My life in Equestria
The Devil Herself
Previous ChapterChapter 7: The Devil Herself
Vinyl looked at us with a sorrowful look. “That’s horrible…” We had just told her the story of our life, from our parents deaths,
to our lives on the streets, to arriving in Equestria. “Yeah, our life was crap until recently.” I said. I took a bit of effort to
restrain myself from crying after having to talk about it again, but it worked. “So, the reason you asked me to be your sister is
because you need somepony to take their place?” If I had fists, they would be clenched. But that tension evaporated quickly.
She was family now, and until she was ready, I would not fight her like I do Jay. “No. I don’t know why, but it just feels right to
have you as a sister.” Vinyl chuckled. “If you’re going to go all philosopher on me, I WILL cover my ears and repeat the word
‘blah’ over and over again.”
“Well, if you two are done bonding, we’re here.” Jay was right. We had made it back to where we started this new life, Sweet
Apple Acres. A board that read “Sibling Stand-off” was pegged on the front lawn, with four events listed. They were:
Egg toss
Rodeo
Strength Contest
Agility Contest
Tag Race
We walked over to a little yellow filly with a big red bow, who was signing ponies up for the competition. Vinyl smirked and
trotted briskly over to her, then looked back at us. “Well boys, let’s win this thing!”

“Wow, we were BAD at that.”
“You can say that again.”
Not being used to pony bodies, me and Jay came in sixth place in every event. At least we weren’t the worst out of twelve
teams. We were walking through Ponyville square, nearing the library. “Well, I bet Spence is here now, so we can introduce
you to him.” Jay said. He opened the door and we all walked in. Spencer was there all right, but there was someone else,
too. Sitting on one of the chairs rested a human with blue, anime style hair, a yellow shirt, and a pair of faded blue jeans.
Vinyl gasped, alerting him of our presence. What happened next, she never would have expected.
“Jay!”
“Ryan!” Jay ran up and hugged him, Ryan returning it. “It’s been too long! Why haven’t you come to see us sooner, you
prick?” Ryan laughed. “You mean here, or on Earth?” The two practically dancer around together, leaving a very confused
mare right next to me. “Who…I…what the buck just happened?!” Spencer walked over to us. “So, this is the new addition,
huh? Nice to meet you, I’m Spencer.”
“Uh huh. Now can you explain this to me?” Spencer chuckled. “Well, you didn’t tell her we were humans, Colin?” I laughed.
“No, not yet. But she knows now!” Vinyl shook herself out of her trance. “You mean all three of you used to look like that?!”
She pointed a hoof at Ryan. “Yup.” Was the only response I gave her. Ryan and Jay finished celebrating. “Hey, Vinyl! I want
you to meet our brother, Ryan! How did you get here anyways?”
"Well, I-” His sentence was cut off by someone entering the room from the kitchen and saying “OK, guys, soups up!” Jay’s
and my jaws dropped. Standing in the doorway was the single most terrifying thing to ever exist. She had flowing amber hair,
wore a jean jacket with a sky blue shirt underneath, and a pair of black sweats. She stood there, looking like the
embodiment of the devil. The only things that came out of our mouths was a scream.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!”
We dashed towards the door hoping to escape, but we were caught in a field of orange magic. The girl flicked her finger
towards her, surrounded by the same glow, making us float over to her. “Is that any way to treat your younger sister?”
“But you hit us.” Jay whimpered. “A lot.” I added. She ‘tsk’ed at us. “Only because you two are idiots so much. The glow
around her hand vanished, and we hit the floor. “Please don’t kill us.” We begged. She giggled. “Why? From what Spence
told me, you two were helping a pony by the name of ‘Rainbow Dash’ get home. I don’t see a reason to kill you two for that.”
We let out relived breaths. She wasn’t going to maim us! “Ok, I still have no idea what’s going on here!” Vinyl yelled. The girl
looked over to her. “Oh, sorry, my name is Amber. I’m these two knucklehead’s sister. Nice to meet you, miss…”
“Vinyl, Vinyl Scratch.” She said. “Why are those two afraid of you?” She smiled. “Because I’m the only one who can beat
them up without consequence.” Vinyl backed away a little. “O…K…then.”
“Don’t worry, I’m not just going to go around hitting people.” Vinyl looked really uneasy. “Uh, yeah, about that…”
“What?”
“Would you kill them if they had, oh, I don’t know, made me their sister?” Amber looked confused. “Depends. Would you
have asked them anyways?” Vinyl had a look of relief on her face. “Yup.”
“Well then, I guess they’re lucky, aren’t they?” Me and Jay poked our heads over the couch we had hidden behind. “Thank
god she would have asked, or we would be in lots of-” Amber grabbed us both by the necks and threw us out the window.
“But I still have to kill you two FOR NOT WAITING FOR ME!!!” Spencer sighed. “Guess we won’t see them for the next week,
then.”
“Yup.” Ryan said. “Let’s hope that she doesn’t find them.”
“I pray to Celestia she doesn’t.” Vinyl added. Twilight walked out of the kitchen. “I heard screaming! Is everypony OK?” Ryan
and Spencer nodded. “Eeyup.” Vinyl facehoofed.
