Second Chance

“And how do you know about Nightmare Moon?” Twilight again asked me, clearly annoyed, after all, that cute pout and those amazing, purple eyes...

'Wait, I just thought that' I chided myself, gaining some composture, (and hiding my blush the best I could on a white fur) I move my hoof trying to show her all the area.

“Please, we can have this talk in other place, I don’t know, maybe in a dry one” I quipped back, annoyed by the rain, again, my last memory was one of raining in a gray city from the floor and in lots of pain. Actually, now I could remember figments from my last moments on my planet, and the girl that I saved fanning over me, concern clear in her voice, but right now, I can only remember her face in a blur, however, her rosy eyes was the only thing that I could recall before waking up in the Everfree.

“Ok, but I want all the information” Twilight curtly said to me with a smug smile, “also, what is the floating thing beside you?” I totally forgot about the summoned Cyber Jar floating near me, its huge red eye blinking and emmiting a soft glow on occasion.

“It is called 'Cyber Jar' and it is one of the machine type monsters in the game that I told you, also why don’t you pull a shield over us to avoid getting more wet?” I said to her, blowing one of the loose, wet strands of my mane out of my eyes.

“Because there isn’t magic in the air, I think the cultists that kidnapped me were using the ambient magic to resurrect… her”, Twilight told me, craning her neck to check on the filly on her back, who despite the rain, had fallen asleep, “but they got interrupted before they could finish, anyhow, I think she doesn’t remember anything, when I found her she was terrified of me, and with all the thunder and lightning, she was hiding on a thorn bushel near the place where they got me yesterday, also she didnt recognize me or this place" Twilight states, looking worriedly between me and the little filly on her back.

After a moment, she began to talk again.

"Sooo… what about you, you vaguely had explained where you come from.”

“There is not much to tell, honestly”, I said in a monotone, fumbling with the cards on my vest pocket, searching for one that could help us to avoid getting more wet, also cursing internally because I don’t have fingers anymore, and the fact that I need seriously learn more magic, with a special intensive program in telekinesis, “I am 23 years old, I was finishing my studies in pedagogy and I died trying to save one girl that I didn’t know" I quickly summarize, adding a sarcastic tone at the end, "pretty stupid no?” I said without looking at her. After a while,  I noticed that Twilight has stopped several steps behind me, her eyes wide in shock.

“You… you just sacrificed yourself in order to save another life, that isn’t stupid, it is a very courageous and heroic thing to do!” she almost yelled, her cheeks turning pink, maybe because she was openly praising some random guy that she barely knows.

“Twilight”, I began slowly, “I don’t want to demerit all other humans, but we as species are very selfish, sometimes we could say that us humans are barbarians with technology, usually our problems began with a little misunderstanding on each other and then they would end with wars, I don’t know about you, but personally I think that I am better here.”

"Why" The purple mare asks, looking straight at me, with a sad looking face

"How I start, our planet is heavily contaminated, we have cases of extreme poverty, some of the countries in our homeworld are in war because stupid reasons or even because religious believings, also we are condemned to destroy ourselves in the long run, and after a while, our own planetary system will make the planet inhabitable for us, I am not saying that all humans are bad, but our last hope actually is getting off the planet, we need to expand to outer space or colonize other planets to survive, but we cannot think ahead of our greed, that's why I think that I am better here, where almost all is controlled, you guys doesn't have much greed, besides dragons or other magical beasts, and even those beasts have the neurones to think that chasing the dominant species and getting out in the open is a bad idea" I said with a bored voice, turning around and moving again towards Ponyville.

“But what about your family?”

'My family…' I cursed internally, 'actually it is funny, I have spent almost 48 hours in this new reality, but I really haven’t thought about that', I thought, grimacing, but now that Twilight bring that up, I feel my eyes began to sting, so I averted her gaze, founding one of the cards in my hooves pretty interesting and actually hopping that she doesnt ask further, I hastly made a diversion.

“Ok, here it is, I summon “Big Shield Gardna” in attack mode!”

