Second Chance

“Sure, I love that, Second Chance” when those words leave Twilight lips, I felt like the luckiest stallion alive, then I heard a rustle from a nearby bush, only to found Nyx, Spike, and to my surprise, Rarity hiding in it.

“Way to kill the mood guys, I mean, Spike and Nyx are to be expected, but Rarity? What the hay are you doing there?” I asked, at least, the white mare appears to be embarrassed. Twilight, meanwhile was scolding Nyx and Spike on eavesdropping on other ponies conversations.

Anyhow, the town went back to its monotone life, at least for three or four days, when Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon do the prank of the Everfree forest to Nyx, the little brats came after class to the library, asking for Nyx, Twilight, without remembering allows the little alicorn in disguise to go out, however, when the children are alone, they give Nyx a map with a “nice location” deep in the forest, and the little black alicorn went to investigate on her own, when we were advised thanks to Applebloom and Sweetie Belle, our little filly was already lost deep in the Everfree, with some coaxing from Twilight (it is funny seeing the rage shift in the show, in real life, it is something else) the snooty bullies confess their crime, and we with our friends went to the forest, I already know that Nyx was in the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters, but it has to be Twilight who has to found Nyx, after a huge magical surge, she went ahead and then returns with the filly passed out for exhaustion on her back.

After returning to the library and saying our farewells and thanking our friends, Twilight has one of her famous breakdowns.

“Chance, I can't do this,” she began, looking straight at me, tears on her eyes “I-I mean, SHE is Nightmare Moon, she told me that she had remembered something when she has her surge, and they are the memories when we fight her with our friends.”

“So?” my answer to her statement only was answered with a deafening silence, when I turn around I found Twilight with a shocked expression on her face.

“SO… SO? YOU CAN ONLY SAY SO? ARE YOU KIDDING ME, SECOND CHANCE?” Twilight yells to me, her right eye twitching.

“First off, Twilight I need you to calm down” I said with a stern face, Twilight then inhale, putting her left front hoof on his chest, and began to slowly move it away while exhaling, meanwhile I approach to her, and embracing her in a hug, I continue “Now, I want that you tell me why you have picked up Nyx and you didn’t tell Celestia about her.”

“I-I-I don’t know okay?” she says, sobbing in my arms, “w-when I found her, she was so scared, so vulnerable, trapped in that bush, I-I suspected of her, but when I looked in her eyes, that expression of fear and helpless, I can bring myself to do anything that means that I could hurt her.” She begins to wail, hugging me tightly.

“Calm. Down. Twilight” I said very slowly, punctuating every word with a light tap on the unicorns backside, “what you are now experimenting is a very normal thing, it is called being a mom, I bet that Nyx called you her mother when you two were in the ruins.”

“A-Actually she just say that here, before I tucked her to bed twenty minutes ago” the mare says, hiccupping and pouting a little.

God, if you are out there, don’t kill me of cuteness overdose I think internally my new marefriend looking at me with those huge, watered eyes, now, getting back to the problem at hand…

“Twilight that is normal, you are feeling insecure because you have BONDED with a beautiful, intelligent and very caring little filly, who she has been, it is in her past, and she said that she don’t remember everything, does she?” I asked.

“W-well no but…” before she finishes, however, I gently put my hoof on her mouth, silencing her.

“You see? She hasn’t changed, and I can tell you… no, I KNOW that that little filly is going to do great things in her future, with the proper guidance.” Before any of us could say anything else, a frantic set of knocks on the door interrupt us.

“I’ll go to get that, go and try to calm yourself”, I said, walking to the door, she smiles at me, and with a sexy sway of her hips (or something that she thoughts is sexy, I guess), she goes into the kitchen.

When I open the door, however, I need all my self-control for not jumping in and strangle the pink menace known as Diamond Tiara, who was with her parents in the front door (okay, strangling somepony with hooves will be a high task, but well I need to try.)

“What do you want?” I asked rudely to the ponies gathered in the mat outside of the library.

“I am sorry for arriving here so late, sir, but we need to talk with Twilight Sparkle, if you could fetch her, we will be grateful," the brown stallion says, bowing.

“Sure, wait here for a moment” I answer, then ducking my head into the library, I half yelled “Twi? There are some ponies waiting for you.”

“Ok I’ll be there in a moment” she reappears from the kitchen, then she approach to the door.

“That’s her daddy” The little brat says, pointing a hoof at Twilight. If I want to strangle the pink filly, the look on Twilight face was something else, however she and Affluent, Diamond’s mother, began to fight about which filly has to be punished for the stunt in the forest, also, when Affluent begins to pull out ranks, Twilight clearly states that, if the little menace again goes after Nyx, becoming potted plants was the less of their concerns, however, when they aren’t looking, I pulled up my Duel Disk and put a card on it. After a solid bang, that announced the leave of the unpleasant visit, I came back into the common room, and spike was on the stairs.

“Whoa, Twilight,” Spike said from the back of the library. He had heard the argument and had come to investigate what was going on. “I’ve never heard you pull rank like that, using your position as Princess Celestia’s student to threaten somepony.”

Whatever Twilight was going to reply was lost, when a bloodcurdling scream was heard outside the library.

“AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE”

Twilight jumps in the air, running towards the door and opening it and letting us see all the rich family running as if a monster was on her tails, sort of.

“Smart mule”, Twilight turns around, giving me a peck on the cheek, “but that’s why I love you."
