My life in Equestria
Chapter the first

It was a nice summer afternoon where I was (I say that cause I forget where I was), and I was napping in the sun behind my house. This was normal routine, at least until Spencer, my brother, told me to come back in. Considering I’m older, I should be ordering him around. But it’s not what I do. Anyhow, I was just relaxing as normal, until a sudden rainstorm came out of nowhere, and I wasn’t a fan of getting rained on, so I went in. Spencer and Jay, my other younger brothers (Actually, I’m only older than them now. Jay’s birthday is in may, and Spencer was born in august), were in the attic, going through all the old junk we had. So I thought I’d join then, for boredoms sake.
This story is told from multiple points of view, so I put this line here to show the transition. (Spencer’s point of view)
“Why do we have so much crap up here anyways?” I said. We honestly kept EVERYTHING we had. “Cause it could be USEFUL, Spence. Even though most of it’s broken.” Jay replied. He was holding up a half of a cartwheel, which I didn’t think we had. “Where’d that come from?” I asked. “Tahiti.” He said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes. We were only up here because the door to the attic broke under the weight of the stuff in here. Which is not good considering the ladder was attached to it. We had a hell of a time getting up here, and god knows how we’ll get this stuff down, but we’ll manage. “HEY, look at this!” Jay had just pulled out our grandfather’s sword. “I forgot we had this thing! Now I just need a way to…”
“We aren’t gonna use it, stupid. One, it’s old. Two, it’s dangerous. And three, you’ve never wielded a sword before. How are you gonna use it?”
“…..well, crap…I’ll teach myself that’s hOW!” Jay made a shallow cut across his leg swinging the sword around. “Nice going, dumbass. You’ve proven two of my points. Now put the thing down!” He’s not always this stupid, but he does have his moments. “Well that’s Jay for you. Dumb as a rock and hollow as a shell!” I turned around. Colin was standing behind me, laughing at Jay’s idiocy. “Aw, shut up and help us!” Jay yelled. “Yes, King Dunce. Right away!” I laughed at this one. Jay was a good sport, and was chuckling at this as well. “Anyways, what have I missed other than Jay cutting himself open?” Just then, there was a loud clang outside, thoroughly startling us. “The crap was that?” Jay asked. “I dunno, but I’ll see.” Colin rushed downstairs, and considering the ladder was out, that was an impressive feat. Then again, he never failed to amaze us with
the stuff he did, like hold off a band of muggers with a half broken baseball bat.
I ran downstairs, careful not to make too much noise so whatever was making the noise couldn’t hear that it was noticed. I got to the front yard, and the trash can was knocked over. I was about to go back inside after assuming whatever it was left, until I heard crying behind it. I crept towards it, and looking over the can I saw ( I had to pinch myself to see if I was awake, which I was) a cyan pony with rainbow colored hair. (Don’t ask me how that fits together) I knew that it PROBLY wouldn’t come with me if I asked. Long story short, it’s a good thing Jay always forgets to put things away. I picked up the shovel, and, making my way back, gave the pony a solid THWACK to the head.
“I’m going to hell for that.” I said after making sure that it was unconscious. I carried it back to the house, and set it on the couch. “So, did you find what made the noise or was it go-WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!” Jay had walked in and saw the creature. “A pony. DUH!”
“Do ponies have wings?” I just now noticed this. The pony had two feathery wings at its sides. “Then it’s a Pegasus. I don’t see what’s….oh wait, aren’t they supposed to not exist?”
“How are you not surprised by this?” Jay asked. Although this wasn’t the first time I thought something unnatural was normal, like with the ghost, he was still surprised that I wasn’t as freaked as him. “Well get Spencer. He’s the one who seems to know about everything.”
“Too late.” Spencer walked in, a lot more calm than Jay was. “Why is there a Pegasus on the couch, and unconscious at that?” I explained how I had found it, and knocked it out with the shovel. “Wow. You know you’re…”
“Going to hell, I know. But I’m sure it wouldn’t have agreed to come with me, even if we were going to help it.” I said. “Help it?! You’re not suggesting we help it back to wherever, are we? That would be the WORST possible course of action! Why not call animal control?”
