Dragon Ball: Equestria

Okay, my name is Goku, I know that much about myself... But how did I get here? And better yet, where is here? All good questions Goku had asked himself. But he knew standing around all day, questioning his existence, wasn't going to get him answers. So he started walking, delving deeper into the Ever Free Forest.

  Goku decided to hop to the treetops in hopes of scouting out civilization. Better stay in the treetops to conceal myself from ground predators and to hide from air predators... Only small creatures can live in these thin branched sections of the trees. Goku took note of the smoke in the distance. He also noticed that it wasn't growing thicker, signaling that it must be a controlled campfire, or coming from a chimney. Finally, creatures that seem to be self-aware. I'll watch them for a day, determine whether they are friend or foe, then I'll either incapacitate and interrogate, or befriend them and ask friendly questions and guidance!

  Goku got excited and started dashing as fast as he could on all the thin branches without causing too much of a ruckus. Almost immediately he got tunnel vision as his surroundings blurred from extreme speed, and all he could see was the object of his focus; the smoke.

  He stopped twelve meters from the smoke. As if automated he breathed in through his nose and out through his mouth, assuming a comfortable position out of sight, as his heartbeat steadied itself. He then closed his eyes entwining his hands and sat Indian style, as he heightened all his senses to an unnatural level, absorbing all the info he could about Ki signatures in his vicinity. He locked onto the Ki closest to the smoke.

Seems to be horse-like! What are all horse-like creatures called again?... Equines! That's right... But who would leave an equine alone, inside their house?... Beats me!

  Goku saw the Moon slowly rising as the Sun set. He then looked away from the moon out of instinct as his tail started to buzz and tingle. He then sensed the equine approach the door and head outside. Goku would be shocked but then some strange feeling told him he had been associated with creatures much more strange, and smart.

  Goku suddenly sensed another Ki signature approaching that didn't feel right, like it wanted to cause hurt and pain for satisfaction.

  For some reason it made his blood boil at the thought of this. He didn't get the same reading on the equine though. The equine's Ki seemed to radiate a warm fuzzy feeling that spoke friendship.

  Goku saw that the bad Ki was making it's way towards the equine's Ki. Whatever happened next, wouldn't be good. He knew he couldn't watch something bad happen to that equine. The equine's eyes widened as they seemed to sense the approaching threat as well, but it didn't make the equine budge.

  "Manticore," muttered the equine.

  Goku felt like glass shards were turning in his head as he caught a glimpse of a creature he must've encountered when he was a little child. A lion, with bat-like wings, and a scorpions tail.

  He couldn't wait another second longer. Times up.

  The Manticore came crashing through the foliage, at the same time, Goku stood, shot himself like an arrow from the tree, and head-butt the Manticore in the ribcage. The equine flinched at Goku's speed. The Manticore was sent bowling through the trees as its bulk made a trail of destruction. The Manticore started to get shakily to its paws, preparing to charge. Goku tensed and took a fighting stance. The Manticore then launched itself at Goku who didn't expect what came next. The Manticore went low for Goku's legs, but Goku simply hopped up and almost got stung as the tail of the beast shot at his chest. He quickly grabbed hold of the tip of its stinger and raised his hand, holding on with a vise-like grip. Goku started back towards the ground but whipped the Manticore above his head slamming it into the ground.

  The equine just gazed in awe as it bore witness to the unfathomable power that Goku possessed.

  But the Manticore wasn't finished yet. Desperate for another meal, it shot to its paws, unfurled its wings and heaved its bulk from the ground with Goku still holding its stinger. Up, up, and away they went. Ascending only to dive, Goku saw the equine stand tall, casting a reassuring glance at Goku. I'm not going to fail. Not now. Not ever. Goku willed himself to stop, still holding the Manticore's tail, he found himself hovering in the air while the Manticore struggled to get free of Goku. Now Goku had an aura around his form and he felt empowered, starting to spin faster and faster. Laughing aloud, he released his payload watching it spiral into the sky.

  The Manticore tried to stop himself so it spread its wings and almost came to a halt. But Goku delivered the final blow. He used his new found power and thrust his right arm towards the Manticore yelling at it.

