She said as he growled.

"Well if he shows up I'll be sure to show how much more of a dragon I am than he'll ever be." He said as she looked down.

"I've been telling him for years that I don't see him like that but he won't listen to me and keep telling ponies that we're together, I don't want you to hurt him Spike just scare him is all. He's still my friend, even if he is a idiot."She said as he nodded.

"As long as he doesn't try anything then nothing will happen to him." He said when he saw the young stallion walk out with Snips and Snails behind him marching up to them.

"Well where's your stallion?" Rumble asked Dinky with a cocky smirk

"I'm not a stallion Rumble, I think you can see that. So what's this about showing my mare what it is to be a stallion? Cause I'm pretty sure I can show you what it is to be a dragon." Spike growled leaning down to be face to face with Rumble who looked at him wide eyed.

"S-S-Spike! When did you get back into town?" Rumble stuttered looking up at the very intimidating dragon as he stood to his full height.

"Almost 2 weeks ago. So are you gonna answer my question?" He asked as the three started to shake seeing the smoke coming from his nose, like he would roast them if they said the wrong thing.

"I just wanted to make sure that Dinky had somepony that could look after her is all." He said as Spike grunted crossing his arms.

"As you can see she's in very capable claws. Don't let me catch you hounding her anymore about this Rumble, I mean it." He said picking up a large rock and holding it to his face.

"Or me and you are going to have some problems." He growled crushing it with ease.

"Understand?" He asked as the young stallion nodded before leaving.

"Thanks Spike." Dinky said as he smiled back at her.

"Hey no problem, now my mare. Allow me to take you home." He said offering his arm as she giggled.

"Yes, please." She stated looping her arm with his.

"Well, well, well. Looks like I was right and Dinky couldn't find a stallion that would date her sorry ass." The couple spun around with Spike looking like he was ready to kill whoever just insulted his mare.

"Fuck you Diamond, I don't need a stallion. I have something better." Dinky shot back as the mare looked shocked for a minute that she even said anything.

"I don't know why he would waste his time with you when he could something much better." Diamond Tiara smirked striking a pose as she winked at Spike who flinched.

"Please, Spike doesn't like loose mares that only drop them once she's gotten what she's wanted." Dinky snarled as Silver Spoon stepped back while Diamond growled.

"Why don't you let him decide, I think he knows who's better." She stated giving Spike a lustful gaze while he smiled.

"Oh I do, come on Dinky. You got homework and then we can go on our date."He smiled as the mare gave a victorious smirk back at Diamond flipping her off as she walked down the road with Spike.

Spike sighed as he and Dinky relaxed after a great dinner and catching up, the couple could be found in the park just relaxing and being with each other.

"Don't be dumb, I know that you have to have more mares to take as your wife. Just don't get to many that you don't know what to do with ok? You're going to have to take care of all of us Spike so you have to be prepared to turn some away." She stated looking up at him as he nodded.

"You're right, I know. I don't think I'm going to take on to many more. I can't imagine how all of your heats are going to be." He laughed only to get a elbow to the gut.

"Please, you're going to love every second of it. You'll be sore but you'll love it." She winked making him blush.

"Tease."

"Maybe." They laughed before falling into silence as the sun started to set.

"Come on Dinky, I'll take you home." He stated and got up scooping the mare in his arms before taking flight getting a squeal from Dinky.

As they arrived back at her house Derpy was just landing with a tired look on her face before she spotted the two coming in making her smile.

(Derpy's house)