“Huh?” Twilight says, only for a light burst to shot out from my duel disk and materialize next to us, however, when the monster finally appears, my jaw dropped, instead the grouchy, kneeled man holding a shield the card had materialized as a massive earth pony, with the shield lying comfortably on its back. Checking all the cards that I had with me at this moment, I found that all those wich are humanoid, were changed to fit this world into equines, unicorns, pegasai and earth ponies now are printed instead of all the humans, elfs and the walnot, sighing internally, I let it pass this time.

“Amazing” Twilight muttered, without her knowledge, Nyx was awakened by the summoning of the new 'Pony Gardna', looking over her shoulder, Nyx was staring. awed to the colossal stallion who appeared next to me.

“Gardna, if you would be so nice to raise your shield and protect us from the rain it would be great”, I ask to the warrior. Nodding curtly, the gray earth pony rears up in his two hind legs and pull up his shield, effectively covering us from the downpour that was falling over the canopy of the forest. When I looked straight at Nyx, the littly filly cowers again, gaining a chuckle from me of sheer adorableness.

“And for the little one” I continued looking at Nyx, “I summon kuribon!”, another burst of light later, and Nyx gasped in delight when the familiar 20cm fur ball appears next to her, giggling quietly, she took the fairy spirit and began to cuddle it, gaining a 'd'aaaw' look from Twilight, which was looking over her shoulder, smiling softly.

After a while, I remembered why I was out in the storm looking for the purple mare, clearing my throat, I gently nudge the purple unicorn, also reminding her about her departure from the library, blushing, she said “Let’s hurry up, before Spike sends a letter to Princess Celestia about my little adventure into the Everfree” , looking at me with sad eyes, thankfully not inquiring further about my past.

When we reach the library, Twilight burst through the door, yelling “Spike, don’t you dare to breathe out!” snickering to myself, I enter after her, only to find Twilight looking at the little dragon sternly her left forehoof pointing at him with a frown on her face, after the initial shock, the purple lizard launchs himself onto Twilight's arms.

“Twilight, where were you!”, I lost the rest of the conversation as I trotted into my room, dismissing Gardna, and storing my duel disk, after cleaning myself a little in the secondary bathroom, Spike came knocking at the door and asking if I want some soup and sandwiches, wich I gladly accepted, I was starving, however, when we were at the kitchen, Twilight yells from her room asking her assistant if he could bring a big serving to the room, also apologizing to me, anyhow I doesn’t pay much attention, shuffling trough my cards and the pipboy, and taking out my other decks, I began to check them, after a while my suspitions came true, all the 'humanoid' cards were now pony themed, shrugging it off, I ate my meal and then I went to my room again to try and hook up my computer and the other things I bring with me, only to realize something.

“Spike… how in the name of all things holy, I can hook up an electric device in a tree!”

After some little explanation from Twilight, she told me that all the houses in Ponyville (and in almost all Equestria, have an electrical charged enchanted crystal, and all the other devices who were electric powered need a special inlay crystal to get the power that need to operate, also explaining why in some medieval esque town portayed in the show, they had electronic appliances. Curious, I went down to the basement with Spike, who showed me the crystal.

“And remember, whatever you do don’t…” he doesn’t finish the sentence, put my hoof in the massive structure, only to be sent flying in the opposite direction.

“… Touch it” Spike finish, face clawing, “sometimes I think you are a colt”

“Spike all ok down there? The light suddenly begin to flick” Twilight yelled from upstairs when she opened the door her eyes widened in horror when she saw me embedded at the wall, galloping next to me, she began to do a frantic dance, “OH MY CELESTIA, CHANCE YOU ARE ALLRIGHT!!!” she yelled at me, worried out of her mind.

“Whoa, I see little stars and a pretty unicorn.” I said groggily, then I shake my head and seeing her I began to blush “uhh, Twilight, I need some space to get up.”

Oh god, she was blushing as well, but the more I looked to her, the more prettier and haunting the image become, and unconsciously I began to move my head forward, and she as well, closing her eyes in the process.

“Dude, don’t you ever do that again”

'There went the mood of the night, thanks spike' I though sourly, jerking my head out and again hitting the bark of the walls of the tree house with a yelp of pain.