“Aaaaand the prize for idiot of the year goes to….JAY! What the hell would animal control do? Put it in a shelter?” Spencer seemed stupefied that Jay would even suggest that. “Nah. They’ll probably kill it. Or put it in a zoo. Either or.” Jay was right. It would probably be sent to a zoo so kids could throw peanuts at it. “I think it’s waking up.” I looked at the pony and, sure enough, it seemed like it was stirring. “Should we leave and let it wake up?”
“No, that’s stupid. It’ll probably run off. It has to stay here until we figure out why it’s here, or at least where it came from.”
“Ugh…where am I?” The Pegasus was conscious now, but the impact of the shovel must have knocked up it’s brain. “Hey, you alright? We found you outside.” Spencer said. I think he was trying not to be too tense, in case this thing was not willing to talk, but instead try to kill us. It just sat there for a few seconds, staring at us. “WAH!!!” All three of us jumped as it screamed and rocketed away from us, and into the wall, making a small crater. “Uh….was that actually necessary?”
“Jay, you are SUCH a moron.” I said walking over to the creature. It hugged the wall, almost looking like it thought it was the end. “You ok? That looked like it hurt.”
“I-I’m fine.” It said. Judging from the voice, it was a female. “Well, that’s impressive. You can run into walls really fast, and it doesn’t hurt?” Jay now seemed interested with her rather than wanting to get rid of her. “Any who, we don’t know your name. You do have one, right?”
“M-my name is R-rainbow Dash.” She said. “Fitting, considering your mane. And you can stop stuttering and shying away from me. We aren’t going to hurt you.” That seemed to calm her down a bit. “Where are you from?” I asked. Maybe we could help with this part. “Equestria. Have you ever heard of it?” Silence. “Um…ok. Equestria. Never heard of it. Maybe if you tell us how you got here, we could help you return.”
“Well, I was sent to investigate a really weird storm, being on the weather team and all. It looked like a tornado, but skinnier and taller. I got sucked into it, and it put me here.” Spencer’s eyes widened. “Did the storm happen to be multicolored?” An unusual question, but we were unusual people. “Yes. It was.” Rainbow Dash seemed a bit hopeful at this. “It was an interuniversal vortex. They appear every one million years, in two random universes. They act as portals, sending things to both universes from the other. That must be why you’re here.” Again, Spencer is educated in pretty much everything, but this amazed both us and Dash. “How do you learn about these things?” Jay asked. I had to agree there. “Since you never read I guess you won’t know this stuff.”
I had no idea you could find a book about universal storms. I should try that sometime. But, helping Rainbow Dash came first, whether I liked it or not. “Wait…the storm here came out of nowhere! Maybe the interuniversal storm is around here!”
“Really?!” Rainbow seemed overjoyed. “’Coarse,” Colin said, “we just have to find it, get you in it, and BANG! You’re home! That is how it works, right Spence?” That seemed like a long shot, but it probably was true. “Yes, it should work like that.”
“We’re spared the trouble of finding it, because IT”S OUTSIDE!” I was looking out the window, and no sooner than the conversation finished, the storm was (very fortunately) coming down the street. “Well we better get moving then!” Colin said, jumping towards the door. It was still about a few hundred yards away, but the wind was still really strong. That’s why it was stupid that we were standing outside, all four of us. Spencer said something, but I couldn’t hear him. Suddenly, the storm seemed to launch itself at us, catching us in the swirling wind. The last thing I thought before I lost consciousness was: Well, at least Dash is getting home. Even if we’re going too.
Since I’m using this for school, I need a moral. And that is that you should always help people, no matter what crap happens to you.
RD: Well? Aren’t you going to tell the rest of the story?
Me: Patience, Dash. It’s a long story, and I’m going to need multiple chapters to tell it.
RD: Then when are you going to tell the second chapter?
Me: I don’t know. It will be done though
