The closing ceremony that was held by Princess Cadence had ended, and Pinkie Pie's obligatory after-party party had all been wrapped up. All of the creatures, ponies, griffons, and such, involved in the games had headed off to rest for another day. Spike had volunteered to help clean the mess and fix the luggage of the Mane 6, thus staying behind. However, just as he was about to head off, he had been called for an impromptu meeting with the Princess of the Sun herself. He then receives news that frankly doesn't make sense to him, and now must prove himself to the leader his worth.

He must prove that he, in fact, can sing in tune.

If not, well...off to the Moon...
