Second Chance

“Somepony has kidnapped Twilight, I need to write to Princess Celestia immediately!”

As soon as those words leave spike’s mouth, I already know what was about to happen, so as calmly as I could, I tell him that he need to go and gather all the others, as soon as he leaves, I pull out a “cyber jar” from my other cards.

Hope that this works I thought as I put the card on the duel disk, as soon as I activate it, the familiar white jar appears next to me.

“If I understand correctly, in the latest yu gi oh arc V,  I can use the cards as impromptu tools in the duels", I muttered to myself, "so Cyber Jar, go to the Forest near here and help me to search for an purple unicorn” I ordered hesitantly."

For a time, I stand there, looking as an idiot to the tridimensional monster card, and finally sighing I was ready to pull it off the duel disk when it scans a near photo and zooms out of the room, a little flabbergasted, I look at the out and see it flying through a cloud and then, the machine was covered with it, hiding, after that a sudden beep in my duel disk makes me to lose attention on the now "real" machine and look at my duel disk, wich now was doing an aerial footage of the little town of Ponyville.

“Ok, now I know that in arc V you can use the cards for real, but this is awesome” I said aloud, "so, let’s check the range of my new surveillance team." Pulling another “Cyber jar” I summoned it again, this one gaining a yellowish finish on the metal.

“You, fly as far as you can and save the information about the distance in the duel disk please” the machine emitted a beep and go out and above the library, as soon as it aligns with myself as a point of reference, the machine began to fly in the general direction of Canterlot, meanwhile i see a marker with the direction that that "Cyber Jar" had taken, and also a meter counter on the duel disk, I left the device alone, in the meanwhile, I make myself useful gathering cards that I could use for other purposes and doing a “Toolkit deck” as I called it.

After 10 or 15 minutes, the duel disk emits another beeping sound, ejecting the second Cyber Jar, when I check the machine, the counter has stopped about 5km out, not a good range, but if I can build an emitter, this could be the new era in transportation in Equestria.

Storing my new deck in one of the pockets of the vest, and checking on the disk regularly, I soon find the first cyber jar flying above the canopy of the jungle, and also searching for any disturbance in the forest, soon, it began to show me a very elaborated magical scheme on the floor, and a lot of ponies with capes finishing the impromptu ritual that will bring Nightmare Moon back to the land of the living ponies.

“What are you doing?” the sudden voice near my ear makes me jump in the air, my duel disk clattering in the floor and shutting down, and the “Cyber Jar” card falling out the disk, cursing internally, I turned around slowly to see a beaming Pinkie Pie, with a very confused Applejack poking the device in the floor.

“HEY, hoofs off!” I almost shout to the farmer, when she turned around, however, the concerned face that she had because the kidnapping of Twilight makes me want that somepony hits me in the back of the head hard.

Turning around again, I find that Spike already was back, with all the mane 6 in tow, all of them concerned about the welfare of the purple librarian.

“Sorry Applejack,” I muttered, “I know that it is hard now, but don’t worry, Twilight will be fine” I say to her, trying my best to reassure the mare.

“Ah know, sugarcube” she says, “still, ah am worry about her, why somepony wants to kidnap Twi?”

“I also am wondering the same, Applejack” says a regal voice behind all of us, oh holy fuck, I forgot about Celestia… and what I am going to explain to her… I am so screwed, I thought internally, again facing the door and founding the solar alicorn staring right back at me.

“Uhh… hello” I ventured, wondering why she wasn’t surprised about a male alicorn in Equestria, anyhow, before I can say something else, Zecora came from the edge of the town, breathing heavily, she stares wide eyed at me and at Celestia, and quickly she bows.

“Good evening my friend, maybe I am a godsend,

Because this evening, some news I bring,

Concerning a purple mare kidnaped, I have seen where she is trapped.”

“So, you know where they have taken Twilight, Zecora?” I asked the zebra, eyeing Celestia suspiciously, but the regal alicorn ignored me, also staring at the shaman.

“Yes indeed, I have seen,

A great number of ponies, camping where they please,

In the great forest better known as the Everfree.”

“Thank you for your information, my little Zebra, the royal guard will be summoned to the town, meanwhile, I want to talk to this pony” Celestia says, looking at me, then turning around looking at the other ponies gathered in Twilights home “alone, if possible.”

Not knowing what to do, I turned around only to find all the ponies in the room almost galloping to the exit, Rarity dragging Spike along, then, with a solid hit, the door was closed, leaving me in the room with a very stern looking alicorn trying to bore a hole in my head with her piercing glare.

“Ok, now that we are alone, what are you playing at, Michael?” she asked me, and suddenly I felt very frightened.

Celestia knows who I am, and maybe she knows all the things that I have in my possession.

I am thinking seriously if alicorn like myself are truly immortal, because old good Celly is pretty mad at me for some reason.

“So, I don't want to ask it again: What is your game, Michael?” Celestia ask me again, looking at me, cocking one eyebrow.

“Truly a master of the regal things no, Celestia” I answer her, doing a cocky grin, but grimacing internally, “anyhow I am not here for you, but for your student.”

“Oh, is that so? Please, explain” she states coldly, “and why, if I can ask, are you behind my student?”

“Ok, I am assuming that you already know why I am here” I began, “anyhow, the truth is, I have died in my old homeworld, and I don’t have any regrets from it, but here, I can help Twilight and the others, also I know what’s going to happen in a foreseeable future, so I want to be here helping the best that I can, also I can assure you, nothing bad is going to happen" I told the solar princess "However, in the future, you need to listen to your student, and if you do, a lot of problems will be avoided, anyhow, you aren’t needed somewhere else?” I asked her, also ushing her out of the treebrary.