  "GO AWAAAAAAAAY!!!"

  He felt the energy course through his arm to gather into a glowing ball in front of his hand. He released it at the Manticore watching a ray soar straight at it. Waves of heat radiating from the blast, pushing the Manticore to a destination unknown.

  Goku relaxed his muscles, sighing and feeling the power retreat within him. Now he descended towards the equine, who just stood planted to the spot by awe as it stared at the sky where the fight had concluded.

  Goku touched the ground and made his way over to the equine.

  "Hey there, little buddy. Ya hungry? I know I am! I'm famished!" the equine seemed to snap out of its trance as Goku spoke to it.

  "My name is Zecora, and you have a powerful aura!"

   Goku jumped back as Zecora removed her hood.

  "You're a zebra that speaks my language!"

  "You find yourself surprised, but not by the creature which you almost met your demise," continued Zecora.

  Goku tried to compose himself but his stomach kept grumbling.

  "Sorry uumm, Zecora? Right! I um gotta go and grab something to eat. Do you know where I can find civilization? Oh! And my name is Goku by the way."

  Zecora was about to offer Goku a meal when a rainbow made an unnatural straight shot in the direction where the Manticore had been blasted to.

  "This place just gets weirder and weirder. I'll probably be back soon, so stay outta trouble... One more thing. Why didn't you move when you sensed the danger?"

  "I knew it was you who would make the first move. And welcome to Equestria, where you will find many equines, some evil, and some divine! Farewell my friend, for your journey is far from the end!"

  Goku had already taken off so that he could keep up with that creature trailing a rainbow. There was a Ki signature emanating from that rainbow, that was not natural. That rainbow is alive and most likely self-aware.

  He realized that he was going to lose that rainbow creature if he didn't speed it up. He put out all the power he could currently muster. Tunnel vision again, just as he had expected, but the effort paid off as he zoomed up to the rainbow trail's end. He pushed his limit feeling his muscles burn; just as he had caught up to the head.

  It was another equine! With wings! Goku was going nuts as he sped up right next to it and said, "Hey! My name is Goku, what's yours!"

  "Rainbow Dash. Fastest pony in all Equestria! Where are you fro- WWWAAAHHH!!!" screamed Rainbow Dash as she sped away realizing she was having a conversation with some new and strange creature, that could no less, keep up with her and did not possess wings.

  "Hey! Wait, was it something I said!" inquired Goku.

  She wasn't gonna listen so Goku had to try to keep up as she had put on an extra burst of speed. Already pushing his limits, he tried to push them further, but he felt like he was going to break.

  Then some phrase familiar popped into his head. Holding his power at his max he shouted, "KAIO-KEN!!!"

  His power instantly boosted exponentially as he zoomed right past Rainbow Dash laughing and whooping wildly.

  "That is it! No strange creature is gonna get the better of me in a race!"

  Rainbow put on almost all the speed she could and left Goku in the dust. Now it was her turn to laugh as she took the lead and started show boating.

  But Goku just smiled and pushed his new limits making it neck and neck between him and Rainbow Dash.

  "KAIO-KEN TIMES TEN!!!"

  Rainbow frowned and gritted her teeth as she put on all her speed. Goku pushed even harder. Still neck and neck Rainbow decided to make a gamble by traveling into the sky for better wind, not knowing if it would be against her today. But it was on her side as she used the air coming down at mind blowing speeds. Then Goku heard a sonic boom and dared to look back at which he spotted a rainbow circle in the sky as she zoomed past leaving what seemed to be a never ending rainbow trail.

  Goku had to double his current power if he wanted a chance. He flew just above the ground so the wind resistance decreased drastically. He built up his power as much as he could and shouted at the top of his lungs.

  "KAAAIOOO-KEEEN TIMES TWWWEEEEEEENTYYYYYY!!!!!"

  All the trees that remained were uprooted and sent spiraling away. He made a crater trail from flying so close to the ground. He zoomed past Rainbow Dash sending her haywire as she tried to control her flight and was left screaming.

