Previously; after the mysterious invite from somepony that had never been heard of, the mane six boarded a train to an unknown location, where they met the red unicorn mare named Phantasma Eeria. Phantasma explained her intentions, introduced herself but little else. When the train ground to a halt near Phantasma's 'house'; a cave in a large glacier, the mane six were surprised by where The Pony from the Shadows lived. Upon entering the mane six found themselves in a web of threads linking theory to evidence in Phantasma's investigation of the being created by Sunset Shimmer's demonic form. Shortly afterwards Derpy Hooves knocked out Phantasma causing Rainbow Dash to shout at her and make her cry. When Phantasma regained consciousness she went to get a muffin with Derpy.
Our story continues in the back rooms of Phantasma's Ice cave. Phantasma led Derpy into a back room of her horn-carved cavern to the storage room and asked Derpy to help her search for her muffin supply; the pegasus nodded her head in what Phantasma thought was understanding. Phantasma weaved around the maze of refrigerated crates searching for the supply of muffins. Suddenly there was a crash from behind the unicorn; several columns of crates had fallen over with Derpy holding the one labelled 'Muffins (For Derpy Hooves)'.
Derpy smiled then said "I just don't know what went wrong, but I found muffins." Phantasma laughed and rubbed Derpy's neck, smiling. The unicorn took the crate from Derpy's hooves and led her back to the main room before giving her a muffin. When they arrived in the main room Dash and Twilight looked at Phantasma and Derpy with expressions of curiosity. Phantasma waved her forehoof and said "Nothing happened you dirty minded foals." Twilight and Rainbow Dash were shocked to find out that Phantasma knew what they were thinking. Phantasma then asked if they could finally get some work done, the accompanying ponies nodded in agreement, except Derpy who was too busy eating a muffin to pay attention. The red mare started explaining her plan.
"Firstly I should mention how you can tell where the being has passed through; any areas of road will be soap if the monster has been there. Houses may be upturned, and the day-night cycle will be random, to put it simply the being leaves the areas he encounters looking like Ponyville, during the first time Discord was evil. Secondly I should mention that my plan to convert him back is to lure him towards us with magic, trap him, then Fluttershy may be able to reverse the spell in the same way that she reformed Discord, also Twilight you may want to stay slightly behind me, Fluttershy and the rest of us because no doubt the being will be after alicorn magic, but luckily they aren't stable enough to travel to Canterlot, mainly because the purity of Canterlot is fatal to the being. This confines it to the area around, and including the Crystal Empire, Ponyville, and the Everfree Forest, also he can steal the strength, magic and flight from ponies." explained Phantasma Eeria.
"What happens if that doesn't work" asked Rainbow Dash.
"I have a very extensive library," said Phantasma causing Twilight's eyes to light up "Twilight and I will research the spell we need to extract the evil conscience possessing him."

Twilight said "I hope this works I really do, after all if it wasn't for Discord, Tyrek would have destroyed the world as we know it."
Fluttershy said "I'll do anything I can to help, I'm not letting my friend be possessed by that BIG...DUMB...MEANIE!!!!" Phantasma Eeria smiled at Fluttershy's conviction in this matter. Phantasma asked Twilight if she wanted to see the grand library she had amassed. Twilight instantly agreed, and followed her red wingless equivalent through one of the exits out of the main room. Phantasma led Twilight through the maze of tunnels that she had made until they finally arrived at Phantasma's library.
Twilight gasped as she saw the enormity of it, it was about as large as the library in the Castle of the Two Sisters. The sheer size of the library rose questions in questions in Twilight's mind.
"How did you get this many books?" inquired Twilight.
"I bought them from various sources such as the Crystal Empire, Canterlot, and Zecora. I have been looking for books I don't have but it's becoming ridiculously hard as I have half if the books in Equestria, the only ones I don't have are the one containing the 'Inspiration Manifestation' spell, certain spell books and any books that have only been made once except this one," Phantasma explained, lifting out a dusty, tattered, ancient-looking book with a faded leather binding, a peculiar gold clasp securing the book, the name was 'Species Parasitis Demonis'.
After several moments of admiration Twilight finally asked whether Phantasma could show her where she gets her books, Phantasma kindly agreed and notified the others of their short departure to the Crystal Empire. As they set off Phantasma thought something was amiss with the surroundings, she noticed the scent of soap, and considering they arrived at Phantasma's house in the early day-time and it was now nearly night. As the pair approached the mystical Empire the soapy scent grew stronger, when they finally arrived they couldn't see anything as it had become midnight in the few minutes travelling it had taken to get to the Crystal Empire. When the sun finally arose the duo saw was soapy roads, and ponies everywhere exhausted, when Phantasma asked them what happened all of them said one word..."Discord".
