The Search for an Alicorn

Dear Dusk Shine,

I'm sorry to inform you but I have no idea who that alicorn is, nether does my brother Artemis. Neither of us can pin her location any further than the Everfree. I want you and your new friends to find and attempt to befriend this mare as soon as possible. If you cannot befriend her or she acts hostile, I want you to get as far away from her as possible. Don't act hostile or disrespectful at her until we know exactly what we're dealing with.

Dusk Shine was dumbfounded when neither Prince's could identify the mare was. And even further when they couldn't find her.

"Come on, Dusk." Rainbow Blitz said again "Why do we have to find this mare, why can't we just you know wait for her to leave the forest to get food or something."

"Because, Blitz, Prince Solaris has tasked us with finding her as soon as possible." Dusk said for the eight time in the past two hours, he was counting "Which means we got to go into the Everfree and find her, and I'm surprised that you don't want to find her Blitz, she was faster than you were by my perspective."

"Heh, yeah right, I bet that could circles around her and still win a race." Blitz said cockily.

"If y'all don't drown her with your ego first." commented Applejack.

"Oh yeah." Rainbow Blitz said challengingly.

"Yeah." Applejack said back, not one to back down from a challenge.

"Then I bet that I could find and catch this mare before you." Blitz challenged.

"Your on." Applejack said.

And with that they took off into the depths of the forest, running as fast as the terrain would let them.

"Guys, we got catch up to them before they get themselves hurt." Dusk said

"Honestly, the stallions are always neck and neck." Elusive said disappointingly.

"I hope they'll be alright." Butterscotch said timidly.

"They'll be fine Butterscotch, this Applejack and Rainbow Blitz we're talking about." Berry said joyfully.

"Well let's catch up to them before they either hurt themselves, or the mare." Dusk said to the rest of the party.

And then the rest of the elements took off after their comrade, completely unaware of the sleeping alicorn above them.

"Huh, what." Twilight said with a start as she woke up.

Twilight has been sleeping the Everfree for one night now, she has been missing her own bed for awhile now, but knew for a fact that it wouldn't be a good idea to do so. So she has been training to control her magic, and doing extremely well at avoiding the royal guard.

"Oh, what are they doing out here." Twilight said as she watched them walk away.

There was to much magic for Twilight to control, so she transferred the excess into other parts of her body. Thus resulting in a the new make over of Twilight's appearance, her pupils resembled her cutie mark, her fur sparkling, her aurora can increase the magic in others around her, her mane and tail shine as if just washed, she has night vision, and she is completely magic proof to any unwanted magic.

"Ah, there's the exhaustion, not that I'm surprised honestly." Twilight said as her Magic Exhaustion finally caught up.

"Well, maybe I can find a abandoned house or something somewhere in the-" Twilight was cut off as a growl came from below her.

She looked down to see a manticore staring right back, just barely out of paw reach. Twilight took the hint, and took of like a bunny on sugar. The manticore was not giving up the it's food so easily though, and gave chase. Twilight was losing her line of sight extremely fast and she knew it wasn't long before she collapsed, then a thought came to mind. After everything you've been through, and every challenge faced, you were going to let a animal win because your tired.

And with that Twilight did a very dangerous thing to do while facing in extreme cases of Magic Exhaustion, she blasted the manticore straight in chest with a magic beam. The manticore was there one second, nothing the next. That's when Twilight reached the end of the forest, she continued walking though. To tired to even listen to the rational part of her brain, and just strolled through town like a alcoholic getting out of a bar. She reached a familiar tree house, didn't even open the door, she just went through the damn thing.

"Dusk is that you?" said a female drake, Twilight paid no attention to her as she climbed the stairs and flopped ungracefully onto the bed, falling asleep instantly.

"Whoa." was all Barbra could say as she watched a lavender alicorn walk up the stairs, looking like she just went through Tartus and back. "I gotta get Dusk." and with that the drake took off from the library as fast as her little legs would carry her.

Meanwhile in the Everfree.

"Where the buck is she." was heard by anything with a sense of hearing in the forest.

Blitz was not happy, not in the slightness. He was searching for a alicorn, a purple alicorn of extreme power, and he couldn't find a trace of her anywhere. "Where is this mare, how is anyone that good at hiding." he thought out loud.

"Blitz, Blitz." Blitz heard Barbra calling somewhere below him.

"Huh, oh hey Barbra, whats up." Blitz asked the drake.

"That alicorn you guys are looking for is sleeping at the library." Barbra said quickly.

"What, really, no wonder why I couldn't find her." Blitz said "Okay you go and watch her, and I will go and get the others."

Blitz went off as fast as he could to find the others, only to find them not that far away.

"Dusk, that alicorn is at the library, I need to get the others you and Scotch head back." Blitz said as he took off again without even listening to what they said, but he did hear the popping sound of Dusk using teleportation.

Blitz found Elusive, Berry and Applejack arguing about something, but he didn't care. All he wanted was to get out of the forest and find out why that mare helped Dusk then took off. "Hey you two, stop fighting and get back to the library pronto." was all he got out before taking off again.

Well we'll find out what this mare has to say for herself. Rainbow thought as he flew back towards Ponyville.