  Goku sensed her distress and made a U-turn. She was moving too fast so he flew in front of her and acted as a cushion for the mountain they were both about to crash through.

  "GAH!" exclaimed Goku as they hurtled on through smashing into an apple orchard below.

  Goku opened his eyes as he felt someone, or rather something, shaking him.I'm alive and... Rainbow Dash! Goku sat up, clearing his vision, and shaking off his pain and exhaustion.

  "Rainbow Dash! Are you hurt?"

  She was lying on top of him and was curled up in a ball of blue fur and feathers.

  "Ugh... who won?" was all she could manage.

  "Well we tied, because I'm guessing you were headed here, to this apple orchard, and we crashed here at the same time, which is why we are both now waking up in this apple orchard. Man I'm famished! I'm gonna take you to get some help."

  Goku set her aside and tried to stand but the tiredness and pain came back.

  "Gaah! Arrgh..." Goku tried to take a step but fell to his knee's then face.

Man! We sure did make a mess here. This crater has gotta be twenty meters wide! I'll make it up to the owner of this apple orchard. I promise. And I promise I won't fail you Rainbow Dash!

  Goku forced himself to his hand's and knee's, and eventually his feet. He had no choice but to leave Rainbow Dash lying there in the dirt. Vulnerable to attack and exposed. It made him angry. He then suddenly felt a deep power inside himself, roaring and struggling to get free, but he grappled his power and used it to pick up Rainbow Dash and calmly, and slowly, fly towards the nearby farm.

  When he got there, an orange-ish equine made its way out of the double doors, carrying two saddle bags of apples. Goku set Rainbow down softly, and then felt the power abandon him as he crumpled from over exertion. Funny, he thought to himself, This doesn't feel like the first time at all... Then Goku uttered two more words before passing out.

  "Help her."

  In his dream, Goku was facing a foe who held someone in the air with Ki. He looked like a kid with some sort of armor on.

  "Frieza! Stop this, now!"

  The villain he had called Frieza just cackled and closed her fist.

  BOOM! Another kid next to him started to cry and whispered, "Krillin... no..."

  A rage deeper than his pain, deeper than his exhaustion, deeper than his fear of losing his loved ones, just welled up inside of him. And it seemed that he didn't care for himself anymore; he had failed his friend. And it just didn't matter to him what happened next. All he knew was that there wasn't a force in the universe that would save Frieza from what he had planned.

  "Y-you m-m-monster... You won't get away with this... I won't let you!"

  Lightning flashed all around him, and something was trying to keep him down. Some invisible barrier was trying to separate him from his chance to avenge Krillin, his chance to avenge his friend.

  He fought this barrier inside himself, for all his friend was worth to him, and bit by little bit, it came crumbling down with a mighty war cry, like the walls of Jericho.

  "HHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

  This power had changed him, reasoning gone, shoulders square, not slumping... hair color blonde and standing straight up. His power had increased a hundred-fold. Now nothing was stopping him from destroying Frieza, the power was terrifying at the same time too, but it was also necessary.

  "W-what are you?" Frieza stuttered as he stumbled backwards.

  "I am Son Goku, born on Planet Vegeta, raised on Earth, and I... AM A SUPER SAIYAAAAAAN!!!"

  Then the dream skipped to the apparent end of that battle.

  "It's over Frieza! You're all outta tricks, your power is dropping like a stone, your pride is shot, and in the end, I guess that's good enough for me. You were so sure of your own power too. You thought no one could tear you down. Huh! Now you know what failure feels like! So go crawl off in a hole somewhere and hide, I don't really care anymore. Like I said Frieza, it's over..."

  Goku then powered down. Returning to his normal appearance.

  The image before him dissipated as he found himself on a cloud watching over Equestria, with another Pegasus... but this one had a horn unlike the other ones. And this one also wore a crown, and had a mane that looked like black and purple liquid that floated and held together.

  "My name is Princess Luna. I see you have suffered so much. Find Princess Twilight Sparkle in Ponyville and tell her I sent you to help. As a reward, you'll be transported home. And with help, to alleviate your suffering. Now let me give you this pendant so that she will know I sent you. Goodbye Goku, we shall meet again!"