“Right, I am going to save my student, Second Chance” she said, again using my pony name, “but after that, we both are going to have a very long chat about that future that you say you have seen.” Then, I hear a lot of wing beating, and when we both go outside, at least thirty royal guards where out, awaiting orders from their ruler.

“Captain Iron Hoof, how are your troops?” Celestia ask to somepony in the guard, then, a royal guard version of Bulk Biceps came trotting along, when he came out, however, all the guards do a salute and rearranged themselves in two lines.

“All the squads are ready, your highness” The captain states, “When we were flying through the Everfree, we see an unusual pattern of clouds in the forest, anyhow, we are waiting for your orders.”

“Good, we are going to the forest, also, miss Zecora?” the goddess of the sun turned around to address the Zebra, “if you would be so kind, can you guide our land troops there” receiving an affirmative nod, Celestia spread her wings and took flight in the night, all the pegasai on the ground doing the same.

“Tonight, we fly” and then they were off.

“Cool” I say, looking as they went off to the forest.

“Dude, you tell the princess what to do about Twilight” Spike suddenly says, confirming that he was listening through the door, “you are nuts, you know.”

"he did WHAT?" All the other mares shrieked at me.

“Oh buck, when Ol' sunbutt come's back, she is going to kill me” I groan.

After a while, all the mane six went to their own homes, making Spike and I promise to look after them whenever we got news about Twilight, after half an hour, I have been growing extremely bored, so I went to the lower bookshelf and picked up a book for foals tutoring in magic “The magic little guide for colts and fillies” by Magical Grasp, and I begin to read.

“Hey Chance, you actually can’t do magic?” the purple lizard states, stifling a laughter.

“Yeah, laugh it up smart ass” I replied, “but I need to improve my magic if I want to help around here.”

“I don’t know, why you don’t ask help from Twilight?” the small dragon says, looking at me with one of those 'are-you-serious' looks, before I could answer him however, the door opened and a exausted, pale, but otherwise okay purple unicorn came through it, with a bandage in one of her forelegs.

“Twilight! What the hay happened?” Spike asked her, fretting around the purple unicorn, after Twilight, Princess Celestia came in, noticing that maybe they want some time alone, I went to the guest room near the kitchen of the house, after a while, when I go back to the common room, the solar diarch was ready to leave, also,  I was able to catch her last words to her student.

“… and please be really careful, and don’t go out alone” the princess was saying, taking her maternal side out, I think, anyhow, she looked at me, and then she turned around and say something into Twilights ear, making the small librarian turn a deeply shade of red, before shouting a “WHAT” and Celestia exiting the door chuckling quietly.

“What was that all about?” I asked innocently to Twilight

“Nothinggottagotosleeptotiredgoodnight” Twilight says to me, anyhow, before I could say something else, she bolted upstairs, Spike and I trading a confused stare.

“Mares” we said at the same time, then, bidding each other goodnight, I went to my now designated room to catch some Z’s.

The next morning begun early, as Fluttershy came by to check on Twilight, then half the town came by to see if she needs something, in the meanwhile I was silently comparing the town with all the fandom and the canon from our world, so I effectively found one big difference, ponies usually wear clothes, nothing to fancy, as the ones on Canterlot, but usually I see the stallions and colts with headgear (bandanas, hats, baseball caps and the like) vests and something like a handcuffs in all four hooves, and the mares usually have a vest and also a plain little skirt that ends up above the cutie mark, so the “nude” concept of the pony world was in its majority mistaken.

Anyhow, all the peace and quiet ended suddenly like at 3 p.m. After Rarity passes by to check on the purple librarian, Twilight founds that she had lost her saddlebag with a copy of a book called “Geographic Guide of Equestria” and she begin to do one of her famous breakdowns, meanwhile I have been setting up my computer in the room she gave me, when suddenly I hear an slamming door, when I come to the common room I found Spike trying (and failing) to be composed.

“Sup lizard boy, what happened” I asked him, amused

“That crazy mare, she went off to the Everfree one day after she was kidnapped, if Princess Celestia founds out, I am a dead dragon” he answers me, a little panicked at the end.

“Don’t worry, ill check out on her” I tell him, getting out my duel disk, at his uncertainly expression, I rolled my eyes, and again I summoned the “Cyber Jar”

“Whoa, that is so cool” Spike says to me, impressed, poking the little machine floating in mid air.

“Cyber Jar, go find this mare” I said, pointing to one photo in the main library room, after the mech goes out, I faced Spike, “I’ll go after it, so take care of the library, and don’t overdo it”

After a while, I was on the edge of the Everfree, the Cyber Jar floating next to me, beeping and indicating to me that it doesn’t have found the mare in the town, frowning a little and checking on the weather, my mood sulks when I see that there was a huge storm brewing in the horizon.

“Again, why I am doing this” I mused, and finally I enter the forest, when the rain starts, I found Twilight running to the exit, mud and grime up to her fetlocks, and a little black pony on her back.

“Twilight, good, I find you, who is the little one?” I asked, and she almost jumps into me, looking at me if I were a demon or something of the sort.

“Holy Celestia, don’t do that!” she snapped at me, “why are you out here?” she asked then, tilting her head to one side, seeing this, the little pony on twilights back stirred, and craning her neck above the librarian, she look straight at me… with those catlike turquoise eyes, I almost have a heart attack with the display of cuteness, but then, she stared wide eyed and try to hide behind the mane of the older pony.

“I found her in a bush, and maybe you don’t want to believe this, but I think…” Twilight begin, only for me to interrupt her.

“I know, you think that she is Nightmare Moon” I finished for her, looking at her straight in the eyes, at the same time, a lightning and the sound of thunder echoes through the forest.
