Our story begins on a high-speed train in the middle of a particularily violent winter. Phantasma Eeria; a red unicorn mare with an orange and yellow striped mane and tail, and a red zero with a sword through it as a cutie mark; gazed upon the seven other ponies and the dragon on board the train with her. She knew who they were but they did not know who in Celestia's name she was, she stepped back and seemed to vanish into the shadows. The other 'ponies' on the train were Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Derpy Hooves...and Spike...the dragon. Suddenly the eight heads staring at the spot Phantasma had disappeared from were joined by another, a red one with magenta eyes and a horn protruding from the forehead. Rarity turned her head saw Phantasma and screamed, causing six of the eight other passengers on the train to jump.

The only ponies maintaining composure were the blue pegasus who casually put on her sunglasses, and Phantasma. Rainbow Dash simply looked at the unicorn, who had startled Rarity, through her shades and said calmly "Needs to be about Twenty Percent cooler." This remark caused Phantasma too briefly chuckle before remembering why she had gotten the mane six, Spike and Derpy to meet with her. She said "I assume you are all wondering why you are all here," at which the addressed ponies nodded.
Phantasma continued " There is an evil being far greater than Discord, or any of the other foes you have faced, besides maybe Tirek, loose in Equestria and everypony here has skills that will be useful in the jouney to defeating the being. Even the cross-eyed pegasus currently headbutting the carriage wall. I mentioned Discord and Tirek for a very particular reason, The evil creature that came into existance when Sunset Shimmer took Twilight's Element into the other world and used it for her own evil deeds has somehow remained alive but in a severely weakened state and has found a way into Equestria and possessed over Discord. This evil along with Discords already unpredictable nature has created a manifestation of evil and chaos which has several similarities to Tirek's brother Scorpio."

After the last sentence everypony on the train let out an audible gasp and Fluttershy's eyes started to water as she felt sadness rising up inside of her after having her friend turned evil...again.
Twilight replied "So how do we stop him?"
"I believe that using dear Fluttershy's abilities may come in handy here, if not we can use the fact that Derpy Hooves over there is accident prone to get him restrained and maybe incapacitated, then use the power you six are famous for, however I'm not sure what role Spike will play in all of this just yet, but I'll use my knowledge of all of you to help us get past any obstacle we face," commented Phantasma Eeria answering Twillight's question.

A common inquiry was flowing through the minds of all of the passengers, except Phantasma and Derpy. They were wondering who this red mare was, how she knew so much and whether or not they could trust her.
Phantasma saw the expressions of distrust on their faces and said "To be honest I invited you six here," she said gesturing to the mane six "Because I knew of the power residing in each of you and that with the qualities each of you have you have managed to face every foe you have met with ease... besides Tirek"
Just as Phantasma opened her mouth to continue speaking Rainbow Dash cut in remarking "So why invite Derpy Hooves, and Spike if you know that me and my friends wield the power and wielded the Elements of Harmony?"
Phantasma looked at the interrupting pegasus with an look of exasperation and sighed before continuing"Firstly, If you will let me get that far Rainbow Dash, might I add that I knew Spike would want to come since Rarity and Twilight were coming. Also I invited the clumsy pegasus for more personal and embarrasing reasons as I have a minor infatuation with her, and I would like to point out that I only learnt of the fact that she's accident-prone today after watching her break several pieces of luggage before my very eyes."

Rainbow Dash furrowed one side of her brow in a look that in itself said 'Really??' as she did not believe a word the mare had said after she had made the sarcastic comment towards her.
Twilight said to the unicorn that had just finished speaking "I'm terribly sorry about the incessant questioning but I think we are all wondering, except maybe Derpy, who you are and how you know all of this about us"
"My name is Phantasma Eeria. I'm also known as-" Phantasma said before being cut off by Pinkie Pie
"OOH OOH is it Shirley, Sam, Jade, Laney?" Pinke burst in
"No Pinkie my friend I am not known as any of those, I'm also known as The Pony from the Shadows. I know this much about you as I have been watching you without anyone else's knowledge. I will tell you more about everything in time but for now i will be keeping some pieces of information classified until I know I can trust you"
The other occupants of the train carriage gasped, besides the yellow eyed grey pegasus who simply smiled. The main six were sceptical about this new pony no-one had heard of since no-one could verify that this mare was trustworthy so they didn't know if they should continue this venture onwards with the red unseen mare. All they knew is that whether they went with her or not things were never going to be the same again.

Author's Note

This is my second FiMFic attempt which if my last story was anything to go by standard-wise this will be terribly written.
I will include clop whenever i can be bothered to write it in, there will be some gory parts occasionally
